Author's Note

On the way to Olivine City, the trio of friends stop by a farm.

18. Trip to the Moo Moo Farm

Big Mac looks at the map of Johto. He places a small paper marked with a 4 on it at Ecruteak City. "There. Apple Bloom is halfway to the Johto League. Just four more badges to go."

Hearing her brother, Applejack got intrigued. "I guess Apple Bloom and company are doing better than I thought. No Anon-a-Miss shenanigans."

"Applejack!" Granny Smith called out. "You look a little rattled from all of your chores today. Why don't you relax for a while."

"Okay, Granny." Applejack replied.

After taking off her boots, the farm girl goes into the backyard, and lays down in a hammock. As she tried to relax, she thought about what she did. Then, a tear ran down her cheek. "I sure miss my little sister."

Meanwhile, in Johto. Scootaloo and Bellsprout faced a trainer who called out a Wooper. It shot a Water Gun, but not that effective.

"Let's wrap it up with Razor Leaf!" Scootaloo called out.

Bellsprout fired leaves at Wooper. A short red hair girl was surprised to see that. "That was quite a Bellsprout, Scootaloo. Thanks for the battle."

The girl shook hands with Scootaloo and left. Apple Bloom saw Bellsprout glow. "It looks like Bellsprout is evolving."

Bellsprout started to glow. When the glowing ended, Bellsprout was replaced by a large flower bud with a stem and leaves for arms.

"Cool!" Scootaloo cheered. "Bellsprout evolved into a Weepinbell!"

Apple Bloom used her Pokédex to study this Pokémon. Weepinbell, the Flycatcher Pokémon and the evolved form of Bellsprout. It uses it's stem to hang from a tree.

Just then, Sweetie Belle sees a bulldog type creature. "Point your Pokédex that way, Apple Bloom. It's a Snubbull."

Snubbull, the Fairy Pokémon. The Pokedex said. It may look scary. But, It's actually gentle.

Sweetie Belle got excited as she calls for her Pokémon. "Come on out, Sunkern!"

Sunkern comes out. The other girls look at this battle with confusion.

"I don't know how Sunkern can handle a Snubbull." Scootaloo wondered.

Snubbull charged in ready to use Bite. But, Sweetie Belle has a plan. "Sunkern, use Leech Seed."

Sunkern launched a seed at Snubbull. The seed sent vines to wrap this Pokémon and drain energy from it. Sweetie Belle see this opportunity to catch it. "Poké Ball, GO!"

The ball connected to Snubbull, and absorbed it. After a few shakes, the ball clicked.

"Congratulations, Sweetie Belle." Apple Bloom cheered. "You caught a Snubbull."

As the two friends hugged each other, Scootaloo saw something up ahead. "Hey, guys. Look at that!"

The other girls saw a barn with a large house next to it.

"Feels like home to me." Apple Bloom said. "Let's check it out."

As the girls look around, they noticed a lot of Miltanks roaming around. Sweetie Belle realized something. "I heard of this place. I think it's called the Moo Moo Farm."

"That's right." Apple Bloom added. "This is where most of that Moo Moo Milk comes from. I like to have a taste of that stuff."

As the girls look around, they saw a blond haired girl sitting on a stump with tears in her eyes.

"Something the matter?" Scootaloo asked.

"Hi." The girl replied. "One of my parents' best Miltanks is sick. We're not sure how to help it."

Apple Bloom feels bad for the girl. "As one farm girl to another, I feel your pain. Can we help?"

"I'm not sure how you can help. But, you might be helpful since your a farm girl too. Follow me."

The girls were lead into a barn where two people are looking a sick looking Miltank. One of the people, a curly haired woman, sees the group coming.

"Stacey, you're back." The woman said.

"Hi, mom." The girl, Stacy, replied. "I brought some girls here to help out, if possible."

The other person, a brown haired man with a beard. Looked at the girls with interest. "Well, what do you know. Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. I thought you three looked familiar."

Stacey looked at the girls, realizing who her fayer was talking about. "You, you girls are the Cutie Mark Crusaders! We learned of the good you've been doing this past year."

"I never knew our reputation is known in there parts. Apple Bloom said as she looks at the Miltamk. "So, what's wrong with this critter?"

"This Miltamk hasn't been feeling very well lately." The farmer said. "If only we had some berries. That could help Miltank here."

Scootaloo then had an idea. "We've been gathering berries throughout this journey. Maybe we can help."

"Good idea, miss Scootaloo." The farmer's wife replied. "Let's try it."

The girls have gathered plenty of berries since starting at New Bark Town. After feeding the Miltank seven of those berries, the Milk Cow Pokémon slowly recovered.

"Miltank is going to be okay." Stacey cheered. "Thank you, girls."

"We're just glad to help." Apple Bloom replied.

The CMCs were invited to spend the night at the guest house of the farm. Next morning, the girls were ready to return to their journey. Sweetie Belle looked at the container that has the egg she received from the Day Care center.

"What do you think will hatch from it?" Scootaloo asked.

"Good question." Sweetie Belle answered. "I hope it'll hatch soon."

"Hey, Cutie Mark Crusaders!" Called a female voice.

It turned out to be the farmer's wife, Elanor. And, she brings in the Miltank they helped recover with the berries.

"Howdy, ma'am." Apple Bloom greeted. "What can we do for you?"

"This Miltank is grateful for how you girls helped her," Elinor answered, "and wants to tag along. I think she wants to go with you, Apple Bloom."

Apple Bloom was surprised to hear that, and walked up to this creature. "Is that true, Miltank? You want to be with me?"

Miltank mooed happily. Smiling, Apple Bloom took out an empty Poké Ball. "Welcome to the family."

She tapped her Poké Ball and it absorbed Miltank. After a few shakes, the ball clicked. Them, disappeared.

"Wait until Professor Elm studies that Pokémon." Scootaloo said happily.

Soon, the three girls left the Moo moo Farm, and continued their travels.
