Pinkie's Apartment

Mlp fanfic Pt.6

Pinkie Pie calmed down after awhile. She told me that the book was under her pillow in her apartment above Sugar-Cube Corner, so I left her with the CMC while I went to pick it up.

I walked into the bakery and was greeted by Mrs.Cake at the register.

"Well hello there! How can I help you?" She asked. Her tone was so cheery I couldn't help but smile slightly.

"I'm actually just here to pick something up for Pinkie Pie. Is it ok if I go up?" I replied. She smiled and nodded, and I moved past the counter and up the stairs in the back room.

Pinkie's apartment was… not what I expected. I expected balloons and streamers everywhere, with children's magazines littering every surface. Instead I found what could have been mistaken as a musicians lair.

Immediately after walking in, a stereo began what I recognised as one of my songs. I smiled, realising she was a fan trying to be nice and friendly instead of… well… kidnapping me. It was 'raise your glass'. A personal favourite. I actually started singing along as I walked through the pink mare's home.

"Right, right, turn off the lights. We gonna lose our minds tonight. What's the deal-i-o?"

A large piano took up one corner of the living room, with a book of Octavia Philharmonica's work sat up in the stand.

"I love when it's all too much. 5am, turn the radio up. Where's the rock-and-roll?"

A DJ table was in the kitchen as I passed it. Hopefully the bass was all that got dropped in there. Hehe.

"Party crasher, penny snatcher."

Guitars lined the hallway walls as I made my way to a door with three balloons painted on it, two blue one yellow. Pinkie Pie's cutie mark.

"Call me up if you a gangsta."

I pushed the door open slowly, taking in the sight of the room.

"Don't be fancy, just get dancey!"

THIS is what I expected from Pinkie.

"Why so serious?"

I left the song to play by itself as I made my way through the chaos of Pinkie's room. Pranking books, party supplies and random pieces of paper were strewn about everywhere. I made it to her bed, a large pinkie and white thing, and moved the pillow to the side.

Sure enough, there was a notebook lying there. A small, battered-looking thing wrapped in white leather. 'Berryswainer's Dreams' was written on the front in gold letters, below which was a pink heart. Inside the heart were the words 'rest well Berry'.

I shed a single tear as I picked the book up in my wings, not wanting to damage it any further. I made my way out of the apartment, making sure to turn the radio off on my way. I thanked Mrs.Cake and left for home.

On my way, Rainbow Dash landed abruptly in front of me. I jumped, but thankfully I never dropped the book.

"Hey Thunder." She said. "I thought you were hanging with the kids today. Scootaloo was… hey, what's that?"

Before I could answer, Rainbow had swiped the book from my wings and was reading the cover. She froze. She lowered the book and glared at me intently.

"What the BUCK are you DOING with BERRY'S BOOK!" She screamed, her volume rising. I frowned at her, insulted.

"For your information, Dash, Pinkie asked me to get it. And how do you know about Berry anyway?!"

"Pinkie has been my best friend since I moved to Ponyville. Other than Vinyl and Octavia, I'm the only one she told. Until now apparently."

"Why'd she tell those two?"

"A DJ and a cellist in the Canterlot Orchestra. Why wouldn't she tell them about a book of un-used music?"

"Good point."
