Loki - Origin of Deception

“Julia is mare of my life.” started Romeo his storytelling. “I met her on celebration one year ago, we started to date and shortly fall in love and once I even sneaked inside her room and we made love all night long. Unofrtunately her parents don´t like me, because I am from average family, while she is from ritch one.”

White unicorn looked at Loki, if he still listening.

“So I studied really hard to prove my worth to Julia´s parents and thanks to my “magic of puppets” I became Queen Chrysalis´s personal student. But that still is not enough and even worse – Julia´s parents forbade her to meet with me, se we have to send to each other letters.”

“Wow, you really have hard times, but I am sure that everything will end up good.” Said Loki encouragingly.

“I hope, so let´s have a look on this letter.” Romeo opened it and started reading.

“Oh no…this isn´t good. This is more like nightmare!” gasped.

“What happened?”

Romeo took a deep breath and looked straight on Loki.

“Julia is getting married with local doctor. In three days.” Sad unicorn dropped a tear.

“Hey!” said Loki and grabbed his head. “You helped me with those bullies, so now is my time to help you!”

In Romeo´s eyes was hope. “You will?”

“Sure thing and I know how.”

“Tell me.”

“Well, it is dangerous but there is no better chance. I will make potion that fakes death. Nopony will be able to find out, BUT you have to give her antidote before her lips turn blue or she will die.”

“I can´t take that risk.”

“Oh come on! Do you want her to live with some old man instead with her love?”

“No…”

“Then don´t worry, we will just wait until the “funeral” ends and then you both can live happy life without problems.”

“You are right Loki, I just can´t live without her. You are the best friend! I have to go tell her!” said Romeo and tried to rush away, but Loki stopped him with his grey magic.

“Don´t be crazy” Do you know what would happen if her parents saw you? They would think that you are murderer.”

“So what should I do?”

“Write her a letter, so she knows that we have a plan, until then I will make the potion.”

“Ok, so see you here at tomorrow morning.”

“OK, I got the potion. Fuu, it took me almost whole night.” said Loki with visible fatigue on his face.

“Thank you, here is that letter, I wrote poem too, so Julia know that it´s from me.”

“Fine, I´ll go take some sleep and in the evening I´ll take it to her along with potion. Good thing is that I am much darker then you, so I will not be so much visible at night.”

Romeo smiled and Loki walked away.

“I amost forgot!” remebered something grey unicorn. “Take this dagger Romeo.” Said and gave him his silver weapon with carved snakes. “I want you to have it for good luck when you´ll escape with Julia.”

“That is not ne…”

“Just take it.” said Loki with smile and walked away.

So what now?

Young colt was standing in the garden near the house, that Romeo told him, where Julia lived. After a while of thinking Loki eventualy picked up a small rock and throwed it into a window. Thanks Chrysalis for Romeo who described the house to him.

“Who is there?” asked quiet female voice.

“My name is Loki, I am Romeo´s friend and I have a letter for you.”

“Finally, I was worried that he forget. Come up here.”

Grey unicorn teleported on the balcony and Julia closed door behind him. She was just as beatiful as white unicorn told him. Julia was unicorn too, with golden mane with silver streams and turquoise fur.

“Quickly! What did Romeo said?”

“Well he looked kinda depressed but then he calmed down and told me to bring you this letter. Also Romeo said that he´ll do everything else, but I really don´t know what he meant.”

Loki gave her the letter and she opened it.

“No! That can´t be true! That just can´t be true!” Julia cried.

“What? What is in that letter?”

Girl didn´t answer him, so he read it. In the letter standed that Romeo is dead in time they read it. Suicide.

“Maybe it´not true. Maybe somepony else written it.”

“It is his handwritting and the poem is his too.”

Few minutes they sitted in quiet, except Julia´s cry, but then suddenly girl grabbed Loki by the shoulders.

“Loki I know that it´s much to ask but you have to help me! I have to follow Romeo!”

“What do you mean?”

“I heard that you are from the Everdark forest, so you have to know a lot about herbs…and poisons.”

Grey unicorn looked straight to her eyes.

“You can´t be serious!”

Julia didn´t answer.

“I can´t just simply give you a poison!”

“Please…I can´t live without him.”

Loki gave up. His horn shined with grey magic and between two ponies appeared small bottle of thick liquid.

“I really hope that you will reconsider it.” Said Loki and teleported home. He lived in a hotel, thankfuly the owner was really generous and let him stay there one month for free as a welcome gift.

Now it was really useful, because colt needed to rethink what happened. He felt like murderer but his sense told him opposite.

I should get some sleep, the funeral will be around luchtime. I don´t need to go there, I know exactly what will happen.

Next day. Evening.

Loki was in his room and read Equestria Daily newspaper.

“Hmm, kidnapped ponies, no. Giant rainbow, no. Oh, here it is! Young unicorn commited suicide when he discovered that his girlfriend died.”

Grey unicorn took a deep breath.

She will come any minute.

After a while somepony knocked on his door. It was Queen Chrysalis and seemed to be quite happy.

“Hi Loki, how is life in Changliville?”

“Good evening my queen. Everything is going very well.”

“I see. I think that this thing is your.” She gave him silver dagger with carved snakes.

“Yes it is! I lost it somewhere, thank you for finding it.”

Chrysalis still smiled.

“You don´t have to lie right now. My personal student Romeo killed himself with this weapon.”

“Too bad for him.” Answered Loki also with smile. Thay both knew what is happening.

“Tell me how did you do that.”

So grey unicorn started telling her his overall plan but queen interrupted him.

“Explain me that letter.”

“That was the most difficult part. Of course Romeo wrote something completely different, but I had whole day on studing his handwritting so at the end I was able to write the letter myself so it looked like Romeo´s. “

Loki continued but Chrysalis interrupted him again.

“What was that poison you gave Julia?”

“Mercury. To be exact (CH3)2Hg. Lethal dose is low and your lips turn blue after death.”

Loki finished his story telling.

Chrysalis scratched him on head.

“Congratulations you are my new personal student. You prooved your talent and also that you are more inteligent then Romeo. But you still aren´t my “faithful” student.”

“What do I have to do?”
