The Rumble in ponyville!

Rumble woke up in the morning after the crazy welcoming party Pinkie Pie had for him and his brother, Thunderlane. Rumble then  went to the bathroom and took a quick shower before going downstairs to get some breakfast. He wasn't very hungry so he ate a couple of hay fries then packed his saddlebag with school supplies as he waited for his brother to fly to school with him so Thunderlane could sign all of the papers to allow Rumble to go to school. After about 30 minutes his brother came downstairs.

"Ready to go, Rumble?" Thunderlane stretched his wings.

"Yeah," Rumble nodded "Let's go!"

"K" Thunderlane said as he walked out the door with Rumble right behind him as they started to fly towards the school. Once they got near the school and landed in front of the door Rumble could hear ponies talking about him

"Who's the new kid?"

"That kid is Rumble I think, But who is that Pegasus beside him?"

"Duh! That must be his guardian."

Rumble couldn't hear anything else because everyone was outside but he and Thunderlane were now the only ones inside the building except for the only teacher in the school, Cheerilee.

"Hello there. What can i do for you?" Cheerilee asked.

"I'm here to register my brother, Rumble, in this school. Also, he is shy around other ponies so can you try and keep him in a 1 pony group at most often?" Thunderlane asked her.

"Ok, I'll try to Mr.... what's you name?" Cheerilee asked

"Thunderlane."

"Ok, I'll try to Mr. Thunderlane. Just sign these papers confirming that you are Rumble's guardian and he can be in this school, ok?" Cheerilee explained

"K" Thunderlane said as he grabbed a pencil sticking out of Rumble's saddlebag and began signing in the forms. "There!" Thunderlane put the pencil back in Rumble's saddlebag and handed Cheerilee the forms.

"Ok, have a nice day Mr. Thunderlane!" she said as he flew away "Ok, Rumble, i'm gonna put down some rules and what you need to do each day." Cheerilee then gave him the school manners lecture. Right when she finished the bell rung and everypony went to their seats and began to chat to ponies beside them, except for Rumble.

"Ok everypony, settle down, we have an important announcement today! we have a new student! Rumble, come up here and tell us about yourself. anything you want to tell us about you, like what you like or something like that." Cheerilee announced happily.

Rumble gulped and trotted to the front of the room. He took a deep breath and began with the usual beginning. "um... Hi, my name is Rumble, and um... I like the c-color g-gold... h-hay fries and c-chocolate. I look up t-to the w-w-wonderbolts and my brother and... and a-all great f-flyers... and my d-dream is to be a f-f-famous flyer like the w-w-wonderbolts." Rumble mumbled then ended his speech slowly and trotted back to his seat.

While he was sitting down he could hear a filly from behind him and turned around to see 2 snotty rich kids talking about him.

"Great," the filly with a tiara said. "Silver Spoon, look! Another blankflank!"

"Like, why won't they just, like, get a cutiemark already and stop being, like, so not special Diamond Tiara?" The other one, who I assume was Silver Spoon said in her snotty voice.

"Ya, I mean, like, they are so uselesssss." The one with the Tiara said, who i also assumed was Diamond Tiara.

"And w-what is the p-p-problem with blank f-flanks?" Rumble asked.

Both of them looked at him as if he was an alien, then Silver Spoon spoke up. "Blankflanks are just, like, not special!" She said in a louder tone in witch made the whole class look at her, including the teacher.

"Young lady!" Cheerilee said in a stern tone. "You don't say 'blankflank' in school! And you don't call someone not special! I'll see you after the last bell, Silver Spoon also, come in at recess." Cheerilee commanded as Silver Spoon sunk in her seat blushing.

"Yes, Cheerilee..." Silver Spoon sighed, then Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon both gave him glares that said you are dead.

"Now that that's over, let's continue on..." Cheerilee said then trailed onto asking some social studies questions. When she finished the bell rung for recess and every pony ran outside. Rumble was one of the last ones out so their wasn't anything outside to play with so he just wandered around.

Then he heard someone call his name. "Rumble!" He then turned around to see Scootaloo coming towards him.

"Oh, hi there. what d-do you want?" Rumble asked.

"I wanted to ask you if you want to play catch with us. Do you?" Scootaloo questioned

"Oh... um, ok." Rumble answered as he followed Scootaloo to the other crusaders

When they saw him Applebloom talked first while holding a ball. "Howdy, Rumble! What brings ya' 'round here?" She said in her cowgirl accent

"um... Scootaloo asked me t-to play c-catch." Rumble said shyly.

"Wow! Your as shy as this one Pegasus named Fluttershy!" Sweetiebell noted. "Anyway, let's play!"

"Ok!" Applebloom yelled as she threw it to Sweetiebell, who threw it to Scootaloo, who threw it to Rumble, who threw it to Applebloom, then the cycle repeated. Right when Scootaloo threw it to Rumble it went about 30 feet in the air and 15 feet away after about 3 seconds, and Rumble was afraid it would hit someone so he flew up and got the ball in half a second and stayed in the air for a moment, then flew back down to be greeted with almost the whole class staring in awe at how fast he just flew until Scootaloo broke the silence.

"That... was... AWESOME! Rainbow Dash would even be proud!" She yelled. right after that everypony started crowding around Rumble asking him questions.

"How can you fly that fast?"

"You gotta teach me how you did that so fast!"

"He was so awesome!" He heard Scootaloo yell that one.

After everypony crowded him he started to sink in his place. Scootaloo noticed and tried to break up the crowd. "Everypony! Everypony! Rumble needs his space! He can just fly fast, it isn't like he is a wonderbolt or anything!" She continued trying to break up the crowd but they wouldn't go away, so Rumble flew up about 5 feet from the ground and landed away from the crowd, and they were confused on where he went until one of his classmates spotted him behind them all.

"Guys! There he is!" The pony said as Rumble's pupils turned so small you couldn't see them. After everypony heard that they ran to Rumble as he ran around the playground, then he started flying around it. Then he stopped in the air catching his breath, but he made a huge mistake. He wasn't the ONLY pegasus who could fly. Right before he realized that a tan skinny colt flew into him knocking him down into the crowd of ponies. When he fell down he felt some ponies catch him and after about 10 minutes of questions being asked the crowd finally disbanded leaving Rumble breathing heavily on the ground from all of those ponies asking him questions. While he was on the ground 3 fillies came up to him and he stood up, his pupils slowly coming back to the regular size.

"Rumble, that was crazy! I'm surprised your still in one piece!" Sweetiebell exclaimed.

All Rumble could do was nod and try to get his voice back but all that came out was some unheard mumbling.

"Anyway, Thanks for savin' ma ball, Rumble. Let's continue playin' catch!" Applebloom suggested.

After a few moments Rumble got his voice back "Ok..."

After a few minutes of playing catch, a pink hoof slaps the ball and it hits Rumble. "Hey!" He yelled, then he sees Diamond Tiara with a smug grin as she walks up to him and shoves him 10 feet and he hits a tree. "ow..." Rumble moans.

"That was because you made Silver Spoon stay in for recess," she said and she was about to buck him with strong earth pony strength "And this is for getting her detention!" Right when she was about to buck him with her hind legs, a huge hoof came up from behind Diamond Tiara and pulled her away, and she gasped at who just pulled her away. "WHO ARE YOU!?" The filly exclaimed as Rumble grinned as he saw who grabbed her.

"I'm Rumble's brother." Thunderlane answered. "I heard him yell and then I saw you attacking him. I bet your teacher won't be happy about this." He said in a stern voice as a crowd appeared again 'wow,' Rumble thought as he grinned. 'These ponies do love crowds alot'

Just then Cheerilee came outside to see the crowd and saw Thunderlane in the crowd. "What is going on here?" She asked the black coated pegasus.

"Cheerilee, I was just in the sky when I heard Rumble yell, and when I came to source of the noise I saw this little filly shove him into that tree, and she was about to buck him with her hind legs, so I grabbed her and then it has played into right now." Thunderlane explained.

Cheerilee gritted her teeth. "Is this true Diamond Tiara?" Cheerilee asked through her teeth as Diamond Tiara's face started to blush from the embarrassment she was now in.

"...Yes... it is true..." Diamond Tiara sighed.

"Young lady, you just earned yourself a 1 month detention!" Cheerilee said. "The next time you do something like this i'm telling your parents!" Diamond Tiara gasped at this and shook her head.

"Ok, I think this has been enough for one recess." At that same moment the bell rung to announce that recess was over. "Everypony, back into the classroom! Except you Rumble. I need to speak to you for a moment." Rumble just sat at the tree and nodded as everyone else went inside.

After everyone was inside it just left Rumble, Cheerilee, and Thunderlane. "Rumble, i'm going to ask you a few questions. First, do you know why Diamond Tiara attacked you?" Cheerilee asked.

"I-it was b-because she s-said I g-got Silver S-spoon in t-trouble." Rumble answered in his shy voice.

Thunderlane looked confused but kept quiet. "Ok. Second, do you feel anything broken?"

Rumble thought for a few moments "...n-no. I d-don't."

"Ok, that is good. Now this is my third and final question. Did you attack her after she attacked you?"

"N-n-no, I w-was in t-to much pain to r-re-retaliate." Rumble answered.

"Ok. That is enough. Time for class now. Come on." Cheerilee finished.

"O-ok. Bye T-Thunderlane!" Rumble said before he and Cheerilee walked into the school and he took his seat.

"Ok now that that's over, let's move onto math..." Cheerilee said as she started teaching everyone about multiplying and dividing numbers.

When Cheerilee finished the last bell rung and everypony ran outside, except for Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, who had detention. As Rumble ran outside he searched the crowd for Thunderlane, and found the pegasus waiting behind all of the parents and guardians. "Hey Thunderlane!"

After hearing his name he saw Rumble. "Hey there kid! When we get home you gotta tell me all that happened today." Thunderlane said to Rumble.

"Ok!" Rumble agreed.

After a few minutes of flying they got to their new house and Thunderlane slumped onto the couch as Rumble sat next to him, telling him detail by detail on what happened that day at school. "Blankflank?" Thunderlane asked. "I haven't heard that word since I was your age!"

"Yeah," Rumble said. "They can be pretty mean sometimes." Then Rumble remembered something. "Thunderlane! I just remembered i have to be somewhere right now!"

"Ok kid. Just don't be long." Thunderlane said as Rumble ran out the door.

It was around 4:00 and the crusaders planned to be at the Ponyville lake by 4:05, so Rumble flew as fast as he could to the lake, landing in front of the lake, Waiting for the other crusaders to arrive. After a few minutes he saw them coming and they saw him.

"Hi Rumble!" Scootaloo said.

"Hi." Rumble gulped, getting less shy around the 3 fillies. "I have a confession to ma-"

He was then interrupted by a pink pony with a tiara on and a gray pony with glasses, still giving Rumble glares of death. "Well if it isn't the cutie mark crusaders. Oh! And who is with them?" Diamond Tiara said in her snotty voice. "Is it that new pegasus in class who embarrassed me and SS? I think we should teach him a lesson!" Diamond Tiara got a evil grin as she and Silver Spoon trotted towards Rumble, but before they got near him Scootaloo, Sweetiebell, and Applebloom got between them.

"Hey!" Scootaloo said. "Their will be no fighting! You both know Rumble is better then you both!"

Diamond Tiara got a smug look. "Then, like, what is he better at then us?" She asked Scootaloo.

"Like, um..." She thought for a little bit then came up with an idea. "Swimming!" After hearing this Rumble's pupils shrunk.

"Swimming?" Diamond Tiara snickered. "It happens to be that I'm one of the top, like, 50 swimmers of equastria! But, if you guys are soooo confident, why don't we have a swimming race?"

"Fine! I guess we will have you versus Rumble!" Scootaloo said.

"Fine!" Diamond Tiara agreed. "Tomorrow at this time, this place! Loser has to say their darkest secret!" She ended then trotted away with a snickering Silver Spoon beside her.

After they left Rumble started breathing heavily confusing the 3 fillies. "Rumble, what's wrong?" Scootaloo asked.

Rumble almost passed out. "I'm gonna lose this race..." He put his hoofs to his temples.

"No you won't! Your gonna kick her flank!" Sweetiebell tried to help him.

"Yea! Your gonna send 'em into the next zap apple season!" Applebloom also tried to help.

"No..." Rumble started to blush at what he was about to say. "T-the reason I-I'll l-lose is because..." He sighed. "I can't swim..." He then looked down at the ground as the 3 fillies jaws dropped, but Scootaloo looked terrified.

"You. Can't. WHAT!?" Scootaloo yelled. "I WAS MAKING A BET WITH DIAMOND TIARA, AND THEN YOU TELL ME YOU CAN'T SWIM!? THIS CAN NOT HAPPEN!" Scootaloo then started to calm down and she sighed. "Rumble... I'm sorry for yelling it's just that... if you lose this race it will embarrass us all because it would give them another reason on why blankflanks are useless." Scootaloo said, then grinned. "Rumble! I just had an idea! We can teach you to swim!"

Rumble thought about it, then he grinned and gave his answer. "Ok."

Scootaloo grinned then they all shoved him into the lake "First lesson. learn how to Donkey-paddle." Scootaloo said.

Rumble tried flailing his arms to keep above water, but he sunk and couldn't swim up. Scootaloo then dived in and brought him up, then he started coughing out water. "...This might take awhile." scootaloo said.
