Legends of Equestria: DemonStorm

Bright Haze and the others could see Canterlot up ahead. They began to cheer knowing that they had succeeded in their quest and were now home, ready to restart Equestria's magic and start the war with the Mo'ka. They trotted onwards at a leisurely pace toward the capital. Steven had the Heart on his back still and everypony was spread out. Haze stood near the back with Twilight Sparkle. He had had her looking at his white eye but she couldn't do anything. Dari had said it was the Heart's doing. Not any normal magic.

"We are home Haze." Twilight said suddenly. Spectra, who was just ahead turned his head and smiled.

"Yeah. Canterlot." Bright Haze muttered in a reply. He smiled and nodded slightly.

"We brought you home once more old friend." Spectra said from ahead.

"Well being brought back from the dead twice now maybe I shouldn't fear death as much." Haze replied.

"Dont say things like that Haze. We lost a lot of good ponies that day." Spectra muttered, thinking of the Rift and of Haze and Derpy. "Due to humanity." The pony added, glaring at Crystal.

"I forget how many trees this world has." The Human muttered from the side, apparently ignoring the Pegasus.

"What was that Crystal?" Haze asked, not hearing the human.

"I said. Equestria has an awful lot of trees compared to Earth." Crystal replied.

"What do you mean by that. Equestria isn't much of a very forested place. How many trees does Earth have? Do you count them?" Twilight put in.

"We destroyed our trees and much of the other life on our planet, planets. I could probably count the amount of trees we have left."

"So, once you have counted to eight. What do you do for the rest of the day on Earth?" Bright Haze asked.

"Cut one down so it is easier tomorrow." Crystal replied quickly. Haze burst out laughing but the group continued to walk on. Rather than lose time in stopping so close.

The group continued on for some time, slowly gaining more land and getting closer and closer to Canterlot. There seemed to be no pony around and the sky was rather empty of Pegasi. This fact alone was worrying as everypony gathered speed to get to Canterlot. Spectra flapped his wings and began to give a run at full gallop to get to Canterlot.

"Nononononono." He cursed, everypony else soon gave chase, there was absolutely no pony around. As the group neared the city they could see burns on the ground and smoke trails from the acid blood of the demons. Pieces of demon could be seen scattered everywhere and the gates of Canterlot could be seen, broken and destroyed. Dead ponies lined the ground closer to the city. Demon blood lay everywhere, many of these faces were black and burned, they would have fallen by acid, no claw of the demon. No wonder no pony had reclaimed them. If anypony were left that is. The group slowly crept into Canterlot. Dead lay everywhere. Crystal knelt down suddenly and grabbed up a gun. Holding two now he ran quickly to catch up. Everypony walked in silence. The city was completely empty, not a single soul. The group stopped, staring onto the ruins. Homes were burned and empty. Smoke filled the sky and everypony was dead.

"Now. Now what?" Nick suddenly grunted. Gulping at the scene.

"I don't know Nick. I really don't." Bright Haze replied. A tear fell from his good eye. The blind eye just, stayed.

"Are they all dead?" Fluttershy squeaked.

"I think so Flutters. I think so." Bright Haze replied. The yellow mare squeaked in fear and let of a shot with her gun. The decay shot went into some building which began to burn and the whole wall soon fell.

"Well if they didn't know we were here, they do now." Spectra grunted, lifting his own gun.

"They?" Fluttershy asked. There was a hiss from an alley way.

"Demons!" Spectra shouted as the black figures jumped out of the ertswhile empty alley ways. Everypony opened fire, they were soon surprised at how quickly the things died. Almost instantly bursting apart spraying their acid blood about. Crystal stood forward and shot his twin guns at the oncoming demons. There was a rather loud explosion come from the castle and everypony looked to it.

"Survivors?" Dari asked.

"Most likely. We gotta move!" Haze replied. Then began to gallop through the gathering horde, shooting as he went. Everypony soon followed, letting off their own barrages of gunfire. Shadow stopped in his tracks.

"Come on!" Spectra shouted. The black pony stayed.

"Just go! I will hold them off. Go!" Shadow shouted, firing. Black winged creatures began to rise up, attacking from the sky. Spectra shot a few but they kept coming.

"Shadow come on!" Spectra shouted.

"Spectra, I have to do this. I can be at peace then." Shadow replied.

"No!" Spectra replied. His eyes going red. The Pegasus charged at his friend and hit him round the face with his gun. Knocking him down, knocked out cold. Spectra shot a few more rounds and lifted Shadow onto his back and ran forward to catch up to the others, who had formed a circle in the burned out ruined market.

"The bastards can fly?" Rainbow shouting, taking one down with a shot.

"Apparently so. Have we got any spells yet?" Bright Haze shouted. His eyes burning white. Every shot of his that hit a demon the creature set alight, screaming.

"I have a shield. Might help our air problem." Twilight shouted back.

"Teach it to Rarity then put the damn thing up." Haze replied. Shooting constantly.

"I can't just TEACH magic Haze. There needs to be years of training and-"

"Put the damn shield up. Rarity lend her magic!" Haze ordered, Twilight nodded and her horn pulsates. A small bubble of purple magic soon covered the group. The Heart was giving off a glow again sending magic to Twilight, Rarity and Haze.

"Fire going out." Bright Haze said, shooting a huge fireball out of his forehead were a white horn of magic had appeared. Pulsating brown magic. The fire shot out hitting the hordes. As the shield completed the flying things began to disintegrate as soon as they touched the shield. Along with the flightless ones. The demons stopped their attack, and just completely surrounded the shield instead.

"We are safe. For now." Steven muttered.

"Agreed. But how are we to get to the castle in all this?" Spectra asked.

"Hmm. Twi. Can you keep the shield up whilst moving?" Dari asked.

"It is possible. But I would need complete focus. And I can't get that out there." Twilight replied, pointing a hoof at the black mass of demon.

"What if we tied you down. So you wouldn't have to move, you would just be in utter stillness keeping the spell up?" Dari asked. Everypony saw where this was going.

"Yeah but I would need a constant flow of mana, and for me to place the shield down where we are going, not where we are, so everypony will have to run to stay in the shield."

"That's okay. Just climb onto the Heart. Somepony tie her down. Tell me when you are ready." Dari muttered. Spectra helped Twilight onto Steven and tied her down so we wouldn't have to move. She nodded and her horn began to glow.

"To the castle right?" Twilight asked. Dari nodded and readied for a gallop. "I will illuminate the way I am going." Twilight added, then after a brief pause, a yellow line appeared from Steven and moved forward, continuing through the shield and out onto the demon filled street. The creatures moved to either side of it to stay safe. The line went straight through the city toward the castle.

"Ready?" Twilight asked. Her eyes now glowing purple, the Heart gave of a purple colour of magical trails to the unicorn. Everypony nodded and Twilight released the shield. Everypony ran, shooting.

The plan was working. The shield would be down for about a second, then back up about a metre away. Everypony had just kept shooting and running. They were close to the castle and the doors were closed and apparently locked. Twilight brought everypony to the door and opened small holes in the shield for ponies to shot out. She looked down to Haze who was still shooting.

"I am going to teleport you inside. Take Spectra with you. Open the doors for us." Twilight said. Bright Haze nodded. Then saw the world turn white for a second. The next moment. He was face to face with Celestia. Him and Spectra were inside the main lobby for the castle and could now see the survivors of the demon battle. Hundreds of ponies, soldiers and civi alike stood or sat around the huge room. There were probably ponies everywhere around the castle. But the main army force, well surviving force was in the main room. Spells were in place around the doors and windows. Making it near on impossible to break into. Everypony stood and aimed weapons.

"Hold on! We are on your side." Spectra shouted.

"Stand down." Celestia muttered, the ponies obliged.

"Well it is good to see you princess. We have the Heart. Yes everypony is okay. Yes Haze is back from the dead. Again. Yes we have a human with us. Yes it is a long story and no. I don't wanna talk about it whilst everypony is outside. So could we get that door open." Spectra said quickly. Celestia smiled and nodded. Her horn began to glow and the double doors soon opened, the soldiers began to fire at the demons as Twilight and the others made it inside. The doors closed.

"So. Spectra. Tell me what happened." Celestia muttered.

"If you tell me." Spectra replied winking. A tall large human appeared holding a rather large scary gun.

"Da. I wish to know what happen to little pony." The man grunted. Smiling.

"Oh boy." Spectra mumbled and began the story of everything that happened since they left Canterlot. Then Celestia started her story.
