Chapters Rainbow Dash soared through the clouds. She loved the feeling of the wind in her face, her feathers rustling from the air passing through them. The sky was so peaceful. She almost felt like she could just stay up there forever. Being a pegasus was the only way for her to live. To not be able to fly would be her worst nightmare. Basking in the peacefulness of the day, she soon began to doze off. Until, of course, a pink squealing blur shot through the cloud. “Wheee! Oh, hi Rainbow Dash! Ooooh, a cloud! Its poofy! Be right back, Dashie!”
Rainbow Dash hovered in the air, too confused for words. Something landed on her nose. It was… confetti? That could only mean one thing… “Pinkie Pie!” Before she had even finished her thought, Pinkie flew through the air (not literally flying) and slammed into Rainbow Dash’s wing, knocking her off balance and sending a jolt of pain through her wing. Then, as Pinkie Pie began to fall, Rainbow fell with her. “Pinkie!” she screamed in terror. “I can’t fly! How are we going to stop?!”
“Oh, don’t worry!” said Pinkie Pie. “I’ve got it all taken care of! I’m glad you decided to come with me, Dash! I’ve been meaning to run into you! Well, not really run into you, but you know what I mean!”
“Pinkie!” yelled Rainbow Dash, now beginning to panic. “We are falling fast! We are going to go splat!” As she said this, she saw the party cannon and a large trampoline that Pinkie had on the ground, far below her. The panic rising in her subsided and she let her muscles relax. When she hit the stretchy black surface, she had expected to bounce. Instead, her body went straight through the trampoline and hit the ground hard.
She felt like she had broken every bone in her body. Her face contorted as the excruciating pain gripped her before she mercifully blacked out.
She woke up to the sound of beeping. Her eyes slowly opened, before shutting defensively against the bright light. She felt something in her throat, and realized that it was a plastic tube. She tried to talk, but her mouth was covered by pristine, white bandages. She made a feeble attempt to move and felt rather than saw that her body was in a complete cast.
“Don’t try to move, Dash! You kind of took a hard fall.” She heard Pinkie Pie’s voice somewhere to her left. She opened her eyes again to find that the light was not nearly as bright as she had first thought. She managed to turn her head to the side a bit, grimacing as the pain hit her. She was in a hospital room. Everything was white. White walls, white, beds, white tables, white curtains, and white sheets. The room had only two beds in it. In the bed next to her lay Pinkie Pie, who didn’t look as if there was anything wrong with her except a bandage around her head, a sure sign of a concussion.
“I’m so glad you’re finally awake, Dashie! It was getting boring in here with nopony to talk to!”
“Mmmffh! Mmf mhf hmffm mfmmmm!”
“Oh, hang on; let me take that bandage off for you!” Pinkie hopped out of her bed and slid the bandage off Rainbow Dash’s mouth, allowing her to talk. Rainbow gasped in a breath of the clean, sterile air.
“Pinkie?” she asked. “What happened?”
“Well, you broke my trampoline, which I should really be mad about, but I’m not because you broke my fall and stopped me from getting hurt as badly as… well, you. But then again, I am the one who knocked you out of the sky in the first place.” Suddenly, a worried look crossed her face. “Ohmygosh! You’re not mad at me, are you Dash? You are! I can tell! Pleeeaaase don’t be mad at me! I’m so so so so sorry for making you get hurt! Forgive me?”
Rainbow Dash looked at Pinkie’s huge eyes, and she knew that she couldn’t be mad at the pink mare. “Sure Pinkie.” she said “I’ll forgive you.”
“Whew!” Pinkie let out the breath she had been holding and visibly relaxed. “But it’s still my fault that you got hurt! To make it up to you, I'm going to take care of you until you get better!”
“Pinkie, that’s really not necessary…”
“Yes! It is! I’m going to make it all up to you, Dash! I promise! Until you are well enough to fly, I'm going to nurse you back to health!” A look of steely determination appeared on her face.
“Fiiine.” sighed Rainbow Dash. “As long as this isn’t like Applejack and Spike’s dragon code thing.”
“Don’t worry!” said Pinkie Pie. “I’m not going to be in your debt for the rest of my life!”
“Good. I can’t imagine having to deal with that.” Just then, the doctor walked in.
“Alright, Miss Dash. I'm glad you’re awake. This means we can finish up our tests. However, when we let you leave, I don’t want you living alone just yet. You broke so many bones, there isn’t much you can do by yourself at this point.” He looked over his glasses at Rainbow Dash. “Is there anypony you can stay with that will take care of you until you’re better?”
“I think I might know somepony who would be willing.” said Rainbow as she smiled to herself and glanced at Pinkie, who was bouncing around the room. "But should'nt I stay here for a while to heal before I leave?"
"No." replied the doctor. "We already have you in a cast. The pain you feel is just stiffness. There is really nothing more we can do for you until your bones heal. And as for you, Miss Pie," He turned towards Pinkie, trying to follow her with his eyes.
“Not Miss Pie.” interrupted Pinkie. “Just Pinkie!”
“Okay.” said the doctor, looking slightly confused. “Miss Pinkie then. I want you to-“
“Not Miss Pinkie either! Just Pinkie.”
“Okay!” replied the doctor, now becoming frustrated. “Pinkie, I want you to get back in your bed right now! You’ve had a concussion, and bouncing around like that isn’t helping you!” Pinkie stopped bouncing.
The doctor walked out as two nurses walked in. They wheeled Rainbow Dash to a dark room with a long white tube in the wall. They put her in the tube, which made an odd humming noise for a little while until the nurses came back and pulled her out. They took her temperature and blood pressure, then gently placed her in her wheelchair. She was then wheeled through the halls to her room, where the doctor was waiting.
“Miss Dash, your test results have come back normal. I'm happy to report that there is no permanent damage. As I said before, you just need to be taken care of until you get better. Miss Pie- I mean, Pinkie has agreed to do that.” Pinkie Pie grinned and winked at Rainbow Dash. The doctor continued. “This means that we can remove a few parts of your cast and then release you. However, I want to see you back here in one week."
The nurse grabbed Rainbow Dash’s wheelchair and pushed her from the room again. They then took a strange vibrating saw and cut off the cast around her head. By the time they had finished, she could still hear the buzzing in her ears and her entire face was tingling. She was pushed back to her room, where Pinkie Pie had just got the bandage removed from her head.
“Alllrighty! Are you ready to go, Dash?”
“Yep.” replied Rainbow. “Let’s go see where I’m going to be staying for the next few months!”
As Pinkie pushed her along the streets to the bakery, Rainbow Dash felt all the townsponies staring at her, it made her uncomfortable. “I would rather be stared at because I'm doing awesome tricks in the sky.” she thought. “Not because I'm in a wheelchair and a full body cast.”
She was relieved when they arrived at Sugarcube Corner. Pinkie rolled her inside and parked the wheelchair in the corner.
“I’ll be right back.” said Pinkie. “I just want to go make sure our room is ready.” She walked into the back of the shop. A few seconds later, she was back. “Allrighty!” she said cheerfully. ”We’re good to go. Come and see where you’re gonna be staying for the next few months! Oh wait, you can’t come by yourself.” She grabbed the wheelchair and pushed it into the back room. Rainbow Dash sighed. It was going to be a long few months.

This chapter sort of implies a romance between the two but is just ment to start off the story. In later chapters, I'm planning to add a little bit of clop material, but not much. This is mostly just going to be funny. Also, i have never seen a Pinkie/Dash fic before, so i just decided to write one. I'm honestly not sure how this is going to turn out. So be warned! ;D
“Okay, Dashie! Welcome to your new room!” Pinkie skipped along as she pushed Rainbow Dash’s wheelchair to one of the back rooms of Sugarcube Corner. The first thing Rainbow Dash noticed was the bright pink paint that had been used on the room. Then, she slowly saw some other things, like the blast marks in the ceiling, the confetti ground into the wall, and the layer of crystalized sugar covering everything. This room was obviously a victim of some of Pinkie Pie’s most extreme parties, among other things.
“Pinkie?” she asked tentatively. “What exactly happened in this room?”
“Well,” answered the pink party pony, “A lot of things, but the most memorable one is that this is the room where I developed my patented party cannon! The first few models tended not to work well, they just exploded. You might have gathered that by the char on the ceiling. Oh, and I made my first exploding cake in here! That’s why there’s sugar everywhere!”
Rainbow Dash was beginning to regret agreeing to stay here. “It would have been much safer in the hospital.” she thought. “Wait! What am I thinking? I’m Rainbow Dash! I’ve never cared about safe! This accident is already changing me!”
“Okay, Dash!” Pinkie Pie’s voice interrupted Rainbow’s thoughts. “What do you want to do first? Oh, wait… there’s not much you can do…” She plopped down onto the floor. “This isn’t going to be nearly as fun as I thought.”
“Pinkie, I'm really tired. These painkillers are seriously taking it out of me.” Rainbow Dash let out a massive yawn. “I think I’m just gonna take a nap for now. Maybe we can do something when I wake up, though.”
“Okay then.” said Pinkie. “I’ll just go make some cupcakes for when you wake up.” With that, she walked out of the room to her kitchen. Rainbow Dash’s eyes drooped lower and lower, until finally she fell into the fathomless depths of sleep. The dreams came, and they weren’t pretty.
Rainbow dreamed of falling. Falling through endless darkness. She saw faces floating around her. Pinkie Pie, the doctor that treated her, a pair of nurses, and a singing cupcake. She wasn’t really sure where that one came from.
“Raaaiiinboooowwwww! Raiiiinnbooooowwwww Daaassshhhhh! Wake up! C’mon, Dashie!”
Rainbow Dash opened her eyes to see Pinkie Pie’s face just millimeters away from her own. She jerked back in surprise, almost tipping over her wheelchair in the process.
“Are you okay, Rainbow Dash?” Pinkie Pie looked very concerned. “You were tossing and turning and saying something about cupcakes. Do you want to eat the cupcakes I baked for you?”
“Ummm, I guess.” Anything to take her mind off that dream she just woke up from. “Bring on the cakes of cups!”
“Okie dokie lokie!” said Pinkie cheerfully. She brought out a small tray with four cupcakes on it. She pulled off one for herself and one for Rainbow Dash. After taking a large bit out of her own, Pinkie reached over and gave the other treat to Rainbow.
“Oh wait, you can’t hold it cuz your arms are still in casts. I guess I’ll have to feed it to you.” She held the cupcake close to Rainbow’s mouth. Rainbow Dash chomped down and took a massive bite.
“Wow, this great!” she said, finishing it off. “Give me another on-“ Suddenly her eyes widened. “EEYYAAHHHH!!! WATER! GET ME WATER!”
“Okay!” Pinkie ran into the kitchen. A few seconds later, she walked calmly back out and handed Dash a glass of ice cold, clear water. “Sorry about that.” she said apologetically. “I just got so bored while you were napping, so I decided to sprinkle a bit of Dragonbreath pepper on one of the cupcakes.” Rainbow Dash glared at Pinkie for a second, and then smiled slyly.
“You know, Pinkie, that just reminded me of a great secret I know.” She knew Pinkie Pie would never be able to resist a secret. “Ooooooohh! Tell me!” A look of excitement crossed Pinkie’s face.
“Okay, lean down here so I can whisper it. Closer… closer…” When Pinkie’s face was right next to hers, Rainbow spit a full mouthful of water directly into Pinkie’s face. Pinkie looked shocked, and then grinned sheepishly.
“I guess I deserved that.” she said. “Let’s call it a truce for now. When you get out of your wheelchair, we’ll finish this!”
“Agreed.”
“Good. I'm glad we’ve got that sorted. Now, what do you want to do?”
Rainbow Dash thought for a minute. “Hmmm. I guess I’d like to read the newest Daring Do story. But I can’t, because I won’t be able to hold it…”
“That’s okay!” said Pinkie. “I can just read it out loud to you!” She plopped down on Rainbow Dash’s lap. “Is this it?” There was a stack of books beside Rainbow’s wheelchair. On top of it was a thick volume of Daring Do. “Okay.” said Pinkie. “Daring Do and the Storm of Demons. Ooooooh, sounds exciting!”
She began to read the story, but Rainbow Dash barely heard it. Pinkie’s weight on top of her lap was too distracting. It seemed like her legs where tingling and the feeling was spreading to a warm spot in her chest. “What the hay? Am I getting sick? Or maybe Pinkie is damaging my legs.” As she continued to think about it, her eyes drooped lower and lower. Suddenly, her head hit the metal post of the wheelchair and she jerked up in pain. Pinkie stopped reading. “Are you okay, Dash?”
“Um, Ye- yeah. I’m good. Sorry.”
“That’s okay. If you’re tired, I understand.” She looked out of the window. The shadows were growing longer and it was already becoming hard to see. “It’s getting time for bed anyways. I think we should both turn in for the night.”
“Okay.” agreed Rainbow Dash, still slightly confused about the odd feeling in her chest. “Can you lift me onto the bed by yourself? I’m pretty heavy.”
“Don’t worry.” said Pinkie. “I’m strong enough!” With that, she lifted Rainbow Dash straight out of the wheelchair and dropped her onto the bed.
“Wow, Pinkie! How in all of Equestria did you get to be that strong!?”
“I lift bags of flour and sugar through here all day every day. I’ve put on a little of muscle.” She flexed her front leg, showing a pretty impressive bicep. Rainbow Dash found herself staring and quickly turned her head. ”Why am I suddenly feeling so weird about Pinkie?”
“That’s pretty cool, Pinkie.” She inhaled sharply as her mouth stretched wide in a massive yawn. “Wow, I’m really tired. I’m going to go to sleep now. G’night!”
“Gooooodnight, Dashie!” Pinkie Pie jumped into the bed beside Rainbow’s and snuggled into the sheets. Rainbow Dash sighed quietly. She would ponder her emotions more in morning. For now, she was going to sleep. Hopefully she wouldn’t have any more nightmares about falling again. Slowly, she slipped into a deep sleep, and there was silence.

By the way, I do take suggestions. If you want a particular pony or something in the story, tell me, and I will try to add them.
The dreams came again, and they were the same. Falling, tumbling through the dark. All night, until she woke up, gasping and in a pool of sweat. Every night for a week this happened. Rainbow Dash’s strange feelings didn’t stop, just got stronger. They only came when she was around Pinkie Pie, though. Rainbow was starting to wonder if the two might be connected.
The next week was fairly uneventful. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash read together, went for “walks” in the park, and played with Gummy. Finally, it was time for Rainbow’s doctor appointment. While they were on the way there, Pinkie would not stop chattering.
“I’m so excited, Dashie! Maybe they’ll say you’re all better and take all the casts off! No wait, that would mean you wouldn’t be staying with me anymore. Maybe they’ll just take some of the casts off.” Rainbow Dash sighed. This was getting annoying. She was relieved when they finally got to the hospital.
Pinkie Pie pushed Rainbow into the waiting room and walked over to the front desk. “Hi! I’m here with Rainbow Dash for her appointment. The doctor said to come today.”
The pony working at the desk looked up and smiled. “You can go right on back. The doctor is waiting for you.”
“Thank you!” Pinkie grabbed Rainbow and pushed her into a pristine, white room. Every tool, sheet, and curtain was perfectly placed and organized. The doctor stood in the corner, waiting for.
“Hello, Miss Dash. You’re looking much better. I’m going to start the X-rays right away so we can get some of those casts off as soon as possible. The bones in your arms were just bruised, so they should be good to go. Hopefully your ribs will be healing nicely, too.” He grabbed the wheelchair from Pinkie Pie. “If you can just wait here, Pinkie, we will be right back.”
He pushed Rainbow Dash to an X-ray room and positioned the camera in front of her ribs. He took a few pictures, then repositioned it over each arm and took more pictures. As he walked away, a nurse retrieved Rainbow and returned her to Pinkie Pie.
“How did it go?” asked the pink mare.
“I don’t know yet, we have to wait until that doctor gets back with the pictures.” No sooner had the words left her mouth than the doctor came back.
“I have great news!” he said. “Miss Dash, your arms are completely healed, and your ribs are good enough to take the casts off!” With that, he pulled out the weird buzzing saw and began to cut open the casts on Rainbow Dash’s arms and legs. He made short work of them, and the white fiberglass bindings were removed in a few minutes.
Rainbow Dash stared in dismay at her pale, pasty arms and chest. “Is this normal?”
“Yes.” answered the doctor. “But don’t worry. They’ll look better in the morning. I’ve made another appointment for you in a month. Your legs should be healed by then.” He walked out to the waiting room and called the next patient. Pinkie grabbed the wheelchair and pushed Rainbow Dash out to the waiting room and through the hospital doors.
“This is great!” Pinkie seemed to be more excited than Rainbow was. “Now you can feed yourself and read by yourself!”
“Pinkie-“
“And we can play games and make cupcakes together!”
“Pinkie!”
“What?”
“You don’t have to push me. I can wheel myself now that my arms are free.”
“Oh yeah! Cool!” Pinkie let go of the wheelchair and let Rainbow Dash push herself. “And nooow…” Pinkie grinned mischievously. “I’m gonna find some way to get you back for spitting water in my face!”
Rainbow Dash smiled. If Pinkie tried anything on her, she had a few tricks up her own sleeve. They arrived at Sugarcube Corner, and Pinkie held the door for Rainbow as she wheeled in. “So what should we do first, Pinkie?”
“Make cupcakes!” Pinkie walked into the kitchen followed by Rainbow Dash. Rainbow stopped in the middle of the doorway in shock. There were chunks of cake batter hanging from the ceiling, piles of frosting on the counters, sprinkles all over the floor, and cooking utensils everywhere. Her struggled to comprehend what she was seeing. Pinkie normally kept her kitchen spotless.
“Pinkie! Why the hay is this place so… messy!?”
“Weeelll… I’ve been spending so much time taking care of you that I haven’t really had time to clean up. I wanted to make you completely comfortable, so I got kind of sidetracked from cleaning.”
Pinkie gave Rainbow Dash a very un-Pinkie-like smile. Rainbow started. Was Pinkie… flirting with her?! She shook her head. No way. It was probably just a figment of her imagination. Then she noticed the warm feeling rising in her chest again, like she had just drunk a hot glass of apple cider.
“There’s that feeling again! It’s like I’m… happy, in a really weird kind of way. Do I want Pinkie to flirt with me? Why would I want that?”
Pinkie had sacrificed her own time just to make Rainbow Dash feel at home. Somehow, that made Rainbow feel really happy that Pinkie cared that much. “Whoa! What the buck, brain? Stop it!”
“Hello? Earth to Rainbow Dash! Come in Rainbow Dash!”
Rainbow Dash shook her head, as if trying to get the thoughts out. “Sorry, Pinkie! What do you need?” She wheeled over to where Pinkie was standing on a stepladder in the middle of the room. She looked up and noticed that the pink pony was holding a glass of water against the ceiling.
“Oh good, you’re here! Grab the broom and aim the handle up here!” Rainbow Dash looked around the room until she saw said broom leaning against the wall in the corner. After picking it up, she wheeled back over to Pinkie and did as she had been told. Pinkie positioned the broom handle against the bottom of the glass. “Okay, now put some pressure on it and hold it there.” Pinkie said as she climbed down the ladder. She folded up the ladder and walked out of the room.
“Wait! Pinkie! What do I do now?! Come back!” Rainbow began to feel worried. Then Pinkie Pie appeared in the doorway.
“Now” she said. “you figure out how to get out of this. Or you get wet. Your choice. Think of it as revenge for spitting water in my face.” She smiled perkily and bounced out of the room. Rainbow Dash was pissed. Not at Pinkie Pie, because she had known that this was coming. No, Rainbow was pissed off at herself for letting herself be drawn into this trick so easily.
Pinkie sat patiently outside the kitchen with her ear to the wall and listened intently to Rainbow Dash trying to get out of her hazardous predicament.
“Hmmm. Maybe if I- nooo, that wouldn’t work. Oh, I know. I’ll just sort of- move over- and shift this- YAAAHHHHH!”
Moments later, there was a splash and the sound off glass breaking. Then, a very wet Rainbow Dash wheeled herself out of the kitchen. “You’re picking that up, Pinkie.”
While Pinkie was in the kitchen, Rainbow had an idea. She quickly searched through the room until she found a piece of rope. Using the lasso skills that Applejack had taught her a while back, she made the correct knot and threw the loop at the ceiling fan. It took her a couple of tries, but she got the lasso tightened around the fan blade just as Pinkie walked back into the room and somehow didn’t notice to rope dangling down from the ceiling.
Rainbow Dash rolled over to Pinkie and over her pink tail, effectively tangling it up in the front wheel of the wheelchair. Pinkie Pie let out a squeal of pain. “Ohmygosh, Pinkie! I’m so sorry! Here, let me help you with that!”
She bent down, blocking Pinkie’s view. A few seconds later, she came back up. “Okay, you’re good now.” She rolled towards the doorway, leaving a slightly confused Pinkie Pie standing in the center of the room. When Rainbow reached the door, she turned around and flicked on the ceiling fan. “Ha! Here’s my revenge, Pinkie!”
Pinkie was becoming even more confused. Then she felt a tug on her tail. She looked down. There, she saw a rope tied in a knot around her tail. Following it up to the ceiling, she braced herself as she realized just what was about to happen.
The ceiling fan didn’t spin quite as fast as Rainbow Dash would have liked, but that was because Pinkie was hanging from it.
The pink mare hung upside down by her tail. Her arms were folded, and her face had an un-amused expression on it. She spun in slow circles around the room, causing Rainbow no small amount of glee. “Ha! I told you I’d get you back!” She smirked. “Try getting out of that one, Pinkie.”
Pinkie’s eyes grew wide as she realized that Rainbow Dash had no intentions of releasing her anytime soon. “Wait! Dashie! You wouldn’t just leave me here, would you?” She made her best and biggest puppy eyes at Rainbow.
Rainbow Dash quickly turned her head away, but it was too late. She had made eye contact with Pinkie. She felt a twinge, and, almost against her will, she turned off the fan and released Pinkie Pie. Pinkie growled playfully.
“That was pretty clever, Dashie. But that just means my retaliation is going to be even better.” She grinned wickedly. Rainbow Dash smiled. She barely wanted to admit this to herself, but playing around like that with Pinkie Pie had brought those odd feelings back into her chest. She was starting to actually welcome them and enjoy them. Maybe staying with Pinkie Pie wouldn’t be so bad after all…
