Chapters “Dear lord. Master, where could you be?” said the mysterious man. Said man was sitting on top of a tree with binoculars, scanning the forest below. He seemed to be searching for something; but what?
“Oh, hello there reader,” he said, giving a slight smirk and a taunting yet sultry tone in his voice, “Nice to see you again. It must be so tiring to go the long way around, isn’t it? Oh wait; you haven’t yet; have you?”
Wait; what is this man blathering on about. In fact;how the hell is he talking to you?
“Alright alright, let’s settle this now,” you hear a new and remarkably older voice say from behind you. You turn around to stare at the new arrival. He had the appearance of a old, wise man, who was just sitting there criss-cross-applesauce. “Geoffery, you are encouraged not to mess with the story by interacting with the reader. It’s just not good storytelling”
“Sorry,” the man, apparently Geoffrey whispered just loudly enough for you to hear the sarcasm. What the fudge was going on? You wanted a good love story between Fizzle and Garble, not some messed up metaphysical stuff.
“It’s quite alright, it just means that I will have to reset the story,” the old man said confidently, standing up.
“Wait what?!” you exclaim, “What the f- ”
“Dear lord. Master, where could you be?” said the mysterious man. Said man was sitting on top of a tree with binoculars, scanning the forest below. He seemed to be searching for something; but what? “Ah, there you are”
Said man suddenly jumped off of the tree he was sitting on and flung himself to another tree. The tree groaned under the weight and strain of a human flinging itself into it, but sprung back to it’s original position, launching him. The man started to ricochet around like a pinball from tree to tree, carrying the case he held in his hand for so long now with him. He arrived at what seemed to be the right location, and stopped. His face turned into a slight unnerving smirk.
“Oh master; if only you knew that your time was running out,” he said, a hint of doubt, “you must find a mate soon, or all will be lost” He stopped to check his fob watch. “three past eleven? Oh dear, I must hurry and report my findings,” he said with concern in his voice “ If I am late, then what kind of a butler would I be?” He jumped again and sprung off again deeper into the forest, faster than you could see.
Suddenly, a brown coated earth pony flashed into existence is sitting on the tree next to you. He looks at you and ask, “Where did the butler go?”.
“I have no idea. Who are you?” you reply.
He looks at you strangely, and said a little more glumly, “Thank you”. He punched a button on his watch, and disappeared in a blue vortex.
Wow; what the heck is going on? How in the world is this related to Garbizzle? You realise that is going to be one of those stories, but the Author points out you are wrong, and that Reader interaction will never occur again, though he does note that it quite fun

Waking Up and Reigning in your Urges (Chapter 2)
Pain. Pain was all you felt. In your bones, in your wings, and in your back. You attempt to sit up, but immediately moan in agony and laid back down. You attempt to move your wings but you stop and wince immediately. ‘Ohhhhh sooooo much painnnnn…’ you groan internally. Deciding not to move for a long while, you get your bearings. You look around. ‘Messy floor, but not around me. Messy wall, messy hoard, this is not my cave. Also apparently I have bandages.’ Taking a few more looks around, you notice a red and orange lump on the other side of the cave.
‘Garble? Why am I in Garble’s cave’ you question yourself. In fact there was so many questions, you just gave up trying to put the pieces together in your head. Your movement (and loud moan of agony) must have woken Garble (‘or he was never asleep -shut up brain’). He yawned, stretched, and got up. He walked over to where you are, and sat down.
“Hey fizzle”, he says remarkably gently, looking at your bandages, “How are you doing?”
“So much pain.” you state, somewhat trailing off at the end, “What am I doin here?”
“You fell into a trap when we were going ruin raiding,” he replies, standing up and grabbing a few gems, “You got pretty beat up. You broke your wings, so you won’t be flying for awhile, and your backs really hurt from what I could see.” ‘Well, he’s definitely not a medical expert’ you think to yourself, ‘I thought I gave him those books! And I fell into a trap?’ Suddenly the memories flooded back, and you were slightly sickened.
“Why am I here ?” you question while very very slowly trying to sit up, “Why didn't you put me back in my cave?”
“Because one, if I had left you there you would have probably bled out or something,” he explains. ‘You should have’ you retort in your head, ‘At least my pathetic existence would have ended’. It was true, you don’t really value your own life. Your parents had abandoned you at such an early age, and left you in the badlands, with only the memory of a strange creature dropping you off here. Just like everyone else, minus the strange creature. At sometime you had started to feel really depressed about it, even a couple of times taking a rather sharp gemstone and..
“Fizzle, bro? You paying attention?” you hear Garble say rather delicately. Looking up at him, you notice he has a concerned expression.
“Sorry man” you reply, “I was spacing out”
“Don’t do it again,” he says, “Anyway, basically you are here because you would have died otherwise, and that it’s my fault for getting you into this situation”
“What? It’s not your fault!” you say rather surprised and concerned.
“Yes it is, I could have sent you anywhere else, I also could have paired you up with someone better”
“What’s wrong with Spear?” you ask.
“He’s on herb all the time and he split up from you”
“That was my idea”
“It was a stupid idea” he deadpans with a slight dash of parental-style disapproval.
“Sorry…” you look down and mutter. At times like this you need a good sharp gemstone.
Garble suddenly crawled over and took your head into his hands, and forced you to look at him.
“No, don’t blame yourself for it. You didn’t know about the trap. I take full responsibility” he said committedly and softly. You understood clearly, but you were currently staring at Garble’s face. ‘Oh god he’s so sexy don’t do anything stupid don’t kiss him just say ok and something witty.’
“A-alright then. H-hey, wasn’t it a little faggy to grab my face like that” you retort. He immediately takes his hands off of your face.
“Shut up you homo,” he mutters back, handing you the gems he got, “Here, eat these. You must be hungry, you haven’t been up for about, I don’t know, 3 days?”
“What!” you all but shout at him, “3 days!?”
“Yeah, you got pretty beat up,” he says, “Anyway, you better rest and eat while I go get your stuff, you’re going to be here awhile. Also, if you tell anyone how nice I’m being right now, I’m going to be ‘nice’ to your face once you’ve healed,” he then stands up, goes out to the entrance, picks up the bag that was by the entrance, takes one look back at you, and flaps his wings, taking him towards your cave.
‘Why was he so nice you me? He’s a lot nicer to me than the other dragons, that's for sure.’ You take a look at the gems Garble brought you, and you smile. ‘Sapphires, my favorite’ you think to yourself, ‘Wait a minute…’
“HOW DOES HE KNOW THEY ARE MY FAVORITE”
Discovering personal property (Chapter 3)
‘Come on Fizz, you can do it’ you chanted to yourself as you attempted to stand. After you mastered sitting up and crawling maybe you could attempt standing up? No, apparently not. You get as far as your knees as you finally collapse onto the soft straw you were on. ‘This is absolutely pathetic. A dragon who can’t even stand up. I was right; I’m worthless’ Normally you would rectify these feelings with your trusty gemstone, or sometimes your “other” gemstone, but right now you have nothing. Not only that but you think that your wing bandages are starting to bleed. You decide to take another nap. Apparently being crushed by two boulders and having your wings broken is a very resource intensive injury to fix.
(Garble’s POV)
You finally land, and after a quick scout of the area for other dragons, you enter Fizzle’s Cave. You enter into the main cave area, and immediately run over to the hoard. Hey, you’re greedy; get over it. You start shoveling all the gems you can: you're not going to feed him on your gems. You earnt those. Finishing up with about half of the gems, you take some paper and a quill from fizzle’s desk. “He’s such a nerd,” you think out loud. “Always reading and writing and listing...” you trail off. You move over to his book pile, and shoved a bunch of those in the sack as well. ‘Wouldn’t want him to get bored’. You knew he was going to get bored though. Wing injuries this serious take at least a month to heal.
You slide on over (because walking over is not as manly) to his bed. Well, you say bed, you really mean a bunch of straw bunched together. Fizzle’s really bad at spending money, so it seems not surprising he wasn’t able to afford a mattress from one of the griffin traders. You start to poke around in the straw, trying to find anything of importance. When your long fingers reach the straw pillow, you jerk them back suddenly.
“Oww.” you whine in the most girly way possible. Looking to see what cut your fingers, you lift up the pillow (‘Should have thought of that dumbass’). Underneath were two gemstones. You picked up the smoother of the two, which was green. ‘Why does he got gemstones under his pillow?’ you ask no one in particular. Not like they could hear you in your head anyway. You examined the gemstone. ‘Ok, it’s green, it’s rounded, it’s thinner at one end, and it’s slightly, icky?’. You think about what that all meant for a second before you realized EXACTLY what that was used for.
“AH!” you yell as you drop it. It landed in the sack.
‘Oh god why does he do that? Why did I touch it?! I knew he wasn’t straight, but come on man! It’s not like thats bad or anything, it’s even a little -- woah brain, no.’ you shut your mental train of thought off for a second. ‘Why did I think that was sexy, oh god why did I think that was sexy?’. You mentally debate with yourself for a few moments, but then shake off the bad gay thoughts by concerning yourself with the other gem. You pick this one up, and you almost immediately drop it as well (because it was sticky). You realize that this was something else that was making it sticky. Looking closely at the deep-red ruby, you started to notice some of it’s characteristics. ‘Ok, it’s long, thin, and very sharp. What’s making it sticky though.’
Taking a quick lick, you instantly grimace. You know what that substance is. You’ve dealt with this substance before. It’s Fizzle’s blood. No wonder you couldn’t see it, the ruby was red. Suddenly and with shock, the ramifications of there being blood on the gem flood into your brain. ‘Oh wait if he had a gemstone under his pillow that was sharp and covered in his blood, then-’ your blood runs cold. ‘Oh shit please don’t tell me he’s been cutting’ you think worriedly, ‘I fell into that, I’m not going to let him do that too’.
You place the gem underneath everything and pick up the bag slowly. You then walked over to the entrance, and took flight.
On the way back home, you thought of the many different things. Your own struggles with self harm and your abandonment at a young age. You also started to think of what you would need to do when you get home. ‘Ok I guess I need to tiptoe around him. I should also wait to ask him about it, and whatever you do; don’t get mad.’
You land to find that fizzle is still asleep. You quietly take the two gems from his bed (wrapping the green one in some paper, of course) and hid them in your bed.
You go over to fizzle to check his temperature and other stuff like his dumb nursing book said to. As you were halfway through changing his bandages (which you were doing very gently), you hear him moan out a word. One you never wanted to hear again.
“Garble~” you hear Fizzle moan in his sleep.
‘------------’ is all you are able to think. You quickly pull yourself together, ‘He’s still asleep. Maybe he’s thinking about how grateful he is to me for saving him’. Taking a look at him after you finished changing the bandages, you instantly notice that your idea was VERY far off. You get up and scurry outside towards the lava pit, forcing yourself to look away from him. You needed a good swim badly, and hopefully you can wipe that memory from your eyes and ears. With lava.
Timelapse Part 1 (Chapter 4)

(Fizzles POV)
15 days later.
Fizzle woke up again after a frightful dream. These were quite common, and he could handle them with relative ease now. It still didn’t change how scary they were. You decided to get up and walk over to your gem pile. Picking up a juicy sapphire and a tangy ruby, you go deeper into the cave to find Garble. You were going to ask if you could finally go outside. You haven’t been allowed to leave at all, and you understood his reasons why. You’ve been ‘too hurt’, and ‘your wings are broken’. You just want to go outside to get some fresh air, not do mid-air dog-fighting.
You search the entire cave for him while munching on your gems, from the entrance to the magma pit. Not finding him anywhere you decide to do something… fun. Garble made it very clear NOT to go in his part of the cave, but Fizzle was very bored, and a little bit restless. ‘And, if he’s not here, what's the harm?’ you think.
You step in and decide to snoop around. You search around the magma pool, the center-bit, and around his ‘unusually large and ornate’ mirror. There was absolutely nothing of interest, except maybe for a book called “101 Easy Ways to Prepare Gems: for Kids!” (you absolutely had to snicker at that), and a very beat up wooden cutout of a pony.
Deciding to go to the shelf on the wall, you looked around again to check for anything odd. Your eyes coming to his bed, you see a strange lump in his pillow. Walking over hastily (Who wouldn’t if they potentially found something incriminating to tease their friend about), you sit down, cross your legs, and lift up the pillow.
Shock.
Silence.
Your eyes widened with surprise and fear.
You couldn’t believe what you were seeing.
Under his pillow were two very familiar gemstones.
The one you used for pain.
And the one you used for pleasure.
Hidden underneath Garble’s pillow.
‘How-how-how did he find them?’ you question yourself as you feel your anxiety and nervousness rising. ‘Is this why he has been treating me so nicely? Is this why he wanted to take care of me?! Does he hate me?!!’. Mentally, you were screaming, panicking, freaking out, worrying, and afraid all at the same time, and you felt like you were going to explode from all of this emotion. As you kept considering what could and has happened because of this, you felt yourself break down. You collapsed into a heap as you started to cry softly, and considered your friendship with Garble.
‘Is this w-why has he been so nice to me? Is he just doing this because he pities me? Are we even still friends?’ you think. You normally wouldn’t get worked up over this with just anybody, but you knew that Garble was special. ‘I-I’m such a loser, getting worked up over someone who will never l-l-love me back,’ you mused as you now sobbed and shook violently.
“Fizzle! I’m back!” you hear Garble call out. You didn’t care anymore, let him see you like this. He'd probably realize what a lost cause you are and kick you out. You hear Garble searching the rooms.
“FIZZLE!” Garble roars at you in surprise as he sees you in his room. You pull yourself in a tight ball and start to sob harder. He rushes over to you, and puts his hand on your shoulder. You pull away from his hand. You didn’t need his comfort. You didn’t need anyone’s comfort.
“Fizzle,” he says more calmly and caring now, “did you find them?”. You start to cry even harder.
“Why?” he questions.
why?
Why…?
Wh Y? **
WHY?!
So many memories of “why you are a horrible person who doesn’t need to exist” are brought up; you can’t even interpret them. You are a mess, Garble is staring at you with wide dumb eyes, and you just want to leave.
You stand up, and bolt towards the entrance. “FIZZLE!” you hear Garble yell at you. Tearing off the bandages on your wings, you jump off of the entrance and glide as far as you can away from him. You don’t want to see him like this and hurt him. Or, you don’t want to stay there so he doesn’t hurt you You can’t really tell what you are feeling. You hear Garble calling after you, but nothing else. You look down, and notice the desert below you. When you can fly no more, you run as far as you can. You end up in the middle of a dark forest, and you try to find shelter.
Nightfall arrives, and in the little clearing you managed to find, you ignite some logs for some warmth and protection. You don’t feel pain anymore. Your wings have gone numb, bloodied, and torn now, as well as your mind. All you know is that the only thing you feel is fear.
You fear that Garble will hate you.
Some of the trees started to sway abnormally, and you didn't like it. But you were too tired, and too emotionally drained, so you fell unconscious.
“Oh master; if only you knew that your time was running out,”
Timelapse Part 2 (Chapter 5)
You woke up in the clearing with a ‘fuckton’ of pain in your wings. You looked back, and were horrified at your wings. They were blue and blackened, and covered in blood. You needed to clean them at least to make sure they weren't infected. You stood up and walked over to the creek you had discovered while searching for a clearing, and started to bathe yourself. The cold water gave you the shock needed to wake up, and realise what you had done the night before.
You are horrified. Truly horrified. Garble had discovered your secret and treated you nicely because of it. He didn’t care. He just didn’t want someone dying because of him. ‘How long had he known? Has he known the whole time? Was his whole friendship with me just so I wouldn’t kill myself?’ you wonder. Just thinking about it made you feel more depressed than ever. You decide to continue your trek away from the Badlands.
Continuing on your way towards, well somewhere, you think about what you had done. Firstly, you have left the only place you could have called home. That’s going to go over ‘so well’ with your diseased head. Secondly, you have left everyone you had ever known (‘Now it’s time for “Let’s see Fizzle go mentally insane from Abandonment issues!”’). And third, but probably the best, you distance yourself from the one person you loved, and one of the many that hate you.
Your stomach growls loudly (scaring a phoenix that you were passing by). You quickly coo to help calm it down. Luckily, it settles, and resumes preening. You always had this way with animals that was quite surprising to their friends. But you could never hurt them, not ever, so you were always left behind while they got high off of Phoenix eggs. You pause on your journey as you go to look for some food. Deciding on some healthy-enough looking berries, you collect a whole bunch in your palm and snack on them as you continue.
You eventually come to the edge of the forest, and you notice a town in the distance. It looked like no town you had seen before. It was hard to find your way once it became dark about halfway through, but you kept running.
You were getting tired, and starting to feel dizzy as you finally reached the town. You started to go through an alleyway, and you had to lean on the wall for support. You wondered why you were so dizzy, and one look back told you everything. Your wings were cut up really bad and oozing blood. Your back had 1.., 2…, 3…., ‘too tired to count how many’ cuts on it. You now were slumping against the wall and trying to support yourself. It was getting really hard to think.
“AHHHHHHHH” you hear a scream from your left. You lazily turn your head towards the source of the scream. A purple pony and a baby dragon were staring at you in absolute horror. You just looked at them with a small dumb smile. You finally passed out and slumped over on yourself.
“Spike!” Twilight yelled, “Go get Fluttershy right now, tell her to rush to the Library.” Spike didn’t need to say anything as he bolted towards Fluttershy’s cottage. Using her magic, she levitated the dragons unconscious body as she ran towards the large tree she called home. No one noticed the man who was standing in the shadows.
“Oh dear me, what a mess you've gotten yourself into master” the man said. He stepped forwards into the light. “You always get yourself into these predicaments. Your lucky I’ve been watching you, otherwise you would have died at least three times.” The butler tugs on the glove covering his left hand. “Let’s see how this plays out,” he remarks, as he starts in the opposite direction of Twilight’s library.

The Slam, And Welcome to the Ruins (Chapter 1)
Fizzle woke up on a morning like no other. It was absolutely silent. No hustle bustle of dragons going to eat breakfast; no sound of the arguing that would occur because of breakfast, and there was infact a red-scaled dragon staring right at him.
“Fizz-fag, get up!” he roars at you. ‘Woah, what's Garble doing in my cave. Isn’t that a little gay? But, whatever. You sit up from the straw bed you made for yourself long ago.
“What do you want Garble?” you groggle out, looking at him, “Why are you in here?”.
“We’ve ---- ---------- ---- pony -----, --- were ----- to ---- --, you in?”
“Huh?” you reply in your still tired state. ‘What was he saying?’
“Pay attention Fizzle!” he yells at you, “I said we’ve just found some stupid old pony ruins, and were going to raid it, you want in?”
“Sure Garble” you say quietly. He always kind of scares you with his big voice.
“Come on, lets go!” he says, and takes off.
You get up finally and fly after him. Soaring through the air is one of your favorite activities. You love flying, and do it often. The feeling of just floating above everything was so serene. Of course you're somewhat restricted and uncomfortable this time. ‘Oh god don’t look at his butt dont look dont look do look wait what dontbeafag’. Your mind always seems to do this, this struggle to keep doing these really gay things, but you resist. After all, you don’t want Garble to find out about your… preferences, do you? ‘I’d be ridiculed, my reputation would be soiled! I would probably have to leave after that.’
You keep flying for several minutes, only looking up a couple of times to make sure that you were following Garble and nothing else . You see the spot where everyone; which happens to be in the middle of the swamps. You land right in the middle of the crowd as he went to the front (probably to do leader stuff). A couple of other dragons were already there in front of the ruins. You recognised Crackle, Spear, and Vex in the crowd.
You looked at the ruins in awe. Gigantic Pillars that rose up about 40 feet up surrounded the ruins of what was apparently an ancient pony temple. It was broken in 3 sections.
“Hey, Nerd!” you hear from the dragon next to you. He looks expectantly at you and says “Garble wants to see you”. You thanked the dragon, and proceeded to move to the front of the pack.
“What do you want?” you ask Garble.
“You're going to explore the left area” he said with confidence.
“W-with who?” you stutter out. ‘Oh no, I’m stuttering again! Dammit!’ you mentally hit yourself on the head.
“With Spear. Make sure you don’t get hurt or I’m going to have to hurt you both” he says with a hint of malice, but caring in his voice. Garble was a good leader, no matter what anyone else said. He always cares about our safety, and is actually kind of intelligent.
“A-alright then. Spear!” you call out waving your arms at the crowd. Spear emerged from the crowd.
“What dude?” he says in slightly stoned voice. Pretty much everyone was aware of deals with the griffins for “herb”.
“Garb assigned us to go and search the left wing” you inform him.
“Alright dude, let’s go”.
You both make your way past Garble (Who was assigning Crackle and Vex to go to the right), and start going to the left. You keep looking for an entrance into the left side, and finally found one half way in.
“Here Spear! I found an entrance!” you yell over excitedly. Spear walked over to the entrance (which was a big hole) and looked inside.
“It’s dark in there” he observed.
“Of course it is!” you retort. ‘How could so many dragons be so stupid?’ “If you look, there are some torches on the wall. We could light them”
“Man, you’re so smart” Spear admires in his dumb stoner voice. He then climbed into the entrance and started to light the torches. As the room was lit, you noticed it was a long hallway. You climb in after him.
“Remember what were looking for: Gems and Valuable things. Let’s split up” you inform Spear, who nods and goes to the left. You decide to go to the right. Looking around on the floors and ceilings of the hallway, you come to a medium sized room with some old papers and some writing on the walls. You go over to investigate, but you can’t read the strange scrawl. You decide to continue on for a little while longer. You find nothing of value, for awhile. On your way back to the entrance, you see a pile of gems you missed in the room with the writing. You run over to it, but halfway through the room you hear a *click* noise. You stop.
‘Huh, what was-’ is all you have time to think. And then you can only feel intense burning pain, as two large swinging boulders (which you didn’t notice) slam into your body and wings. “AHHHHHHHHhh” you scream in pure agony, as you crumple to the floor. Suddenly you feel nothing, just laying there, blood pouring out of your wings and back. You try to move, but fail. You cry out “HELP!” as loud as you can manage (which is somewhat weaker than a normal dragons), and roar. Your body is just laying there, the pool of blood now reaching to your face. ‘And this is how I die, I guess’ you think to yourself, ‘No mate, no gems, no… life’.
You start to become very sleepy, but you try to remain awake. Suddenly you see a dragon speed around the corner towards you. You can’t tell who it is.
“Fizzle?” you hear the dragon say with a slight panic, “Fizzle!”. The dragon rushes over to you, but now it’s really hard to stay awake. You look up at the dragon, who has now picked you up and was running down the corridor. ‘G-Garble?’ you think. ‘Garble came to save me’.
You find that thinking is too tiring, and you pass out.
“Dammit Fizzle!” is the last thing you hear
