Ed was leaning against the wall as he heard cheering and ponies laughing as what ever event went on. At this point he wasn't even sure what the event was but he decided it could wait till after the villain was found. So far he had no leads and was only going on suspicion and hope at this point as he looked at Diamond Tiara. She was leaning against the wall in front of him as they stayed there in the alley waiting as time flew by. He had sent a text to the Princess telling her that he needed to see one of the secret guards following him. He thought somebody might have called by now or he would have seen somepony enter the alleyway. It was already 10 minutes and so far Ed was already having second thoughts about this plan.

"Either she's busy or..." Ed's train of thought trailed off as he saw three stallions enter the alleyway from the crowd.

He was about to see if they were the guards but quickly recognized the same outfit all three stallions were wearing along with the shades and chuckled.

"This all you brought?" Ed said as he got off the wall and walked to the middle of the alleyway. He took a look back turning his head as he stopped and saw nobody at the other entrance of the alleyway and felt the wind shift in front of him.

As he turned his head back to the stallions he was already lifting his arm as he tilted his head using the least amount of movement to dodge the fist being flung at his face. The stallions fist almost touched Ed's cheek as he missed the punch. Ed's arm was already in position as he sent the stallions stumbling back as Ed face palmed the stallion. The stallion almost fell backwards but was quickly caught by his two friends.

"Well that was rude" Ed said as he put his arms behind his head.

"Don't be cocky with me kid, I'll-"

"Listen I don't got all day so tell me something useful or I'll beat it out of you" Ed said cutting off the stallion he face palmed.

"Why you little-"

Lyra Heartstrings

"Lyra!"

The green Unicorn was sleeping as she heard her name being called. She slowly opened her eyes and tilted up her head to see her friend Bon Bon coming running into the room she was in. She didn't get a second to yawn as her friend suddenly started shaking her.

"Lyra wake up!" Bon Bon said as she shook the green Unicorn back and forth.

"I'm awake I'm awake" She said as motioned the mare to move away as she got up from the desk she was sleeping at.

"Yeesh what time it is?" She said as she stretched her arms and her back.

"2 o'clock exactly but that's not important right now, you've been put back on the follower duty" Bon Bon said as she tried to keep from shaking her friend.

"Oh... wait what?" The mare responded becoming confused and intrigued.

"You'll never guess who you'll be following this time" Bon Bon said as she opened her bag and fished out a photo.

As the mare looked through her bag she found that it was gone and looked back to Lyra and saw that she was holding it as she held it to her face inspecting it.

"Why can't anyone else do this?" She asked as she handed back the picture to Bon Bon and began getting dressed using magic to help her.

"The higher ups thought that too many followers on the target would arose suspicion to the target itself as he already can spot our ponies from what we know"

"And so if they send the very best it eliminates the chances of suspicion correct?" Lyra said as she came out of the bath room and began gathering her things.

"Correct" The mare said as she smiled at her friend then looked out the window of there apartment seeing the ponies go here and there..

"But tell me Lyra, is it true that you saw him using magic without a horn?" She asked as she turned back around and saw that her friend was ready to go.

"I already told you for the fifth time yes" The mare said as she went to the door and opened it.

Bon Bon quickly moved to the door closing it behind her as she started walking with her friend. "But it always bothers me that you were the only one on the scene that saw it, were you sure he used magic without a horn"

Lyra just chuckled. "I don't need to see him use magic to know he has it, I already knew he had it to begin with"

Bon Bon stopped walking as she had a brain malfunction then started walking again to catch up to her friend. "But how would you know?"

Lyra just smiled as she stopped and looked to at her friend. "Maybe one day I can tell you... but for now I gotta go follow a human"

Edward Elric

"Let's try this again"

Ed was walking slowly around the three stallions as they were on their knees as Ed eyed each on of them. They weren't moving as they were afraid of what would happen if they did. They all had semi-serious injuries and were all shaking as they heard the human behind them as he stepped with each foot. The footsteps stopped and the stallions skin crawled as they felt a dark presence behind them.

"Where can I find your boss"

All three of the stallions just nervously sat there on there knees as Ed patiently waited for an answer.

"Well?" Ed asked slowly tapping the ground with his foot like an impatient kid.

"I think I can help you with that my good human" ???

Ed didn't sense the mare walk up behind him as he turned around to look at the source of the voice. He saw a green unicorn grinning at him as she stood only a few feet away from him. He quickly gave her a once over trying to figure out who she was. Was she the secret guard that he requested or someone else?

"And how can you help me?" Ed asked as he looked past her and inspected the wall he put up to block anyone from getting in the alley and saw that it was undisturbed.

"She must have hopped over it with magic or.." Eds thought was interrupted as the green mare walked to his side and leaned in.

"Trust me" She whispered as she leaned back out and smiled at the human.

Ed thought about it for a second before shrugging and moving aside.

"Even if she can't help, these fools weren't gonna tell me anything anyway unless I got persuasive" Ed thought as he leaned against the wall and crossed his arms watching the mare move to the stallions.

She slowly lit her horn and tapped one of the stallions making the poor guy freeze as if he was about to die. Ed didn't blame him, he said earlier that he would kill all three of them if it came to it, but he really didn't mean it.

A few seconds later the mare turned around and sighed. She walked up to Ed and folded her arms. "This guys aren't gonna tell us anything so just let them go" The mare said as Ed frowned.

He was about to object but saw that the mare was smiling and didn't say anything as she then winked at him. Ed sort of got the idea as he went ahead and put his trust in the strange mare as he uncrossed his arms and clapped his hands. He causally placed a hand on the wall he leaned on and suddenly he felt a small surge of energy go through his hand as the wall he made blocking anyone from getting in the alleyway was gone as it sunk back into the ground.

Ed sighed "Alright your free to go"

As soon as he said that he saw all three stallions get up and sprint out the alley as if death was chasing them himself. He got off the wall and started walking out of the alley way with the mare close beside as Diamond Tiara came into view running up to them.

"Did they say anything!?" She asked as she then noticed the mare standing next to the human and quickly hugged Ed.

"Don't worry she's here to help, she put a tracking spell on those bad guys so we can find out there secret lair" Ed said as he put a hand the fillys on the head.

The mare just blinked before grinning. "How'd ya know?" She asked as she put a hand to her hip impressed.

"Just a good guess" Ed grinned as he patted Diamond Tiara twice on the head motioning her to let go as she did.

"Now I'm guessing you get the general idea of whats going on?' Ed asked as the mare put a hand to her chin and thought carefully.

She stood there thinking for a good ten seconds before putting her hand down and clearing her throat.

"That's Diamond Tiara so I'm guessing somebody's out to get her and you just got carried into it so now your protecting her and you need to track down the leader so you can beat some sense into him?"

It was Ed's turn to blink as he starred at the mare.

"Lyra Heartstrings" She said as she smiled and held out her hand.

Ed took a second to grab her hand and smiled back. "Edward Elric, but you know that already"

She chuckled and blushed as her green fur turned a little red.. "I guess you can say that" She said as she rubbed the back of her head.

Ed just smiled and then put on a serious face. "So what now?"

"For now uh... I'd like um... your phone number" Lyra said while still blushing.

"Huh?" Ed said as he titled his head.

"I-I mean it's for the thing, I mean spell" The mare said while Ed was still confused.

"It's gonna take a while for them to head back to there base, I can feel them slowly moving through a bunch of alleys and streets" Lyra said as she closed her eyes and lit her horn.

Ed just smiled as he took out his phone. "Sure thing Lyra"

She smiled back as her blush toned down a little and she reached over with her hand and a green aura surrounded his phone. Soon he heard her own phone beep. She nodded and put her hand to her side.

"I'm under L, I'll give you a call when I locate there base" She said as she smiled one last time and started walking away.

Ed just watched as the mare disappeared into the crowd and sighed.

"Do you trust that mare kid?" Ed asked as he looked down to his side and saw that the filly was gone.

"Diamond Tiara!?" Ed called out as he looked around him for the little filly. He was about to yell before he spotted her at some window belonging to some shop.

He let out a breath of relief and walked over to her making sure she was okay. "Hey kid what are you-?" Ed just stopped as he looked inside the window the little filly was staring in a felt his stomach growl. There was sweets everywhere along with a bunch of donuts ranging from type you can think of. Ed was about to decline the thought of eating before he noticed way too many familiar faces looking at him.

He saw Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and then to top it off, Octavia, Berry Punch, Cherrilee, Derpy , and Vinyl, plus Spitfire, Trixie and some other mare that Ed couldn't didn't know. It was like Ed's entire friends list was here in one great big room eating donuts and sweets together. Now the window was one of though big glass frames that show off all the great donuts and such you can select from. So far nobody saw him as he slowly turned away and began walking away from the window as he pulled Diamond Tiara away.

"Come on kid we gotta-"

"ED!" He suddenly heard from behind him as a sudden ghost came phasing through his body causing him to jump.

"M!?" He shouted as he tripped and landed on his front. He groaned as he slowly got up and saw that the ghost was halfway through the ground as Ed was on his hands and knees.

"Damn it M" He said as he suddenly heard a bell ring and his name called.

"Ed! You made it!"

Edward didn't need to look to know who's voice that was. He got up to his feet and smiled as he turned around.

"Hey Twilight"

One Minute Later

Ed was sitting around all his lady friends as they kept on talking in there own conversations. To give you a more in depth description without confusing anybody. Fluttershy was smiling while staying quiet, Rainbow Dash looked like she was in a conflict with herself as she tried to think of a way to talk to Spitfire. Trixie was boasting to Derpy about her latest spell which went pretty well because Derpy was lost in the conversation. Octavia was sitting next to Fluttershy casually eating her donut with the same monotone face. And everybody else was just off in there conversations with each other. Except for the mystery mare who was sitting at the counter of the place..

Ed got up and walked over taking a seat next to her. "What are you doing all alone here" Ed asked.

The girl turned around and Ed saw that her mouth was full of Donuts. Ed leaned back a little from the sight but not wanting to be rude, asked her name.

"I've never seen you around her Ms.-" Ed quickly knew who it was as her eyes and hair glowed and shimmered for a second showing colors of blue.

"Well Well Princess, isn't it a bit unladylike to be stuffing your face that like that"

The Princess of the Night just gulped down the last of her 2 donuts and let out a breath. "A Princess should never stuff her face with food, But these Donuts are quite delicious indeed"

Ed just smiled while Luna blushed a little. "Don't worry about it, nothing wrong with eating the way you want to"

Luna smiled back and nodded before slamming her fist onto the counter. "Joe! I beseech more Donuts!"

"Coming right up!" The stallion yelled in back with a hint of excitement.

Ed grinned as he made his way back to the table and found that all the mares were silent as Ed sat down. He was about to ask what was up before Rainbow Dash suddenly stood up.

"You didn't tell us you saved Spitfire!" Rainbow blurted out as she pointed a finger at Ed like it was some kind of secret.

"Really girls it's no big deal" Spitfire said as she wanted to keep the whole thing kind of low key for the sake of Ed.

"No big deal!? He saved a Wonderbolt, isn't there some kind of medal for that" Rainbow said as Spitfire pondered about it for a moment.

"Well actually-" Spitfire started before another mare interrupted.

"Hold it, let's not forget that Edward Elric saved the Great and Powerful Trixie on that dreadful and stormy night" Trixie said as she stood up on one of the tables holding her hand out like she was a damsel in distress or something.

"Hey we can't forget about how he saved the Cutie Mark Crusaders from a fire now can we?" Applejack said as she got her 2 cents in.

"You saved some fan club from a fire?" Spitfire asked as she turned to Ed.

"Well uh-" Ed started before the little filly eating her donuts stood up suddenly and slid to Ed.

"Or today when he saved me from-"

"Starvation, right?" Ed said cutting off Diamond Tiara who only nodded as she realized that she was supposed to keep it a secret.

Applejack raised and eyebrow while Octavia's eyes moved to Ed at this action before Twilight stood up.

"Girl's Girl's, Ed had done a lot of things for us, and we thank him for it but... wait how did you actually save Spitfire?" Twilight asked wanting to know how.

"She told us you caught her after she almost took a nose dive to the ground but then you carried her perfectly fine to the hospital the next minute after" Twilight asked as she walked towards Ed.

"Actually Trixie would like to know how you saved her from the stormy night that night too?" Trixie asked as she stood up as well.

"And how did you get out of that burning house while the whole dang thing was on fire" Applejack asked as she stood up and walked towards Ed.

Ed was being overwhelmed with questions and didn't know what to do. While he wanted to seem normal and friendly, he may have done to much to make his friends ask too many questions about his methods. Soon they would ask about his past and then...

A sudden jingle was heard from the door's bell and everyone turned to look. Standing straight were two stallions with armor and swords at there hips. Ed immediately knew something was off.

"Yes?" Ed said as he walked up to the two guards and stopped in front of them.

"Celestia has sent us as you requested." One of the guards said causing Ed's eyes to widen.

"So who was..."

"Yes I'd like to ask some questions really fast" Ed said as he motioned them to the outside. Before he went through the door he turned around and said "Be right back"

He then went outside with the stallions and sighed as he did. "Alright what are your names"

"Swift" "Nova" They both answered.

Ed just walked back and forth while thinking quickly.

"Whats wrong sir?" Swift asked as Nova asked. "Is there anything you need?"

Ed stopped pacing and looked at both of them seriously. "I need you to listen carefully, I need a small task of guards to be at my beck and call at any second because right now someone is trying to kill that little filly in there and probably me now"

"What!?" They both asked as Ed held a finger out silencing them.

"They need to be hidden at all times, I will text your Princess when to move them out understand" Ed said as both guards were confused.

"But sir we need to get you to a secure-"

"No you don't, I'm going to find whoever's trying to kill that little girl and make sure they go to prison for life, in order to do that I need to find them"

"But how will you find them?"

Ed just sighed before he felt a vibration from his pocket. Ed took out his phone and saw that it was a call from Lyra. He looked from the phone to the guards and quickly made a decision.

"I'm going to put my faith in this call like I'm going to put my faith in you two" Ed said as both guards looked at him confused.

"Don't let me down" He said as he looked to the window and saw everyone inside. Everyone was staring at him and the guards while Diamond Tiara was paying attention to Ed's hand.

She saw him put two fingers up like a peace sign meaning that he needed a distraction. She remembered when they were on the train
and he was telling her about hand signs and such that he would give if they were ever separated. This was one of them. She immediately fell to the floor and closed her eyes as if she was passed out. Everyone in the store quickly turned to the filly and began crowding her as Ed looked back to the guards and nodded. They took a second before nodding back and quickly leaving before Ed answered his call.

"Let's do this".

Inside The Store

Everyone was making sure that the filly was okay and that the situation was normal as Diamond Tiara was given some water and being monitored by Twilight. Outside the ring of mares were two that were talking in hushed tones so that no one would hear them.

"You saw the sign right"

"Of course silly, but that doesn't mean danger is afoot"

"He shared it with the filly, that means he had a purpose for doing it"

"I know I know... fine you can go, but don't reveal yourself unless you have to okay"

"I know Pink"

"Just be careful okay Tavi, don't wanna ruin time"
