All I wanted was some peace and quiet.

Upon finishing the best breakfast I had ever had, I decided to go ahead and see what I could do around the farm to help, so as to pay for my room in a way of course.

"Okay AJ, can I call you AJ, where would you like me to do some work?" I said this quite happily, something about finding out I could become stronger than the average Hulk via magic just kinda makes you happy.

AJ seemed a bit surprised by my willingness to work, must have been my previous freeloading that made her think I was lazy, I'm not I just had no idea what was going on was all... Okay I'm a little lazy. " Yah you can call me AJ. Well ya could lift the buckets of apples and bring um to the cart."

"Sounds great, when would you like to start?" Okay, something was off, I am never this cheery, even if I am in a world filled with brightly colored horses and have super awesome new magic abilities.

"That would be me, thanks to the newly entered magic in your system your body is optimizing itself, basically we will be smarter,faster,stronger and have much better vision." At this news, I was really surprised. How long would this take? I dunno, but can't you feel it just a little? I certainly can tell the difference." But "I" is "we"...ugh whatever, I'm getting upgrades yay!

Applejack was repeatedly face-hoofing...I need to stop spacing off. "I'm sorry Applejack, where do you need me to go?'

"Just leave through the front door and turn to yer left, you should see Big mac out there, collect his baskets and bring them to the apple hauling cart."

With that I made my way to Big mac, it was a relatively short walk. "Hey, you done with these baskets?"

"Eeyup." Such elegant speech this pony had, it brought a tear to my eyes thinking of just how majestic his reply was.

"Okay, well I'm Chris and Applejack has asked me to help around the farm in order to aid in my payment towards you all for letting me stay here."

"That's nice." I liked this pony. I bent down and tried to lift the basket, I could not...that is just sad. "Might I be of assistance perhaps?"...I forgot about that. Now to figure out how to use yo... "I CAN LIFT THE WORLD!" Big mac was now staring at me as I stacked two baskets on each other then did so again with another two, then lifted the four baskets, two in each hand.

I tried to walk forward, but like before it ended up faster than my sprint while not using magic, this ended up with me getting to the cart and back in less than a minute, I was surprised I had not tripped, I guess that magic improved my coordination as well then.

*About 7 hours of work later:around 1:00.:*

"FOOD!" I ran to the table, as it would turn out magic made me burn through food faster, it did not however use any of my reserve energy. I can only assume it does this to help not consume all of my magic at once. By the time I was done thinking this I had already inhaled two apple pies, 3 apple tarts, and a single apple. I could go for a smoothie right about now.

All the apple family was staring at me in awe, obviously they had never seen any being eat like this...except maybe pinkie pie, I saw what that mare did at the party, how on earth she is anywhere near as fit as she is, I have no idea. Applejack began to pick her jaw up from the ground to talk. "Uhm Chris, care to share at all?"

With the apple still clutched in my teeth, I nodded to her and stepped away from the table, they must think I am some kind of glutton, I was afraid to explain to them about my newly found magic... a thought that should have come to me a lot earlier finally came to me.

"Excuse me, Applejack, would you mind if I went to see twilight...and if you helped me find where she lives.?" I looked at her pleadingly.

"Ugh, sure, Big mac can ya get the rest of the work done?"

Big mac the expressive then said with the grace of a ballerina. "Eeyup."

"So, Chris what's it like where ya come from?" She was probably trying to start up a conversation for the walk ahead.

"Well, I lived with my foster parents in some woods, I'm an orphan. I went to a pretty okay-ish high school, most of the people there were jerks though, I have to admit everypony here is so much nicer here than the beings from where I come from."

"Huh, she sure does seem to like orphans." She said this under her breath but I heard it pretty well, guess I made a pretty good friend at that party.

"Might I ask who it is that I made such good friends with last night?"

"Err...you'll find out eventually ah'm sure.

I had no idea what it was that she meant, but I saw the quaint little town now so, that's nice. She guided me towards a large tree house looking area. "Uh AJ, she lives in a tree?"

"Yeah, ah don't get it either. It's also the towns library."

"Huh that's cool, so what are you going to go do?"

"Ah'm gonna go grab some things for the house, meet ya back here in about two hours?" I nodded my head in reply. "Well alrighty then, I'll see you then."

At that I walked into Twilights house.
