A Derpy Hooves Story

It was a dark day in Cloudsdale for a particular pegasi. She was always sad because everypony resented her. They treated her like she was a disease. Nopony would ever spend any time to talk to her. All but two, one to be mentioned, was the Element of Loyalty, Rainbow Dash. Even other outcasts didn't talk to her, making her what she considered herself made her an outcast among outcasts. Sometimes she thought maybe it would be better if she was gone. But she wasn't there yet. She wasn't one to give up easily.

The thing that made her the saddest was their talk about her eyes. She had been in an accident as a young foal, permanently damaging her eyes. She was referred to as 'Derpy' after the incident. The incident had left her with amnesia, and everyone with her had died. She was the lone survivor, so in turn, there was nopony to help her remember her real name.

Derpy one day left Cloudsdale to visit the small town very close to her home, the town was named Ponyville. After she had stayed in Ponyville for a week, she thought about how she had constantly been mocked about her eyes which apparently had a hinderance for her name which appeared to be named Derpy because her eyes were in a 'Derped' State. She looked up a definition of Derped and found it.

Derped: When one's eyes are in a state of opposite. One eye looking up and on one side, while the other was looking down on the opposite side.

Derpy after being there for some time knew she'd have to get a job. She had a foal with her now deceased husband, who's name is not known at this time. Her foal's name was Dinky. Dinky looked like derpy but she did not have 'Derped' eyes. Dinky often wondered why her mom had such eyes, but she thought of it as her mom having a special gift and being special, unlike others who constantly referred to her mom as a 'outcast, freak, monster, disease, and other harsh things.' One day when Dinky got home from her new school in ponyville, she found a note that was from her mom. It's words made Dinky collapse crying.

From Derpy:

I've had a terrible life. I don't belong here. Nopony can accept me for who I am, they only see the outside of me. Nopony cares about my feelings. They just resent me and call me a freak. Now they don't have to anymore. Even the Wonderbolts never had anything positive to say about me. I had Rainbow Dash and the Wondebolts Captain Spitfire, but The only real friend I ever had was a Muscular white stallion some referred to as Roid Rage, others referred to him as Snowflake, or YEAH! Pony. He was an outcast just like me, but unlike me, like his physical form, his mental toughness was like chiseled stone. Nothing ever bothered him. Dinky was crying non-stop. Her mom was dead. (is what she thought) Derpy was on the highest cloud in the sky at the moment. She jumped off crying. The last thing she remembered before she hit the 'ground' was, eating a muffin, her young foal Dinky, and Snowflake. The only three things she considered important in her now 'non-existant' life.
