Chapters Chapter 1. First Day of School
I walk into my first class for today, Math. The seat that I'm assigned to is near the back of the class. To the left of me is a somewhat pale skinned girl wearing jeans, a dark gray jacket, dark purple sunglasses with opaque lenses, and she has electric blue hair with light blue streaks. The girl with the blue hair speaks up, "Hey, so you're the new kid here?"
"Oh uh, yeah, I just moved here," I reply.
"So what's your name?" She asked
"M-my name's Neiro Alneron," I answer.
"Cool, mine's Vinyl Scratch. Hey where are you from because your accent is pretty cool?" Vinyl asked.
"Oh I'm from England, London to be exact," I explain.
"I think I've heard of that place before," Vinyl says as the teacher walks in.
"Alright class settle down, it's time to learn," The teacher quieted the class,"I am Mr. Garner and I shall be teaching your Math class this year."

'Alright for lunch they have ... a hamburger ... You know what I'm not hungry anyway,' I think to myself. Vinyl waves me over to the table she's sitting at. Three other people were sitting there; a guy with short stark white hair and hazel eyes, a girl with shoulder-length brown hair and pale blue eyes, and a girl with blond hair and golden eyes that were looking both up and down at the same time. "Hey Neiro come sit with me and my friends Derpy, "The blond one, "Jay," The guy, and then the other one, "and Sarah," Vinyl explained.
"Nice to meet you Neiro," Jay shakes my hand.
"Hi," Derpy says simply. The other girl gives a little huff, not caring whether I was there or not.
"So Neiro what school did you go to before here?" Jay asks.
"Uh, I went to," I tap my finger trying to remember, "Oh yeah, I went to Fhey Academy of London." Lunch passes by somewhat slowly with one of us trying to make a conversation every once in a while.
Chapter 2. Sleeping Arrangements
After my last class for the day ends I head off to find my dorm, "Alright, so I'm in Dorm C," I mutter to myself. I make my way to the dorms located outside the school. 'God, I hope I don't someone too crazy for a roommate,' I think to myself. I stop in front of a two-story, house-like building with a silver C emblazoned upon the door. 'I guess this is the dorm, reminds me of back in London.' A sigh escapes my lips as I use the key that I was given, along with my schedule, to unlock and open the door. I push open the door to find one of my roommate on the couch, watching TV.
"Oh, hey Neiro, so you're in this dorm?"
I recognize the blue hair immediately, "Hey Vinyl, uh yeah I-I guess we're roommates." I pick up my stuff and ask, "So, uh, is there an empty room upstairs?"
"There's an empty one right by the top of the stairs," Vinyl answers. I take my stuff upstairs and throw it on the bed in my room. I walk back downstairs.
"So, when do you think the next occupant will sho-" I get cut off by a knocking at the door.
"I guess that's them," Vinyl says with a smug grin. I go to the door and open it to see who it is. A boy with short, shaggy brown hair, blue eyes, and light skin is waiting outside. He's almost my height, average weight, and not too scrawny. He's wearing a bright, yellow jacket, a pale-blue T-shirt, faded jeans, and a pair of red sneakers.
"Hi, I guess you're one of my roommates? By the way my name's James Malheigh," he stated rather enthusiastically. He walked past me into the dorm.
"Uh, I'm Neiro Alneron and the other person here is-"
"Vinyl Scratch," she finished my sentence. James says a quick "hello" and takes one of the available rooms on the ground floor. I pull out my headphones and start listening to Harder Better Faster Stronger by Daft Punk. Vinyl is able to hear my music because of how loud I have it turned up.
"Hey, play that without the headphones, it sounds cool," Vinyl yells over the music.
" 'K," I unplug the headphones and the song blares across the dorm.
"Man, I love this kind of music, then again sometimes I work as a DJ and this is the kind of stuff I play but whatever," Vinyl says as she starts dancing a bit and James just seems a little bored.
"Is this really what you people call music, it's horrible, it's just a lot of highly annoying and repetitive noise and the words are edited horribly, honestly, they sound like they were made from just editing alone," James complains.
"Oh, so would you like for me to play something else then?" I ask, clearly agitated.
"Yes please," James says calmly.
"Alright then," I change the song to Pain by ThreeDaysGrace, "Is that better?"
"I can stand it," James said trying to see how far he could push me.
"THEN WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU WANT TO LISTEN TO?!" I yell at him.
"What do ya' got?" He replies calmly.
"Ugh, you know what, forget it," I give up, "I'm going to bed," I walk up to my room and slam the door shut after I walk in.
Neiro and I walk into a small little pizza place and get seats at a table near the window. We sit there awkwardly for a few moments until Neiro speaks up, "It was really nice of you to ask me to go out to lunch with you."
"Eh, it's nothin' special, just a little somethin' for my friend," I reply, I can feel the heat of a blush flood to my cheeks.
The waitress walks up to the table, "Hello, I will be your waitres- oh, hey Vinyl didn't expect to see you here, oh and with a boy nonetheless."
"Hey Lyra, me and Neiro are only here as friends," I explain to her.
"Whatever, I still need your order," Lyra says as she pulls out a notepad.
"We'll have a large cheese pizza," I tell her.
"Alright, got it,"Lyra walks to the counter to give the order to the chef.
Neiro mumbles something and Lyra comes back several minutes later with the pizza. Lyra casts a glance at Neiro and leans closer to my ear and whispers, "Watch what you say around him, he seems like a good, innocent kid, it'd be a shame if his hands were to be stained red due to your carelessness." I shakily grab a slice of pizza.
"Hey Vinyl are you okay?" Neiro asks me.
"Y-yeah I-I'm fine," I answer and take a bite of the pizza, gagging a bit.
"Are you sure it sounds like you're choking," he asks looking concerned.
I put down the pizza and order a glass of water at the counter. I take a sip of it to wash down the pizza, "I-I'm fine, it's just that some of the ingredients in this pizza are a bit overwhelming, but I should be fine now." We sit back down at the table and actually enjoy the pizza.
"Wow there's a lot of garlic in this pizza," Neiro observes.
"Why'd you notice that?" I ask.
"When you grow up from where I'm from you learn to look for those things," He answers.
"Why's that?" I ask nervously.
"Because you never know when you'll need it to save your life," He answers coldly.
"F-from what?" I ask
"It doesn't really matter, I haven't seen any of them here," He says sullenly.
We are shaken out of the conversation when a harsh voice calls out from behind us, "Hey girls look it's Neiro from school."
"Oh damn it," Neiro says looking very shaken.
Three girls walk up to Neiro, the one in the middle was the leader of the three, "Hey Neiro, haven't seen you since you left London."
"H-hey S-Snow," Neiro manages to say.
"Oh, I'm just flattered that the little emo bastard remembers me," She says in a flat voice, "And who are you?"
"I'm Vinyl Scra-" She cuts me off.
"Yeah yeah whatever," Snow says, "So, Neiro how are your parents doing?"
Neiro looks very shaken up by this statement and Snow continues, "Oh wait, you have no way of knowing since they don't ever want to hear from you, well, your mother at least, your father isn't around to care, wait, wasn't that your fault if I remember correctly."
"Neiro what is she talking about?" I ask him
"Well Vinyl, one day I had accidentally knocked a refrigerator over and it sorta killed my dad, a few years later my mother found out that it was my fault and disowned me and I had to find some way to live on my own, then I found the school that I went to in London and now I'm here," Neiro explains.
"How did the refrigerator get knocked over?" I ask him.
"I was trying to hide behind it," Neiro answers.
"Why?" I ask
"I was trying to hide from my dad," Neiro says.
"Why were you hiding from him?" I ask, worried.
"He wasn't a pleasant person to be around, he would beat me so I would always try to hide, I hadn't learned that if I hid it would be worse," he explains sullenly.
"That's horrible," I say
"Yeah, but I still regret everything, can we stop talking about this?" He replies.
Snow had left at some time during the conversation so we continued to eat the pizza in awkward silence.
"I'm gonna go," Neiro says and gets out of his chair to leave.
"Why?" I ask him.
"I just need to be alone right now," He says.
"Alright," Neiro walks out and heads to the dorms.
Lyra walks over to the table, "I'm guessing things didn't go too well."
"No, they didn't," I answer.
Chapter 5. The Unexpected Arrival
Chapter 5. The Unexpected Arrival
(Neiro's point of view)
A knocking is heard from the front door of the dorm. I drag myself over to the door until I hear a voice from beyond it, "Hello, uh, i-is this Dorm C?" I freeze when I hear the voice, 'It can't be.' I tentatively open the door, making sure to have my hair in my face so that the person behind the door won't see it.
"H-hello," I say to the girl outside, "Y-yes this is Dorm C."
"Hey, who is it at the door?" Vinyl called from the couch, she had arrived with Lyra only a few minutes ago.
"Uh, I was assigned to this dorm, I just moved here from my old school in London, my name's Nova," The girl explained, "Uh, what is your name?"
"I-it doesn't matter," I say nervously to her.
"I'm Vinyl," says, having walked right up next to me, "Hey didn't you go to a school in London too, Ne-"
"It's not important Vinyl," I say, cutting her off.
"Oh really? Which school?" Nova asks.
"Eh, just ... a school, it's not important," I say.
"You know, your voice sounds familiar, have we met before?" Nova asks.
"I doubt it, no one ever really talked to me in London," I answer.
"Also you talk and act a lot like someone I know, are you sure we haven't met?" She presses.
"I'm pretty sure that we haven't," I reply, hoping that she would leave it there.
"Let me see your face, that will tell us if I do know you or not," She says, "I never forget faces."
I brush my hair out of my face, "Well?" I mentally plead, 'Please don't recognize me.'
"Neiro? Is that you?" She says, having recognized my face.
'Shit,' I think to myself. "Y-yes, it's me," I say.
"Oh my goodness, I can't believe that I found you!" She exclaims and attempts to hug me but I step away. "Huh, Neiro aren't you happy to see me?"
"My question is why are you happy to see me? I specifically remember you saying that you had 'left for a reason, and that I was the reason why'," I say to her.
"Wait, am I missing something here?" Vinyl asks.
"Me and Nova sorta dated a bit back in London, but we broke up a year ago when she realized that she couldn't stand me," I say in a bitter voice, "Just like everyone else."
"It's not my fault that we grew apart Neiro, and it wasn't you who I couldn't stand, it was who you were becoming," Nova replied in a cold voice.
"So you couldn't stand who I am?" I say in an empty tone.
"What do you mean?" She asks.
"You couldn't stand who I really am, you only cared for who I pretended to be, who I hated to be," I say, anger rising to my voice.
"What?" Nova asks.
"All my life I had hid who I truly was because I didn't like it, because I wanted to be a nice person, because I didn't want to end up like my father. But when I finally accepted who I am you had already left me, I began to hate who I was because all it ever did was let things hurt me, I've given it up so it can't let things hurt me again," I explain.
"Neiro, this isn't you, I don't know what lead you to believe that this is true, but trust me this isn't you, you're a nice, compassionate person, I know that," Nova tries to convince me.
"YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO I AM!" I yell at her, "You never did!"
"Neiro just calm down," Vinyl tells me.
"DON'T YOU FU-" I stop, "You're right I need to calm down."
"Good, now just sit down and try to stay calm while I talk to Nova a bit, alright?" Vinyl asks me.
"Okay," I sit down on the couch and I start reading.
Nova and Vinyl start talking about something. It ends with Vinyl almost yelling, "No I don't!" and Nova walking away saying, "Trust me you do, I know it when I see it."
"What was that all about?" I ask Vinyl.
"Oh it was nothing," Vinyl answers.
Chapter 7. The Schools Mix
"Hey Neiro, you know that other school across town?" Vinyl asks me as we are walking towards the school.
"Yeah, my brother goes there, what about it?" I reply.
"Well apparently due to money problems the school is getting torn down and our principal is having all of the students there go to our school," She answers.
"Hm, cool, I guess, well apart from the fact that my brother is gonna be here," I say. We walk in through the front doors and I notice the changes immediately, "Wow, that's a lot of people." I walk over to my locker and I notice that one of the new kids got the empty locker next to mine.
"Hello," The kid says.
"Hmph," I mumble, hoping that this conversation ends soon.
"I'm Zen," He says. He is about 6 ft. tall, has short, shaggy brown hair, caramel colored eyes, and he's wearing a simple T-shirt, jeans, tennis shoes, and a leather jacket.
"Ugh, I'm Neiro," I reply.
"Hi, I'm Vinyl," Vinyl introduces herself.
The bell for class rings and Vinyl and I head to math. The new kids in this class are a girl with shoulder-length, rainbow colored hair, a girl with long pink hair that covers the right half of her face, and a girl with dark purple hair with a violet and a pink streak down the middle. 'Lucky me they're sitting right by me,' I think to myself.
" 'Ey I'm Rainbow Dash, fastest flier in Equestria," The girl with rainbow hair introduces herself, "Who are you?"
"I'm Neiro and I don't have a title so don't expect one," I answer in a bored tone.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle, it's nice to meet you," The girl with the purple hair says.
"And you are?" I ask the girl with pink hair.
She yelps and tries to hide behind a book and quietly mumbles something.
"I'm sorry I didn't quite catch that, do you mind saying it a bit louder?" I ask her.
"F-Fluttershy, my name's Fluttershy," She timidly answers.
"Well it's nice to meet you Fluttershy," I politely say.
"What's with the sudden change of character?" Vinyl asks me.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," I reply.
Class drones on but eventually ends and I then head to my science class. The new kids in this class are Zen, that girl I met when I moved here, Pinkie Pie or something like that, and a tan-skinned girl with long blonde hair that's tied into a braid and a stetson perched atop her head.
"Hey Zen, and you were, uh, Pinkie Pie, right?" I say as I sit down.
"Oh yay, you remember me, for a moment I thought that you forgot who I was because you didn't want to be friends," Pinkie Pie says.
"Hey Neiro," Zen says.
"Ah'm Applejack, it's nice ta meet ya," The blonde haired girl introduces herself with an audible southern accent.
"I'm Neiro," I say in a bored tone, "Oh great, someone with a southern accent," I mumble sarcastically.
"What was that?" Applejack asks.
"Oh nothing," I answer. Class drags on for a while after that, but I was mostly drawing things in my journal rather than listening to the teacher.
Lunch finally crawls by and I head to the cafeteria and sit with Vinyl, Derpy, Lyra, Zen, Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and some girl with long curly purple hair.
"Hello, I'm Rarity," The girl with purple hair introduces herself.
"I'm Neiro," I reply.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Neiro," Rarity says politely.
Snow and her group of 'friends' walk by and stop as soon as they notice us, "Oh look, Neiro's finally made some friends, oh and also, they're all freaks like him," Snow says coldly.
"Fuck off Snow," I tell her.
"Oh is 'de 'wittle faggot getting angry," Snow says in a babyish voice.
"S-shut up," My voice cracks and I get quiet.
"Hey leave Neiro alone," Vinyl says.
"Heh are you gonna let your friends protect you, pathetic," Snow jabs.
"Why are you here?" Zen says in an angry tone, his calm that he had held throughout the conversation is starting to break.
"Because it's fun to torture you guys," Snow says in a curt voice.
"Well get the fuck away before I smash your head in a wall and rip your limbs off," Zen threatens.
Snow yelps and walks away with her group.
"Bloody hell, Zen, that was fucked up," I say in awe as he calms down again.
"I'm sorry that you guys had to see that," Zen apologizes
"Hey after the way she treated us, I believe that she deserves that threat," Twilight says.
Nova walks up to the table and sits down, "Hey guys." I roll my eyes and go back to eating my lunch. "So who are the new kids?" Nova asks me.
"There's Zen, Lyra, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Applejack, and Rarity," I answer.
"Hey Neiro look at this," Vinyl says, balancing an apple on her nose.
"Cool," I say, laughing.
(Vinyl's point of view)
Applejack, Rarity, Neiro, and I were all watching after Rarity and Applejack's sisters and one of their friends.
"AHH!!" Neiro yells out.
'Sounds like Applebloom tackled Neiro again.'
"Gah! How many times do I have to tell you to stop that?!" Neiro yelled at her.
"As many as it takes 'till it gets borin'," She says curtly.
"Applebloom stop tackali'n 'im," Applejack patronizes her sister.
"Ugh fine," Applebloom reluctantly obeyed and walked to her friends; Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo.
"Why are we watching them again? They seem old enough to take care of themselves," Neiro asks.
"They may be almost our age but they're very reckless and must be watched," Rarity explains, "But, if they behave themselves then we wouldn't have to do this."
"It's still nice that we can all hang out, right Neiro?" I ask. Neiro gives a simple "hmph." I see something flit about in the corner of my eye, "Huh?" Crimson eye's flash open from the shadows. The eyes dart around and eventually find the group, they then turn blood-red.
"Agh!" Neiro says as he clutches his head in pain.
"Neiro, are you okay?" I ask him.
"I'm fine!" He snarls, his eyes open for a moment and instead of them being their normal blood-red they are a deep, midnight-blue.
I look back to where I saw the other set of red eyes and see that they're missing. 'That better not have been what I think it was or we're all fucked.'
Neiro soon recovers and looks very shaken, he mutters, "No, it can't be, not here," under his breath.
"Neiro, what happened?" I ask him.
"It doesn't matter, just something that I'd rather leave forgotten," He answers.
Applebloom tackles Neiro again, "AGH!"
"Hah hah, 'ah gotcha 'gain!" She said triumphantly.
Applejack helps Neiro get up,"Ah apologize for mah' sister's actions."
"Eh, whatever," He shrugs her off, "See you guys later," He says coldly, walking towards the dorms.
Chapter 9. Life Revisited is Torture.
Chapter 9. Life Revisited is Torture.
(Neiro's Point of View)
"Stupid southern bitch and her fucking sister just have to get into everything don't they?!" I grumble while heading to my dorm.
"It seems that you're angry," Nova said, walking up to me.
"You've seen them too haven't you?" I say darkly.
Nova opens up her closed eyes, revealing them to be glowing gold instead of their normal emerald green, "I have."
"I see that you really couldn't get rid of that side of you like you said you could," I say to her.
"What about you, you never got rid of your dark side," She says to me.
"My dark side is who I am, and I don't intend on letting it go anytime soon," I say, "Anyway, you should know not to intervene, there are people I care about that could be in danger and if even one of them gets hurt I will gladly kill whoever did it."
"How noble, but it's too bad that you can't see what I can, In the visions I can see what will happen and how to stop it but you only see the risk, you only see who get's caught up in your failure, now tell me would you even think of harming the one you aim to protect ," She says ominously.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!" I yell at her.
"Exactly what it meant two years ago," She answers coldly.
I start having a flashback to the event that she was talking about; I was standing in front of Nova, sword in hand, fending off what looked like people but with glowing, blood-red eyes.
Nova had grabbed onto my shoulder, "Neiro, you can't save everyone, you have to let some of them die in order to be able to win this."
"No, I wouldn't dare let anyone die and know it was my choice, and how do you know that they have to die? Maybe I can save them," I told her.
"Neiro I saw it in my vision someone * will** die but if we choose now we can prevent seeing who I saw dead," She explained.*
"No, I won't let anyone die," I yelled at her.
"Neiro, a true hero will accept a few losses if they can prevent even more," She told me.
"Then I'm not a true hero," I stubbornly argue. One of the red-eyed people had stealthily walked up to me from behind and lunged at me, I barely blocked it and I was about to slash at the guy with my sword but then my friend Zoe blocked the way yelling, "Stop! Don't hurt him!"
I recognized that the red-eyed boy was her boyfriend that I had met just days before, "Zoe step away from him before he hurts you."
"No!" She was sobbing, "No, Drew wouldn't ev- AAAHHHH!!" She was cut-off by Drew sinking his fangs into her jugular.
"NO!!" I yelled as I stabbed the sword through his neck, ripping his head off in the process, blood splattering all over my clothes.
Zoe was on the ground bleeding to death.
"No, please no," I sobbed as I saw the life leave her eyes, a look of terror on her face, two large holes on her neck that were gushing blood, "N-n- .. no."
"Neiro I told you, we could have prevented her death," Nova consoled me.
"Y-you knew that this would h-happen?" I ask her, my voice shaking with anger.
"Yes I knew that this would happen, but I told you that we could prevent it," She said.
"No, no, no, no NO, NO, NO, NO!!" I yell, Blue chain designs appeared on the length of my arms, the chains developed cracks and turned a dark purple. The chain shattered and my grey hair had become how it is currently, and my eyes had turned blood-red.
The flashback ends and I slowly come back to reality, "No. not this time Nova, I won't let anyone die."
"Are you sure?" Nova asked.
I run to the dorms, away from Nova, away from the memories.
I slowly open my eyes and wait for them to adjust to the darkness of the room I'm in, "Ugh, fuckin' mornings." I try to get up but I'm held down to a table, "What the-" Glowing-blue chains are holding my arms down to the table and regular chains bind the rest of me to the table, "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, not again, not again, not again!"
The sound of bone hitting the floor echoes throughout the room, getting louder as it gets closer to the table. A robed man steps out the shadows and over to the table, the man bends over so that I can see his face, there is only a skull in the hood.
I struggle, trying to break out of the chains, black fire flickers across my arms, only to be extinguished by the light of the chains. I continue to struggle until I feel a familiar burning on the back of my right hand. The skeleton grabs my hand and twists my arm around in the chains so that the palms of my hands are facing down, a purple glyph is glowing on the back of my hand.
The skeleton reaches into it's robe and produces a glowing-blue key, terror controls my movements as I thrash around trying to escape the chains, images of a boy with gray hair and a green and a blue eye trapped in the same chains flash through my mind. The skeleton brings the key above my right hand, another image shows the little boy in my place and an old man in the skeleton's except on the boy's right hand a keyhole has opened up.
The skeleton lifts his arm up, the old man in the flashing images, and slams the key down, stabbing it directly into my hand," AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!" In the image the key went through the keyhole. The key rips up my skin as it is forcefully pressed down into my hand, "AAAAHHHHHHH!!" There is a resounding crack as the key breaks through the bone in my hand, "AAAHHHHH!" I scream in pain once again. My hand slips around in the blood that's pouring from my hand which only twists the key around, driving it deeper, ripping up the inside of my hand, "AAAAHHHH, AAH, AAAHHHHH!!!"
The skeleton yanks the key out of my hand, ripping out parts of veins, muscle, and bone, it raises it's hand up again and drives the key back into my hand, ripping all the way through and out the palm of it, "GAAAHHHH!"
I sit up gasping for breath, light flooding my eyes. I look around my room, just now realizing that it was a dream. As soon as I start thinking back to it my hand flares up with excruciating pain once again, "AAAAAAAAahhhhhhhh!!" My voice cracks halfway through the scream and starts to sound very hoarse and scratchy. I curl up on my bed and start sobbing pathetically.
Vinyl's Point of View
I wake up to the sound of screaming, "The hell?" I walk upstairs to see what happened. "Heh, this is one of the worst things to do in horror movies," I joke to myself. I follow the noise to Neiro's room where I now hear sobbing, "I-is he crying?" I open the door and walk into the room to see Neiro curled up on his bed crying to himself.
"Neiro are you okay?" I ask him as I walk over to him.
He just whimpers and buries himself in his arms, hiding his face. I sit down next to him and comfortingly pat his back as he tries to shy away from me, "it's okay, it's okay." I continue to comfort him as he leans on my shoulder still crying. I drape my arm over his shoulder and hold him closer to me as he slowly stops crying. He rests his head on my shoulder and slowly falls asleep. I lie him down on his bed and walk out of the room smiling about what had just happened but I inwardly wish that it hadn't ended.
'Ugh, why is he so damn cute,' I think to myself as I get into my own bed, 'I wonder what he'd think if I were to tell him, would he be angry, would he hate me?' "Ugh, damn it!" I yell as I throw my pillow across the room. After I retrieve my pillow, I take off my glasses and rest them on my nightstand. I get into bed and start to close my crimson-colored eyes and just before they close they flare blood-red.
Chapter 11. Beautiful Crimson.
Chapter 11. Beautiful Crimson.
Light filters in through the curtains on my window, waking me up. I reach over to the nightstand next to my bed and grab my glasses off of it and put them on. I get out of bed and go downstairs.
Neiro is sitting on the couch, listening to music, "Good mornin' Neiro."
"Oh, hey," Hey says.
"Uh, Neiro?" I say.
"Yeah, what?" He asks.
"Hey, uh, what happened last night? You seemed pretty freaked out," I ask.
"Oh, I, uh, I-I j-just, sorta, had a nightmare," He answered.
"Heh, if something scared you then it must have been pretty bad," I say jokingly.
"Heh, yeah," He replies, "You know, you didn't have to help me."
"I know," I say.
"Then why did you?" He asks.
"Because ... because I l- ... because you're my friend and friends should help each other," I answer nervously.
"Well ... thanks ... no one's ever cared about me like that before," He replied quietly.
"What about Nova?" I ask.
"No, she never really cared, she only wanted someone to be her pawn, to do whatever she asks, and I was the poor sap that she picked," He explained.
"Really?" I ask, shifting uncomfortably.
"Yeah, she saw how helpless and quiet I was around others and took advantage of that, she pretended to be my friend. After a while to say I liked her was an understatement, but that didn't matter to her. Anyway, I didn't catch on to her little 'game' until two years ago when she ordered me to do something too horrible," He explains.
"What?" I ask.
"She ... she asked me to kill," He says, hanging his head low.
"That's horrible!" I exclaim.
"Yeah, she even tried to convince me that it was the right thing to do, but in the end it didn't matter because the person that mattered the most died and Nova it was going to happen all along yet she still wanted me to kill to try and prevent it," He says bitterly, "She honestly expected me to kill just because she asked and that's when I realized that I was just her pawn."
"That must have been horrible," I say to him.
"Nah,it's fine, I'm way better off than I would be if that hadn't happened, and besides, if it hadn't I wouldn't be here with an actual friend that cares about me ..." He says, trailing off in whispers too quiet for me to hear.
"What was that? I didn't quite hear you," I ask.
"You're the ..." He mumbles the last part so that I can't understand it.
"What?" I ask.
He sighs in defeat, "You're the best friend I've ever had,"
"Aw, thanks, that's sweet," I say as I pull him into a hug.
He flinches at first but then hugs back, as I look at him all that I think about is how cute he looks.
'No, stop that' I think to myself, 'Ii shouldn't be thinking that, we're only friends.'
'But you like him and you know that,' A voice in the back of my head says.
'Yeah, but he doesn't like me like tha-' My thoughts are interrupted by Neiro's voice
"Hey Vinyl, what color are your eyes?" He asks.
"W-Why does it matter? I ask him.
"Well it's just that you always hide them behind your glasses and I've never seen them," He answers.
"I'm not sure that's the best idea," I say.
"Vinyl, it'll be fine, trust me," He says.
"Fine," I say as I pull off my glasses, revealing my crimson eyes.
"They're beautiful Vinyl. Why do you hide them?" He asks.
"I used to get bullied a lot as a kid because of them so I got those glasses to cover them up," I explain.
"Well I think they're amazing," He says.
"Thanks," I say as I look at him, staring into his blood-red eyes.
After a few moments of us looking at each other I lean towards him, my face blushing. After a second Neiro leans towards me his face also blushing. We both close our eyes once our lips meet in a kiss that lasts for a few seconds. After we pull away we look at each other for a moment and then kiss again.
In the middle of the second kiss I hear a gasp and footsteps but I don't care that someone saw what happened.
"I can't believe I have someone as amazing as you in my life," Neiro says after we pull away from the second kiss.
"Well believe it 'cause I'm not going anywhere anytime soon," I tell him.
Prologue
"Ugh, Connor what do you want now?!" I yelled at my brother for waking me up early, "Damnit Connor it's five in the morning."
"Neiro would you just calm down and pack your things, we're moving," Connor explained.
"Moving, moving where?" I inquire, as I get out of bed my hair is in my face.
"To Ponyville, I'm sure you've heard of it, oh and also you'll be going to a new boarding school there," Connor states rather happily.
"Are you serious, we're going to Ponyville, couldn't it be somwhere with a better name and not out in the country?" I pleed.
My skin is a bit tan but not that much, I have blood-red eyes, and shoulder-length jet black hair with blond highlights that tends to cover most of my right eye and a bit of my left, and no I don't dye my hair.I am about 5ft. 10 in. tall, somewhat skinny, and no real muscle.
I put on a simple gray T-shirt, sneakers, jeans with small holes in the knees, a black jacket with a three red gash mark design on the back, and a black fedora with the Organization XIII emblem on it.

'Damnit Connot couldn't you have at least dropped me off at your house instead of just giving me the address and have me find my way there. Might as well just ask someone if they can point in the right direction,' I think to myself.I wave over to some girl in a pink dress with puffy, frizzy pink hair. The girl simply gasps and runs off when she see's me. I sigh, 'Ponyville people are weird.' I set off for my brother's house again. After about an hour or so I find the house and as soon as I turn on the lights in the house- " SURPRISE!"
"AH! WHAT THE HELL!" I yell as I see a bunch of random people yelling surprise.
The pink-haired girl from earlier pops up and explains, "Hi I'm Pinkie Pie and I threw you a party because I haven't seen you before then that means you're new then you don't have any friends and so I threw you a party so you can make friends."
(Vinyl's point of view the next day)
I pace around on the ground floor of the dorm, debating random things in my head until a certain thought runs through my mind, 'I wonder if he's single,' I stopped pacing for a moment, 'Why the fuck would I think that? I don't even like Neiro like that.'
A voice pops up in the back of my head, 'Yes you do.'
'How would you know?' I ask the voice.
'You seem to forget that you're talking to yourself, you can't hide anything from me,' The voice answers.
'Well, so what if I like him? He probably doesn't like me,' I think disappointingly.
'Even if he does like you there's still that other thing of explaining to him that you're a-' The voice get's cut off by Neiro coming downstairs.
"H-hey Neiro, y-you're up early," I stammer out.
"I tend to get up early on weekends," He explains.
We stand there in awkward silence for a moment, neither of us really knowing what to do, I finally break the silence a few minutes later, "S-so Neiro, w-would you maybe want to go t-to lunch later?" I shift on my feet nervously, slightly blushing.
"Uh, yeah, s-sure," He answers.
'Yay! I get to go to lunch with Neiro,' I mentally cheer.

Chapter 6. It Was Too Late From the Moment You Walked In
"Ugh, fuck, it's morning," I grumble as I get up from bed and walk downstairs only to find Nova there. I simply sigh and say, "The fuck do you want?"
"Look Neiro, I want to talk to the old you not the new you," Nova pleads.
'She just doesn't get it does she?' I think to myself. "Nova, I told you, there is no new me there's only me and who I had wanted to be," I explain.
"T-then let me get to know you and not who you were," Nova begs.
"Nova I don't want to go down this road with you again," I tell her.
"B-but Neiro, if we do this we can save what we have and start over, it's not too late," She reasons.
"No Nova, it was too late from the moment you walked in," I say darkly. I push past her, sit on the couch, and pull out headphones so I can listen to music. Nova goes to her room and slams the door shut.
Vinyl walks downstairs, having just woken up, "Mornin' Neiro."
"Ugh, good morning Vinyl," I reply.
Vinyl blows some of her hair out of her face, "Well someone's grumpy."
I simply roll my eyes and turn on the TV.
