Ed had only been gone a week, just a week, and in that time he saved Shining Armor, watched over him till he was healthy, met a time traveler, and discovered a secret society that worked for him and his ways. Though in all this time he never once thought that anything would happen back home when he was gone in that one week. He was wrong.

Ed arrived at his apartment at 10 in the morning and was baffled by the new design of his home. There was a fresh layer of paint over the whole apartment, everything including the gate to the apartment looked brand new as Ed pushed through the gate doors surprised they didn't fall off like usual. He stared for a long time as he saw his apartment in the prime of its time. If it even had a prime this would defiantly be it. His home looked the same but just new and fresh like you sprayed a mirror with some cleaner supplies and made it shine like it had never been dirty before. Ed thought he was dreaming as he brought a hand to his cheek and pinched himself.

"Ow!" He yelped as he forgot his own strength and pinched himself rather hard.

"Defiantly not dreaming" Ed thought as he rubbed his cheek and took one last look at the apartment before walking up to the door.

"Maybe this isn't the right apartment?" Ed pondered as he rung the doorbell.

Ed wasn't ready for it but all of a sudden the bass had dropped scaring the crap out of Ed as dubstep could be heard booming at the front door. Ed almost had a heart attack as the music was doubled this time then the last time he had rung it.

"Ed!"

He heard the familiar voice come from below him as he saw the ghost pop her head out from the ground.

"Hey M" Ed responded causally as he looked back up and brought up his key, sure that this was his home now.

"What happened while I was gone?" Ed asked as he opened the door and walked into his apartment only to stop as he saw the lobby he and his roommates hanged out in.

Not only had the outside and been redone but so was the inside as Ed saw all new furniture and repainted walls. The floor even shined as he looked down to it as he could almost see his reflection. He looked back up to see the ghost grinning cheek to cheek as she floated there shaking like an excited little kid.

"This isn't even the best part, the kitchen was redone, the bathrooms were redone, heck the whole place was redone like brand new, even our rooms!" M shouted as she shoot through the ceiling. Ed just presumed that she had gone to his room as he went to the stairs eyeing the new railing put in as he put his hand over it slowly climbing the stairs as he did. He made it to his room after admiring the new upstairs hall. He just gulped when he got to his door. As went to open it he stopped and sighed. Shortly after he put his hand on the door and turned the knob slowly opening it. He leaned his head in a little peeking at his room. It only took him a second to realize it but this was no longer his room, he went inside and spotted 4 beds in each corner of the room except his, being the only one he slept on which was big enough for all 4 of the people that slept in here being him, Luna, Spitfire, and Trixie. He saw that his desk and table were also gone and groaned.

"M! Where's my stuff!?" He shouted as he didn't like people touching his stuff his books as he also noticed the stack of books he had were also gone.

"It's in your room!" She shouted as she came bursting through the ground. Ed felt confused at this point. Wasn't he in his room he thought as he remembered this being the same room he slept in with Luna the last time he was here.

"Come on I'll show you!" She glee'd as she phased through the door causing Ed to run after her.

"M wait!" He shouted as she flew through the hall and downstairs. He followed closely behind as he got to the lobby from the stairs. He looked for her as she had disappeared again without a trace. He suddenly heard a creak from behind him near the stairs. He looked and saw that there was a door right beside the staircase that shouldn't have been there. He approached the door slowly opening it revealing more stairs going down. He paused for a second before heading down them. He went down 4 flights of stairs before meeting a door. He wondered what was on the other side as he looked at the door, it being double doors and just a crack open as well.

"We didn't have a basement did we?" Ed asked himself as he pushed through the double doors.

"... What in Celestia's name"

Ed was baffled, shocked, a little bit excited? He looked and saw a room before him, he walked into the room, he stood in the middle of it scanning each and every part of it till he breathed in the air that it held within it. He exhaled. He breathed and again before exhaling again. Then he smiled.

The room was huge, like royalty itself had went and built its own room under the apartment and given it to Ed as he saw his stuff on the the right side of his room were his desk was, his books were shelved by a huge book case that went along most of the right wall, each wall was like 20 meters across, the ceiling was 10 meters up. To put it bluntly to room was freaking huge. He saw that there was a couch added to the room and it was in the back of the room were the flat screen and surround sound system was. Ed squee'd at this. He looked to the left of the room and saw a long and wide mat, probably for sparring Ed thought as he liked the idea already with what he's got to deal with in the future probably. Then he looked down at his table as he saw that there was a note located there and sat on the ground. The ground being a nice rich carpet he might add that covered the whole floor. He took the note and read it out loud.

"Dear Mr. Edward Elric, you have done me a great service by saving my daughter and putting the stallion who tried to hurt her behind bars. Though from Celestia I heard you rather showed him who's boss as you beat him down in front of many, I rather think you are dangerous and a hazard to my daughter but alas you went out of your way to save a filly who owed you nothing and you to her. For this I thank you deeply, I cannot repay such a stallion such as you, so as long as you stay in Equestria you will at least have a luxurious life, that is the least I can do for now, seeing as it is the only thing I can do for now. If you are in need of anything at all let my daughter know as she will be staying with you for the time being, as you are the safest care I can have her in. As you can see from the room I gave you the latest entertainment system, a sparring area if the need were to ever arise of its use, a shelf for all those books you like to read, and an extra room for you to put whatever you want in it."

Ed stopped reading as he looked and saw that extra room he was talking about right next to his work desk and book case. He looked around again spotting a new dresser bigger than the last one and and a long hangar rack with his shirts and jackets from Rarity located in one corner of the room located by the stairs. It had one of those dividers you use for when you want to dress and block any eyes from seeing. Ed thought that it was rather cool. He looked back to the paper and resumed reading it.

"Lastly if there is anything you would need feel free to call, I owe my life to you Edward Elric, I will see to it that you get whatever you desire and more. Your's Truly Mr. Gold"

Ed smiled as he turned the note around seeing nothing else on the back and decided to set it down on his work desk as a memento. As he made his way to his work desk as he saw that he had more room on it now that all his books he borrowed and had were shelved. He smiled at this but raised an eyebrow as he saw just one bag on the desk, bigger than his head as he set the note by it. He slipped his hand inside and grabbed whatever was inside feeling the cold sensation of some metal, he pulled out whatever was in there and his eyes lit up as he saw the bits fall from his hand and back into the bag as he let them slide of his already full hand.

"Maybe coming to Equestria was my reward all along" Ed said with a foolish grin on his face as he eyed the money and the room around him.

"At least I have friends by my side now" He smiled as he set the gold down and made his way to his couch. He went to the front of it and saw that it was rather C shaped and long. A great gamer couch he thought to himself as he fell on top of it. He hadn't slept for a week, and he was tired. He wondered where the light switches were but smiled as he saw a remote on the couch with him. He brought his hand to it and held it to his face as he eyed the light settings, he dimmed the lights till they were off then set the remote down next to him seeing that the remote itself was glow in the dark.

"Jeez he didn't hold back on anything did he" Ed chuckled as he laid his head as he sat in almost complete darkness. The lights may have been off but they were still lit just barely lighting the room to see if your eyes adjusted. Ed knew the first thing he was going to do when he got the chance as he closed his eyes and let sleep take him.

"Note to self... talk to Gold... about my... be... d.."

Somewhere in the room a ghost smiled as she watched the human fall asleep. She just floated to the couch and laid in the air next to him as she closed her eyes as well.

"Good night Ed"

Author's Note

So he's got a flat screen with surround sound and a nice couch. A sparring area, his work area with a book case. A extra room just in case he might need it for storage. A dressing area, and a nice ass rug. The only thing he needed now was a bed to sleep on. Also the room is big as hell.

Either way this is how Mr.Gold pays back Ed and I hope you are jealous.
