Zachary Cricket is an "ordinary college student" that is "average" in every sense of the word. So what is an "average college student" doing in Equestria? Regardless of who he was, he's going to have to rely on his new "friends" if he wants to adjust to life in Equestria.

However, when Twilight Sparkle's friendship studies reach their culmination, rumors of a mysterious organization begin to surface. At this point, Zachary's story seems a little off to the ponies of Ponyville, and he begins to exhibit odd behavior.

Questions arise about whether Zachary is truly an average human, or even human at all. At this point, it may have been too late, for the mysterious organization in question has big plans. And Twilight Sparkle is right in the middle of them.
