A Trip To The Pet Shop

Alright. Let me get this straight. Fluffy Ponies are an attempt at creating in-real-life ponies for all the bronies and pegasisters out there. But, they are only one foot tall at maturity, kind of stupid, and are extremely fluffy. Hence the name. I live in an inherited home from my parents, but i'm all alone. So, a few days ago I decided to scoot off my lazy bum and go to the local pet store. I was planning on getting a kitten or a puppy, even a goldfish, anything to lighten up the dank mood. Upon arriving, I saw a large sign on the window, and groaned. NEW! Buy a Fluffy Pony today! "Now THESE guys sell them too? Ugh." I mumbled to myself as I looked away from the sign, and stepped into the store, a bell ringing lightly as the door opened.

When stepping in, my nose was filled with the sour aroma of animal hair, cat litter, and feces. The pet shop had always been under-budgeted, and they couldn't really afford to keep the place spruced up. Several children, oblivious to the sour smell, huddled around a cage about five-by-five feet that sat in the center of the room. What are they looking at? I thought to myself as I approached. Probably some puppies or something. But I was proven wrong when I reached the cage. Several young Fluffy Ponies lay in the cage, rolling about, fighting over a small red ball in it. My heart skipped a beat as I realized that these were the cutest things I had ever seen. My eyes rested upon a Fluffy smaller than the rest, huddled in the corner of the cage. She had a red, silky mane, and the smoothest sky blue fluff. Her green eyes looked sad, wanting to play with the other Fluffies.

I gently pushed aside a few of the children, and reached down for that specific Fluffy. She looked up, and said in an adorable high pitched voice, "Dada? Dada giv hugsies?" My hands wrapped around her middle, and she gave a little yelp. Her fur felt like the finest silk. Holding her close, stroking her smooth red mane, I replied, "Yes. Dada give hugsies." Some of the children D'awed, and I made my way towards the front counter. The store clerk, a relatively round man with a name tag stating his name was X'avier, smiled when he saw me cuddling the little Fluffy. "I'm guessing, you wish to buy?" He asked, though already knowing the answer. I placed the small Fluffy Pony on the counter, and she started to bawl "Hugsies! Moar hugsies dada!" Holding her stubby hooves out for me, pouting her lip, I almost grabbed her on the spot and ran.

The clerk roughly grabbed her around the middle, and I grimaced as she cried "Owie! No give owies! I be a gud fwuffy!" The clerk held her up, inspecting her, and occasionally looking at the other Fluffy's in the nearby cage. "Are you sure you want this one? She is the runt, after all." He inquired, but I nodded. This was the one I wanted. He sighed, and tapped a few keys on the cash register. "That will be a total of, uh, twenty five dollars and seventy five cents. I shoved my hand into my pocket and placed the crumpled bills in front of him, not even caring about the extra twenty five cents there was left over, and he greedily took them, dropping the small fluffy on the counter. I was about to leave, stroking my new prize, when I remembered, I don't know anything worth dirt about Fluffies.

"Is there anything I need to know about how to take care of Fluffies?" I asked the clerk, who was busy smoothing out the money and counting it. "Nah," He replied, "Just google it or something." I was going to object, but thought otherwise and left the store, petting my new Fluffy as she purred "I wuv yoo dada." Ruby Blue will be her name, I thought. Ruby Blue.
