EPILOGUE OVER TWO YEARS AFTER!!!

***TWO YEARS LATER***

"Hey dweeb, learn to fly yet?" Silver spoon questioned in front of the class. Scootaloo was out of primary school now and attending the recently built Ponyville Highschol. It was a nice change from having the same old teacher everyday, not bashing Cherilee or anything like that, but having variation was nice. Unfortunately, right after lunch Scootaloo had the misfortune of sharing a class with Silver spoon, Economics to be specific, one of the required classes, and right after she had one with Diamond Tiara.

"I haven't, have you learned to be a decent pony yet?" Scootaloo struck back, the lash obviously having an effect on her given the sudden frown.

Unfortunately, right at that moment their teacher, Mr. Lining walked into the room. "Knock it off Scootaloo, there will be no such talk in my classroom! Understood?"

Scootaloo scowled and replied, "Yeah yeah, whatever." Scoots turned her head to the side and noticed a look on Silver's face that said 'I win, Bitch."

"Apologize to Ms. Silver Spoon."

Scootaloo redirected her eyes to the teacher angrily and said "No way in hell! She started it, there's no way I'm apologizing to that thing!"

"SCOOTALOO!" The teacher looked very angry, but it didn't intimidate her at all.

Silver Spoon spoke up now, "How could you say such a thing Scootaloo! I never did anything to harm you, and if I did I'm sooooooooo sorry!" Silver had practice at being a manipulative, horrible pony, and had gotten very good at it over the years.

"Scootaloo remove yourself from my class THIS INSTANT!"

"Gladly." Scootaloo refused to lose her pride over this, and proudly grabbed her bag and walked to the door.

"Why don't you visit the Principal while you're at it, and tell her I'll be their shortly to discuss your wrongdoings."

"Will do!" Scootaloo jolted out the door, pissed off at the teacher and the bitch that started all of this, Silver Spoon.

As she walked through the tiled halls to the principals office, she just wished the day was over.

I wonder what mom is doing Scootaloo thought to herself, when she thought the word 'mom' she meant Rainbow in particular, Twilight was up in Canterlot on official business with the Princess.

Finally, Scootaloo reached the purple colored door that signified she reached the principals office, knocked twice, opened the door and walked in.

"Hey, anybody in here? Got sent by Mr... Whats going on?" Scootaloo had wondered why the door was closed, and the reason became somewhat apparent when she realized she had interupted a conversation between the principal, Mrs. Lightwing, and two royal guards.

"Why what a fortunate coincidence Scootaloo, these two are here to see you."

"Wha-"

"You are miss Scootaloo then?" Scootaloo was worried. What does the royal guard want from me!? Have I done something wrong? CRAP! Did they find out about the shop I wrecked with my scooter?

"yes" Scootaloo unwillingly got smaller in posture and voice.

"Do not worry miss, you are not in trouble. We have orders to bring you to the Royal Canterlot Hospital, Mrs. Dash and Mrs. Sparkle are already there. Please come with us."

Now Scootaloo was even more worried, but for a different reason. Why would she need to go to a hospital? ESPECIALLY one in Canterlot, and what were her parents doing there?

Despite her questions, Scootaloo found herself unable to speak and instead just nodded and followed them outside to the chariot they had waiting.

***

The Chariot came to a swift but controlled landing right outside of the Canterlot hospital an hour later. Scootaloo said her thanks to the guards who nodded and took off towards the castle.

Scootaloo made her way in through the glass front doors of the hospital and proceded to the front desk.

"May I help you miss?" The secretary greeted her with a smile. The mare certainly looked the part, with a gray, boring coat and glasses in front of her eyes.

"Yeah, I was brought here by the Royal guard, my name is Scootaloo."

The smile faded on the secretaries face as she responded,"Ah yes, miss Scootaloo, please follow me, Mrs. Dash is waiting for you."

What's wrong? Why didn't she say Twilight too? Is she hurt? Oh gosh I hope she's okay!

The two mares walked through the halls and up two flights of stairs, eventually coming to a room labeled ICU 4

ICU?!?! What happened?

Just as the mares approached the blue door blocking entrance to the room, it opened on it's own and, to the surprise of both the Secretary and Scotaloo, The solar diarch walked out of the room.

"I apologize your majesty! I did not know you were here!" The grey mare bowed down, Scootaloo following shortly after.

"Do not be sorry my little ponies, I teleported here it was not expected for you to know of my presence. Miss Scootaloo, Your mothers are waiting for you, don't keep them waiting much longer dear." Though Celestia had a smile on her face, it was obvious she was troubled by something and a solemn undertone was visible on her face.

"Of-Of course not your majesty!" Scootaloo quickly stood up and walked passed the still bowing secretary and the Princess of the sun into the intensive care unit that harbored both her parents. The second she entered the room, the monotonous sound of medical equipment beeping filled her ears. Immediately after that, she saw her mother Rainbow Dash, sitting in a leather chair with wooden arm rests, face in her hooves and audibly sobbing.

"Mom? Whats wrong?" Dash looked up at her to respond, eyes wet with tears falling down her cheeks. There was no need for her to answer however, as Scootaloo looked at the bed to see who was on it. At first she did not recognize the mare, but after a minute she realized the one laying on the bed was her other parent, Twilight sparkle. She was so pale the lavender coat was barely recognizable.

"Mom, whats wrong with Twilight?" Instead of saying anything, Dash got up from her chair and hugged her adopted daughter fiercely. It was obvious that Dash was greatly distressed in a way Scootaloo had never seen before. She returned the hug and allowed Dash to cry on her shoulder for a little bit before she regained some of her bearing and stifled her sobs.

"I'm sorry you have too see me like this, it must hurt my reputation of awesomeness haha." Dash sprouted a small but ingenuine smile, trying her best to lighten the mood even a little bit.

"It's okay mom, I know you're awesome, but what is wrong with mother?" Over the years, Scoots found a system where she would refer to Rainbow as mom and Twilight as mother to avoid confusion.

"Scoots you remember how your mother wasn't feeling to well before she left to Canterlot?"

"Yeah it was something wrong with her magic or something right?"

"Yeah it was causing her minor pain to cast spells even as simple as telekinesis."

"So I'm guessing that got worse and she ended up here, right?" Scootaloo was partially right, but the details were much more complicated than that.

"Yes, thats generally how it went. Twilight has contracted an unknown disease or condition that the doctors have never seen before. Her magic is being corrupted and turned unusable and damaging to her body." Dash started to tear up again, and sobs came out despite her best attempts to keep them in.

"Mom whats wrong? Is it really that bad? Is she going to get better?"

"Sweetheart, your mother is dying."
