Equestrian Horizon: The Elements of Chaos

Chapter 8

Rainbow Dash had been resting on her couch in her house with Scootaloo. Who had been helping her with her injuries. She had just finished bringing her a cup of tea.

"It might not be that good but, hey at least I tried" said Scootaloo

Rainbow Dash adjusted her position on the couch to sit up, "Ah," she took the tea, "No worries Scoots. It's perfect," She took a sip.

"What happened down there anyways?" said Scootaloo

"I don't know," Rainbow Dash answered, "I couldn't really describe what I saw. Those things didn't even look like they were from Equestria. They were beastly, demonic, and incredibly creepy."

"I saw what happened on the T.V., it looked like, whatever it was, was targeting the town." said Scootaloo

"I don't think so kid," said Rainbow Dash, "from the looks of it, it looked like it was after the guys."

"The guys?" said Scootaloo

"Uhhhh," there was no way Rainbow Dash couldn't explain much about the guys. She barely knew anything about them, "Yeah they're… new in town. They're different though. They're not like any pony I've ever met. They're destructive but protective as well. They're not jerks they're just… Clumsy when it comes to helping. You've probably already met Michael and Chandler."

"Actually I did," said Scootaloo, "They escaped from the school and we followed them…"

"You did what?" Rainbow Dash interrupted

"That's not the point. There was a creepy pony standing at the edge of the forest where we followed them. He said, 'Don't listen to the voice' or something like that. We heard a roar. And fled back into town." said Scootaloo

Rainbow Dash pondered for a second. It seemed like everything was linked to each other. The monsters, The Elements of Chaos, Brandon's knowledge of Nightfire. It all strangely fell into place with each other. There was no explanation though. Things made no sense. Rainbow Dashes head began to hurt and she sat back down on the couch.

"Rainbow Dash. Are you okay?" said Scootaloo

"Yeah. I'm fine Scoots," said Rainbow Dash, "I just. I just need some rest."

Rainbow Dash laid down and fell asleep. There were too many questions that needed to be answered. But those answers would all come into clear focus soon enough.

Michael in the meantime was recovering at Fluttershy's home. He was regaining consciousness from the hit he took. He looked around and took notice of his surroundings.

"Where the fuck am I?" said Michael

"Oh you're okay." said Fluttershy, "I thought you'd be out for a while."

Michael remembered the fight and the hit he took. "The guys." He said, "Are they alright?"

Fluttershy sat next to him. "I," said Fluttershy, "I'm not sure. I think I saw Brandon fly out of the forest on our way here. But I didn't stay for long. I had leave to get you hear as soon as possible."

"What happened to the monsters," He asked

"They disappeared. I can't really say they're gone though. They look like they'd come back. They always do after all?" said Fluttershy

"You've dealt with stuff like this? Is this like a regular thing around here." Michael asked

"Where exactly are you guys from again?" asked Fluttershy

Michael remembered. The ponies only knew that they weren't from Ponyville. What would they do if they found out they aren't even originally the same species. But Michael couldn't hold back, he had to tell the truth. "Fluttershy. We're…… Do you believe in other worlds?"

"What do you mean." said Fluttershy

"I mean. What if I told you that we're not from this world. We come from a world that's…. already been taken over by greed, hypocrisy, and war. It's a world with as much Pros as there are Cons. There's no magic no pegasi.All the things we see here are of myths and fairy tales. We haven't been all that honest with all of you. We have a…. Fairly questionable past. I can't really tell you much about it. But I promise. Everything will be told to you guys as soon as we find out what's been going on." said Michael

Fluttershy got closer to him. She layed down next to him. "I right now don't care what you've all done before you showed up. What I've seen proves, you are heroes. No one can deny it. Now get some rest."

"Umm. Sir where's the bed?" said Michael

"You're on it silly." said Fluttershy

Michael turned around and punched the air. He Whispered "Fuck yes!"

The sun went down and the night went silent. It was about time Michael got some rest.

Michael opened his eyes to find himself in a dark facility. Gears and cogs surrounded him. He saw blood satins on the walls. All he could here was the sound of machinery at work. He advanced further through a long hallway. The room was decorated with more cogs and gears, it all had a very Victorian steampunk feel to it all. The hallway at the end had what looked to be an elevator. Michael stepped into the elevator in hopes of finding a way out. The wall in the back of the elevator had a map to the complex. He looked at the level that said, "Activation Floor". He hit the button that would lead him there. The elevator rose up. When he made it to the floor he walked onto a catwalk. Where he observed other ponies at the bottom floor at work. All of them were in heavy military like clothing. Inside the room was nothing but pumping pistons, and turning gears. A big screen hung up from the ceiling diagonally facing down on the armed unit. One of them spoke.

"Is the test subject ready?" said the pony

"Yes. Their bringing him in right now." said another

At that moment, a door opened and a scientist rolled in a pony in a wheelchair. The pony had no clothes. It had no legs and from the looks of it was a pegasus. But this pegasus had no wings. Instead, there were only small stubs where his wings would be. He was hooked up on some kind of life support system.

The scientist approached the armed unit. "The subject is ready for the merge."

A large machine was rolled into the room. It looked like a giant robot. Instead of arms, it had a mini gun on the right, and a blade on the left. In the center of the robot was a pilot seat of some sort. It was a hollow space to fit an amputated pony like the one below. They unhooked the pony off of his life support system and loaded him onto the robot. Needles from the robot inserted themselves into the ponies stubs that used to be his legs and wings. The robot activated. It stood now a good 11ft tall. It looked down all the other ponies.

"Doc," said one of the armed guards, "This might be your finest work yet."

Just then, the facility began to rumble. The ground shook and parts ceiling even fell.

"Doctor Cliven" said the guard, "The airship's under attack again."

The hanging screen went on. A pony who appeared to Rainbow Dash appeared on screen. She looked different though. As if she had just finished fighting a nuclear war.

"Doctor," said Rainbow Dash, "We have your ship surrounded. Give it up now."

"Rainbow Dash," Doctor, "You cannot fight this. Your little resistance cannot hold for much longer. Fighting for the good side is futile now."

"Doc you're gonna have to give up. This isn't right. Using the disabled for these purposes. It's wrong." said Rainbow Dash

"You are going to have to face the facts!" said the Doctor, "We've already won!! You've lost. And I will make sure that you live long enough to see the fall of your people!! Renegade-16553, exterminate that pest of a pegasus!!"

The robot created wings out of a pixie dust like a material and flew straight through the rough of the facility. Michael's head began to throb. The image became less clear. His vision blurred and pulsated. He went into a rage of agony as he flinched on the ground in pain. The pain hit its maximum point and Michael woke up. He looked around and noticed he was still in Fluttershy's cottage. He layer awake for the rest of the night. He knew this wasn't a dream. It was a vision.

Brandon in the meantime had just arrived at Rainbow Dash's house.

"Hey is anyone here?" said Brandon

Rainbow Dash walked out from upstairs. "Hey. Glad to see you're not dead."

"Believe me. After seeing what went down today, I kinda wish I was. Where's Scoots." said Brandon

"Oh, she left. It was time for her to head back to her place." said Rainbow Dash

"She doesn't live with you? I thought you two were sisters." said Brandon

"We are…. Kind of. She's adopted by me." said Rainbow Dash

"Officially adopted," said Brandon

"I mean not officially. But we hang around a lot. I consider her my sister now," said Rainbow Dash

"But doesn't hanging around a kid kind of cramp your style?" said Brandon

"What? No! She's a good kid." said Rainbow Dash

"Ah. Why does she live in ponyville though? Don't all young pegasi live in CloudsDale?" said Brandon

"CloudsDale is just a city where only pegasi live. It's not that the council doesn't allow the earth's or the unicorns to live up there, they just physically can't. Only pegasus ponies can walk on clouds after all. Scoots can't really fly also. I tried teaching her how to fly, but it's difficult for her. I can't blame her really. capable or not that pony is destined for something great. I can feel it." said Rainbow Dash

Rainbow Dash paused. She had a concerned look on her face. She actually worried for Brandon. She thought of the hit he took. She was curious of what went down in the forest, but she didn't ask. It was better for her to keep her thoughts to herself. She didn't want to put him in an uncomfortable position after what happened after all.

"Listen." said Brandon, "I know it's kinda hard to talk about this but, I need to know more about NightFire."

Rainbow Dash swallowed. She choked up a bit. "Why are you so curious."

Brandon spoke up, "Look it's a bit hard to explain my reasons. I just have a feeling that his disappearance is connected to those things attacking us. This correlates as well with a lot of stuff that's been going on with us recently. But I need you to take me to the weather factory. I've got a feeling the first thing that'll give me clues, is if I get my studies on with some weather patterns. Is there anyway you can get me there?"

"Of course I can," Rainbow Dash said

"Alright. What's the plan for sneaking in?" said Brandon

"Don't worry Brandon. We won't have to sneak in." said Rainbow Dash

"We don't?" said Brandon

"Yeah," Rainbow Dash walked over to her front door, "My dad works there. He even takes me on bring your kid to work day."

"That sounds like torture," Brandon chuckled

"Oh it is," said Rainbow Dash, "I've never really been into the slow working life. Going about an every day routine is not really my style. Why do you think I left CloudsDale. I came to Ponyville to look for opportunities. And I found them."

Brandon walked to the front door.

"Well," said Dash, "You comin'?"

"Well what else am I going to do?" said Brandon

Rainbow Dash grinned, "Come on. Let's fly!"
