Interval 04- Blackout

Michael’s cell phone rings. It’s the alarm clock. He wakes up and pushes a button on his phone. Then he looks on the battery power. Still 100%. Michael is surprised. Maybe the teleportation increased the power of the battery. He stretches himself and steps out from his bed. Then he wears on his combat suit, takes his pistol and his auto-shotgun and walks out from his chamber. His duty as a Elite Royal Guard/Royal Task Force member starts early in the morning, at 6 o’clock. He walks through a corridor.

To his surprise, Princess Luna walks through the corridor up to him and says “Good morning, Michael. You’re up so early?”

“Yes, but I would ask you the same...” says Michael. Princess Luna chuckles and says “Well, I’m the Princess of the night and I’m responsible for watching over the sleeping ponies. Literally, I’m the guard of the night. And I’m heading now to my chamber, to sleep over the day.”

Michael says “So that means, you rushes through the dreams of your subjects? And take care of the safety in the night?”

“Yes!”

“You’re stealing my job!” says Michael dramatically and points a finger at her. They both are laughing.

“Do you want to lead me to my chamber?” asks Luna.

“Yes.”

They are walking side-by-side to her chamber. One of Luna’s female night guards, Midnight Blossom, stands next to the door, bows to Princess Luna and salutes to Michael. Princess Luna says to Midnight “Good, job, Midnight Blossom. Take free for the rest of the day!”

“Thanks you very much, your highness!” says Midnight Blossom and bows again to Luna, “I wish you a very...”

She never manages to finish her sentence. A black humanoid invisible thing falls from the ceiling on the back of Midnight Blossom.

 With one hand, it grabs the mane of Midnight Blossom, with the other hand it cuts through the throat of the night guard with one fast move of his arm. Detached on the arm is a razor-sharp long knife. The head of Midnight Blossom is instantly cutted off from her body. Just in this moment, the invisible thing becomes visible.

A Replica Assassin.

 Blood splashes in the face of Luna. The Replica Assassin holds the head in his left hand, before it jumps at the wall, then jumps from the wall over Michael and Princess Luna and runs away from them. Michael spins around and shoots a load of shrapnels at the Assassin’s back.

*BOSH!*

But it doesn’t damage the assassin much. It stumbles a little but it keeps running and disappears around a corner. “Shit, we can’t let that thing running around...” says Michael, but then he realizes that Luna doesn’t response. He turns back to her...

She still stands on the place, her pupils shrinks to the size of pinheads. She stares at the headless night guard body, which lies on the ground. Michael knows what comes and he covers his ears...

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!”

Luna screams in shock. She doesn’t use her Royal Canterlot Voice, however but her scream is loud as the RCV. Then she jumps at Michael and wrapping her hooves around him. Her whole body is shivering. Michael realizes what she is doing, so she pulls her away from him and says “Not right now! The assassin could be everywhere and...” He is interrupted by Princess Celestia, who heard the scream in her chamber and she teleported herself to them.

“What is going on?!” She gasps at the sight of the headless cadaver of Midnight Blossom, blood still spurting out from it’s open throat...

“That was a Replica Assassin. I’m glad that Luna wasn’t his target...” mutters Michael. They are stepping into the room of Princess Luna. Suddenly, they all can hear a approaching flapping sound. Michael recognizes instantly what the source of the sound could be. The princesses are galloping up to Luna’s balcony and looking out. They are confronted by the sight of a black thing, which approaches the castle from the south.

A Armacham Helicopter.

But the princesses never saw one before.

“Michael! What’s this?” says Princess Celestia worried.

“That’s... a Helicopter! Shit! Princesses, the Replica Soldiers will attack the castle!” exclaims Michael. He activates his comlink and establishes connection to Point Man “Come in! We have a little problem here!”

Point Man says “Yes, I know. A Helicopter! With sixteen Replica’s inside!”

“Fuck!” yells Michael and starts to run to Point Man’s direction. After a while, he can hear three bursts of Point Man’s AR through the corridors of the castle. “What happened?” asks Michael.

“That bitch of a Assassin tried to kill me... but I was faster,” says Point Man through his comlink.

Suddenly, Michael can hear some windows bursting. He finds cover behind a corner and perks his head around the corner. Four Replica’s are lowering himselves down with ropes.

“What are they doing?”

Michael turns around his head fast and looks in the shocked faces of Princess Luna and Princess Celestia. They followed him. “What the fuck are you doing here? Hide somewhere!” whispers Michael. Princess Celestia opens her mouth to say something, but she is interrupted by a voice...

“Squad, check that out!” commands one of the Replicas.

Michael takes out a grenade, pulls the pin out and throws it to the group of Replica’s. As they are spotting the grenade, one of them shouts “Grenade! Take cover!”, all Replicas are jumping away from the grenade and lying on the ground, protecting their heads with their hands...

*BASH!*

“It comes from there!” exclaims a Replica. Michael leans outfrom his corner and shoots three loads of his shotgun. He hits a Replica, who shouts “I’m hit! I’m hit!”.

“Suppressive fire!”

Michael jumps back to his cover, before a bullet flies past his head. He hears the sonic boom it caused. Then a orchestra of thunderclaps occurs. The Replicas are shooting at Michael’s cover, but to no avail. The princesses are screaming in shock. Michael turns to them “Stop screaming and listen to me! Tia, bring me my AR! And Luna, you teleport yourself to your room and stay there!”

Luna says “But... I...”

“Stay! There! If you want, you can have my pistol to protect yourself. But stay in your room, dammit!”

He says it in a commanding tone, like the princesses would say it. Celestia takes a deep breath, closes her eyes and starts to concentrate...

*PING!*

She disappears in a white flash. Michael unholsters his pistol, takes out some spare ammo and gives the objects to Luna. She takes them with her telekinetic and examines them. But before Michael can say something, she disappears in a blue flash.

*PING!*

“Oh great, and I didn’t told her how to use a pistol...” mutters Michael.

*PING!*

Princess Celestia appears in a white flash, holding Michael’s AR in her telekinetic grip. He takes and says “Thank you... now hide yourself somewhere! What are you waiting for? Leave!”

Princess Celestia says “Okay, but please be careful... I don’t want to lose you... again.”

*PING!*

Michael activates his comlink and says "I need backup! I will finish the squad off, but there are maybe more!" Point Man says "Roger that. Over and out!" Then Michael turns around and jumps from his cover...

Slow-mo On

"Fuck!" yells one of the Replicas. Michael aims at him and shoots a burst from his AR into the the head of the Replica. He screams in pain and falls to the ground. Then Michael literally pumped 10 bullets into the next Replica. He moves to the next Replica and roundhousekicked him. He kills the last one by switching his weapon to his autoshottie and shoots three shrapnel loads...

*SPLAT!*

The upper body of the Replica is ripped apart. The organs are smashed by the shrapnels, the pieces are sticking on the wall. The head falls to the ground and rolls to the feets of Michael.

Slow-mo Off

Michael looks at the mess. Then he takes the weapons which are lying on the ground. At least he gets some spare ammo for his AR and a Combat Shotgun.

Suddenly, Point Man shouts through his comlink "Fuck, there's a heavy! I repeat, a Heavy is inside the castle! With some sort of a new Penetrator, which fires hot flechettes!"

“Where are you?”

“In the corridor which leads to Princess Celestia's door. I think the Heavy tries to get in there! Aaah shit! *AR Burst*” comes from his comlink. Michael starts to run to Point Man’s direction. He runs around the corner, to spot the Heavy. Point Man is behind a table, several red glowing flechettes are piercing through the desk. Michael pulls the pin from a shock grenade and throws the grenade at the Heavy...

*BASH!* *FIZZLE!*

The Heavy falls on his knees, shivering over it’s whole body. Point Man and Michael are opening their fire. They are literally pumping magazines of bullets in it, because after a while, they have to reload. Suddenly, the Heavy, falls to the ground, unmoving. Dead.

Michael sighs in relief, walks over to Celestia’s door and knocks at it “Tia? Are you in...”

*PING!*

“... there... *vomit*” Michael holds himself with his hands on his knees and vomits on the ground

Celestia teleported him into her room, but she instantly regrets it as she sees that Michael can’t handle with teleportation “Oh, sorry Michael! I didn’t want to do that!”

Michael stands straight and shoots a annoyed glare at Celestia. She rushes to him, trying to hug him as an act for excusing. But Michael dodges her ‘attack’ and says “No need for excusing, just never do that again!”

“Okay”

Again, the sound of the Armacham Helicoptes lures them to look out from a window. The Helipter hovers above the part of the castle, where the throne hall is. Eight Replica Soldiers are lowering themselves down with ropes and smashing the big windows. Then they are jumping through the open windows and disappearing in the hall...

“That’s wonderful!” exclaims Michael and runs to the door, which is locked. Michael doesn’t have the time to ask Celestia to open the door, so he just shoots the lock with his combat shotgun...

*BOSH!* *SHZIK!*

“Sorry Tia! Take it from my wage!” exclaims Michael, opens the door and moves to Point Man, “Let’s go to the throne hall, there are more of them!” They both are running down the hallway, to the doors of the throne room. Princess Celestia follows them.

As they are in front of the door, they are stopping, to listen through the doors to the Replicas which a re inside the hall.

No sounds...

“What’s going on?” asks Michael and moves his hands to the handle of the door... Point Man takes some steps back and slightly bumps at Celestia. He has a very bad feeling.

Michael opens the door and rushes in it. He gasps as he spots the scene... Celestia shrieks in horror and Point Man just finds cover at the corner of the doorway.

Alma, in her children form, holds all Replicas and some Royal Guards at their throats with her telekinetic. They all are taken by surprise from her appearing. The Replicas and the Royal Guards are grunting in pain. Alma chuckles, she enjoys their struggling. With all sudden, every living being in the throne hall, with the exception of Michael, explodes in a bloody shower.

*SPLATCH!!!*

Guts, smashed organ pieces, shattered bones and blood are flying wildly through the hall, leaving thick, slimy red stains on the walls and throne. Then a explosion at the place where Alma stands occurs. Michael is hurled against a wall.

“MICHAEL!!!” shrieks Celestia, but she doesn’t runs up to him. He falls from the wall to the ground, unmoving.

Alma just chuckles again and bounces up to Michael, almost like Pinkie Pie, while purring out a random tune. Like she didn’t nothing...

Just as she almost jumps on the unconscious Michael, she dissolves in thin dust....

*SLAP!*

Again, Point Man slaps Michael in his face, to wake him up. Just as Michael opens his eyes, Point Man holds his hands up and shows him four fingers and asks “How many fingers do you see?”

To Michael’s response, he shows Point Man again his middle finger. Point Man groans and says to Celestia, who stands at the other side of Michael “See? He’s fine!”

Michael stands up and looks at the mess. The whole throne hall has a new color.

Red.

 And it smells awful. Bloodstained bones and skulls are lying on the ground. A pony skeleton, the eyes are still in it’s skull, hangs over Celestia’s wet throne. A ripped human body lies against a wall, it’s guts are spilling over the ground. It’s just a gruesome sight. And Celestia can’t use her throne now for a while... “I think our lovely little girl is on rampage...” mutters Michael.

Celestia let out a quiet sob. She worried about Michael a lot. And she developed feelings for him. Even when he’s a totally different species, she likes him more than... whatever. And they all are threatened everytime by Alma or by her apparitions. And Celestia is frightened about the thought of losing Michael. A long time ago, she was together with a Royal Guard. He cared about her, like Michael cares about her now. Not in the same way, but he makes feel Celestia safe. Her former lover was killed by a demonic creature. Even as his life bleeds out, he proved his love to her...

But Michael is different. He protects her in a more aggressive way. He seems to doesn’t care about his own life. And that is the thing what makes Celestia frightened. Before she can tell her love to him, he might be gone...

“Now we should go to Luna, to look after if she’s okay!” says Michael, turns around and walks past Princess Celestia, who stares at him. He notices her starin, but he doesn’t mind. Instead, he jogs up to Lunas room and opens the door. Celestia trots up behind him.

*POW!*

Michael stumbles a little and he moves his left hand to his chest.

“LUNA? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” shouts Celestia. Luna shoots at Michael in shock.

“...OH NO. I’M SO SORRY!!!” cries Luna and collaps on the ground, weeping.

“Hey... don’t be worried! It didn’t harm me... but it hurts!” groans Michael. To his luck, his SK4 kevlar vest holds the bullet back. But a nasty blue stain is on his chest at the place where the bullet landed.

He walks to Luna and takes away his pistol from her and says “You are not safe for using firearms!”

Celestia let out a loud sigh, then she says “Luna, if you use a pistol again, I will banish you to the moon again. And Michael...,” she turns to him,”If you give my sister again a weapon, I will banish you to the moon, too!”

Michael says “If you do this... I’ll die... but okay, I’ll not give Luna again a firearm! Sorry for this!”

As Michael says “I’ll die”, she winced slightly at this. Then she says “Please... stay alive”

I need you... she thinks...

Earth, Fairport, Armacham Underground Facilities

        “What?!” shouts Genevieve, “The group didn’t manage to capture that freakin' horse? But how?”

“Yes, the two subjects Michael Becket and P1 wiped out the whole group, Sir!” says Replica Commander Echo-1.

Genevieve thinks for a while, then she says “Well, we will send them a ultimatum. If they don’t comply... please start Order-1337! You know what that means!”

“Yes, Sir!”
