The taxi came to a stop in front of the hotel. McSpy limped back to his room in pain. When he opened the door he noticed that Gadget was typing furiously on his computer.

“What are you doing?” McSpy grunted in pain, trying to stop the blood from the cut on his side.

“I’m trying to figure out how long I can take over the security cameras in the museum.” He replied without taking his eyes off the screen.

“What?”

“That’s where the Alicorn amulet is; we need to secure the artifact before they do.”

“You really do come prepared, don’t you?” McSpy gave a small smile and chuckled.

“Aaaand got it.” He stopped and turned around, “All cameras are hacked long enough for us to grab the amulet and get out. We also need to wait until dark.”

“Alright then.” McSpy finished dressing his wound and got up, but flinched in pain.

“You sure you can do this?”

“I have handled much worse, trust me.”

McSpy waited until night fell, and then left to the museum. He arrived at the front doors.

“We ready?” McSpy asked into the mic.

“Operation: Alicorn is ago.” Gadget replied.

“Operation: Alicorn? Not too shabby.” McSpy said and took out his spy watch. A mini saw blade emerged out of the watch. He made a clean circular cut through the glass and went onwards into the museum.

The building was empty, dark, and quiet. McSpy saw that all ways were blocked by bars.

“Any ideas?” McSpy asked suddenly.

“There’s a vent above you, to the right, just follow it and you’ll be in the amulets room in no time.”

McSpy did just as he said. He crawled in the cold, cramped vent and found himself right above the amulets room. He grabbed a package of super stick bubble gum. He chewed four pieces, one piece at a time, he stuck each of them onto the bottom of his hooves. Crawling out of the vent he started to walk on the walls. Before he continued, he sprayed a mist that revealed the location of the security beams. He continued to walk to the ceiling, and then stopped right over the Alicorn Amulet. McSpy took out a grappling hook from his pocket. He chewed another piece of gum and stuck it on the bottom of the device, then shot the grapple at the ceiling and stuck the device on his back. He lowered himself to the amulet by controlling the grappling hook with his watch. The closer he got to the amulets pedestal; more sweat began to trickle down his face and neck. He made an incision in the glass case. He reached in attempted to grab the amulet, but the amulet shattered into dust.

“What in the name of Celestia!” McSpy cursed quietly in irritation.

All of the sudden the alarms started blaring and the lights flashed red.

“Great, another thing just made to make my day more interesting.” Mcspy said to himself sarcastically.

McSpy escaped before royal guards came flooding into the room and arrived back inside the hotel room, breathing heavily. Sweat rolled down his angry filled face.

“How could this happen?!” McSpy yelled angrily, slamming his hoof on the night stand.

“They must have gotten to it first.” Gadget whispered to himself, shame was in his voice.

McSpy sat on the bed and hung his head low. A tear came to his eyes and he sniffed. He shook his head sadly. A sad expression fell upon Gadget’s face to see McSpy so upset, but then Gadget lifted his head quickly.

“Sir, this mission isn’t over yet.” Gadget said with the upmost confidence as he picked up McSpy off of his rump.

“What do you mean?” McSpy wiped some tears from his face.

“I think I know where both the Princess and the Amulet may be.”

Gadget rushed to his computers and started typing in files.

“While you were at the museum, I searched through that vocal recording; it sounded as if one of them left the secret hallway from the same slot machine, so I tracked him, from security traffic cams, and his trail lead to an old abandoned factory.” Gadget said.

McSpy nodded, as his face slowly went from sad and upset to a stern with a serious look in his eye. He then started out the door.

“Wait, where are you going?” Gadget stopped him.

“I’m going to stop this mad-stallion. Where else?” McSpy said.

“Shouldn’t we wait for back up? Or call HQ?” Gadget stuttered.

“No, it might put them at risk. At least if I go alone and find out what’s happening, everyone else can prepare for the worst. And the agency can find a way to take him down if I fail.”

Gadget nodded, understanding his lust for revenge, “My dad once told me that if a pony gets the better of you, it’s not that you’re too slow, but it’s because that pony is just one step ahead.” He paused. “Be careful out there okay. I’ll hang back here and provide you with technical support.”
