Cheesecake Bay, Equestria...
On the other side of the portal, things have gone from bad to worse. Two months after Manehattan, the GLA have launched a series of attacks on multiple nations and are setting up a naval front near Equestria's oceanic border. In the outbreak of the First World War of Equis, Many nations and empires came under heavy GLA attacks. To make matters worse, a Gorgon Assassination attempt on Princess Cadance had gone horribly wrong, the Assassin ended up paying the price. However, their invasion on Equestria was supposed to be launched after Manehattan but was delayed when learning that three ships had survived the bombings. Two Austalion warships and one American Battleship.
Having left Manehattan only three hours ago, the USS Missouri, the Commonwealth of Austalia Navy Ship (CANS) Sydniegh and Boomerang are currently the only ships protecting Equestria's shores until either Human or Austalion Reinforcements can arrive. So far, several more Austalion ships have came in and are awaiting orders from Naval Intelligence. En-route to Cheesecake Bay, Missouri topped up on fuel from a passing Austalion Support Ship and continued onward.
Standing in the bridge of the 'Big-Mo', Missouri's Commanding Officer Stuart S. Murray along with Commodore Steel Waters and Captain Shinning Armor. Backed by the Elements waiting below deck, the Austalions and their ships, Princess Luna who has been filling in for Celestia during her absence on Earth have requested them to investigate possible Gorgon activity around Cheesecake Bay or designated as Chesapeake Bay by the Humans.
"Ok, lets go through the scenario one more time." Murray repeats the battle plan to the Equines. "The Aussie ships will race ahead and sweep the bay for any surprises our freinds have left in store for us. Missouri will set up a Battlestations in the heart of the bay."
"While me and a contingent of Guards on shore will investigate the fishing town of Cape Hoof, which is home to the Reserve Fleet." Shinning concluded.
"Alright, I'll send one of my men with you, so we can communicate with each other." Murray suggested.
"Much appreciated." Shinning thanked.
"I'll head off on one of the Austalion ships and give you the all clear." Steel Waters advised.
"Agreed... Alright guys, the stage is set. Any questions?" Murray asked.
"Sir!" Missouri's Second in Command, Joe Sheridan stepped forward. "What about the girls tagging along with us? How are they involved in this?"
"Son, they may look like the Average Pony, but Twilight and her freinds play a critical role in Equestria's defense by wielding the most powerful magic there is." Murray explained.
"He's right." Steel confirmed. "The Elements of Harmony are the only ones that stand between Medusa and Equestria... Even though her magic surpasses the Elements themselves... We'll find a way to beat her."
"We will... Eventually." Murray promised.
Steel could only nod in return.
"Captain! Boomerang's Sonar is picking up five submerged contacts bearing South-West. Speed, twenty-eight knots!" Missouri's Radio Operator blared over the intercom.
"Where!" Lieutenant Sheridan ordered over he radio.
"Sir!" The Helmsman spoke up. "There, twenty degrees of the Port Bow!"
His words caught Sheridan's and Murray's attention as they approach the front of the bridge, following the direction of the Helmsman's hand out toward's the endless blue ocean. Where out of nowhere, five faint shadows could be seen underwater converging on the three ships. At first, it looked like a pod of whales, but looks can be deceiving as the shadows rapidly approached the group before disappearing... Then out of the blue...

:CUE ON MUSIC:
Multiple columns of water shot up into the air like geysers, revealing five odd looking ships made of volcanic rock, their bows hanged in the air before dropping back down into the water. The spray of water camouflaged their appearance temporarily. As it settled down, the sight was all to familiar to the Americans. Sitting in front of them were the unmistakable shapes of Japanese Heavy Cruisers, three of them were based on the Takao class, the other two were based on the Mogami class. The only noticeable difference, the same Gorgon emblem seen on the GLA Zeppelins from when they first arrived two months ago.

"Sir, what are your orders?" A now nervous Sheridan asked.
Murray never got a chance to open his mouth as the first Takao impostor opened up, her two main bow turrets facing the front were trained on the Human and Pony warships and fired without remorse. The guns blared out large green fireballs from their muzzles, arcing towards the fleet.
"INCOMING!" Shinning braced as the first salvos screamed overhead and narrowly missed the boomerang by eight meters.
"BATTLESTATIONS!" Murray bellowed as alarms began blaring as crews dropped whatever they had in their hands and rushed to their posts.
The other two Takao's opened up followed by the two Mogami's. Their salvos peppered the surroundings of the battlegroup. A salvo from a Mogami managed to get a hit on the Sydneigh, blasting a small portion of the rear superstructure of the FFG, exposing the ship's aft hangar and knocking out her Pegasai CWIS AA Gatling gun.
The Sydneigh retaliated with a volley of Anti-Ship missiles and a barrage of 5" shells from her bow turret. The 5" shells simply bounced of the thick armor of the Mogami that hit the Frigate, but soon met her fate as the missile volley impacted her midsection. A chain of explosions ripped the ship in half, resulting in two separate larger explosions that obliterated the remains, leaving no survivors.
"Scratch one less Gorgon vessel mates!" Sydneigh's C.O Beamed over the radio.
With first contact made, all that there was to do is score a victory. The Boomerang races ahead to draw some of the heat away from the injured Frigate, the Sydneigh drops her speed to let the Missouri bring all her guns to bear on the enemy formation. Her 5" guns were the first to fire, raining a hailstorm of Armor Piercing shells on the Gorgon ships, doing little damage. The Gorgons retaliated by maneuvering into full broadside, bringing all their guns to bear as well. The Takao's fired their guns again, sending a miniature meteor shower towards the Allied screen. One of the Dark Magic shell hits the Sydneigh again on her forecastle, blasting a nasty hole in her deck.
Another shell scores a hit on the Boomerang, the shells punctures her hull and into the Engine Compartment. The following detonation resulted in a chain reaction that tore her two engines apart and rupturing both of her boilers and steam turbines.
"Dammit to Tartarus! We just lost our engines! Losing boiler pressure! Were dead in the water." Boomerang's C.O spoke in disbelief as her main 4.5" guns shot back at the Gorgon cruisers.
Murray clutches his hands in anger. "Alright you bastards... My turn."
"Main Batteries, ready!" The Gunnery Officer announced over the radio.
"Light em' up!" Murray ordered.
Within an instant, Turret One unleashed it's Armor Piercing cargo at the Takao to the left, shredding her superstructure into a billion pieces with lethal accuracy, her rock like hull randomly explodes into another million pieces afterwards.
Turret Two thunders after One, tearing the second Takao's hull open like canned tuna. She capsizes and is too obliterated by random explosions.
The third trains it's guns at the battleship and fires. It's shells raining like fire makes contact with Missouri's hull, but something strange happens. instead of striking the hull, it makes contact with a kinetic barrier of sorts. This mysterious barrier is made up of a hexagon pattern, imprinted in the middle of each hexagon was the Cutie Marks of each of the Element Bearers and their primary colour decorates their designated hex.
"...Well... This is new, and odd?" Sheridan spoke in complete confusion and shock.
At the same time, Turret three fires it's shells at the last Takao. The last remaining Mogami slips back into the waves and fled the battlefield, leaving a disabled Destroyer, a Frigate peppered with holes and one unscathed battleship, thanks to it's... New found trait.
"I don't know how we got that, but somebody or 'Somepony' owes me an explanation to WHY my ship has an invisible barrier around it!" Murray blasted his fellow Officers and the Equines in particular for an answer, but something crossed his mind. "On second thought, don't bother. You all have done a good job today for our first victory. Secure General Quarters, Lieutenant Sheridan, you have the bridge. Dismissed."
"Aye, Sir. I have the bridge." Sheridan saluted as Murray walked out of the bridge.
Relieved of his sudden outburst, he starts his way towards the ward room where the Elements were stationed on the Missouri.
Author's Note
Hey guys, sorry this took me this long to put together. Just started yr 12 and was unable to focus due to all the bushfires that have broken out all around NSW since last week, mainly concerned about the big one in the Blue Mountains near Lithgow. The bushfires have been a real hardship for us, all ready more than one hundred thousand hectares of bushland was lost. Several hundred homes destroyed, leaving around eight hundred homeless and one person has already died trying to protect his home. For those who are concerned, I'm ok. I live in Sydney but out of harms way of the fires.
Anyways, I hoped you enjoyed the first battle chapter of the story. Many regards and blessings go out to those affected by the fires and have lost so much, god bless them.
"I'll see you on the Naval Battlefield!"
Missouri, out!
