“URGENT NEWS FLASH: AN ENTIRE SCHOOL OF CHILDREN WAS MURDERED YESTERDAY MORNING, ALONG WITH THE STAFF OF THE BUILDING. NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHO DID IT, AND THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO PROMOTE ANYTHING, EXCEPT THAT ALL OF THE DEATHS WERE CAUSED BY EITHER, A PUNCTURE WOUND TO THE HEAD OR DECAPITATION OR BOTH.”
Mary Jane could hear the radio say while on her way to the town meeting in the town square.
Oh god! What did you do this time!
I did exactly what that radio said. Hey did those toys I sent you while you were in my mind help pass the time at all?
No! I was worrying about those poor little kids!
Rrrrriiiigggghhhhttt. Of course you were. Keep in mind that I am your mind ok?
Whatever! Just shut up!
Ok, ok, jeez! You please a mare to her darkest desires and what do you get? Shoved into the darkest recesses of her mind!
“Oh hey Mary! Did you hear about the poor foals who were slaughtered by some criminal lowlife? That certainly makes me feel safe living in this town!” Said the mare, her comment heavy with sarcasm.
“Y-yeah me too...” Mary said.
“Mary? Are you ok?” Asked the mare.
“Uh no...I need to get back home, I’m not feeling very well...” She said aloud.
What are you doing? You had your fun! Now stop it!
That whore called me a lowlife criminal! I’m not a lowlife and I’m not a criminal! I’m a mass murderer and a serial killer! I should be treated with more respect!
Her thoughts argued with each other as she walked back towards her house. She stopped when she heard the mayor begin talking about the murderer’s profile. It turns out they had a really bad profiler because they pony the explained didn’t look anything like her. Mary Jane felt eyes staring at her, she looked up and saw a stallion with jet black bat wings and a horn to match, along with bright blue eyes that she seemed to get sucked into. She shifted on her hooves uncomfortably and looked back up at the mayor, suddenly she felt sick and didn't care what she had to say anymore. She quietly excused herself and began slipping out of the crowd to get out. She turned around to see that the stallion was gone. Her heart skipped a beat, she laughed at herself.
What is there to be scared of? He was just a normal pony trying to hear what the mayor was saying. She thought to herself.
She began walking back home.
I really should have given that bitch a piece of my mind! I would have made her death as slow as possible! Grrr! We should make ourself known! No one would stand up to us! We could rule all of Equestria with the power of fear!
Suddenly she heard a rustle behind her, she quickly turned around and saw nothing. She breathed a sigh of relief and turned around to see the stallion that was just staring at her, just visible at the end of the road. She gasped and flipped around to run away. She laughed nervously to her self about how she's acting like a silly foal on nightmare night. Even so, she quickened her pace to get home faster.
I jus- did you- wasn’t he- huh?
As she walked past him, she could have sworn that the temperature drop several degrees. She turned around to see that he was staring at her again, but his eyes were blood red, they seemed to emit pure evil and anger. She screamed and began to sprint home.
Oh Celestia who cares if someone knows about Dope Vision, I have to get out of here NOW!
She turned around to see he was still behind her. She turns back just in time to see a tree and swerve out of the way, looking back at the tree she was thankful she didn’t- THUMP - hit it...
Oh smooth moves idiot!
Now is not the best time to be smart ass!
Let me at this guy! I’ll take him down in an instant!
Dazed she looks up only to see a pony as dark as the night itself with wings fully extended, teeth bared and eyes red, just at the other end of the road. She watched as he disappeared...
Maybe I’m still feeling the effects of the LSD.
Only to reappear, this time on the left side of the road, and closer. He growled, a sound that shouldn’t be possible for a pony. He disappeared again, she looked to the right side of the road, expecting to see the beast. He wasn’t there, she looked to the left again, nothing there. After waiting for what seemed an eternity, Mary slowly got up and, making sure that no one was around, dusted herself off. When she looked back up, the eyes! They were right in her face, nothing but blackness and those burning eyes. Those eyes forced her to her knees as he spoke in a voice that would haunt her for the rest of her life.
“You need to pay for what you’ve done.” and swung his wing at her. The last thing Mary Jane saw was a wing flying towards her face and then the ground came rushing up to meet her.
Mary Jane strained to open her eyes as she started waking up, “Where am I?” She tried rubbing her eyes but her arms were strapped to a table.
She began to panic and kick her legs but she found that those were strapped down to. She felt the panic beginning to build in her throat until it burst out.
The green mare started screaming and kicking but she strapped in tight, spread eagle style, to a table.
“PLEASE DON’T KILL ME I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG!” A black hoof swung down
and smacked the green mare in her face.
“Don’t lie to me, I brought you down here for a second chance at your miserable life. Lying won't get you anywhere.” He waved his hoof around the underground soundproof room they were in.
“Who are you?! Please don't hurt me! I've done nothing wrong!”
Shadowfang began circling her, “I'm Shadowfang, I brought you down here to sate my curiosity.”
“W-what? Sate your curiosity? Your curiosity about what?”
“I wanted to see if you were a mass murderer and serial killer.”
Aha! So we are well known!
Shut up!
She sniffled, “Shadowfang please hear reason! I wasn’t even near the school that night!” Shadowfang fired up his horn looking at her coldly.
“Who said anything about the school?” He used his magic to levitate her beautiful green wings from under her, “Hmm, shame. She just preened these to.” and snapped her right wing clean in half.
He let it fold back under her and she began kicking and screaming harder.
“YOU BASTARD! You’re making a huge mistake! I only knew because the news said those fillies died at the school! I heard about the school in the news! I swear!” Shadow smiled still levitating her other wing and she saw him look at it and began panicking, “Ohcelestiaohcelestiaohcelestiaohcelestia.” He raised it higher and she screeched, “Shadow I swear to you I never killed those poor foals!!!”
Shadowfang shook his head, as if disappointed at her, and said calmly, “What did I say about lying?” He lifted her other wing and snapped it and placed it behind her. “It doesn’t get you anywhere.”
The mare was beyond sane, screaming and crying.
Shadow bent down so they were face to face and said, “If you want all this to end, tell me why you killed them.”
Tears streamed down the green mares face as she sobbed, “Please Shadowfang!! I swear it wasn’t me! I changed! You know I would never do that to anypony. Come on Shadowfang I'll do anything! I'll pay you!! I have tons of money! I'll fuck you whenever you want however you want!! I'll tell everyone that you saved me from Diamond Dogs!! Yeah that’s how my wings were broken! The town will love you!!” Shadowfang walked around the mare strapped to the table clicking his tongue and picked up his favorite knife.
“Hush now, none of that. You need to pay for what you’ve done.”
She saw the knife and began jerking her body around and started screaming hysterically,” SHADOW PLEASE!!! It was her! She told me to! She took control of me! I loved those fillies like they were my
own!” He stopped and faced away from her admiring his various tools he planned on using.
He continued, “Even if it was the ‘Other you’, I need to make sure that this kind of problem doesn’t happen to anypony else again, you’re too dangerous to keep around.” Suddenly the screaming and crying stopped and a creaking followed by a loud snap came from behind him.
Shadow flipped around just in time to see a green streak barrel into him and knock him across the room. He quickly got up only to get a stinging slash to his eye; he rolled around holding at his eye trying to stop the blood and terrible pain coming from it.
He looked up with his good eye and saw the green mare standing over him, eyes wild looking, holding his knife dripping with his fresh blood on it.
“You’re weak Shadow” she panted, “You know I killed those fillies in cold blood and you took me down here to try and ‘help’ me.”
Shadow tried standing but got a swift hoof to his face and knocked him down again. She began to laugh insanely, “Oh Shadow! You silly stallion! You should have killed me when you had the chance!” She stopped laughing and looked down at him with a scary twisted grin, “I won't make the same mistake.” Then she swung the knife down at him as hard as she could.
