Chapters Rumble and his/her mistake.
"Rumble! School is starting. You don't want to be late!" Thunderlane yelled from downstairs to Rumble as he slowly came downstairs. "Flitter bought you new school supplies," Thunderlane told Rumble as he was walking down the stairs.
"Alright, alright i'm up! Now what's for breakfast?" Rumble asked.
"Hay fries and a daisy sandwich." Thunderlane answered. "Flitter came over while you were sleeping and bought you breakfast also."
"Why don't you buy anything?" Rumble asked as he grinned. "Sounds like your lazy!"
"Because I have to pay the bills for the house, water, and taxes for the town." Thunderlane answered. "And I don't sleep in 5 minutes before work, like you do with school!" Thunderlane grinned. "Now chow down your food quick if you want to make it to school on time."
After about 2 minutes Rumble ate the hay fries and the sandwich. "Bye Thunderlane." Rumble said as he flew out the door.
"Bye!" Thunderlane said as Rumble flew away.
After about a minute or so, Rumble got to the school yard. Then he didn't see where he was walking and he tripped and fell on a colt with a gold mane and a silver coat he never saw before. "Hey! Watch it!" The pegasus yelled as Rumble got off of him. "I'm gonna teach you some manners!" Then the colt saw Rumble's wings. "Wait a sec... I just got a better idea!" The colt grinned an evil smile. "Let's have a race, with a little bet! If I win, I get to put one curse on you. If you win, I won't pummel your face into the ground."
"Um... ah..." Rumble then saw a crowd appearing as he considered his options. 'If I back down, everypony will think i'm a chicken. But if I accept and lose, he will put a curse on me! ' After he considered those options he made his choice. "Fine..." Rumble sighed as the ponies in the crowd put together a makeshift track. After they made them the other pegasus started to stretch his wings and trotted to the starting line, followed by Rumble.
"ON YOUR MARKS!" The other colt yelled.
"G-GET SET!" Rumble stuttered.
"GO!" All the ponies there yelled as the other colt flew two times faster then Rumble, but he slowly caught up as they both went around the track once. The silver pegasus glared at Rumble as he started flying faster then Rumble as he past the track the second time, followed by a surprised Rumble as he strained to keep up with his opponent, but it was to no use as the other pegasus pasted the track for the third time and landed, waiting for Rumble as he flew to his spot shortly after. As the crowd started cheering for the other colt, a gold light ring appeared around Rumble after the other colt chanted a few words, blinding every pony's eyes. After a few seconds the light died down, revealing that nothing happened to Rumble, but the other colt grinned evilly as he teleported away.
"What just happened...?" Rumble wondered out loud as the crowd looked in awe at where the other colt just was. After a few seconds of looking the school bell rang and all the ponies went into the classroom, still shocked at what just happened.
When school ended, he searched for Thunderlane. After a few moments of searching he found Thunderlane in the back of the crowd of parents and guardians. "Ready to go kid?" Thunderlane asked as Rumble responded by nodding his head. "K. Let's go!" Thunderlane said as he started to fly home with Rumble. "Rumble, I have to do some extra work tonight so Flitter and Cloudchaser are gonna babysit you. I'll probably be back tomorrow before you go to school." Thunderlane finished as he flew away. "Bye!" He yelled.
"Bye!" Rumble said as he knocked on the door to the house to be greeted with a light grayish opal pegasus at the door with a bow in her hair.
"Hey, Rumble. How did school go?" she said as she let him in.
"It was weird at the beginning, but other then that is was good," Rumble answered.
"Really?" Flitter asked as she sat down on the couch followed by Rumble. "Tell me about it!"
"Ok." Rumble said as a cerulean pegasus walked into the room also.
"Hey, Rumble. How was you day at school?" Cloudchaser asked.
"I was just about to explain it to Flitter," Rumble replied. "Ok, Thunderlane flew with me to school, and as he left I accidentally tripped and fell on this one gold and silver colt I never saw before. He noticed my wings then made a bet with me on a race. He said if he won, he would put one curse on me, but if I won, he wouldn't pummel me into the ground. After the race he won and chanted a few words that I couldn't hear, and then I was surrounded with a light gold ring which blinded every pony's eyes. But when the light died down nothing happened to me and then the other colt teleported away somehow then day was normal after that." Rumble ended with both Cloudchaser and Flitter looking shocked at what they just heard, but it didn't last long.
"That is... odd..." Cloudchaser broke the silence. Flitter then spoke up, agreeing with her sister.
"That is the oddest thing I have ever heard," Flitter said as she tried to change the subject. "Anyway, what do you want for dinner?" She asked.
It took Rumble a moment to think. "A daisy sandwich. It's my favorite." Rumble answered.
"Ok." Flitter said as she went into the kitchen, leaving Rumble and Cloudchaser alone in the living room.
"So... did you happen to catch his name?" Cloudchaser wondered.
"No, he never told me." Rumble replied as Flitter came in with a daisy sandwich.
"Here Rumble." Flitter said as she gave him the sandwich. "A daisy sandwich."
Rumble eyed the sandwich and he grinned. "Thanks Flitter!" He said as he took a bite of the sandwich. When he was finished he played some games with Flitter and Cloudchaser, then he eyed the clock and noticed it was around 9:30 P.M. "Aw! It's bedtime," Rumble exclaimed as Flitter and Cloudchaser looked at the clock also.
"It is." Cloudchaser said. "Goodnight Rumble! Yell if you need anything" She said as Rumble walked up the stairs to his room and crawled into bed, still thinking of why that colt had that evil smile after he won the bet. After thinking about it for a while he assumed it was nothing. Then at midnight the same light gold ring appeared around Rumble, but she, didn't notice.
Rumble and his/her mistake.
Rumble got up in the morning and yawned. He then got up and went to the mirror and combed his long mane to get it to how it us- wait, long mane? He then looked into the mirror again and saw he snout rounded, his mane longer, and he eyelashes longer. "AHHH!" He yelled in a squeaky filly voice.
"Rumble? What's wrong?" He could hear Flitter and Cloudchaser come up the steps and look into his room. They spotted him as he turned to face them and their jaws dropped. After a few moments they thought it was just makeup and Rumble was playing a joke and started laughing, but then they saw him starting to sob, and they realized it wasn't a joke and stopped laughing, getting even more confused.
"H-how did t-this h-h-happen?" Rumble sobbed into his now long mane as Flitter and Cloudchaser went over and comforted the filly/colt.
"I... I don't know Rumble." Flitter shrugged. "Maybe we can get some pony to help you?" She suggested.
"W-who could we c-call? O-only a p-p-princess c-can use g-g-gender sw-sw-swapping s-spells," Rumble said as Cloudchaser tried to comfort him.
"Rumble, If only princess's can use gender swapping spells then how could that one colt turn you into this?" Cloudchaser said she saw that Rumble started to cry even harder. "Rumble, now what?"
Rumble still sobbed as he said only one word. "S-school!"
Flitter and Cloudchaser thought for a moment, but couldn't come up with something. "Rumble, This is a one time thing but only for the predicament you are in, but... I guess you can stay home today." Cloudchaser said but it didn't help Rumble at all. "Rumble don't cry. We can call Twilight to come over and help. She is a princess now, Remember?" Cloudchaser reminded him.
" T-thanks guys," He said as he hugged them, still sobbing. After a couple of minutes Cloudchaser broke from the hug and went to go to the library to go get Twilight. Flitter still comforted Rumble as they waited for Cloudchaser to come back. She then broke the hug and talked to Rumble for a little bit.
"Rumble... don't be so sad. Twilight will fix this!" She then spoke to herself. "I hope..."
"But... But w-what if she c-can't help?" Rumble questioned, still sobbing.
"... I don't know..." She sighed as Rumble Stopped sobbing after a couple of minutes and Cloudchaser came into the room with a lavender alicorn.
"So this is the filly-" Cloudchaser lightly kicked Twilight "Ahem, So this is the colt who you were talking about?" Cloudchaser nodded. "I have never seen this happen to anypony before. I didn't even know this was scientifically possible!" Twilight exclaimed. "Do you know what caused this?" She asked Rumble as he sniffed and nodded.
"T-this one c-colt cursed m-me." He managed to say which caught Twilight's attention.
"Cursed you? I don't know alot about curses, but I know some pony who knows alot about!" She clapped her hoofs together and grinned, but Rumble didn't "Follow me. You two also." She pointed to the two mares as she began to trot out the door, but Rumble stayed inside. "What are you waiting for?" Twilight wondered.
"W-what if s-s-some pony s-sees m-m-me?" Rumble stuttered as Twilight charged up her horn. 'W-what are y-you do-doing?" Rumble asked as Twilight's horn glowed more.
"Teleporting us there" Twilight said as she shot herself, Rumble, and the twins as they teleported into the middle of the everfree forest with a hut. "Here it is!" Twilight said as she knocked on the door to the hut.
Rumble and his/her mistake.
The cure... but not right now.
The door opened and the 4 ponies were greeted by a zebra with gold rings in her ear, on her neck and on her legs. Her turquoise eyes seemed to stare into Rumble's soul. "Do my eyes play tricks on me? Twilight, and who must these be?" The zebra asked.
"Zecora, this is Rumble, Flitter, and Cloudchaser. Rumble claims he has been cursed and is now a filly. Can you help him? " Twilight asked Zecora.
"Well, it must be. But you will have to wait, and see. For a curse, a cure is needed. For a cure, time needs to be succeeded." The zebra rhymed as she examined him.
"W-what does t-that mean?" Rumble asked as he sniffed from his earlier sobbing.
"It means that it will take her some time to craft up a cure from what she has." Twilight explained as Zecora went inside and searched through her stuff.
"She is correct, for what I do. I may be able to conjure up a brew. If I can find this one rare flower, I can make a brew in less then an hour. It is gold with many blue dots, It also grows in many kinds of knots." Zecora said as she found the flower she was looking for. "This is it, this flower is good. Come back later, if you could." She waved as they walked away from the hut and they teleported back to Rumble's house. Just then the doorbell rang as Rumble ran and hid in his room. Flitter opened the door to see a black coated pegasus at the door.
"Hello, Thunderlane. Rumble is upstairs, and he has a problem right now." Flitter said as Thunderlane nodded his thanks and went upstairs into his brother's room.
"Rumble? Where are you?" He asked then he saw Rumble's back. "There you are! Flitter said you had a prob-" His jaw dropped as Rumble turned around to face Thunderlane and he saw Rumble's face "Y-you're a filly?!" Thunderlane exclaimed.
"T-thank you c-captain o-obvious!" Rumble sniffed again as Thunderlane realized Rumble was crying recently and he tried to comfort Rumble.
"How did this happen?" Thunderlane asked, already knowing he was in for a long story.
After about 10 minutes Rumble ended his story, leaving Thunderlane confused, but before he could do anything Cloudchaser came in. "Rumble. Zecora called and said that she crafted a cure." Cloudchaser said as she left the room with Rumble following close behind. When he got downstairs Twilight teleported them back to the hut and she knocked on the door again.
"Hello Zecora. You called and said that you made a cure for Rumble's curse. May we have it?" Twilight asked the zebra.
"Yes, I crafted the perfect cure, for the the way I made it, it is surely pure." The zebra said as she handed Rumble the flask. "Drink up now, for it may be to late. Your cure may be at stake! If You don't drink it now, You will always be how you look now." She rhymed as he drank the cure quickly.
"Huh. I don't feel any diff-" He was interrupted as a gold and blue explosion of light formed around him. After a few seconds the smoke cleared and they saw Rumble was back to normal. "Yes! I'm back!" He exclaimed as he felt his mane becoming shorter, he snout changing from round to square, and his eyelashes disappearing. "Thank you Zecora!" He said as he ran away back to his house in joy. He went to bed even though it wasn't night yet. He was so excited that he was back to normal he didn't hear Zecora's warning, but he didn't care as he went to bed.

Rumble woke up in the morning and rubbed his violet eyes. He went downstairs and got ready for school. And yes, Thunderlane did write a slip for Rumble so no one would think he skipped school on purpose. Once he finished his breakfast he packed his saddlebag and left for school. Once he got there he went into the classroom and gave Cheerilee the slip. "You had a problem?" She asked as she read the note. "Would you mind telling me?"
"It's... kinda personal..." Rumble replied as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Oh, I understand completely." Cheerilee replied with a grin as Rumble went to his seat and the bell rung as everypony took their seats, chatting among themselves. "Settle down, Settle down. Today we will be learning how to..." She started talking about science and gravity and other things Rumble didn't hear as he tuned out. After what seemed like minutes the bell rung signalling that it was time for recess and all the foals ran outside. As Rumble was running outside he heard someone call his name and he turned to see a orange coated filly with a magenta mane. 'Why does she want me ?' He wondered.
"Yes?" Rumble asked shyly.
"Why weren't you here yesterday?" Scootaloo asked as Rumble gave the same answer he gave to Cheerilee.
"It's personal." Rumble said a little to loudly which caused some ponies to gather around to see what was happening.
"Come on. You can tell me!" Scootaloo said as almost the whole class gathered around.
"... I... I already t-told you. I-it's p-p-personal." Rumble said as he started to sink.
"Tell me!" She pressed. "Tell me tell me tel-" She was interrupted by a gold and blue explosion around Rumble which sent smoke flying around him again. When the smoke cleared he saw the whole crowd staring at him, all looking confused and shocked. He then looked down at himself as he saw that he was once again... a filly.
"No..." He mumbled as he started to blush in embarrassment as everypony started laughing. After he started to blush he cried and flew home, passing a surprised Thunderlane in the hallway as he flew into his room and locked the door and sobbed.
