Author's Note

The former changeling queen learns that she was expected without her knowing about it.

Settling In

Chrysalis got very nervous hearing Principal Celestia mention her name. The former villain thought altering her name was a good idea. Apparently not.

"You-you know who I am?" Chrysalis asked nervously.

"I certainly do." Celestia answered. "During her visits from Equestria, Princess Twilight tells me and my sister about the many villains she and her friends battle. Including you."

Luna walks to her bookshelf, and pulls out a sketchbook. "The young lady even drew their likenesses here to show us what these evil creatures look like. Look for yourself."

Chrysalis flips the pages of this sketch book, and sees the drawings of Equestria's most wanted. Nightmare Moon, Discord, Sombra, Tirek, Cozy Glow, and others. She was shocked at the drawing of herself.

"That princess sure has good memories of all these characters." Chrysalis admitted. "At least she got my good side."

Celestia soon got out a book with a brown cover. Chrysalis was shocked to see this book has Twilight Sparkle's cutie mark on it.

"Thorough this journal," Celestia informed, "Princess Twilight informed us you're coming here. When I saw you, I figured this is your human form."

"So, what are you planning for me?" Chrysalis asked.

"There's a nice small house in this neighborhood that's refurnished. It's next door to us."

"We can help you settle in while you're redeeming yourself." Luna added.

Chrysalis was a little weary about her situation, and the proposition Celestia and Luna offered. After a minute or so, she made a decision. "Celestia and Luna, it's a deal!"

Soon, Celestia and Luna took her to the house next door. Chrysalis looked around and is fascinated. Her kitchen is basic with a fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and cabinets. The living room has a couch, loveseat, and an entertainment center. She then went upstairs and saw a bedroom, bathroom, and a large empty middle room.

"This middle room has many possibilities." Chrysalis said to herself.

Celestia soon approached the visitor. "What do you think of your new home."

"I think it's great." Chrysalis said. "But, it's going to take a lot of bits to maintain my living here. I'll need a job."

"Not to worry. We'll help you with any bills until September."

"Canterlot High School needs new teachers for the new school year." Luna informed. "Perhaps with any knowledge you have, you might fill those vacancies."

This got the former changeling queen interested. "I always wondered about working in a school. With my disguise magic, I poked around that School of Friendship Twilight established."

"We heard of that. If she can accomplish any goal, so can you."

Chrysalis feels a sense of pride within her soul. Who'd thought that someone will help her after all she did in her old home. For the next two weeks, Celestia and Luna helped Chrysalis settle into her new home in this neighborhood. Getting to know the citizens, exploring different buildings, and so on.

As Chrysalis stocked her refrigerator, freezer and cabinets with food the sisters provided, she is still amazed by the warm reception she got.

"This neighborhood is full of surprises." Chrysalis said to herself. "All of the people gave me a warm welcome. I can get used to this lifestyle."

Later that day, Chrysalis heated up a microwavable dinner, and sat down to enjoy her meal. She sat down quietly eating her food, and a glass of milk as well. She couldn't believe how good this food is. She then heard a knock on the door and went over to answer it. She was surprised to see a lavender skinned girl with dark blue hair with shades of pink and purple.

"Hi, Chrysalis." The girl greeted.

The humanized changeling soon recognized the girl. "Princess Twilight?"

"None other."

Twilight walks into the house, and is impressed with the accomodations. "So, how are you adjusting?"

"So far, so good." Chrysalis answered. "But, what are you doing here?"

"Since there are still ten days until school starts, I figured to give you a big test."

"What do you have in mind?"

"Starting tomorrow, I would like you to visit the homes of the human versions of my friends from Equestria. Also, spend time with my own human counterpart."

Chrysalis soon has a question. "Will this test include Sunset Shimmer? She's from Equestria too, I hear."

"Yes." Twilight answered. "She's part of this test too. I think it's great that two former brutes get together to talk of how friendship can heal any wound."

Twilight then gives Chrysalis a folder. "This has information about this world's Humane seven, as they're known as. Bye now."

Twilight leaves the house as Chrysalis takes the folder to a desk in her bedroom. She opens the folder and sees pictures of the seven girls Twilight talked about.

"Twilight's counterpart here is a scientific girl." Chrysalis said, looking at the information. "I need to visit her place and see what she's all about."

Later, Princess Twilight returned to Equestria to tell her friends about the progress of her idea.

"How's your plan coming along?" Rarity asked.

"So far, so good." Twilight answered. "Chrysalis is given a place to live, and I gave her some info on the Humane Seven."

"Humane Seven?" Pinkie Pie gasped.

"You know, Pinks." Rainbow Dash said. "Sunset Shimmer and our human counterparts."

"Oh yeah. I forgot."

"I'm just glad our own human friend, Megan, wasn't here when Chrysalis was sent though the mirror." Fluttershy said.

"I have to agree with you, Fluttershy." Twilight replied. "One look at Chrysalis and Megan would have nightmares."

Starlight looked outside a window of the castle, and wished for the best for the former changeling queen.

"I don't know how you'll do, Chrysalis." Starlight said to herself. "But, let's hope the human world is gentler to you than Equestria is."

Meanwhile, in the human version of Canterlot, Chrysalis slipped into a short sleeve nightgown and got ready to bed down for the night.

"Tomorrow, starts my mission to befriend the Humane Seven." Chrysalis said to herself. "I just hope they won't run away from me."

After climbing into her bed, Chrysalis turns off the light, and slowly falls asleep.
