A Granted Wish

Saying thank you may be the two hardest words that friends share. We like to see ourselves as independent and not needing anyone's help. When a friend does something for us, it is difficult to humble ourselves by thanking them. Believe it or not, as strong as your need is to believe yourself independent, your friend may have an even stronger need to hear the words "thank you". Your friend will appreciate that she is also a contributor to the friendship.

Today Rainbow may meet a pony and instantly know that they will become best friends forever, though other friendships develop over an extended period of time. In some friendships she may feel a sense of equality, while in others there may be a clear sense that one is giving more to the friendship then the other. There are no rules about how a friendship has to be. If you are able to share your life with another pony, by all means go right ahead. All friendships are unique and special in their own way. Each one is valuable.

It was a bright sunny day in Equestria. The sky was painted a bright blue and the shiny green grass glistened in the sun. The fiery ball of light was shining ever so brightly, and the cloudless sky was as blue as the sea.

Rainbow Dash woke from her slumber and got up from her untidy bed.  She stretched out her limbs and moaned when she heard her connective tissue crack. After deciding that it was time to start her morning she went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Pouring in Wonderbolt's cereal and some milk into a bowl, she sat down and began eating. After she finished eating she put the used dishes in the sink, washed them, and walked ofout the manor to start her day.

As if luck was working against her, a grey mare came plummeting into Dash out of nowhere, letters flying everywhere. “Watch it Derpy!” Dash shouted, removing Derpy off her.

The grey mare helped Dash up, and brushed her off. “Sorry I just don't know what went wrong,” she said, after she finished.

Gathering up scattered letters Rainbow found one with her name on it. “I see you were about to give me this?” Rainbow said sarcastically.

“Yup, well I'm off, see you later Rainbow Dash,” Derpy said, then took off to deliver mail to another pony's house.

“That mare needs to watch where she's going,” Rainbow said to herself. She looked at the return address on the letter. “Ponyville's orphanage,” she muttered.

Curiosity getting the better of her, she ripped open the mail and began reading the letter.

Dear Rainbow Dash,

You have been selected to grant one filly a wish in our, "A Granted Wish Program for  Orphans," at Ponyville's orphanage tomorrow. The wish is spend one day doing  activities with the filly. Once you have granted her wish you will be paid a substantial amount of bits at my assistant’s desk. I'll hope you will accept this letter, please respond as soon as you are able.

Rainbow felt horribly insulted. She's the Element of Loyalty for Celestia's sake. I have never helped a pony out just for their money. Rainbow went into her room, and grabbed a parchment and quill to write her response to the letter.

Dear Chief,

You tell that kid to get ready because I'm gonna give her the best time she will ever have. I  understand the kid's wish I mean, who doesn't want to be around my awesomeness? As for the bits, keep'em you forget who I am, and which Element I represent.

Rainbow Danger Dash

After finishing the letter, Rainbow nodded in approval, and took off to deliver the mail to the orphanage.

Waking up from slumber again Dash's mane was a mess, and she had bags under her eyes from working the late shift at the weather factory. She could still smell the sweat on her body after a her slumber, not something you want to wake up to.

She started stretching out her limbs and especially her aching back.  Hearing the connective tissue crack she let out a satisfied moan and yawn, then went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast again.

Same food, cereal and milk again. Rainbow took a shower, and went out the door to start her day. Instead of Derpy ramming into her, the letter was left out in front of her door. She must have learned from our last encounter. The letter was addressed from the same orphanage that sent her the last letter.

Wondering what was the chief's response to her letter, Rainbow quickly ripped the letter open and began reading it.

Dear Rainbow,

Sorry I forgot you're the Element of  Loyalty. I informed the filly through special communication. She jumped up and down in excitement because she was overjoyed that her idol accepted the summons.  She even gave me a list of things she want to do with you and it's a lot, but we'll only be doing three of them. I'll be waiting in front of the orphanage with her.  Please make this the best day ever for her, she been waiting for this and I would hate to let her down. Please Rainbow Dash, grant her wish.

Magic Summers

Rainbow's goal today is to make the some filly's wish come true and have a great time. Nothing will stand in her way to prevent her from achieving her goal.

“You're Rainbow Dash, nothing will stand in your way,” Rainbow said, then flew out of her manor the sun beamed upon her face. Her gaze was locked onto the cloudless sky, a shining blue that could allow her feed off of its beauty and fly forever.  As she flew  to the orphanage she said with determination, “Nothing at all.”

Life is filled with Dreams, dreams which give our life meaning and inspire us to change. Rainbow dreams about change and improvement, she set goals, seemingly impossible goals, goals which challenge her, and dream about the future. When she will reach her goals? When her life will change for the better? Without our dreams, life and society would be hopelessly dull.
