Chapters It begins(Jeff The Killer)
5:00 A.M.
Jeff The Killer walked down the sidewalk of his neighborhood of which his killing spree began.Jeff kept his hands in his pockets to keep the cold wind and rain from touching his hands,as Jeff looked around,he saw the bus stop where he fought Randy,Kieth, and Troy for the first time."Randy, that son of a bitch destroyed me,my family,my face,he made me become...this."Jeff mumbled as grit his teeth at the sight.Jeff finally stopped walking when he arrived at his house. He reached under the doormat and found a key.Jeff looked into a window of one of the neighbor's houses. The television was on and an episode of "My Little Pony:Friendship Is Magic"was playing. He saw a little girl sitting in front of the TV with her eyes glued to the screen(metaphorically speaking). He chuckled."How do children get so interested over something like that ?"
He inserted the keys into the lock and twisted, unlocking the door.Jeff stepped inside and walked to his father's liquor cabinet. He took a bottle of whiskey. He removed the cork from the bottle and began drinking the alcoholic beverage.Jeff looked at the back-door of his home.Jeff's feeling to desire of murder came back.He walked slowly towards the door and unlocked it.He opened the door and locked it again behind him.Jeff began to take a walk around the forest behind the house. As Jeff studied the darkness of the forest,he glanced forward to make sure he wasn't about to run into a tree.As he looked ahead,he saw a large, swirling, black hole in the ground."What the fuck is that?!"Jeff asked himself, knowing that he would not get a response.
Jeff started to walk around the hole, only to trip on a fallen twig and fall to the edge.He tried to grip onto the edge of the swirling, black mass around him but there was nothing to grab onto.Jeff's hands slipped and he fell into the hole."HOLY SHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII....Jeff's screams echoed as he fell into the dark abyss.
Jeff fell out of the vertical tunnel and into a bright, blue sky.Still screaming,Jeff turned over and saw how close to hitting the ground he was.His black eyes widened as he braced for impact.
CRASH!!
Jeff had hit the ground with great impact, leaving a trail of torn grass and dirt as he slid to a stop.As he tried to get up,he once again fell to the ground and blacked out.
When Jeff came to,he looked up and saw that he was lying on a patch of grass. His knife lay beside him.Thankfully,it had fallen out of his pocket and didn't stab him.He saw a bright, blue sky with sort of a cartoon atmosphere."Where the hell am I?Jeff asked himself. He saw a blue pegasus with a rainbow mane and tail flying through the air."Oh fuck no!"Said Jeff."Am I in the show that I saw through that kid's window?"
Jeff pondered for a minute."NO,NO,THAT ISN'T EVEN POSSIBLE!".He looked down. What once were his hands, now were just...hooves.Hooves that would belong to a horse."Oh fuck no,no no no no,WHERE THE HELL ARE MY HANDS?!".Jeff reached for his knife that he was somehow still able to grip even though he didn't have regular hands. He immediately put the knife in the pocket of his white hoodie and stood up."Where do I go now,I don't know where I am,I'm not even a human anymore."His gaze fixed on a small town in the distance.Jeff smirked and slowly started walking towards the town."I bet these folk are tired, because it's time for them to sleep."
Don't Go To Sleep(Jane The Killer)
7:00 A.M.
Jane The Killer smashed through the window of a house. She attempted to take another victim, but it ended up with the neighbors of the family calling the police.Jane ran as fast as she could, trying to get away from the cops, who were running after her.As Jane ran,she headed for the forest that was located around Jeff's home."I don't want to come close to that son of a bitch's house, but I'm going to have to if I want to be able to escape 'them''.She managed to run with a bit more adrenaline, causing her to slightly pick up the speed.Jane continued her sprint, hearing the barking of police dogs behind her.Se noticed something in the ground, but assumed it was just the exhaustion from running providing a mirage. The black-eyed woman tripped on some grass, and ended up rolling next to a huge hole in the ground.Jane rose to her feet and turned around to look at the swirling mass in front of her.Her eyes widened as she stared in awe,not blinking. She was completely speechless. The killer spun around once more, only to see two police officers along with two dogs, flashlights in hand. They were only a few feet away. There was only one other decision."I really don't have another choice,do I?",she asked herself.Jane shut her eyes, and turned around one last time before jumping into the black hole.
Jane fell in,screaming. The two officers caught up to Jane, only to witness her falling into the dark abyss."Well, what should we do now?",asked one of the officers."I think she'll be dead if she ever reaches the bottom of that hole."The other replied."We should head back to the station and explain what happened, even though they might think it was an excuse as to why we didn't catch her.",he said again."I think it's worth a shot.",said the other officer. His partner nodded, and they walked back to the station.
As Jane reached the bottom, she had nearly lost her voice from screaming. She fell out of the whole and turned around to see where she was.She noticed she was in a bright, blue, slightly clouded sky, rocketing towards the ground.Jane was scared to death(obviously). She saw a huge, green field before passing out in the air.
When Jane regained consciousness, she was covered in dirt, and some of her own blood. She opened her eyes and rose to her feet. She realized she was shorter than she usually was.Jane looked at her hands, which were gone.Their replacements were not hands, but hooves.Jane gasped"WHERE THE HELL ARE MY HANDS?WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BODY?!Jane screamed.Jane saw someone in a white, bloodstained hoody."Is that Jeff?"She asked herself."No,that can't be him."Jane saw him turn his head and he had one of the lines of a long, horrendous smile carved into his face."Oh my God,yes,it IS him,I guess I should follow that psychotic fuck, find out where he's heading to,and kill him on the spot,I guess I'll kill that bastard in this world, whatever this world is."She looked around and saw three horses with wings flying through the air.Jane facepalmed(or in this case, facehoofed). She realized she was in the My Little Pony universe.Jane started to walk and follow Jeff, planning to attack him as she walked to the distant town.
4:00 A.M
Micheal woke up with a jolt, and in a cold sweat. His nightmares of the SlenderMan were traumatizing him every night since he first saw him about two months ago. "Why must he go to such a measure to scare me, I'm starting to lose it!" Said Micheal to himself, almost shouting. Micheal started to shiver and his eyes widened as he heard a light *tap tap* at the window. He got up immediately and grabbed his M-9 handgun from his nightstand along with his wallet, his car keys, a pocket knife, and a flashlight just in case. He was leaving. Micheal didn't know where he was going to go but he knew he wasn't going to stay at his now hellish home anymore. He changed into his daily attire and walked out the bedroom door.Micheal walked to his front door and stepped out of the house, closing the door behind him.
He walked to his car in a slightly quicker pace. As he walked around to the driver's side,he saw a tall, thin figure in the corner of his eye. He immediately turned around and started to walk away from the car."I can get away from here just as easily on foot."he said as he looked over his shoulder only to see the SlenderMan right behind him. Micheal's eyes widened as he saw the monster following him. Micheal began to run, SlenderMan close behind him. He ran to the woods near his house(yes, he lives near Jeff's neighborhood).Micheal ran into the forest and tried to run through the trees in an attempt to blend in or lose 'Slendy'. He pulled his pistol out of his pocket, turned around and started shooting at SlenderMan. One bullet hit the monster straight in the heart, causing him to fall over. He sighed in relief at the thought that he had just killed his stalker, but his face fell once more when he saw SlenderMan get back up, the small hole in his chest regenerating. As he rose, several tentacles started to emerge from his back.
Micheal began to run when he saw the growing tendrils. SlenderMan got somewhat infatuated yet angry at the same time as he started to continue his pursuit after Micheal. This time, instead of actually walking or running, he teleported to reach his victim. Micheal and Slendy were in the middle of the forest now. Micheal tripped over a twig that fell from one of the trees. He saw SlenderMan walking over to him. He realized that a large, black, swirling hole or mass in the ground, then looked to see the monstrosity standing above him at his feet. In one last attempt to stop him, he pulled his M-9 up and aimed it at SlenderMan's head, and pulled the trigger.
BANG!!-
SlenderMan raised his hands, or tendrils, up to where his face should have been, met by a thick blood that poured from his forehead. He backed away from Micheal, and slipped on one of the edges of the black hole. SlenderMan tried to pull Micheal into the hole, but he somehow couldn't get the wound to regenerate quick enough to concentrate on his victim. He fell into the dark mass. Unable to comprehend what would happen next.
Micheal rose to his feet, walked to the hole, and saw SlenderMan falling down the seemingly botemless pit. "Serves you right, you son of a bitch." he said as he started to walk back to his home, he thought it would be safe to go back, since that monster was gone now.
SlenderMan fell to the 'bottom' of the hole, and found himself in a bright, blue. slightly cloudy sky. His tentacles flailed around and started to spasm. For once he was actually starting to feel fear. SlenderMan became closer, and closer to the ground. Somehow, he blacked out as he fell to the ground.
When he came to, he planted his tentacles into the grass, aiding him to rise to his feet. SlenderMan looked around and saw that he was definitely in a different place. He looked down to see his hands, and his feet were replaced by hooves. He reached up to his head, to realize that he actually had ears, ears that would belong to an animal, and that the hole in his head from the bullet had disappeared. He didn't really care about what had happened to him because he still had his arms, his legs, his tentacles, he was okay as long as he still had those. SlenderMan looked around and saw a small town in the distance. He also saw a few ponies with wings flying through the air. SlenderMan started to walk, but heard a noise behind him, he turned around to see the cause of the disturbance of silence. If he had a face, he would be grinning ear to ear, the faceless terror started to walk to the forest,The Everfree Forest.
(Author's note:this chapter does feature Micheal in the beginning, but this is the last chapter you see him in unless I need to bring him back, maybe I'll make him an important character, I don't know, but if you would like to see him in more chapters, tell me in the comments. And now, please enjoy the next chapter of the Equestrian Nightmare)
Micheal turned away from the black mass and started to walk home. The night had truly been...eventful. As he started his stroll, a piece of white paper caught his eye. He cocked an eyebrow, wondering if he should see what it was, so he walked to it and picked it up. He turned it around and saw one of the most horrifying sights in his life. It was a picture of a Siberian husky, with merely blank eyes(no pupils or irises), but it had an even more disturbing feature, a wide, demonic grin that made every hair on Micheal's body stand up.
Micheal turned the picture away, trying not to bring another horrible creature among him, but it was too late. As soon as he turned the picture, the dog forced it's way into his psyche, giving him a strong repetitive look of it's terrifying structure. Micheal couldn't take the nightmares and he didn't want any with that much of a traumatizing level ever again. He walked back to the hole, turned the photo away from his eyes, and dropped it into the black mass. It fell into the hole, not leaving a single sound in it's wake. Micheal's head was still scarred with the memory of that damned dog. But he felt like he could recover, so he continued to walk back home.
The photo fell through the hole and through the blue sky that followed. It fell to the huge, grassy plain. It lay there, not moving, inanimate, and still.
Two hours later, a stallion by the name of Silver Shade was taking a walk through the green meadow. He saw a piece of bright white paper lying in the grass. "Damn litterbugs, just some annoying ponies who hope to mess up the place and can't clean up after themselves." he said to himself. He picked up the paper with his hoof only to find out it was not a piece of litter, but it was a rather disturbing photo. It was the same picture that Micheal saw,but in a different form, the dog was in a darker room, the grin and eyes were more realistic, and a hand was in the corner, the hand seemed to be empty, but beckoning.
The sight of the photo sent a shiver down Silver's spine. He thought about it and wondered "maybe I should bring this back to Ponyville and ask if anypony knows what this picture is for, maybe it's some photo for some paranormal contest or whatever, but I just want to make sure." Silver Shade walked back to Ponyville, photo in hoof.
As Shade arrived in the village. He saw his friend, Caramel, standing at the Sweet Apple Acres sales cart, talking to Applejack. He started to canter towards the cart. As he got to his destination, he quickly slid to a halt. "Hey Silver." they said simultaneously. "What's got you so worked up?" asked Caramel. "T-This picture." said Silver as he hoofed the picture over to his two friends. "Whoa, where did y'all find this?" asked AJ with a raised eyebrow. "I found it in the meadows, while I was taking a walk. It was just lying there. I thought it was just some litter, but it was crisp white, and this picture really creeps me out, do either of you know anything about it?" they both shook their heads.
"Then who do you think I should ask about this?" Applejack pondered for a moment. "Hmm... ah think you should ask Fluttershy and Twilight about it, Shy is good with animals if she even knows what the hay this thing is, and if it's 'supernatural' or anythin' like that, she has books for stuff like that." Silver shrugged and nodded in agreement. "Alright, well I'm gonna go talk to Fluttershy about this, thanks for the suggestions AJ, bye!" said Shade as he trotted away with the photo. "Bye, Silver." they both said in unison. "What do you think that photo is?" asked Caramel. "Ah don't know, but I sure hope that Twi or Fluttershy know somethin' about it." replied Applejack as she hoofed an apple to a customer and took the bits in the other hoof.
Shade trotted up the path to Fluttershy's cottage. He approached the door and knocked "One second, please." came a small voice from behind the wooden door. A few seconds later, a small, yellow pegasus opened it. "Oh, um, hello Silver Shade, what brings you here?" asked Fluttershy. "Hey, Shy, I need some help with something, do you know what this is?" he hoofed her the photo. She turned it around and her eyes widened. "Oh, um, well, I'm sorry but I'm afraid I don't know what that is, it's really scary, that's all I know about it, some weird dog is my best guess."
Silver scowled at the picture, then looked back at Fluttershy. "That's alright, Shy.I'll just go see if Twilight has any idea what this thing is. Bye, and tell Angel I said hello." said Silver as he trotted away from her cottage. "Goodbye, and will do!" replied Fluttershy as she walked back inside
Thirty minutes later...
Silver Shade arrived at the door of the Golden Oaks library. He knocked on the door and a violet aura surrounded the door nob. "Welcome, Silver. What can I do for you?" asked Twilight. "Uh,Twi, I need your help with something." he replied as Twilight gestured him to come inside. "What do you need help with? Do you need to find a certain book or something?" she asked. Shade shook his head. "No, that's not it, I need to ask you if you know anything about this photo. He hoffed it over to her. The lavender mare examined the picture and put a hoof up to her chin. "Hmmmm...I think I remember seeing this picture somewhere. Spike, Spiiiiiike." a small, purple baby dragon ran down the stairs. "Yeah, Twilight? What is it?"
"Spike, get me the book on supernatural entities." The dragon saluted, nodded, and ran into one of the hallways of the library. "Found it!" Spike exclaimed as he came running back into the room. "Thanks, Spike." Twilight opened the book to table of contents. "Hmmm...AH HA!! Demonic creatures, page 77." the mare used her horn to turn to the right page. "Let's see...AH, here it is, The Smile Dog: a demonic creature with the capability of entering and possessing one's mind with the simple view of a photo. The photo is not included in this book for safety reasons. The photo allows the creature to enter the victim's mind and mentally stalk and torture until forcing them to commit suicide, or spread the word" Twilight dropped the book and her eyes widened. "What's wrong, Twilight?" asked Silver. She didn't respond, only staring blankly at the page. Finally, she looked back up to Silver, after a few seconds, she closed the book and finally said, "There's work to be done."

Blindsighted Sacrifice(Eyeless Jack and The Rake)
The Rake slowly followed the man that walked through the woods. The creature was suprised that ther was someone in the woods at this hour, but he didn't care. He would have another person to stalk and... to feed on later.
It stopped all movement as soon as the man stopped walking and turned around. Micheal's eyes widened and he spoke to himself "Oh fuck no! Please don't let there be something else!". He turned around and looked at his surroundings, and behind a small bush, only illuminated by the moonlight, were a pair of two eyes, staring at Micheal. The creature crawled around the bush, which gave Micheal a good glimpse of his new stalker.
The thing was crouched down and it seem to have large claws on it's hands. It started crawling towards Micheal, who was backing away now. He looked ahead and remembered the hole. He smirked and started to run towards the gaping mass. The Rake sprinted after Micheal with superhuman speed!
It tackled him to the ground but it seemed to still be running. It couldn't stop itself and it tripped on some grass. The Rake slipped off the edge and fell into the hole. It let out a deaphening screech as it fell. "GO TO HELL!!" screamed Micheal as he turned and started to run his way back. He'd had enough of this!! If he walked, he would just find something else.
He started to run as fast as he could back to his home.
Eyeless Jack teleported out of a house. He had killed some new victims and taken new organs to feast upon. He rose his hand to his face, which had a fresh taken lung. He moved it towards his face. A line appeared where a mouth should be. Jack took a bite out of the lung.
For some reason, Jack decided that he was done with the organ hunt for one night. He teleported towards the forest behind the neighborhood. As it started to walk, it discovered a black hole that was somehow swirling in the middle of the ground!
Jack walked closer to the hole. As he walked, he heard a rustling of leaves. And then he heard a gunshot.
BANG!!
Jack felt weird after hearing that. He looked down, only to see blood pouring from his chest. He couldn't keep his balance. The creature fell down off the edge. Even though it could usually make a scream, it couldn't provide any coherant sounds thanks to the wound. He fell, not able to make a sound.
The Rake fell through the bottom of the dark hole. It's shrieking strained it's vocal cords, making it unable to speak. The creature hit the ground with a deep thud. The impact made it's vision blur. As it tried to rise to it's normal position, something fell on him. The Rake fell hard on it's back, making it black out.
When he awoke, he realized that someone was lying atop of him. It was creature wearing a black hoodie. It looked like it's face was blank except for two black sockets where eyes should be. The Rake threw the creature off of himself. When it hit the ground, The Rake began to walk away, but noticed something rather peculiar.
It turned around to look at the entity. As it eyeballed the figure lying in front of him, he noticed that it wasn't a human. It had hooves, a mane, a tail, and the body of a pony. The Rake's blank eyes widened and it reached it's hands up to it's head. Thankfully, it had not made the same transformation. But then it noticed something. The horse in front of it started to move. The Rake turned in the opposite direction and started to crawl away as fast as it could. It dashed towards the Everfree forest, where it felt safe, and where it sensed it's master to be nearby.

Ponyville's new terror(Davenport vs. Jeff The Killer)
Davenport woke up in the middle of the night. He had a strong feeling that someone or something was watching him. The tan colored stallion's eyes darted around the room. The entire room was pitch black and a thunderstorm was raging outdoors, so Davenport had to stay in his quills & sofas store overnight. A chill ran up his spine and he gave the room another look. But, before he was able to view the whole room, he something standing in the hallway leading to the front window of the shop. A pair of two eyes were staring back at Davenport.
The figure stepped into the room, and then Davenport saw his face. A wide, horrifying smile was carved into his muzzle. His white jacket was covered and stained in what seemed to be the blood of past victims. His breath wreaked of death and his body had the stench of decay. Davenport then saw his eyes. Black circles surrounding two cold, dead, evil eyes staring at him, never blinking, never able to close.
Davenport heard the 'pony' say a simple, three worded phrase but he said it in way that a pony of insanity would say.
"GO TO SLEEP."
He then pulled out a knife, aimed at Davenport's stomach. He let out a scream, and that's what sent the killer on top of him. He jumped on to the sofa where Davenport was sleeping on. The tan stallion punched the killer in the face, then kicked him in the stomach. The impact of the punch and kick caused his attacker to fall off of the couch. Davenport got off te sofa and started to punch his attacker repeatedly.
The killer grabbed Daven's leg and twisted it, making him fall to the floor. He rose to his hooves and kicked Davenport HARD , causing him to roll to the other side of the room. Port then rose to his feet and ran towards the adversary. He saw that the killer was mirroring this by running toward him!
Daven's attacker jumped and tackled him to the floor. He pulled the knife up and thrusted it down! But n the blink of an eye, Davenport grabbed the killer's wrist and twisted it. A loud crack echoed through the entire store. Port's attacker dropped the knife and he caught it in his right hoof.
Now being the superior, Daven stabbed the knife into his adversary's stomach. The killer coughed up blood and it splattered in Davenport's face, but he didn't care. He then punched his target in the face.
While the brawl was occurring, a police pony was walking around ponyville, doing a simple patrol of the village. As he neared the quills & sofas shop, he heard a high and somewhat low pitched demonic growl. Followed by Davenport yelling.
"HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT, YOU BASTARD?!"
The patrol pony immediately took action after hearing this. He ran to the door of the shopand spoke.
"Hello, is anypony there?"
A loud shout emerged from the building.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!"
The officer cringed at that, and spoke again.
"If somepony doesn't answer this door, I will be forced kick it down!"
The room went silent. And the killer spoke to Davenport in his natural, deep voice.
"Shit! This isn't over!"
The killer then punched Davenport away and ran to the front window. Daven heard a loud crash sound like glass breaking, followed by a loud slashing sound. He rose to his hooves and walked to the window and gasped. He saw the officer with a slash mark in his neck.
He looked to his left, only to see the mysterious killer run off into the distance.

4:00 A.M.
Applejack woke up with a scream. Fear had really gotten to her and it was not being easy on her. Ponyville had been alerted of a serial killer lurking around the village. The most recent murder was only about two houses away from Rarity's boutique. She and Rarity had been sleeping together for a while now and since the murderer appeared, Applejack had been afraid for her and Rarity's lives.
She wiped the cold sweat from her brow and forehead. She then looked to her left, seeing the marshmallow colored mare sleeping next to her. Applejack felt light sorrow as she saw her marefriend, Rarity had slowly awoken from her slumber after hearing the scream. Rarity rose to sit next to Applejack. She immediately saw something was wrong when she saw AJ shivering. She then spoke to the frightened mare.
"What's wrong, Darling?"
Applejack only turned to look at her again. Her facial expression had explained enough to her and Rarity then wrapped a foreleg around her mare and pulled her close. AJ leaned her head on Rarity's shoulder, and a single tear rolled down her face.
Four ponies had been killed already and she knew each of them.
Colgate, Lyra, Roseluck,and Dr. Whooves.
Rarity kissed the top of Applejack's head and held her close.
"It's going to be okay, Applejack," Said Rarity with a saddened frown on her face and small tears welling in her own eyes. "At least we know none of our friends are hurt. Twilight and the others are still alive, and that's what matters now. We need to remember that we also have each other. And I swear to Celestia, if that sick pony even comes near you, well, you might not want to know what I'll do."
They both chuckled at that, and Applejack looked up at Rarity, and she glanced back. They looked at each other intently, and their lips met.
About ten seconds later, the kiss broke. And Applejack began to talk "And if he or she comes near you, they'll be beggin' for mercy when I'm done with 'em."
"Well, thank you." Said Rarity with a ladylike voice, followed by a giggle from both her and AJ.
"Well Applejack, you don't have to worry about him or her, ever!! There is not a single thing I wouldn't do for you, darling." Said Rarity with a nuzzle to Applejack's neck
"So you won't even be afraid to get your hooves muddy if I got stuck in the everfree forest?" Asked Applejack in a joking voice.
Rarity rolled her eyes, smirked, and spoke" You just love to get under my skin, don't you?" AJ tried to stifle a giggle "Yep!"
"And I love you for that." Said Rarity with a smile. Applejack blushed and replied "And I love you too."
Rarity kissed AJ deeply. Applejack returned the kiss. They parted again and Rarity stroked AJ's mane. "What scared you so much though? Did you have a nightmare?"
Applejack frowned "Yeah, I don't wanna talk about it though."
"Are you sure darling? I can help you deal with whatever it was."
Applejack sighed "Well, it just ended up with you being killed and me not bein' able to do anything." Another tear rolled down Applejack's cheek. Rarity wrapped her foreleg around AJ and nuzzled her chest "Applejack, I'm sorry I brought that up, I should have dropped the subject when you said you didn't want to talk about it."
AJ sniffled "It's alright Rarity, you were just trying to see if you could help, the important thing is that I still have you, and that's all that matters to me." Her marefriend slightly smiled from hearing that.
"I just wish I could get away from it all." said AJ.
"Well, Applejack, fear is something we cannot run away from. You cannot escape fear, but you definitely can overcome and conquer it."
Applejack smiled. Rarity was right, fear isn't a thing you can escape, but you can conquer it if you put your mind to it and be brave.
"Thanks Rarity, that helps a lot."
"It's quite alright Applejack, that's one of the things a marefriend is there for, to help her mare when she is in need."
AJ then yawned. "Okay, I think it's time that we go back to bed."
"I agree. Even though tomorrow is a day off for me, I still need my beauty sleep."
"I don't get that though, you're beautiful the way you are, Rares."
"First, thank you, and second, I don't know what I mean by that either to be honest." Rarity replied with a slight chuckle.
"Alright, let's get back to sleep, g'night."
"Good night." Rarity then turned off the lamp and turned to wrap her arm around AJ.
Applejack somehow felt safer with Rarity. There was something between them that felt like it drew them closer every second they were together. And it made them truly happy.
After a little while, Applejack heard a small snore come from the white mare beside her. She then smiled, closed her eyes, and let the peaceful bliss of slumber wash over her.

Grin Part 2(Investigation of the Smile Dog)
Where we last left off in 'Grin'...
Silver Shade opened the door to the library and allowed Twilight to walk through the door before him. She had the picture of Smile Dog held within the aura of her magic. Shade had set a small bonfire in the front yard of the library.
"Are you sure this is a good idea, lighting in a fire in front of a tree?" Asked Silver.
"I know it seems a bit strange, but we need to destroy this photo, we can't risk anypony taking their own lives or ruining the lives of others. I don't care if the legend about this damned dog is true. I just want everypony to be safe."
She and Shade sat in front of the fire. Admiring the night sky. It had taken hours for them to look through all the books about supernatural creatures and myths, but it was all futile, so this was their last resort, to destroy the picture.
"Well, let's hope for the best." Twilight said as she stood up, photo in hoof. She then took a deep breath and dropped the photo into the flames, watching it burn.
The last thing Twilight saw of the picture was the two marble like eyes as they then burned along with the rest of it.
The two ponies extinguished the fire after their job was done. Twilight then spoke. "Alright, well I'm gonna have to go inside and close up and prepare for tomorrow."
"Yeah, I don't really want to be outside for very long, what with that killer on the loose." Shade replied "Well, bye Twilight." he said with a wave of his hoof.
"Bye, Silver. Come again soon." replied the purple mare with the same waving gesture. Twilight then closed the door and went to her bedroom. It had been a long day.
Twilight slumped onto her bed. She then pulled the covers over herself and fell asleep.
The Awakening(Villains Meet)
Jeff ran to the outskirts of the village. He stopped and looked behind him, seeing three police ponies chasing after him with flashlights.
"Shit." Jeff muttered to himself. He looked ahead and continued to run. He crossed and cobblestone bridge and stopped. In front of Jeff was a large, crystal blue lake.
Ponyville Lake.
Jeff then looked down and saw a bright shine from one of the cop’s flashlights. He turned around and saw all three police ponies pointing their pistols and lights at him.
The officer in the center narrowed his eyes “Put your hooves up now and nobody has to get hurt.”. Jeff mentally scoffed at this. After years of killings, he was not going down this easily. Jeff put his hooves up, preparing himself. The officer slowly trotted to him with hoof cuffs. As he stepped behind him, Jeff quickly pulled his hooves back and punched the officer in the muzzle. He fell to the ground, grasping his face with his hooves. Jeff pulled the police pony’s hooves away and rushed the blade down into his skull.
CRACK
Jeff grunted as he pulled the blade out of the dead pony’s head. The two other cops raised their guns and opened fire. Jeff ducked, dodged and weaved the bullets. He threw his stained knife at one of the cops. His aim was precise and it hit him straight in the arm. The pony’s pistol fell to the dirt along with him. The officer reached for his weapon but it was too late. Jeff took his knife and slashed the pony’s neck. Blood sprayed out of the gash onto Jeff’s scarred face.
Jeff turned around and glared at the last officer, this time grinning and laughing uncontrollably. Jeff rose to his hooves and slowly walked towards the officer. He backed away from the killer, aimed down the sight of his weapon and fired.
BANG
Jeff ignored the pain and urged forward. Jeff then tackled the cop and began to throw punch after punch after punch upon his head. He then got back up and stabbed the officer’s stomach and pulled it upward toward his chest. The killer ripped his victim’s torn flesh open. Jeff removed every organ in sight, one. by. one.
Jeff’s victim could not even let out a whisper as his life faded away. He saw the officer’s eyes close and knew his job was done. The killer grabbed the discarded organs and threw them into the lake and saw how they sank like rocks. He then tossed the bodies into the water with all his might, one at a time.
He chuckled as he saw the body he had gutted sank to the bottom, unlike the other two, as they just floated among the surface.
Jeff turned around and walked away from the scene, and walked slowly to the Everfree Forest.
A pale-skinned head emerged from one of the bushes. Her black eyes staring at the murderous pony, scowling at him as she slowly lowered back into the bush.
As Jeff entered the forest, he saw something that looked oddly familiar. What he saw was a circle with an X inside of it, carved into the bark of one of the trees. His eyes widened as flashbacks flooded his head, he remembered it all unfolding. The forest, the battle, the branch sliding through his torso as he was left to burn…
Jeff grasped his head, trying to make the memory go away. He shook his head the best he could, thankfully for him it worked. Jeff rose to his hooves. Reluctantly, he continued to walk into the forest.
As he reached the middle of the dark wood, he thought he saw what seemed to be like a four legged creature walking among the branch of one of the trees.
Suddenly, a tentacle appeared and slashed Jeff across the face. The appendage then wrapped tightly around his neck and pulled him up off his hooves. His captor then materialized in front of his face. Jeff recognized the creature instantly. It had the same blank, face the same suit, and the tentacles. The faceless monster began speaking a quiet whisper
“Well, so nice to see you again.”
Jeff started to speak “What the fuck are you doing here? I thought-
“What? That you actually had defeated me?” Slendermane interrupted with a chuckle.
Jeff scowled at the mockery. Slendermane then spoke in a cold, harsh whisper “I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but this is MY FOREST!!” as he slammed Jeff into the ground with his tentacle. He rose the killer back up, and as he did so, he looked up at the one of the trees and nodded. He looked behind and repeated the gesture.
THUD
Slendermane and Jeff looked ahead and saw the same four legged creature that Jeff had witnessed minutes ago. A loud WHOOSH was heard as Jeff saw a pony wearing a black hoodie. It apparently had no eyes and a dark black fluid was dripping from the sockets.
“Who the fuck are these people?” Jeff asked in a shocked tone.
“Oh, them? Just some ‘helpers’ of mine. They’ll be disposing of what’s left of you once I’m finished with you.” Another one of Slendermane’s tentacles started to sharpen itself into the form a razor sharp blade
“WAIT!” Jeff demanded.
“Why should I?” the faceless creature asked as he slammed him into a tree.
“This could either end the hard way with me cutting your tentacle right off and you losing another forest to fire, or it could go the easy way.
Slendermane mentally frowned at this. “So I’m guessing you’re saying we’re going to have to work something out.” He said, reluctantly.
“Okay, fine let’s work something out.” Jeff replied.
“What do you suggest then?” Slendermane asked.
Jeff looked over into the distance and saw the innocent village of Ponyville. He scowled and turned back and looked back his adversary.
“See that village over there?? He asked.
The faceless creature turned his head to see said location. “Yes, why?” he asked.
“Well, apparently, there happens to be lots of residents there who I can guarantee will do whatever we tell them to do if we just bring enough fear into them.”
“What are you meaning?” asked Slendermane.
What I mean is if we could kill or scare enough of those fuckers, we could take over it and make it ours to control, and we could kill whoever, whenever.”
Slendermane seemed convinced. A town to himself, and the ability to kill whoever he wanted at whenever he wished and however he wished seemed like something worth the effort.
“Okay, fine, I’m in, but under one condition.” He said as he slammed Jeff into the tree again.
“What?” he asked.
“We do this under my command and my rules.”
“Fine.” Jeff said, rolling his eyes.
Slendermane dropped Jeff from his grip and walked away, gesturing his minions to follow.
“So gullible.” Jeff said with a chuckle.
The Message(Villains Trasnmission)
Rarity sighed as she witnessed all her hard work from the day had finally paid off. The dress was beautiful. It was orange with purple stripes swirling continuously around every side. Many diamonds and other gems were lined up along the stripes, shimmering from the glow of the light illuminating the room. The white unicorn looked at the clock on the other side of the room.
‘10:30 P.M.’
She yawned. “I suppose it’s about time to get some sleep, I better go check on Sweetie Belle and make sure she’s in bed.” Rarity said to herself. The white unicorn opened the door of her inspiration room and walked down the hallway. She then saw a purple colored door with a pink sparkled star on the top of the door. She opened it and stepped in. The lights were all turned off. Rarity walked over to the small bed in the corner of the room and saw a small unicorn filly sleeping soundly.
This made her smile, Sweetie Belle looked so peaceful, it was just so cute to her. She lowered her head and gave Sweetie Belle a small kiss on the forehead before turning around and walking out of the room, closing the door. Rarity walked back to her bedroom, turning off the light, stepping into her bed, and putting on her sleep mask.
Just as she was upon the border of slumber…
*CRASH*
A window broke down the hall. Rarity shot up out of her bed, ripped off the sleep mask and ran down the hallway to Sweetie Belle’s room. She quickly opened the door. Her eyes widened.
The window was broken and she saw the end of a long black tentacle slither out of the hole in the window. Rarity looked over and saw Sweetie was gone! She looked back over to the window and ran to it. Rarity saw the same tentacle slither onto the roof. Rarity casted a teleportation spell and appeared on the roof of the boutique. But as soon as she reached the roof, no one was there except for her, so Sweetie’s kidnapper was gone and she didn’t know where they went.
“No…” Rarity said to herself, a tear streaming down her face.
Applejack sighed as she walked to Twilight’s door and knocked. She waited for a few moments and no one answered. She knocked again and the door opened.
“Hey Applejack.” Twilight said with a smile.
“Hey Twi.” AJ responded
“Would you like to come in?” Twilight said with a gesture of her hoof.
“Sure. Thanks.” The orange mare replied. Applejack walked in and Twilight closed the door.
“So, how are you and Rarity, if you don’t mind me asking.” Asked Twilight.
“We’re doing pretty well, I miss her though. I haven’t seen her in a few days. How are you and Rainbow Da-“
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
Applejack was cut off by something banging on the door. Twilight walked over to open it and saw Rarity, panting from exhaustion.
“Rarity? What’s wrong?” Twilight asked.
Rarity caught her breath and regained her composure. She began to speak.
“Sweetie Belle is missing.” Rarity answered. Twilight’s and AJ’s eyes widened.
“What?” They both asked in unison.
“Someone, or some thing , took her. I was about to fall asleep and I heard a window break in her room. I ran to her room and some sort of appendage had her and it pulled her out of the window.”
“Um, Rarity, are you sure this really happened?” asked Twilight. Rarity nodded.
“Twilight, I know what I saw.” She said flatly.
“Can you please help me try to find her?” Asked Rarity. Twilight nodded. Applejack got up out of her chair and spoke.
“I’ll help you Rarity, we’ve gotta get the others though.”
“Yeah, if we’re going to find Sweetie Belle, we’re going to need them. The more ponies searching for her, the more likeliness that we’ll find her.” said Twilight.
“Alright, let’s go.” Rarity added.
“Let’s go get Fluttershy first.” said Twilight as she lead AJ and Rarity toward the cottage.
On top of one of the tall houses next to the library stood a figure, wearing a white hooded jacket with black hair. It smiled, even with grin cut into its face, as it watched the three ponies run.
Once they arrived, they were panting from exhaustion. Twilight knocked on the door and heard a high, chirpy voice say “Hold on a second!” in just that moment of time, Pinkie Pie opened the door. “Hi girls, what brings you here?” Twilight gained her composure “Hey, Pinkie, do you know where Fluttershy is?” Pinkie nodded “She’s right over here.” she said with a gesture to the couch. Fluttershy was sitting on the couch, reading a book. Pinkie, along with the others, walked to her marefriend. “Flutters, we’ve got guests.” Pinkie gave her a nuzzle to pull her out of her personal world. The yellow Pegasus closed the book and greeted them. “Oh, hello, girls.” She said with a smile.
“Hi, Flutteshy.” Twilight replied. “We need you and Pinkie to come with us. It’s an urgent matter.”
Fluttershy gave a puzzled look at the unicorn “What’s the occasion? Isn’t it a little late?”
“I’m afraid we don’t have much time to explain yet, this is serious!” Rarity replied. Applejack nodded in agreement. “We really need your help.”
Twilight spoke “I’ll explain everything when we get back to the library but first, we need to get Rainbow Dash.”
Fluttershy, though confused, obliged to join them. If this situation truly was as important as they said it was, she would be glad to do her part. Pinkie, on the other hand, had no problem agreeing with her friends. Apparently, her enthusiasm met no bounds.
As they left the cottage, they started the walk for Rainbow Dash’s cloud house.
They arrived about twenty minutes later. Fluttershy was the first to speak. Since I’m the only other Pegasus out of all of us, I think it would be a good idea for me to fly up there and see if she’s still awake.”
Her friends nodded in agreement. She flapped her wings and ascended to the window at the top of the cloud mansion. Shy tapped at the window a few times, but with no response, except for a loud snore. Reluctantly, she smacked her hoof at the window, making a much louder noise than before. Rainbow Dash slightly snorted as she shot up with a start. She looked at the noise, and saw her friend floating outside the window. She let out a slight sigh of relief as she stepped over to the glass. She opened the window.
“Fluttershy? What are you doing here?” she asked in slight confusion “It’s, like, one in the morning!”
“The girls really need our help. Apparently, it’s really urgent. We’re all following her to the library. Twilight will tell us more about it when we get there.” Dash looked at the ground, seeing her friends waving. Seeing Twilight made her heart skip a beat. ”Okay, well, if it’s important, I guess we better get going.” Said Dash as she flew down to meet up with her friends, followed by ‘Shy. As they finished their descent, the six walked to their final destination of the night.
The Golden Oaks Library.
Once they arrived, Twilight opened the door and gestured them to step inside and take a seat. Once seated, the five friends waited for Twilight. She was standing in front of them, in the center of the room. She cleared her throat, and began to speak.
“Girls, I have an important announcement. Earlier tonight, Rarity’s little sister, Sweetie Belle, was kidnapped.” Her friends, except for Rarity, let out a gasp.
“Apparently, she was captured while she was sleeping in her room. The window was broken and she was taken out of her room. If my memory serves me correct, she was taken at approximately 10:30 P.M. tonight, right Rarity?” The white colored mare shed a single tear as she nodded. “Rarity, could you please explain what you saw?” Rarity let out a small sigh.
“I saw her window broken, and when I ran in, and before I could do anything, I saw a black appendage slither out of the room.”
When Rainbow Dash heard this flashbacks flooded her head. A young foal in the middle of the forest, it’s organs strung across the trees and branches, and tall black figure, the long, black limbs that writhed from its back.
Rarity hung her head low. Applejack reached her hoof around Rares’ shoulder, and held her close. Rarity started to cry. Applejack whispered to her
“It’s gonna be okay, Rares, we’ll find her. It’ll be alright.”
Twilight then spoke “I’ve noticed that Ponyville has taken various casualties over the past few weeks. Ever since, I’ve kept a radio on just in case there’s been any news on what has been happening. As of now, I have no idea whether Sweetie’s disappearance is a part of this, but I think there might be more than one culprit involved in her kidnapping and the killings.”
Rainbow asked her friend “Well, have you heard anything about it?” The unicorn shook her head.
“No, not yet. All I’ve heard is normal weather forecasts or things of that sort. There hasn’t been a lot of information, even though this should be their main concern.” Twilight suddenly cringed as she heard a strange noise coming from the kitchen. Twilight gestured for her friends to follow her. When they walked in, Twilight realized it was the radio. The only noise coming from the speakers was a strange static. This was unusual. The radio was never like this. She sat down at the table and asked
“Dash, can you get me some batteries out of the bottom drawer on the far left on the counter?” Dash nodded and opened the drawer, retrieving said objects. She handed the two batteries to Twilight. She inserted them and repositioned the antenna.
Still static.
“Maybe we should just for a second for the signal to come back.” Said Twilight as she placed it down. After a few moments the static had settled. She let out a small chuckle of relief, thankful that something wasn’t wrong with it. A voice ended the silence, but it wasn’t the voice Twilight was used to hearing in a news update. It was darker, it seemed more ominous. Like the voice that only a madman could possess.
“Hello, everyone. My name’s Jeff. You might not know me as of now, but oh well, you’ll get to know me in due time. The deaths you’ve heard of in the recent news updates, they’re just the beginning. I’m going to let you in on a little secret.” Jeff chuckled “If we don’t kill everyone in your precious village, they’re be our slaves until their last breath.”
“I suppose I can’t save everyone from this world. But this village will not be our only target. What do I mean by ‘our target’ you may ask? Well, I’m not the only killer here. No, if you need a job done, you need the right ‘allies’ to do the job.”
Slendermane stared at the innocent foal through the window. He rose his hoof and set the tip against the window, making a feint screeching noise. The colt blinked and looked to the source of the noise. He saw nothing there. Just as he was about to turn his head, Slendermane grabbed him from behind turned him around. The foal tried to scream but no noise came from his throat. He was completely frozen! The last thing the young foal had seen was a thin smile slowly appear on the faceless creature’s head, and static, before everything faded to black.
The Rake grinned widely as he continued to devour the creature before him. This was the final kill for the night. Between mouthfuls of flesh, he let out shrill whispers of joy. His meal was cut short when her heard footsteps along with the sight of lights turning on. His eyes darted to the right as he turned around. Big Macintosh was staring at the creature, eyes wide. A single tear rolled down his face at the sight. He grit his teeth as he started to chase the creature. The Rake let out a shriek as it fled. The front door still left ajar. The Rake was too fast for Big Mac.
The creature fled until it was out of Mac’s view. He grunted and turned to look at the corpse. The stallion cried at the sight of Winona’s body.
Eyeless Jack kicked the body away from him. Davenport lay dead on the floor, in a pool of blood. He took a bite out of the kidney before swallowing the rest of it whole. Jack looked down at the body and gave it a final kick to the chest before instantly dashing away.
“If you’re listening to this broadcast, notice that I have received the address of everyone in this village and I know exactly where you are. For instance, one of you lives with a DJ, and are a member of an orchestra. One of you lives in a house, not far from the center of the village, and used to live with someone named Lyra. One of you lives in a library, and is quite the bookworm.” Twilight’s friends gave a shocked look at her. Her eyes were wide and she was shaking.
“The list goes on and on.”
“You aren’t safe. If I don’t get you, one of my special ‘friends’ will.”
“I’ll be waiting, GO. TO. SLEEP.”
The transmission ended in static...
The Surprise(The Final Transmission)
Twilight was still shaking. She was truly terrified. A vicious serial killer had known her exact location. Her mind and her heart raced. What was she going to do? If she stayed in the library for the night, she, spike and Owlicious would not survive.
“Fuck.” Said Rainbow. “What are we going to do, now?”
“I-I don’t know.” Replied Twilight with a stutter. He, or it knows where I live, what am I going to do?”
Applejack spoke “I think we should stay here and be with Twilight for the night. If there’s more of us, we can make sure Twilight and Spike are safe.”
“Are you alright with that, Twi?” The unicorn nodded. “Thank you, girls.” Her friends accepted her gratitude. Rainbow walked to Twilight and held her close. “If it will help you stay safe, I’ll stay as long as you need me to.” Rainbow said with a kiss on her marefriend’s forehead.
“It’s getting pretty late. We should try to get some rest.” Said Fluttershy.
“You’re right” Replied Applejack. “Tomorrow, Rarity and I will go and try to look around town and see if we can find anything related to Sweetie Belle or whoever that was on the radio. Rarity nodded to show her agreement.
“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Asked Pinkie Pie. “If he knows where Twilight lives, he’ll surely know where you are.”
“My marefriend’s sister is missing, and she and I care about her too much. If being in danger means keeping Rarity and her family alive, it’s a risk I’m willing to take.” Rarity smiled, knowing Applejacks dedication to her.
“Let’s just get some rest.” Said Rainbow, still holding Twilight. The six friends went to Twilight’s bedroom.
They all settled into the room. Dash was lying next to Twilight, holding her. Pinkie and Fluttershy volunteered to sleep on the floor. Rarity and Applejack were sleeping on the bed on the opposite side as Twilight’s.
The lavender mare almost immediately fell asleep despite her fear.
Twilight walked along a narrow dirt path. She could only see inches in front of her. With her magic and the moonlight illuminating the air around her. As she walked along the dirt ground, she found a white piece of paper, lying feet in front of her. She couldn’t help but notice it looked really crisp, like it had been gently placed there, just so she could see it.
Twilight picked up the paper. She cringed when she saw what the text said.
YOU CANNOT SAVE THEM. YOU CANNOT SAVE THEM. YOU CANNOT SAVE THEM. YOU CANNOT SAVE THEM. DEATH IS COMING. YOU CANNOT SAVE THEM.
YOU CANNOT SAVE HER. .
Twilight dropped the letter, in fear and confusion. What did the letter mean when it said ‘You can’t save them, or death is coming? Was she going to die? Were any of her friends? But then, her thoughts traced back to that last sentence.
You cannot save her.
That sentence made her think the unthinkable. Rainbow Dash could die. And she couldn’t do anything about it. She blinked, and her eyes opened, to see a tall, faceless creature, wearing a black suit. Twilight’s eyes widened and she backed away. Even though, moving away from the entity, it continued to stare at her. It slowly started to walk after her. The lavender mare had backed into a tree.
The creature rose one of its hooves, and revealed Rainbow Dash, with fear in her eyes. Several tentacles emerged from the creature’s back . One of them started to straighten. The appendage eventually sharpened into that of a black, slim blade.
It whispered to Twilight “You cannot save her.” Before preparing the blade-appendage, and quickly stabbing Rainbow in the heart.
“NO!!” Twilight screamed. Rainbow Dash screamed in pain, blood starting to pour from her mouth. The creature dropped Dash to the ground. She had died nearly immediately. Twilight yelled at SlenderMane. “YOU MONSTER!!”
Her horn glowed, and she blasted at the creature with her magic. The shot was unsuccessful, as the entity merely faded away, before it had a chance to hit.
Twilight had awoken in a cold sweat. She sat up and looked around to assure where she was.
The library, and Rainbow Dash was right next to her. She let out a sigh of relief, knowing it was just a bad dream. She wasn’t going to try to go back to sleep, not right now. She need something to clear her mind, badly. She slowly got up out of her bed, a cup of tea on her mind. As she was walking, she heard a faint scratching at the bedroom door, along with panting. How could she hear that? There wasn’t a dog in the building, was there? Twilight stepped slowly toward the door.
Arriving at the door, Twilight opened it quickly. What she found, however, was a quiet, untouched library. At this, Twilight was confused. The mare looked at the door. It had several scratch marks on it. This wasn’t normal. But Twilight decided to just dismiss it for now. She wasn’t ready for more fear or stress.
She walked down the steps into the kitchen. She had a small pitcher of tea in the refrigerator, so whenever she had been in situations like this, she could drink tea without making much noise. She poured it into a cup. As she drank, she tried to recollect what happened in that dream.
She could only remember slight flashes. The rest was a blur. But there was one part that was etched into her memory, and she hated it. Twilight looked out the window, seeing that the sun was rising. Knowing her friends would probably be waking up soon, especially Rarity and Applejack, she placed the cup into the sink and walked back upstairs.
As she silently entered, she saw Rainbow Dash’s arm search for her, trying to hold her. Dash opened her eyes to look for her marefriend. She saw Twilight, standing at the foot of the bed, smiling.
“How come you’re awake so early?” Rainbow said with a small chuckle. “I’ll tell you about it later, Dash.” She replied, stepping back into the bed.
“Are you alright, Twi? If there’s something wrong, you can tell me.” She said with slight concern.
“No, no, I’m okay.” She answered. “I just couldn’t sleep.” Rainbow didn’t believe her. Twilight was never up this late, except for when she would be studying. But she knew that wasn’t the case. Something was wrong. She was sure of it. Her voice sounded shaky, like she was looking for an excuse.
“Twilight, seriously, what’s wrong? You aren’t fooling me.”
The unicorn’s smile slowly faded and she looked down and sighed. “Come downstairs, I’ll tell you.” She said, reluctantly.
“Oh my God.” Rainbow said with a slight gasp. After hearing what Twilight could remember from her dream, she was heartbroken by seeing her marefriend start to cry. She wrapped a hoof around Twilight’s shoulders and held her.
Rainbow knew what monster Twilight was describing in her dream. SlenderMane. The same thing she met and fought in the forest.
With this, Dash was confused, thoughts flashed in her head. Should she tell Twilight? Should she keep it to herself? What should she do? After a short time of thinking, she decided it would be best to tell Twilight about her encounter.
“Twilight?” she asked
“Yes?” replied Twilight, calming down from her sadness.
“There’s something that I really need to tell you.” She said as her marefriend lifted her head.
“What is it?”
“That creature, the one you described, I’ve seen it before.” Twilight cringed after hearing this. “No, that’s impossible, there’s no way that thing could be real.” She replied.
“It is, Twi. I saw it in the Everfree forest. I was doing Weather Patrol and I heard a scream from below. I entered the forest. I was looking for the source of the scream. While I was looking, I saw a foal, or her body..”
Twilight couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Rainbow had to be joking or at least pretending to tell the truth to make her feel more comfortable. But something in her mind knew, Rainbow was telling the truth.
“It came to me, and we ended up getting into a fight. I-“
“Wait, you said you fought that thing?” Asked Twilight, shocked at what Dash had just said.
“Yeah, but I-“
“What were you thinking, Dash?”
“Twi, that thing struck at me first, it was going to kill me. I needed to fight back, really I did.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, Dash. I just thought of my dream and thought that could have happened to you.” She answered, feeling slightly guilty.
“It could have Twilight, but that’s why we have to be careful. “
“What should we do now?” she asked Rainbow. “We need to try to find something about this thing. I think you should go into town, and see what you can find. Ask ponies about it. Maybe we can find out if it had anything to do with Sweetie Belle.” Twilight thought for a second, then obliged. After all, Rainbow did have some good points. If she knew more about it, she could maybe know how to stop it, somehow, if it was possible.
Twilight spoke “I have to get something, I’ll be right back.” She went to the main room and lifted a book from the bookshelf. She read the cover to assure it was the right book.
Paranormal Creatures and Demonic Entities
She brought the book over to the kitchen table where she and Rainbow were sitting. Twilight lipped through the pages and realized something. Page 77, the page about the photo of the grinning dog, was missing. Torn clean out of the book.
“Hm?” Twilight mumbled. Rainbow saw the cause of her concern.
“Oh, who do you think did this?” She asked.
“I don’t know.” She answered. Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of footsteps. The noise came from Applejack and Rarity. “Hey, girls.” Said AJ. “We’re gonna head out and see what we can find about Sweetie Belle. We’ll be back again later, and we’ll tell y’all if we find anything.”
“Okay, Applejack, you two stay safe, alright?” Rainbow gestured
“We will.”
Applejack allowed Rarity to step out first, and closed the door behind her. Twilight was still looking at the missing page, shocked. Who tore the page out of the book? She knew her friends wouldn’t be disrespectful like that. So who could have done it? Could it mean..
No. She knew that wasn’t possible. She saw that picture burn in the fire. It wasn’t possible that the photo could be back and removed itself from the book. It couldn’t be that. She turned the pages again, but she found nothing about SlenderMane. And page 77 was the only page that spoke of Smile Dog.
“Great, this makes our search even harder.” Said Rainbow.
“I’m going to go out and see what I can find.”
“Okay, well, be safe, Twi.” Rainbow gave Twilight a kiss on the lips.
“Thanks, baby.” She replied, returning the kiss. “I will.”
Twilight stood up and walked out the door.
As Twilight walked down the dirt path, she thought back to what had happened earlier. What was scratching her door, and why was that page missing? And that dream made it even worse. Was there something out to kill her? Were they toying with her?
How could so much happen in one night? Was that dog real? Her thoughts were interrupted by a single voice.
“Hey Twilight!” the mare looked to where the noise came from. It was Silver Shade. Twilight walked up to him.
“Hi Silver.” She answered. “How have you been?” Silver shrugged.
“It’s been good. But, what about you? You don’t look so well.” Twilight had a clear expression of stress.
“Well, Rarity’s little sister, Sweetie Belle went missing last night. We don’t know what or who could have taken her.” She gestured for him to follow her. “Other than that, other things happened that night that just made it worse. We heard a disturbing message on the radio. It was somepony, or something, saying they knew the location of everyone in Ponyville. After we heard that, the girls decided to stay at the library with me for the night.”
“That’s really kind of them, you really do have good friends, Twilight.” He replied.
“That’s not all.” This time, Twilight wasn’t going to tell what happened in her dream. “Do you remember that picture that you found with that grinning dog?” Silver nodded “Yes, why do you ask?”
“I think it came back.” She said flatly. Silver cringed at this. “No, that’s impossible, it was destroyed. An object can’t regenerate itself after being burnt.”
“Then, why are there scratch marks on my door? And why is the page regarding that photo missing in my book?” She asked
“Wait, what?” he inquired, confused by this.
“I looked in the book to see if it had any more information on that photo. It was torn from the book. The entire page is missing.” Silver pondered for a moment. “Do you think someone could have broken in?”
“Who would enter the library in the middle of the night, take a page from a book and scratch a door?” She did have a good point. Having that idea shot down, he had no further ideas.
“Hey Twilight, I have to go get something from my house, I’ll be back out later.”
“Okay, I need to be alone for a little while, I have to think. If this photo starts to become a detriment to us, or the rest of Ponyville, were going to have a major problem. We need to try to find a way to get rid of it for good.” Silver agreed with her. He left after their conversation ended.
As Twilight continued to walk, she tried to think of logic in this situation. But there wasn’t any! She could try her hardest to explain it even to herself, but she couldn’t. How can a physical object regenerate or reappear like that page did. How could there actually be a creature that could come to life after only being on paper. At least, what creature could without aid from a spell? How was that entity in her dream a physical being?
The hours seemed to fly like a bird. She asked many other folks in the village, but seldom any could describe the same phenomena that Twilight inquired of. One pony even asked Twilight if she had taken any medication. She was living with a clean mind. She was completely sane, and she knew that, and so did her friends.
The day was unsuccessful. She gained no information about the missing page, or Slendermane. She couldn’t find anything. After realizing this, she thought it would be best if she just went home. Rainbow Dash would be there or at least some of her friends. Her thoughts were interrupted by a hoof tapping her shoulder . She let out a small scream and swung her arm back.
“OUCH!” She turned around and Silver Shade was holding his nose. Apparently, she had hit him really hard.
“Fuck. Silver, don’t scare me like that. Now is not the time!”
“Sorry, Twilight, I just wanted to mess with you. I Didn’t think that I’d get smacked in the face like that.”
“I’ve just been paranoid, so in a way it’s both of our faults.” They continued to walk “I haven’t found anything at all. I don’t think I will either.” She stepped up to a building that had caught her attention. It was a store that sold picture frames and portraits. She looked across the small variety of frames and photos until she saw something that made her blood go cold. It was a photo of a smiling husky. The eyes stared into her soul. The feature she recognized the most was a large grin across the dog’s face.
The sound of static developed in Twilight’s ears. She turned to her right to see Slendermane behind Silver Shade.
“Oh my God. SILVER SHADE!! RUN!!” he turned around and saw the entity behind him. “OH SHIT!”
“FOLLOW ME, SILVER!!” she exclaimed as she ran. Shade followed. The two saw the library in the distance. Twilight looked backed and saw Slendermane following them in a quick walk. She looked ahead and as she turned her head, she heard the sound of a dog barking at them.
Twilight and Silver Shade felt relief as they saw the entrance of the library. Twilight used her magic to open the door. She ran in, let Silver enter and slammed the door.
“Twilight? Is that you? Are you alright?” Twilight jumped at the sound, only to sigh in relief at seeing that it was Rarity walking down the stairs.
“No, we are not. We were chased all the way back here.” She replied in between breaths. Applejack and the others stepped down the stairs. Rainbow Dash hurried to her marefriend and tried to comfort her somehow.
“I’m okay now. I just need to clear my mind.” The unicorn walked into the kitchen and poured a glass of tea. Twilight stopped drinking as she heard a feint sound of interference coming from the radio on the table. “Girls? Has the radio been on all day?” she asked
Dash replied “Yeah, we kept it on to see if there was anything else to know about what’s been going on. Why?” Twilight pointed at the radio, making the same noise. The static-like noise stopped for a brief second before a familiar voice played on the speaker.
“Hello Twilight. I guess my friends gave you and your buddy quite the scare, didn’t they? Well, if you thought that was bad, then you’ve barely scraped the surface of what they can unleash. And that reminds me that I have someone keeping me company. Someone you might know very well, or at least, your friend, Rarity, might know.
A muffled voice resembled one being bound so they couldn’t speak. They voice cleared for a moment.
“TWILIGHT RARITY! HELP M-“ the voice was muffled once again. The speaker chuckled. “You know, this reminds me that I have a VERY special surprise for you and your friends if you come to the Everfree Forest.”
“Be there soon. Don’t keep me waiting.”
The message ended with static. Twilight stood up and spoke “Silver, and the rest, pack whatever you need, because we’re leaving tonight.”
“Where are we going?” asked Rainbow.
Twilight turned around and flatly answered “The Everfree Forest.”
The seven friends began their long trek toward the Everfree Forest. Their Mission was simple: find Sweetie Belle and her captors, and do whatever was necessary to stop them from coming back to Equestria.
They all spoke of all the recent experiences they had that led to this current situation. They didn't know how these strangers had arrived, and why they were so interested in antagonizing not only them, but the town.
Rarity was the quietest of the bunch. She wanted to be alone with her thoughts. The unicorn tried to think of reasons her sister was taken away form her. Did she do something wrong? Did she not give Sweetie Belle enough attention? Was she really not good enough of a sister, that Sweetie Belle would, or should be abducted?
These thoughts caused tears to run down Rarity's cheeks. Applejack noticed this and immediately came to her side to comfort her.
“Rarity, don't worry. Sweetie Belle is okay, I promise you.”
“I'm sure we'll find Sweetie Belle, she'll be fine! And when we find her, I'll throw a “Kidnapped and taken into the middle of the forest and saved by my sister and friends party!” Pinkie chimed with a smile and random confetti. The pink pony still had small grasp of appropriate timing, but Rarity knew what Pinkie was trying to do.
And while she appreciated her marefriend and being there for her, this didn't help Rarity feel better at all.
She wiped her tears and replied to Applejack “Thank you, darling, and thank you all, really. I never would have been able to have done this without all of you. You really are the best friends I could ask for.”
“No problem, Rarity,” Twilight replied.
“I'm glad to help in any way I can.” Fluttershy added. “I don't want to see Sweetie in any danger, and I certainly don't want you to be upset.”
“Dashie, Silver and I are totally happy to help, Rarity! We've got your back!” said Pinkie with an affirmative nod from Rainbow Dash and Silver Shade.
Other than that, the group didn't converse much more on the rest of the way.
Twilight took a deep breath as she and her friends arrived at the entrance. She turned around as she raised her voice. “Girls, Silver, this could be one of the most dangerous things we've ever done. Some of us may not be returning home, but we have to do this. Not only for Sweetie Belle, and ourselves, but for Ponyville. These monsters have taken many ponies we care about, and could put the safety of Equestria in jeopardy if we don't find a way to end this. Are you all ready?” The six other ponies nodded.
“Alright,” she stated “Let's do this.”
The seven ponies stepped into the forest with caution, trying not to draw attention to themselves. This wasn't too big of a problem, seeing that the only things they had come across were a few bugs here and there. The main path had reached a dead end, so the decided the only way to a new path was to go through the trees. Though this forest was a frequent location of Twilight and her friends, it didn't make the place seem more like a labyrinth. Finally, after about a half hour of walking through branches and leaves, they had found another path.
Just as they stepped onto the path, they heard a strange noise. It sounded similar to a shout or a shriek. Twilight held out a hoof for the others to stop walking as she looked around for the source of the sound. She heard it again, but now it sounded like it was coming closer, and fast.
“Twilight, look out!” Rainbow Dash screamed. Twilight attempted to defend herself against whatever was coming at her, but it was too late. A creature had already tackled her to the ground. Applejack and Dash rushed to her aid. Twilight remembered what this creature looked like. It was one of the monsters that chased her back to the library when she was talking to Silver Shade.
It was the Rake.
The Rake scratched the lavender mare several times before Applejack and Rainbow Dash were able to buck it off of her. AJ kicked it to the ground, making it scream and crawl away. She and Dash helped Twilight back up. Rainbow noticed her cuts.
“Oh my God, Twilight! Are you okay?” she asked frantically, while trying to put her foreleg around her marefriend without hurting her more. This failed as Twilight winced in pain.
“Yes, I'm fine, I've felt worse, but thank you though.” Rainbow, while still worried for Twilight, smiled for her. She felt like during the time that they had been together, she had influenced her to be braver and tougher. She felt proud.
This pride soon melted away as she remembered what had just happened. Dash gnashed her teeth “That son of a bitch! Where did he go? I'm gonna kill him!” Just as she was about to fly off, Twilight grabbed her with her magic and brought her back down.
“Rainbow, I appreciate that you care about me, but we need to stick together, at least until we find Sweetie Belle, or something that can lead us to her. I'm okay, don't worry.” She didn't believe Twilight, but decided to trust her anyway.
They continued to walk down the path, obviously proceeding with even more caution than before. This forest was filled to the brim with dangerous creatures, and now, it had even more. Twilight illuminated her horn with her magic, allowing them to see in the dark since the light of the moon was completely cut off by the monstrous amount of leaves.
“Um, Twilight?” Rainbow asked Twilight, giving her a small nudge.
“What is it, Rainbow?” She answered.
“I don't want to sound pessimistic, but, we've been searching for hours, and I'm starting to wonder; what if we don't find Sweetie Belle and this was just a sick game that those things are playing with us?” Rainbow leaned closer to Twilight, trying to whisper the last part of her question so Rarity wouldn't hear her.
“Dash, don't be ridiculous. We'll find her. I know we will. We just have to be calm, and keep a level head.”
“Are you sure that they're here?' Jeff asked.
“Yes, I saw them enter, be patient.” SlenderMane replied.
“You know, this is starting to piss me off. I'm done being patient. I've been waiting for far too long. I say we hunt them down, kill them all, and end this little game. I'm tired of this. You were the one who offered to take that one bitch's little sister! What made you think this was a good idea?”
“YOU WILL DO NO SUCH THING!!” the tall pony hissed.
“Oh, and you know what else? I'm sick of you thinking you're the leader here. I will not be your slave any longer.” Jeff drew his knife to emphasize his point. Smile Dog woke from his slumber when he thought his master was going through conflict. He stood and jumped to Jeff's side, snarling.
Eyeless Jack rushed in between the two of them to try to stop the fight that was about to take place.
“You will watch your tone if you do not wish for me to-” SlenderMane was interrupted by the screeching of his servant. The Rake ran to him, hissing and growling.
“What is it, now?” he asked. Rake explained, through several incoherent sounds, that it saw the seven ponies they were looking for nearby. A horrified shriek could be heard in the distance.
SlenderMane walked away from Jeff and smiled. “It's time.”
Twilight and her friends were tired and were losing hope. They had been searching for four hours, and they hadn't found anything that led to Sweetie's captors. They were going to give up and go back home until a certain scent filled the air. It smelt, metallic. This wasn't a normal thing somepony would smell in the woods.
The lavender unicorn gestured for the others to follow her, and they all obeyed. They walked in the direction that the smell was coming from. As they progressed closer and closer, the scent grew thicker, and thicker, and thicker until it was almost sickening. Twilight tried to illuminate her horn as bright as she could. She looked around for the source, and she noticed something had fallen on her head. She looked up to see what had fallen.
Once Twilight saw what it was, she froze instantly froze into a state of shock. The thing that had fallen on her was blood. Not only blood, but the blood of Rarities little sister, Sweetie Belle, who was impaled on one of the tree branches, her eyes still open from the trauma.
Rarity saw this, and screamed. She fell to the earth, crying hysterically. Applejack did her best to comfort Rarity, which she knew wouldn't work. Her heart was completely broken. This made Pinkie and Fluttershy cry as well. Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Silver Shade stared in disbelief. Who would do this? Who does this to a pony? Who would do this to an innocent foal who had so much potential. Sweetie Belle hadn't even gotten her cutie mark yet.
These thoughts were silenced, and Twilight was brought back to earth when she heard someone laughing. It was a sick, twisted, maniacal laugh.
“Surprise” was the only word the ponies had heard before Jeff, SlenderMane, the Rake, Eyeless Jack and Smile Dog all jumped out, surrounding them. The ponies had all screamed at the sight of them. Seeing these monsters was more terrifying than they had previously thought. The only pony who didn't show any form of fear was Pinkie Pie. Rainbow had also noticed that the tall pony she had encountered prior had grown its foreleg back.
“Did you seriously think you could save her?” Jeff asked with a laugh. “The truth is, we weren't even going to kill her. We were just going to kill all of you and keep her as our little pet, but then she tried to escape by climbing the trees, so we thought we'd teach her a lesson. And, I'd say, it was pretty memorable” he chuckled, regarding the body above.
“HOW COULD YOU DO SUCH A THING TO AN INNOCENT FILLY?!” Rarity shouted angrily.
“Like I said, I didn't want to kill her, killing kids is not something I enjoy.” Jeff admitted. “I only get rid of the snobby ones who won't listen to any-fucking-thing I say.”
“You're a monster.” Twilight simply stated.
“I beg to differ. I am a savior, I save people from a world that deceives you, cheats you, thinks that if you live in a different style, that you should be taken away. Can't you see the good in what we're doing? It's not like she would have really made that big of a difference in the world anyway.”
Now, Rainbow Dash took her turn to intervene as she stepped closer to him. “You're not a savior, you're a murderer, I don't care what they think of you where you come from, but if you think you're going to hurt me or any of my friends and get away with it, you're sorely mistaken. I'm not scared of you, and I don't care what you do to me, you're gonna die, motherfucker, for Sweetie Belle, and Lyra, and all the others you and your friends have killed.”
Jeff pulled out his knife. “DON'T THREATEN ME, YOU STUPID BITCH!” Dash gritted her teeth and headbutted him as hard as she could.
“Rainbow!” shouted Twilight. She rushed over to help her recover. Jeff was quick to regain his composure
“Alright, well if you want to play like that, then let's go.” He said with a laugh. The other entities started stepping even closer to the ponies, lowering their chance of escape.
“With pleasure.” Everyone, including Jeff paused, after hearing a voice coming from above.
“What?! Who said that?” he asked.
The only answer received was a mare who jumped down and softly landed in the grass. She had pale, gray skin, wore a slick, gray dress, had long black hair and two solid black orbs that replaced her eyes. Jeff knew this mare.
It was none other than Jane the Killer.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” he asked Jane.
“Why do you think I'm here, Jeffrey? I'm here to finally kill you and take revenge for what you did to my family. I've been following you ever since you arrived here, but I never knew the right time to strike, but now, now the timing is perfect.”
“Fine, why not join in on this little game, the more the merrier.” Jeff was now completely focused on Jane. If she wanted a fight, she was going to get one. He lunged at Jane with his knife and tried to stab her in the stomach. She dodged and kicked him back. After seeing this, Twilight blasted at him with her magic.
The Rake jumped at Applejack and tackled her to the dirt. She gave several strong punches to its face. Rarity was quick to knock it off of Applejack and grip it in her magic. The orange earth pony took one of the Rake's arms and broke it with her hind legs, causing it to scream. AJ took out her lasso and tied the Rake's limbs together to the point where it couldn't cut the rope with its claws.
Smile Dog growled at Fluttershy. When seeing this, she backed up and tried to hide behind Pinkie, who thought the dog looked rather silly. She started laughing, which caught the animal off guard. She then pulled out her party cannon and fired. The random explosion of noisemakers, balloons, and confetti stunned him. Pinkie then smirked and gave the creature a punch to the face, which knocked it out.
“That's for scaring my Fluttershy!!” she then looked back and smiled at the yellow Pegasus, who was blushing.
Silver Shade and Rainbow Dash were doing whatever they could to attack SlenderMane. Silver blasted at it with his magic, and Rainbow tried giving it several kicks and punches in multiple areas. These attacks had proven to be futile, as it would only teleport or back away.
Eyeless Jack was now dashing toward Applejack and Rarity. He scratched Rarity in the face and the chest. He tried to grab her neck and take a bite. Infuriated, Applejack shoved him, rotated and bucked him as hard as she could in the jaw. Both mares had heard several cracks, assuming that he had a broken jawbone. AJ grabbed the second lasso she had packed and tied Jack up as well, seeing he was knocked out from the kick.
Jeff was outnumbered two to one. While Jane and Twilight were not associated by any means, they worked together to attack Jeff and knock him down to the ground. Jane gave several punches and cuts with her hooves and her own knife. Jeff managed to grab one of her forelegs and break it. He then shoved her off of him and jumped at Twilight. She used her teleportation spell to dodge him. Jane got up and tried to knock Jeff down once more, but he moved away at the last second and allowed Jane to fall.
Once she was on the ground, he pulled out his knife once again. Jane struggled, kicked, and punched, but Jeff didn't flinch. He had been waiting for too long. He aimed the knife and lowered it quickly. Jane raised a hoof to stop him, but she was fighting a losing battle. Soon, he dug his blade into her heart and stabbed repeatedly. Twilight stared in shock. She couldn't believe that somepony could do this, and the way he did it with such enthusiasm scared her even more.
“Too long.” he said before rising once again.
“Now it's your turn, Twilight.” he said to her with a sinister chuckle. He slowly stepped toward her, knife ready. Twilight summoned her magic, ready to defend. Jeff lashed at her and she jumped back. She grabbed him in her magenta colored aura and threw him hard against a tree.
SlenderMane grabbed Silver Shade with a tentacle and threw him near Jeff. He saw this and quickly grabbed him. The killer held Silver by the neck and positioned his knife to his throat He struggled, trying to break free or his grasp.
“If you don't give yourself up to me now, I'll have no problem taking your friend along with you.”
"Twilight, don't do it. DON'T YOU DARE DO IT!!" her yelled, still struggling.
Twilight didn't want to give up, but she couldn't risk her friends life over her own. Her horn dimmed, showing that she didn't want to fight. Jeff laughed and slashed Shade's throat anyway.
“Go to sleep.” he whispered into his ear before letting go of him and letting him fall to the dirt, still choking on his own blood.
Jeff got distracted and watched him for a few more seconds, before looking back up and noticing Twilight was gone, until he felt somepony punch him hard in the neck. This was the last thing he saw before blacking out.
All of Twilight's remaining friends were now focused on SlenderMane. None of them could land an attack on him. She then joined in the conflict. There wasn't much she could do as he had improved his tactics. He knew when to attack and when to dodge at the right time, the other ponies were only to get mere scratches on him, but her friends were getting exhausted, and she knew how bad this was. The monster became more violent with his swings, and now, he was aiming to kill.
Applejack tried to buck SlenderMane in the legs, but he grabbed the orange mare in his tentacles and snapped her neck. Rarity blasted furiously at him, but he teleported to her and slashed her throat. Pinkie was doing whatever she could to protect Fluttershy. This was obviously futile as he grabbed the yellow Pegasus and ripped her in half. The tall pony knocked Pinkie and Twilight to the ground hard, blurring their vision. Once their vision had cleared, both mares saw a smile carve itself into his face as he grabbed Rainbow Dash in one tentacle, while the other sharpened. He then stabbed the cyan pony in the heart, staring Twilight down the entire time.
"You cannot save her." echoed in her head.
Tears flooded down Twilight's cheeks as her lover's corpse fell to the ground. Almost all of her friends were dead. It was just her and Pinkie Pie now, and she had no idea what to do.
"TWILIGHT!!" screamed Pinkie. Twilight looked at Pinkie, and suddenly came back to earth as she saw her friend being grabbed by the hoof and dragged away.
"TWILIGHT!! USE THE TIME TRAVEL SPELL!! THE ONE WE FOUND IN CANTERLOT!! QUICK!! USE IT, TWILIGHT!!!!"
Twilight stood up immediately, Pinkie was right! If she could somehow cast the spell, find the source of these monsters coming to Equestria, and destroy it, she could prevent this from happening! She could have all of her friends back! She had been practicing to go back in time for an even longer period, so she had thought that now was the perfect time to use it.
Twilight's horn sparked, then lit as if it were a fire.
SlenderMane was just about to kill Pinkie until he saw what the lavender unicorn was doing. He dropped her and rushed toward Twilight, but it was too late. Her eyes flashed a bright white, along with everything else around them.
Twilight had awoken in the Golden Oaks Library. The first thing she did was run into the kitchen. Spike was making Breakfast while Owlicious was pirched on one of the chairs, napping. She then picked up the radio and put her ear against it. She heard nothing, no static, no voice, nothing. She sighed in relief, there was still time.
"I'll be back later, Spike. There's something I have to take care of." the dragon looked at her, confused.
"What? But you just told me to make you breakfast."
"Don't worry, I'll be back in time, I promise."
Silver Shade was walking throught the grassy plains outside of Ponyville when he saw his friend, Twilight Sparkle, galloping toward him. She looked alarmed.
"Hey, Twilight, what's got you so worked up?" he asked her as she finally stopped.
Once she had regained her breath, she asked him "Have you seen anything odd happen recently? Any odd looking photos or ponies? Anything?"
Shade nodded. "I actually saw some strange dark area in the sky a little while back when I was walking, I just assumed they were storm clouds left behind by Cloudsdale." She gasped and grabbed him by the shoulders.
"Silver, I know this is gonna sound weird, but it is essential that you show me what you saw, quickly." he obliged and teleported them to where he was when he saw it.
He then pointed it out to the mare, who analyzed it. She had noticed that the center had appeared to be really hallow. Not only that, but the entire mass itself was rotating. She had remembered that Silver said he was walking through the plains when he came across the photo in her original time, and he said it was around this spot. Twilight figured it out; the spiraling mass was a portal. Her friend -in this time- stated that he hadn't found any photos or any odd-looking individuals, so this had to have been before the monsters had entered the portal.
Twilight knew exactly what to do. She lit her horn and concentrated. Once the spell was ready, she cast it toward the large portal. As she did, the mass reacted, attempting to engulf her magic. This made Twilight have to concentrate even harder. She cast the spell a second time. This time, Silver Shade joined in to help her. Now, the magic was too much for the darkness to handle. With a screech-like sound, it disappeared into the sky, leaving it completely blue.
"I'm glad I could help you Twilight, is there anything else I can hel-" he stopped mid-sentence as he realized she was gone.
*Present time*
Once again, Twilight woke up in the librarywith a start. It was now time to figure out whether what she did helped or not. She looked to her left, only to see her lover sleeping next to her, peacefully. She sighed in relief and layed back down. Twilight wrapped her hoof around Rainbow Dash and scooted closer to her.
"Goodnight, Rainbow Dash," she whispered.
"Have I got a story to tell you."

The First Encounter(Rainbow Dash vs. Slendermane)
Rainbow Dash flew through the air, clearing the sky, and allowing the sun to shine upon all the ponies of ponyville. As she bucked the last cloud, she pat herself on the back at her work. "Alright, looks like the sky is clear again, all thanks to Rainbow Da-
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
Dash was cut off by a loud, blood-curdling scream coming from the Everfree Forest. A shiver ran through her body as the scream replayed in her head. "I better go see who that was and see if they're okay." Dash said to herself as she flew over the forest. Flying for a bird's eye view wasn't successful. Rainbow groaned and flew back to the entrance of the woods. This place always freaked her out every time she had to enter it. It just made her feel downright uncomfortable. She gulped heavily, then entered the dark forest.
(here's some music to set the mood :) )

As Dash entered the darkness, she began to slowly walk past the black rows of trees the passed with every movement she made. Dash shivered when she heard a snake hiss as it slithered across the ground. "Why did the scream have to come from this place, it gives me the creeps." She looked at one of the trees and saw a peculiar sight. She saw what looked like a circle, with an X marked inside.
She cringed at it, then rolled her eyes. How could that harm me, it's just something carved into a tree. She thought to herself. Was she really about to let herself worry over some wood carving? She started to walk away from the tree. As Dash trotted, she saw something lying on the floor. She raised a brow and walked to it. As she got closer, her eyes widened and she gasped. It was a young foal, lying on the ground. It's lifeless eyes were still wide open with the look of trauma and total shock on it's face. It's stomach had been ripped open with it's intestines strung around many trees. She started to sob at the sight. Although she didn't even know the poor foal, and even though she wasn't the one responsible, she still felt terribly sorry for it's untimely, and horrible demise.
As she cried, a major wave of static burst through Rainbow Dash's ears. She held her ears in her hooves and she fell to the ground. The static was delivering Dash great pain. The static finally, after what seemed like an eternity, stopped and she finally felt at peace. Dash got up and looked around. And there, behind a tree, was a tall, thin, seemingly faceless pony in a suit. It rubbed it's hooves against the bark as if caressing the tree.
Her jaw dropped at the sight of this pony. She slowly started to walk away from the faceless terror in front of her, who was now stepping away from the tree and now walking toward Rainbow Dash. The pegasus attempted to fly but she was frozen in fear. Dash heard a quiet, chilling whisper echo through her head. "You will be missed." A shiver ran down the terrified pony's spine. She felt a black tentacle slide against her face. Thankfully, Dash was able to break from her frozen, fearful gaze and smacked the tentacle away. The appendage flinched as Dash slapped it.
This angered the pony in front of her. It started to walk quicker towards te cyan pegasus. When it stopped walking, it was looking down upon Dash. She managed to flutter her wings and hover up to it's head. She had a look of pure anger and determination on her face. After a few seconds, she raised a hoof, and punched her adversary straight in the nose. The faceless pony held it's head in it's hooves. After removing it's hooves, it grabbed Rainbow Dash in it's tentacles and threw her into a nearby tree. Dash fell to the ground, the impact of the tree made her slightly dizzy. After about a minute, she slowly regained her composure and rose to her feet.
Dash scowled and started to sprint toward her target. She swung her hooves at it's legs, making it fall to the ground. Dash was now standing above the creature. She started hammering down on it and punching repeatedly. The creature threw Dash off of it and slashed her in the stomach with one of it's tentacles. Dash began to bleed a little and she winced in pain. She got up again, but as soon as she rose. The creature grabbed Dash in it's tendrils again. It lifted her up. Rainbow Dash was now staring face to face with the terrifying creature. Out of nowhere, a thin line appeared over where the thing's muzzle should have been. The line curved itself into a sick and twisted grin. The smile widened upon the muzzle. Long, thin, sharp teeth appeared in the crevice of the grin. Rainbow realized herself being pulled closer to the hellish thing's teeth as it prepared take a bite out of her. She jerked her head down and bit one of the tentacles embracing her body. It flinched and dropped Dash to the ground.
She landed on her feet and looked back up. The faceless entity had grown taller. She grinned "Is that the best you've got? I've taken worse beatings from Discord himself than you!" Rainbow Dash had her task understood. One way or another, she was going to avenge the foal's death. She spun around, looking for something to damage her adversary with. She found a large stick and grabbed it with her hoof. She flew up to the creature and stabbed the stick HARD into it's shoulder. Dash reached for it's damaged limb. She gripped it and pulled as hard as she could, ripping the appendage straight off of it's shoulder. A dark, thick blood gushed from the wound. Rainbow grinned and stabbed the stick into the entities' neck. The thick blood started to pour from it's throat. Dash had enough sympathy to feel that the creature could die from it's current injuriess. She shoved the entity into the dirt. Blood still seeping from the fresh wounds. She flew as fast as she could away from the gruesome scene and tried to make her way out of the forest.
Five minutes later...
Dash flew to the head of the woods. As she flew, she crashed into a tree. She got up and there was a note nailed to it. She started to read the page.
"Enter area with caution, a tall stallion has been spotted in this forest. The creature is called 'Slendermane'. Enter this forest at your own risk for your very life may be at stake." Dash's eyes widened and she moved away from the tree. The pegasus turned around to see a tall, thin figure standing and staring at her in the distance. She then flapped her wings, ascended, and flew the rest of her way out of the forest.
