‘What would you do if you woke up somewhere you’ve never been?’

I had woken up inside a small room, and for the most part, I could not remember what had happened the previous night. It was a nice room; blue curtains were in front of a large window. The bed I had been sleeping on was a large queen sized bed, the blankets were a cyan color and the sheet was white. There was a closet in the room that had blankets that were purple and the sheets were gray. The carpet was nice and smooth a light brown, the wallpaper is a pattern of treble clef and revered bridged eight notes. The room is nice.
I walked up to the window and looked out. The house looked like it was the only one for miles from this window. If there aren’t any houses behind the house then this area looks like it a country house. I walked out of the room and I began to hear yelling coming from the other room at the end of the hall. The hallway was also nice as well. There were pictures of what I assumed to be the residents of the house.
One of them was a young girl that looked like she was a DJ. She had blue and cyan hair that resembled the color scheme of the room. She was wearing a necklace that had the revered bridged eighth note at the end of it. She wore a white sweater and blue skinny jeans. The other one was also a young girl. She wore a black dress and a gray sweater over it. She was also wearing a necklace, but hers was the treble clef.
I walked down the hall seeing more pictures of them along the way when I got there the yelling had stopped for a few seconds. I knocked on the door and realized that I had no idea what to say to them. I began to think of what I could possibly say to them. Maybe something like, ‘Hey, thanks for letting me stay here for the night. But why did you bring me out here.’ Or maybe ‘Hi, what am I doing her and why can’t I remember what I’m doing here?’ I didn’t know what I should say then I heard it.
“Come on in.” regardless that I knew nothing to say to them I opened the door and stepped in. I saw the one that looked like a DJ standing in front of the other one. They both watched me as I walked in the room. “Okay, now that you’re awake we can finally get started on what happened. My roommate Octavia here had knocked you out last night when we entered the house after the party.” Wait party? I don’t remember any party. Well I don’t remember anything that had happened in the past week. But I didn’t know why until now.
“So you’re telling me that she knocked me out last night for what reason?” They looked at me and Octavia gave a sigh.
“I knocked you out for a reason that I want to remain secret unless I know that we can trust you. But when I saw the van pull up last night, I was happy to see that Vinyl wasn’t arrested after being the DJ at another high school party. But, when I saw that she had another person with her I walked towards the closet and grabbed a bat and waited by the door.” She paused for a second taking a few deep breaths. I was shocked, part of the fact being one Vinyl was actually a DJ but that Octavia had grabbed a bat to knock me out. “So when you walked in first I had hit you right in the head with the bat. It had hit you in the temple and knocked you out; you fell to the ground like a brick. At first we thought that you were dead because you weren’t moving so Vinyl had brought you up to the room and we started arguing about why you were here.”
Vinyl walked over to me and looked me in the eye (at least I thought so, she was wearing violet glasses and I couldn’t see through them). “So the reason why you are here is that I saw something in you. I’m not going to tell you what until you promise to us. But, when I scanning the party for anyone that would probably be trust worthy I saw it just emitting from you. So I called the cops and they came and stopped the party. When they arrived everyone began to disperse like there were zombies chasing them.” I gave a chuckle at that. “You made a break for the fence but I grabbed you before you could leave. I told you to hide under my DJ set along with all the vinyl I had under there. When they came up to me I told them a long story, that I will not go into then they helped load up the stuff and we drove out to our house and you piece in the rest from there.” I hadn’t noticed but my mouth was wide open.
“Alright so now that we have filled you in we want to know what happened do you promise us that you will uphold our secret to prevent anything serious from happening to any of us.” Wait serious why would it be serious?
“Uh, just leave me to think about this for a second.” I walked over to the bathroom washed my face and came back. I decided that it couldn’t be that bad so I would promise them. I walked back into the room and Vinyl had pulled up a chair and was now sitting on it, Octavia was still on the bed.
“Now that you’re back what’s your decision? Will you make the promise or be on your marry way back home?” Vinyl asked with a smirk.
“Well, I thought what could be the harm in making the promise so I promise that I won’t tell anyone about what you will tell me.” They smiled and Vinyl stood up.
“Alright, follow me and we shall show you our secret.” She walked past me and brought us to one of the doors that was locked. She took a key out of her pocket and unlocked the door. She opened it and began to walk down a large stairwell. The first part of it was wood like the door. But as we walked down a bit further down and it started to be steel. When we reached the bottom there was a large metal door with another lock. Octavia walked in front of me and unlocked the door. She opened it and walked in ahead of us. She turned on a few power switches and lights came on. There was a large metal chamber with a door on the opposite end of it. Another machine was mostly covered up but a computer and a small opening.
“What is all this?” I asked Vinyl.
“Well this is a chamber that leads to our world, from where we are actually from. This machine is for any new comers that need to be registered a vessel to roam around our world without question.” She walked up to it and turned it on. After a few minutes she gestured for me to walk next to her. “Okay this is only goanna hurt for a second.” She grabbed my hand and placed under a needle. With my fear of needles I looked away and waited for it to happen. I felt a prick on one of my fingers and then the blood was sucked into the machine. I looked at it and the computer was slowly digitalizing a pony like figure on the screen. Then a small necklace came out after it was done.
“What this?” I picked it up and began taking a look at it. It was a black subwoofer bass at the end of it, the necklace itself was a golden chain.
“That is your key to our world much like ours that allow us to roam freely around yours.” All this talk about worlds was making me confused.
“So I guess that would make you an alien?” She gave a sigh.
“Well yes and no. You see that to you we are aliens. But at the same time we are able to only travel directly from your world to ours because it is the same place. So to speak were we live Ponyville is in this exact spot, but, in a different dimension. If we wanted to go to somewhere else like New York we would need most the power in Equestria.” Now I was lost.
“If we go any further on about this I will have a headache.” They both laughed.
“Alright so let’s travel.” They walked over to the medal chamber and opened it up. “This is what allows us to travel between worlds. First, it is going to release a gas to make us black out. While we are knocked out that is when we turn into our other form. From there we will wake up after a few minutes in the new form and be in our world coming out this end.” We walked in and after Octavia pressed a few buttons, the door closed a gas started to fill the room.
I started to feel tired as so did Octavia and Vinyl. I yawned making them yawn along with me. I closed my eyes and drifted off into sleep. It felt like hours but I finally woke up and saw that the door was open so I ventured out of the chamber. I went to stand on my legs but ended up falling back down. I noticed that I had four legs with hooves at the end of them. “ I’m going to have to get use to this.” I told myself. I stood up on my legs and began to walk towards the exit.
No one was in there so I walked up the stairs to the actual house. When I got out I noticed that the house was exact same. Just that the pictures were ponyfied versions of them. I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I was in awe. I was a light blue Pegasus and my hair was long, it went down the side of my neck and just onto my back. It had a strand of hair just upward in the front and on the tail. It was black and purple. I walked back out and into the living room.
There on the table was a note it read
Scratch,
This is going to be your name in this world just cause your name would mess with other ponies minds so use that when you introduce yourself. We will be going to a party later tonight so meet us back here. We have business to attend to so have fun and explore the town.

Octavia and Vinyl
I finished reading the letter and decided to go around and meet other ponies. I walked out the door and saw many ponies walking around minding their own business. Some saw the house I was coming out of and said a few things that I couldn’t hear so I went on to see the town.
I was walking down the street when a pink mare that was quite hyperactive tackled me down to the ground. She looked like she was going somewhere fast but when she noticed me she gave a huge gasp, and then began to talk extremely fast. “Hi my name is Pinkie Pie. What’s your name, I would know your name but it looks like you’re new here which means that you’re not from around here so I have to throw you a party because you might not have that much friends. So what’s your name?” She was speaking so fast that it took me a moment to comprehend what was just asked of me.
“My name is Scratch.” She nodded and in a blink of the eye there was a cloud of dust but Pinkie Pie was gone. I just shrugged and got back up and continued to walk down the street and noticed that I must be in the center of town. There were a few stands of fruit and flower along with other stuff. There was an orange mare who was selling apples. I just kept on walking down the road. When I was just passing by a rainbow flew right past me and landed a few feet ahead of me. I was shocked on how fast she was going. The cyan pegasus walked over to the mare selling the apples and began to talk to her.
I looked at my back and stretched my wings. Surprisingly they were easy to move. But when I tried to fly I was just flapping them and nothing happened. The cyan mare noticed my effort and fell to the ground laughing so I stopped. I couldn’t hear but the orange mare told something to the cyan pegasus and she got up and stopped, they both then came trotting over to me so I walked up to meet them. The first to speak was the cyan one began to speak before we were in front of each other.
“Do you not know how to fly or something?” She asked.
“Rainbow!” The orange mare shouted.
“Sorry. But honestly haven’t you flown before? You’re a pegasus.” I blushed a bit but gave them my answer.
“No I haven’t flown before.” They both gave a look of surprise. “That was actually the first time I moved them.”
“But how did you not know how to move them when you were a colt?”
“I was never a colt. I’m not from around here.” Again they both gave a look of surprise.
“But ya’ll should’ve been a colt yer a stallion right now.” I shook my head.
“Wait were did that necklace come from?” Rainbow asked. Pointing at my necklace.
“From a machine that took my blood before I came here.”
“That explains it you’re a human no wonder why you can’t fly.” The orange mare looked at Rainbow with a confused look on her face.
“What are ya talkin ‘bout Rainbow?”
“Well Applejack it's a dimensional thing didn’t pay attention but I have one of those so we can go to the human world on day.”
“Well what’s yer name?”
“Scratch.”
“I take it that you’ve met Pinkie?”
“How’d you know?”
“Well you smell like sugar cube corner and since I take it you have no money to spend the only other reason would be that Pinkie crashed into you after hearing about a new pony in town.”
“How…”
“Word gets around fast. Everypony knows each other so it’s not hard to know when Pinkie is up to something. So you’re going to get a party from Pinkie.”
“Well I guess I will, but Vinyl said that we were going to have a party tonight.”
“Well then I guess that she knew you would run into Pinkie? I’m not sure but it’s all up to you.”
“…..”
“Well since you don’t know how to fly maybe you would like me to teach you?”
“Sure it would be nice to know how to fly.”
“Alright well we can just go over to this clearing I know about that’s not too far from here. Just follow me. See ya later AJ.” And Rainbow trotted off towards the woods. I just nodded to her and started to follow Rainbow. We walked silently all the way but it was nice to see the scenery. After what felt like ten minutes we arrived at a large clearing with a cottage that surprisingly, had tons of animals around it.
“Okay, now shall we get started?”
“Sure.”

After a few hours of failed attempts I finally got the hang of flying.
“So now that you finally learned how to fly, do you wanna race?”
“Sure I want to see how fast I can fly.”
“Looks like the party will begin soon.”
“Well I have to be at Vinyl’s before we can go to the party.”
“Okay then, first one to Vinyl’s. Ready. Set. Go!” We both lunched off the ground and I could already tell that she was going to win. She had a good ten feet ahead of me. But we still kept the race going. After a minute we both landed outside of Vinyl’s house with both Vinyl and Octavia waiting for me at the front door.
“Looks who’s here. Looks like you’ve been busy while we were gone.” Vinyl said.
“Well I was learning how to fly from Rainbow. We raced here and simply enough I lost. I didn’t know you were that fast. Or the fact that pegasi are able to go that fast.” They just broke into laughter. “What’s so funny?”
“Well for one, I’m probably the fastest flyer in Equestria. And two, there are a lot of pegasi that can go that fast.” Rainbow explained.
“Okay let’s get this out of our hand for now. Did you meet Pinkie today?” Octavia asked.
“Yes I did run into Pinkie but she is one weird pony.”
“Yes, she is like that we’ve run into her a few times. But I believe that we should be heading to your welcoming party.”
“How’d you know?”
“Pinkie throws parties often so it isn’t hard to tell when a party is going to happen. Haven’t you noticed that there are no ponies to be seen?” I looked around and sure enough there were no ponies around.
“Alright let’s be on our way.” Rainbow flew away towards a shop named ‘Sugar Cube Corner’ but I walked with Vinyl and Octavia on the way there. It was a silent walk but it was calming. We arrived after a minute of walking there. We entered the room and everypony shouted surprise at me. Witch I was not expecting.

The rest of the night was fun I met most of the residents of the town. Not much happened besides the fact of meeting everypony. Rainbow, Pinkie, and AJ showed me the rest of their friends Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and Rarity. They are apparently students to the princess. But after the party, we started to walk home from the party.
We were walking home enjoying the night. Vinyl finally broke the silence. “So how was your first day here?”
“Well it was fun getting to know how to fly. The party was fun but other than that it was a fun day.” I answered.
“Good, good. Hey tomorrow I’m going to have to open shop and I was wondering if you would like to work for me.”
“Sure I’ll work for you. What is it that you do?”
“Well I run the local music store and make music when I have no customers but if you come to work for me then I will be able to make more music. Some night I go to be a DJ at a party.”
“Ya I’ll work for you. I’m going to head off to bed see ya guys in the morning.”
“Night.” Vinyl and Octavia said at the same time. I walked down the hall, began to walk towards the guest room, and went to bed. This is going to be a good time living here.
