Brave Heart is a young colt wondering the world all by himself until he meets a girl who gives him a place to stay. He deals with the bullies and soon becomes a local super hero.

On the dark night of April 23, 1897 a young filly was just about to be born. The full moon shone in through the window onto the mothers belly. She gave a couple pushes and the young unicorn was out of her belly. The parents took a couple of looks and discussed that they did not want the young filly. They didn't name her anything because they sent her off to the orphanage without another glance. They never thought that she had any good potential. They were expecting a boy earth pony and not a beautiful baby unicorn girl. The orphanage gladly took the young unicorn under their care. They named her Midnight Luna after her love for the night time.

One night Midnight was up wondering around her room when she stumbled upon a book labeled "Princess Luna". She skimmed through the pictures and had to learn more about this Princess Luna. She spent all of her hours reading the books on her shelf about Princess Luna. She even learned a couple of magic tricks to impress the other fillies. Midnight was never up during the day time so she never had the chance to show the little fillies the cool magic she has come to know. The orphanage set adoptions up for Midnight but she was never awake and would loose the chance to be adopted until one faithful night came.

Midnight was up running around her room, moving things around when she heard a singing coming from outside. She immediately ran to the window to check out the beautiful singing she was hearing. Who she found stunned her, she found Princess Luna singing outside. She put her hoof to the cold window as the moon light shined in, Luna saw her and opened the window. A magic bubble took over Midnight and then she was flying into the sky as Princess Luna's wings spread and they were flying into the night sky. Princess Luna made Midnight come closer to her, she held Midnight in her hoofs because she was still so small. Midnight looked up at the Princess and hugged her as Princess Luna continued to sing.

They landed somewhere far away. Luna sang a verse one last time that stuck out to Midnight "Come little children, I’ll take thee away, Into a land of enchantment, Come little children, The time’s come to play, Here in my garden of shadows" Luna explained after she was done singing that this was their new home, that everything is going to be okay. Princess Luna ushered all the little fillies to their new room but little Midnight did not have a new home she thought she was being left out again.

"Come little filly I have a special place for you to live." Princess Luna said in such a soft tone as she trotted of toward a huge building.

"Where are we going Princess?" Midnight asked as followed the Princess into the darkness.

"To your new home you silly filly. I have been watching you since your birth that night of the full moon. I planted the book in your room so you would learn about me. At the orphanage you proved yourself to me." Princess Luna said as she turned around to Midnight Luna in front of a huge castle.

"You know about me?" Midnight asked in disbelief.

"Yes you silly filly, follow me inside to your room." Princess Luna said as she turned around and walked inside. Midnight followed into a blue room and curled up on the bed. Luna tucked her into the bed. "Goodnight little Midnight." Luna said as the sun was peaking over the horizon. Midnight fell asleep without another question. Luna pressed her horn against the fillies back and wings curled under the blanket with her. "You deserve those wings, and I can tell you are a very special filly." Luna whispered and walked out room and slowly closed the door. She headed to her room and fell on the bed with a huge sigh. She tucked her wings underneath her and pulled the blanket up and let the sun filtered through the dark curtains.

Midnight woke up just as the sun was setting. She hopped out of bed and wings sprung from her back. She flapped them gently and got slightly scared. She squealed and her heard hooves coming to her door than a knock. A deep voice asked "Princess Midnight?" Midnight Luna was scared and hid behind her bed without a word the door flew open and a unicorn guard walked in. "Princess Midnight?" The guard said again. She peeked over her bed side and the guard walked over.

"I-I am not a Princess. Stop calling me one." Midnight stuttered than walked around her bed and stood firm.

"Of course you are." The guard touched her wings lightly, she feared it would hurt so she cringed, but it didn't hurt. "These wings were granted to you, because you represent what a Princess should. Luna gave you these wings because you represent everything a Princess should." The unicorn guard said with a more gentle ton this time. "Princess Luna requests you in the dinning hall for breakfast. Follow me." He said and trotted out of the room. Midnight followed without a thought and went to the dinning hall with this strange unicorn guard.

"Ah my faithful student, Midnight Luna. Welcome, sit and eat whatever you like." Princess Luna said and offered a hoof to sit. Midnight took her hoof and sat next to her. "How did you sleep last day?" She said and began to eat a carrot. She smiled as she watched Midnight mess with her new wings.

*Years late when Midnight is a teen*

"Mom, I'm leaving for the Sun Empire, see you tonight!" Midnight yelled over her shoulder as she trotted out of the castle and spread her wings and flew off. She flew through the sky just as her mother, Princess Luna, taught her. She flew past a bright ball in the sky, which she is told is the sun. She flies into the clouds like it's nothing. Soon she lands in the forest of the Sun Empire. She trots into town going to all the local stores asking for food for her poor family. she collects enough food for the empire. She walks to Sweet Apple acres and found a stallion carrying apples. "May I help you miss?" The stallion walked up and asked.

"I need a couple dozen apples to feed my poor family for awhile." She nudges toward her back with that holds the food. The stallion filled her bags full of apples. He looks at her cutie mark.

"Are you from the Lunar Empire?" He whispers. Midnight eyes widen in fear that her cover has been blown. She gulps in fear.

"Y-yeah." She mumbles softly. The stallion grabs her and they walk toward the woods not to far away. She is nervous that she might be killed, not knowing how the Solar Empire people act. She looks around for a way a way to escape, but finds no where to go. She could fly off but that would give away her cover of being a Princess.

"Be careful." He tells Midnight.

"I will." She says and hears a wosh over her head than she sees a Pegasus land in front her.

"I heard you talking about the Lunar Empire, I'm Rainbow Dash. I want to join the Shadowbolts." the Pegasus named Rainbow Dash said.

"You guys can't tell anyone about this, follow me and I will lead you there. Be quite until we reach the outer part of the Solar Empire." Midnight said.

"Okay" the Pegasus said.

Rainbow Dash flew over head, she checked around for danger which there was usually none. We all walked into the castle at the same time. The unicorn guard took the bags off Midnight and took them into the Dinning Hall.

"Mom, I'm home and I brought a guest." Midnight yelled as she nudged for her to follow her to the thrown room. Midnights brother, Luna's actual son, Sony, was sitting next to their mother Luna.

"Who have you brought from my sisters empire?" Mother Luna asked.

"This is Rainbow Dash, she wants to join the ShadowBolts. She doesn't want to be ruled under your sister, she would rather be ruled under your gentle hoof." Midnight said and than her mother nodded.

"Fair enough, show them to the extra rooms in the castle." Princess Luna said. Than Midnight went and showed the quest to their rooms, but she lingered in Rainbow Dash room.
