Love Hurts

Changeling story outline I just typed up on my phone:

Estimated word count: 3k to 12k

Love hurts

But sometimes it's a good hurt

And it feels like I'm alive

A power-stripped Chrysalis is tasked by princess Luna to make some friends and get a cutie mark. The cutie mark crusaders try to win her over, with limited success. Then she discovers her love of karaoke. And a brave stallion says "any pony who is a friend of karaoke is a friend of mine. They become friends, and she starts to find that camaraderie isn't so bad after all. But then she somehow scares and disgusts him away and... She actually feels hurt. And this is a weird hurt that she hasn't felt before. It's... Love? (The brotherly type. I figure why not have a story about love that isn't romantic or sexual?) but it makes her feel like she is alive. She seeks comfort at a Karaoke bar, and gives a passionate rendition of the title song by incubus to a stunned crowd. What she doesn't know is that the cutie mark crusaders have begged/dragged this other pony back to the bar, and he sees that chrysy isn't just trying to use him; she actually cares about him. He rushes up into the stage, and they finish the song as a duet to thunderous applause. Chrysalis gets her cutie mark: a broken heart sewn back together, symbolizing that while once she used love to destroy, she now has and understands its power to heal and unite. End credits roll over her singing an encore song about how she still doesn't quite understand this "crazy little thing called love." The end.
