Scootaloo's Adoption

The Accident part 1

"Look Scootaloo you've been with me for a few months now and I think it's time for me to teach you how to fly." Said Rainbow Dash. "Finally!" Scootaloo said with great enthusiasm. "When do we start?"

"Anytime your ready squirt." Rainbow said nugging Scootaloo against her shoulder.

"I'm ready!" Scootaloo said.

"Okay lets get started." Rainbow said ready to start. "Get in flying position. Now start flapping your wings, lets see what were dealing with." As Scootaloo started to flap her wings, Rainbow noticed that one wing was slower than the other. "Hey, Scootaloo did you now your left wing is slower than the other?" Rainbow asked.

"It is!" Scootaloo said, stopping in her tracks.

"It's okay, just see if you can even them out." Rainbow instructed.

Scootaloo did what Rainbow told her, and she started flaoting. Scootaloo got so excited that she lost her balance and fell on her face.

"That was great Scoots! But, this time don't lose focus. Okay?" Rainbow urged.

"Okay." Scootaloo said smiling. She started flapping her wings and did more than float she was able to go across the air.

"Look, look! I'm doing it! I'm flying!" Scootaloo yelled.

"I knew you could to it Scootaloo." Rainbow said happily.

The next day around noon, Rainbow was teaching Scootaloo to fly on and off the cloud.

"Okay squirt lets see what you've learn." Rainbow said. Scootaloo started flapping her wings and slowly started off the cloud to the ground. Rainbow followed her to make sure she doesn't fall. Scootaloo made it to the ground successfully.

"I'm so proud of you, Scootaloo." Rainbow said giving Scootaloo a hug. "Now lets see if you can get some speed." Rainbow challenged.

"Your on!" Scootaloo said confidently. Rainbow Dash set up a small course with a few cloud rings, for Scootaloo.

"I'll stay on the cloud to watch you." Rainbow said.

"B-but what if I fall?" Scootaloo said worried.

"Don't worry I have all confidence in you." Rainbow replied. Scootaloo started flying into the rings as fast as she could to impress Rainbow. But, she went a little to fast and wasn't used to working her wings that quickly. She hit the side of the cloud ring and became disoriented she started falling. Rainbow as quick as she was. Was not able to catch Scootaloo. Scootaloo landed wings first. Panicking Rainbow took her to the hospital as quickly as she could.

At the hospital, Scootaloo was taking to the emergency room. Rainbow tried to follow but one of the nurses told her she couldn't go in. Rainbow yelled "Why not!" The nurse told her to calm and sit down. Then asked her "What happened?"

Rainbow said "I was teaching her to fly, and she over did it and hit the ground." She couldn't help but to start to crying. "I didn't want anything like this to happen to her." Rainbow was bursting in to tears hoping that nothing major happened to Scootaloo. So many scenarios were going through her head. It has been a few hours, then finally a doctor comes out to tell Rainbow of what injuries Scootaloo has.

"Doctor will she be all right?" Rainbow asked in the saddest voice she's ever had.

"Yes, her left wing is fractured, and the right only has a few ruffled feathers. But on examining her wings, we've seemed to have found that she has a rare disease a that keeps her wings from growing." The Doctor respond.

"What do you mean? She just fell from the sky, that couldn't of gave her a disease could it?" Rainbow asked.

"No, it wasn't the fall that caused it. She has seemed to have been born with it."The Doctor said.

"Exactly what is the disease cause and do?" Rainbow asked.

"The disease causes a lack of bone marrow in the wings that keeps them from growing, and what is does is disables the ability to fly. She was lucky enough that she could fly." The Doctor responded.

"Could?! What do you mean could?" Rainbow yelled.

"Miss Dash, Scootaloo will never be able to fly again. I'm sorry." The Doctor said wishing it wasn't true.

"No! No, this can't be happening I promised to protect that filly. I promised her as long as I was her guardian I wouldn't let anything bad happen to her." Rainbow said with tears running down her face.

"I promised her!" She said loudly stomping her hoof on the ground.

"Miss Rainbow Dash please calm down! You can go and visit her if you like?" The Doctor suggested.

As Rainbow Dash entered the room that Scootaloo was in she noticed that there was a cast on Scoot's left wing. Rainbow sat on the bed and said "Scootaloo, I just talked to the doctor, and he said that you have a dis- a problem that keeps your wings from growing."

"W-what!"Scootaloo shouted. "How could have a problem that keeps my wings from growing."

"I don't know Scootaloo. I just don't know." Rainbow said with a tear running down her face. "He said that it was a miracle that you could fly. But, because of the accident you won't be able to fly anymore. I'm sorry Scootaloo."

Scootaloo chocked and didn't know what to say. She tried to hold back the tears but she couldn't. She started crying in Rainbow's lap and sad "Why did this have to happen to me? Why?" She said in a saddened voice.

"I don't know Scootaloo." Rainbow said still with tears coming down her face, while she strokes Scootaloo's mane "I just don't know."
