The Midnight Star

Chapter 3

"I'm sorry but I have to go now, I'll send you a letter when I get unpacked. I love you " fighting back the tears welling up in my eyes as I slowly climbed onto the train, Vengeful Dagger just sat on the pavement tears slowly making their way down her face.

"I love you too!" she exclaimed as she tackled me to the floor in a tight embrace

"please...I have to go" I managed to choke out

"I'm sorry" she rose to her hooves, helping me up in the process, "just promise to write....please"

"I promise, I have to go now or Heroic will get mad" I said slowly making my way back on the train and to my seat. The trains final whistle blew and we started moving. I'll miss you.

The train ride was long but not long enough for the night to take it's reign, Celestia's sun was low in the sky. Looking out of the window I saw how beautiful the evening sky truly was, I was normally inside the house reading at this point of the day. the train pulled into the station, as I slowly wandered over to the door I caught sight of a pink earth pony, with a curly pink mane bouncing her way past the train and into town.

"brother, wake up we're here" I whispered nudging him slightly all I got in reply was a moan, rolling my eyes I said a bit louder "brother, get up we are here"

"huh...what?" he replied finally coming round "are we there? already?" he said blinking rapidly and slowly rising to his hooves.

"come on,NOW" I said with a stern voice, resulting in my brother moving quickly to get our stuff and heading out of the train.

Well, my new life begins here.

Walking through the streets I suddenly remembered that this is where the elements of harmony live, not looking where I was walking I knocked into a lavender unicorn.

"oh my gosh, I'm so sorry miss I wasn't looking where I was walking"

"don't worry about it, I'm Twilight Sparkle, I live in the towns library" she said smiling.

"wait... you're THE Twilight Sparkle as in the element of magic?!?" I said showing excitement in my voice. First day here and I already meet the element of magic, this has to be a dream.

"yep that's me, are you new in town?" she said still smiling

"yes miss Twilight, me and my brother just moved in to the small house next door to sugar cube corner, I'm Midnight Star" I said holding out a hoof to shake.

"well it's nice to meet you Midnight Star, I gotta run bye" she shook my hoof and left.

I continued walking around town trying to familiarize myself with the rest of the town, I noticed that sugarcube seems to be the place where everypony hangs out. I walked over towards the window to take a quick look inside and the first thing I noticed sent a shiver down my spine. Three young fillies getting picked on, by a pale magenta colored filly with a slightly curly mane that is a light shade of violet with white streaks.

"stupid blankflanks you're not even worth the air I breath, never mind a donation for your summer harvest day parade float!" she spat at them, annoyance showing in her voice.

The light orange pegasus buffed her chest out, stepped forward and argued back "we weren't asking you we don't want your dirty money, anyway you probably stole it from the kids at school!" spreading her small wings out "you're just a bitch Diamond Tiara!"

A yellow earth pony appeared from behind her "come on leave it scoots"

"no I won't leave it bloom, its time we should teach her that she isn't all high and mighty like she thinks she is! I WILL NOT let her control us any more"

"if I were you I would take your disgrace of a friend's advice blankflank" Diamond Tiara butted in.

"you treat us like shit it's about time you get what you deserve" she shouted at her defending her friend.

A small white unicorn appeared behind the yellow earth pony she had a mane with two different shades of lilac "yeah...Why do you target us only? we've never done anything to offend you!" she shouted with a quiet voice but it showed some sort of authority and truth.

"Why don't you shut your noice maker before I shut it for you!" The pale magenta colored filly shouted annoyance showing in her voice. "you are a disgrace to this world you should just kill yourself"

If you looked at me now I was sure you would be able to see steam coming from my ears.I should go in and help. I walked in and shouted "HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO HER LIKE THAT!" she looked at me with wide surprised eyes, along with the trio of blankflanks. I slowly made my way closer, each hoof step I made she made 2 towards me, I saw hatred in her eyes.Looks like I've already made an enemy

"and who might you be? A new blankflank for the group? Eh?" making her final move closer.

I saw a light orange blur run past her face and land right next to me, at my aid in a battle that I could easily win, but it never hurts to have back-up, "you think you two are so tough eh?" I ducked under a hoof swinging towards my head just in time and fast enough to deal a fatal blow to under her muzzle, the sound teeth clashing together satisfying enough to know that one blow was the winning one.

"YOU BASTARD! I'll get you for that" she spat in reply, blood splattering on the floor as she spoke. swinging another blow, yellow pair of hooves clashing into her side. "AHH!!" she screeched collapsing to the floor.

"It's time you finally got what you deserve Tiara" turning to me "thank ya' stranger, lets get outta here before she gets back up"

We shot right out of the cafe and straight down an alley way, it had a foul smell of rotting food and rat urine, but it was safer than staying in that cafe waiting for our next beating.

"thank ya' stranger, ya' really helped back there it's about time she got what she deserved" the yellow earth pony said " 'am Applebloom, an' this is Scootaloo an' Sweetie Belle"

"hey I'm Midnight Star it's nice to meet you Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, I'm new in town" I explained with a shy smile I held out a hoof to shake.

"hey Midnight" a squeaky voice said exitedly, she took my hoof. "hey you don't have your cutie mark either"

I felt my eyes grow larger "errm...yeah" I shied back.

"why don't ya' join the Cutie Mark Crusaders, we're it's founding members"

"technically we're it's only members, but we're always recruiting" Scootaloo explained.
