                                      Chapter Two: Surprises

                                             (Pinkimena)

Pinkimena flipped the switch in her basement, light revealing the panicing unicorn in the room. She had decided since she couldn't find the right Pegasus for the experiment, she could still practice on a unicorn.

The one she had chosen was a light blue mare, with a baby blue colored mane, and white streaks. Looked a lot like toothpaste.

Her cutiemark was a wand with a little star in the top, and a cape-like figure that surrounded it. Her eyes were a appropriate shade of purple, her eyes round, and not at all hesitant.

She had druged her a few hours before, and prepared something "fun" for the preperation of her experiment.

She watched as she was struggling in the chains that was wrapped tightly around her, not succeding to so much as loosening them.

Pinkimena moved the surgery table, propting it upright, and turning it around to face a T.V. She looked at the scared unicorn through the circles cut into her mask. She was wearing this pony mask of one that she had killed before. Whom's it was? Well... lets leave that a mystery.

She looked at the mare, a rag was shoved into her trougt, cutting any sound she bothered to try to make, although she still tried to scream for help.

"I still don't understand. Mister and mistress Cake wern't home, and the two little ones were with them on a trip that they had said they went on. I'd understand if they were here to be yelling for help, but nopony was around."

And it also wasn't the only thing that stopped her from letting her cries escape. She had fassened a mask on her as well, but it was completely different than the one she was wearing. How? Well, she was about to show her.

She continued to stare at the blue unicorn, when she took the rag out of her mouth. The mare huffed deeply, fear still presently worn on her face.

"Who are you?! And what do you want with me?!"

Pinkimena said nothing, but instead pulled out a voice recorder device, and clicked the button. It was silent for a few seconds, and then a voice spoke.(otherwise known as her own)

"Hello there, Trixie. Yes, I do know your name. In matter of fact, I know plenty of what you are. But there's no time for chat, we must hop to buisness!"

Almost immediately, the television that was behind her had automatically turned on, showing a obnisent figure, not at all able to tell who or what it was, leaning over Trixie. The T.V. was quiet as the recorder continued:

"As you see here, you are sound asleep when I fassened this mask on your head. What does it do? Here, let me show you."

And then the screen flickered, revealing a dummy of a pony, with the same mask on its head, and a huge timer that was ticking down numbers, and then there were three beeps before Trixie squealed from what she saw on the screen.

The mask had ripped the dummy's jaw clean off of it's face. She started to cry in fear, watching and listening at the recorder and the screen.

"I know this is tragic, but you know.

                                  LIFE IS A PARTY.

So, why not make this more fun? I'm in the mood for hangpony, if you know what I mean."

With that said, Pinkimena turned her head to watch another light come on, revealing another figure in the distance. It didn't take Trixie long to recognize who/what it was.

Snips.

He wasn't tied up at all, but instead he was being hung and was swinging, almost every limb missing, and a nail stuck out where all of his limbs were supposed to be.

A table was beside his hanging body, with all of his limbs.

"He seems so down... maybe you should ask him how it's hanging. hehehe... Anyway, lets get started! Will you put the last of your intelegence to survive?

Life or Death?

Your choice."

There was a final click that silenced the recorder and the tape poped. Pinkimena clicked the next tape in, but didn't press any buttons. Instead looked at the screen as it revealed five lines next to each other. At the top of the screen was a timer. It revealed that she only had one minute and thirty seconds to guess what the missing word was. Trixie watched in horror as Pinkimena walked over to the table, next to Snips' dead body. That's when she pulled out her recorder and pressed a button.

"Begin."

As that was said, the timer on the television beeped, making the first sound that came from that T.V. The timer's numbers started ticking as Pinkimena watched Trixie panic. She started breathing heavily as she tried to think of a letter.

"A!"

Pinkimena shook her head from side to side after she gave the incorrect answer. She picked up a leg, and hanged it on the nail in it's appropriate spot. She clicked the recorder once more.

"Try again."

Pinkimena watched Trixie as a tear started to come down her face. She then took a glance at the timer.

fifty-nine seconds remained.

"E!"

Pinkimena looked at the screen as it revealed the guessed letter in the last line, and some kind of sound was made from the T.V. once more.

"Z!"

Pinkimena clicked the tape once more.

"Wrong."

With that said, she grabbed another limb and hanged it to the emotionless body.

Trixie continued to call out her suggestions.

"P!''

"Incorrect."

Pinkimena placed another limb onto the body. It had a leg and his horn left that was not attached to the body, and only forty-one seconds to guess.

"M!"

Trixie watched the screen as the letter poped up in the second line and made that sound indicating that the letter suggested was correct. But time was running out as she saw that the timer was now at only twenty-seven seconds.

"B!"

Another limb was hanged. Twenty- two seconds left.

"Y!"

Pinkimena smiled through the mask as she put the final limb, which is the horn, up on the dead pony's head. Trixie started to cry harder as she watched the screen, huge bold letters that said;

Time's up.

Pinkimena clicked the recorder as it spoke the words.

"Times up! It seems that you have failed the task. And this is the answer."

Trixie looked at the screen in shock, disbelief, and fear as in red letters filled the missing spaces that were not submitted. She scanned it over to find the word that her life depended on if wasn't guessed.

Smile. The word was smile. Pinkimena tapped the recorder one, and final time.

"Well, well. You should have known. But it was nice knowing you, and I don't know about you, but I had fun! Remember, life is a party, and one more thing."

Trixie heard the timer on her mask start to count down, as she started to panic and scream. And the last word before her jaw was detached from her head spoke well and clear.

"Smile."

                                                       (Vicious)

Vicious watched as her jaw went flying across the room. She layed emotionless for a few more seconds, only to go along with her act. She was so proud of herself, she felt like giving herself a pat on the back, but the show wasn't over.

She still had to reveal her true identity to Pinkimena.

Thanks to her Changeling blood that coursed throughout her body, she was able to transform into this particular unicorn and her voice was also disguised as well. She was about to throw this mare off so bad, she was going to die here of laughter.

Just thinking of that makes it ironic, she couldn't die if she wanted to. Unless there was another one of her kind present. In which there hasn't been in years.

And when I say years, I mean decades. It's been a hundred years since her kind was around, and she doesn't even know what happened to them. Oh well.

Visious watched as Pinkimena moved closer, observing her face.

"Celestia dammit! She's making it hard not to kiss her! Why does she have to be so beautiful?!"

Vicious waited a few more seconds before Pinkimena turned around to walk back to the table that once held the limbs of somepony she didn't even know. But she found it rather creative of how she hanged his limbs from those...nails? She was almost sure she hanged them from the nails. Why didn't she do anything this fun yesturday?

Well, it's payback time now.

Vicious rose her jawless face, looking ahead at Pinkimena. She froze in shock as she watched who she believed as Trixie, or whatever her name was, raise her head slowly, chuckling while doing so. Man this was going to be hilarious...

"Smile, huh?" She said as she laughed phsychotically, still pulling off the voice of the one that was used the whole time. It was hard to make the sounds clear, not to mention that her lower jaw was gone, but she then broke out of the chains, watching them hit the floor as she walked to the area where her jaw landed. She was surprised that Pinkimena just froze, watching my every move. She picked it up and placed it where it was before, cracking it back into place. She moved it around, making it comfortable the way it was before. She looked around for a minute, seeing all the blood that was in the room. Trust me, there was a lot. She had no limit of the amount of blood she lost. Another thing she liked about herself. And ugh! Her disguised coat was no longer a cute light blue, but instead caked in blood. So much, it was nearly impossible to tell the original color of her coat.

Then, she felt a sudden pain in her back as she saw a knife go throught her chest, blood starting to flood the floor.

"Drop! Fall down, stupid!"

Remembering her mission, she managed to gurgle and bretend that it was some type of choking insident. Celestia why do I have to be so stupid?...

She fell down, making her attepts... realistic. She bretended to doze into space when really she was watching Pinkimena with her perivial vision.

The pink mare turned around, trying to catch on to why she didn't die from that mask. Vicious silently stood herself upright, Pinkimena not knowing, and sprouted out her still dark wings, watching them grow bigger and bigger until they had grown to the original size.

The rest of herself transformed as she lifted herself into the air, and flew closer to Pinkimena, closing her into there own little space like the night before. She had returned to herself completely, her black mane and her original coat color, but it was still coated with blood. She had that stupid mask stuck on her head, and it was fassened very tightly. Her face was burning. Well done, Pinkimena!

Vicious grabbed Pinkimena's sides and pulled her closer from behind, and felt her body heat as it rubbed against her own. She moved her head, this stupid jaw-yanking mask didn't make it easy to whisper to her, but she moved her face close to Pinkimena's ear, whispering softly.

"Hey there, sexy."

"Wa-"

Pinkimena flipped her body over, wiggling herself out of the Pegasus' grip in a rather weird way. Vicious was a little startled as well and it caused her to take a step back.

Vicious looked at the startled and confused look in the pink mares face, only to see it loosen, and turning into a normal "oh, it's just you" look.

"What are YOU doing here?! Where's Trixie?"

Wow. What a bright one. "I'm Trixie. See?"

Vicious transformed into the blue mare as before, everything identical in every way. The coat was still... messy, but it only took Pinkimena a few seconds to catch on to what happened. Her facial expression quickly turned into anger as she took a step toward Vicious, only to slip over a small puddle of blood on the floor, and magically land into the grasp of Vicious. She caught her sucessfully, and the moment was rather... romantic to her. Pinkimena started to blush, and Vicious couldn't help but smile at the adorible, lovely mare that was in her hooves.

"Wow there, might need to watch your step." She said in her normal voice, not quite fitting the new disguise that she has taken upon.

Pinkimena shoved herself out of the mares arms, so firce and strong that it caused her to fall over.

"Why...why do you keep showing up?"

Vicious giggled as she easily answered the question."I told you I'd come back."

"...But why? I don't even know you! Not your name, or anything!"

"You really wanna know?" She said, her head leaning up in interest.

"No. I want to know why you wont leave me be!"

Vicious grunted as she sat herself up, facing the pink mare with her hooves in the puddle of blood. She messed around with it and sturred her hoof in it while she talked to the mare.

"I don't know either. I don't even know who I am. Who knows- I could be an Angel, or a demon maybe! But... your the only pony I know."

"Why don't you meet other ponies? They wonder around durring the day."

"I don't come out durring the day."

Vicious watched as her face turned from confused anger to sudden interest. It then occured when she decided to interrupt her thoughts, making it all the better to understand.

"Why wont she come out durring the daytime?"

"Huh. Wish I knew..."

Pinkimena looked at her with a confused look. "I didn't say anything."

"Yeah, you did. You asked why wouldn't I come out durring the daytime."

Pinkimena froze. Her gaze remained on the blue mare, actually, the annoying brown mare with black wings that was in a disguise."You... can read my mind?"

"..."

"You were just answering my thoughts that were never even spoken. The least you could do is answer something I actually said."

Vicious rolled her eyes with a stern attitude, exhailing as she made her confession.

"Yeah. I can read your mind. So what."

"So what? Not everypony is able to do that."

"I thought we had been wwaayy past the point that we have found out that I am definately not a normal pony."

"What else can you do?" She asked, wanting to know more about this misterious mare. But she did not reply as she looked around, noticing the door out of the basement.

"You know what? I'm hungry. Do you have anything to eat?"

"Answer me, please."

"Nah. I'd rather not..."

"Please? Just.. one more thing."

Vicious looked at her for a long moment, realizing that she had to tell her something...

"I can... I can talk to you through your mind."

Pinkimena's eyes lit up with excitement."Really? Show me!"

"Woah, woah. There's a price that goes with it."

Pinkimena looked at her sarcastically. A price. "What is it, dearest Angel of Darkness?"

"Hey, it's Vicious!"

"Vicious? Are you kidding me?" Said Pinkimena tempering Vicious slowly. It's not her fault, her mother was horrible when it came to names and all the such.

"That's...unusual."

"I'm sorry, I don't have anything prissy like Pinkimena. Not to mention, it took you forever to tell me yours. So, why are you making fun of mine?"

"You don't seem like the Vicious type. Hell, you don't seem scary at all."

"Oh? Is that so? You looked pretty scared when I showed you that the pony you thought was Trixie, was really me. I mean- how could you be so clueless? I told you I was coming back. And I believe that I am the only one here that can't die, if I'm correct. I don't know, I guess where ever this place is."

"You mean Ponyville?"

"Is that where I am?"

"Uh...yeah. You've been here for how long?"

"Two days."

"Two days!? Where did you come from?"

"I...I don't know. I don't even remember being in a place like this."

"But, how-"

Suddenly, there was a noise at the door, three, unorderly knocks. Vicious looked at Pinkimena, who was pushing her into this corner, wait- is that a closet? Oh no. She's about to cram me into some storage closet.

Pinkimena shoved her into the closet, Vicious tried to tell her that she didn't want to go into the small area, but Pinkimena kept shushing her and told her to stay put.

"Vicious, stay here. Don't move, and don't speak."

"But-"

Pinkimena shut the door, but not all the way. There was a crack between the frame and the actual door, and Vicious used it to see what was going on.

Pinkimena turned off the lights, making all of the gruesome objects and projects hide away in secretive darkness. Pinkimena opened the door a tad, looking into the hall. She looked up mysteriously, and then she looked down, and her seriously frightened face expression had dropped into this look that she gave to Vicious earlier.

"Oh. It's you."

Vicious watched in confusion, seeing her bend over and pick up this figure, not being able to tell what it was due to the darkness.

She turned on the lights, making it so bright that Vicious looked away. She got use to the darkness too quickly.

"Vicous, you can come out."

With that said, Vicious transformed back into herself as she used her wings to blow down the door- literally.

She squinted her eyes to see Pinkimena turned around. She trotted a little closer to see that she had something behind her.

"I want you to meet someone."

She put this green looking thing in front of Vicious' face. "What is this?"

"It's my pet- Gummy!"

"Gummy?"

"Yes, he's an aligator. But, he has no teeth. All he has is gums."

"Uh-huh. Wow. A gator? That's pretty bad ass."

Pinkimena smiled as she set him down. That's when she heard something grumble. She looked down to notice that the little baby aligator- at least that's what it looked like- was hungry.

"Wow! Gummy sure is hungry. Is that why you interrupted me, boy?"

He didn't respond of course, but instead jumped up and bit Vicious' hoof, and just hanged there. She was startled, yes, but it tickled more than anything. She was really laughing on the inside, but on the outside, she seemed stif- she was scared that this thing was going to eat her if it didn't get food.

"Let's go get some food, before you turn Vicious into your meal."

"No kidding" She said, a tad nervous, but not frightened.

Vicious followed Pinkimena down the hallway, leading her out of the basement.
