Justice Chapter 19
Previous ChapterNext ChapterA/N I am really sorry about the entire month since the last update, but three weeks of that month was me in Europe without a computer. Here is chapter 19!
The sun is almost directly over us as Twilight and I finally reach the turn in this dusty road that leads to the mountains. It was only a few hours ago when Twilight confessed to me, and I’ve been thinking it over the entire time.
“What was she thinking? She knows I still love Fluttershy, or at least I used to… No! Wait… The reason I’m still fighting Discord is to save Fluttershy, right? I just don’t know anymore…”
Twilight, however, is completely oblivious to my confusion. She is trotting along happily next to me, obviously pleased with herself for finally opening up to me. I have to admit, now that she isn’t the enemy anymore, I do kind of like her as well. But that’s just it! When I first came here, Fluttershy was my only ally and it was Twilight that tried to kill me, now everything is backwards…
“Well, I’m sure Celestia still wants me dead, so I guess that’s a constant.” I think grimly to myself.
“Luna as well, so I guess that makes three god-like beings that want me dead. Joy.”
Any further morbid thoughts are interrupted by Twilight as she almost to happily asks, “What’s wrong? You look even more depressed than usual.”
I sigh and reply, “I just have a lot on my mind.”
She sobers up a bit and says, “Oh, I guess I really didn’t help with that considering what I told you just a few hours ago.”
I just nod.
“Well, I can only imagine what you’re thinking, but just remember that once we kill this dragon, Discord will be physical again, and we can kill him! Once we do that, everything will be normal again.”
I nod again, “Yeah I know. But this dragon is not going down without a fight, is it?”
She shakes her head, “No definitely not. This dragon will be by far the hardest thing to kill so far. Dragons are very different from regular creatures such as manticores or hydras. They are intelligent, and they have basic magic abilities. Not to mention they can fly, breathe fire, and have razor sharp fangs and claws. I have a feeling you’ll be needing your armor for this one.”
“Yeah, probably.”
We turn off the main path and head towards the mountains. Up ahead I see the trees and vegetation get more and more sparse as the path nears the mountains. Right before the path enters the mountains, the area is just one large rocky field. I can’t help but feel a sense of dread at the thought of going in there.
Celestia’s POV
“Were is she?” I ask nopony in particular.
The various nobles in the throne room all look away, not daring to answer.
“Luna should have been here hours ago…”
Just then a very nervous guard bursts in through the throne room doors.
“My highness, Your sister has arrived!”
“Perfect timing.” I think to myself.
“Very well, everypony, leave us.”
All the ponies quickly exit the room, and just as the last pony leaves my sister slowly trots in.
She looks haggard and annoyed at the same time, and her fur is covered in dried blood.
“Luna, why is there dried blood on your coat? I assume the human and Twilight are dead?”
She shakes her head. “Neigh, before we could kill them… Fluttershy killed us. While we were in our regenerating state, we overhead her talking with the human and Twilight. Apparently she is working with Discord now, acting as his right hand until he regains physical form.”
I narrow my eyes. “I see. At least they still don’t know the true nature of immortals. They proved that by thinking they could kill you. As you and I know, only an immortal can kill another immortal. Being the only other immortal besides us, Discord is our primary concern.”
“Indeed, we must destroy Discord as soon as possible, as well as the human and Twilight.”
I nod. “They are no threat to us, but any who oppose us must be crushed. And I have a very good idea on how to do that. If they do manage to kill the dragon, they will no doubt be wounded and weak. So we will wait for them to come down from the mountain immediately after the fight. It will be the perfect time to attack…”
Mayor Mare’s POV
It’s amazing how easily a ponies opinion can change. When everypony though Princess Luna was dead, they had rebellious hearts and were ready to fight back. Upon seeing Luna’s unexplained revival, they were panicking over their fate, all thoughts of rebellion gone. It was quite the lucky stroke for me, I was able to convince them almost too easily that their only chance at survival was redemption. Everypony knows that the human and Twilight have been a serious thorn in the side of the Royal Sisters, simply because of the rebellion they incited. So the best way to obtain redemption would be to kill them. That’s what everypony is getting ready for, gathering weapons and armor, preparing to march. Once the remaining Elements stepped in, it was all too easy.
Flashback
“The only way we can redeem ourselves is if we hunt down and kill the human and Twilight ourselves! If we do that, then just maybe the Princesses will spare us.”
The crowd looked at me in hear and apprehension, but to my relief some of them started nodding. Before I could say anything else, the crowd parted and in the middle of them stood Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. Rainbow stepped forward first and spoke.
“I don’t really care what happens to this town, but I’m not sticking my neck out for Twilight since she betrayed us. I say we kill them.”
Pinkie steps forward.
“The human laughed at me. Nopony laughs at me! I’m going to kill him, whether you ponies are going to help me or not!”
Applejack finally steps forward. “I don’t think we should kill them, cause if we don’t Celestia will burn down the town, including my apple farm, and that would be great.”
Silence.
Rainbow steps forward again and says, “She’s the liar remember? Whatever she says, she means the opposite.”
Murmurs of understanding waft from the crowd.
I raise my voice and say, “See?!? Even the Elements of Harmony agree with me. The only way to save ourselves is to kill Twilight and the human! Now everypony, we all know that they are going to kill the dragon, right?”
The crowd murmurs a yes.
“If they manage to kill the dragon, they will be tired and weak! We will wait for them in the open field at the base of the mountains after they kill the dragon. It will be the perfect time to attack!”
End Flashback
Discord’s POV
Celestia and Luna are going to do exactly what I expected them to do. It’s so funny, hovering over them invisibly, and they don’t even know I’m here! They are going to try and kill Twilight and the human Ty, but they didn’t take into account the fact that I will be there as well. As soon as Ty kills the dragon, I will once again be physical, instead of this boring ethereal form. Once I’m physical again, I’ll kill Fluttershy, simply because I won’t need her anymore. When they ambush Ty and Twilight, I will wait until Ty and Twilight are dead, and then finish off Celestia and Luna after they are weak from fighting Ty! Twilight and Ty have no chance of winning against the Royal Sisters, simply because it is impossible for a mortal to kill an immortal. And that’s the funniest thing! The human Ty is so idealistic and naïve to the point that he thinks he can kill me once my last guardian is dead! All this time his goal has been to kill me, so he can put this world back in order, but in reality it is physically impossible! It’s just too good!
I’ll be waiting, invisible, at the open field before the mountains, and when Celestia and Luna are weak from fighting Ty and Twilight, I’ll strike. It will be the perfect time to attack…
Fluttershy’s POV
“So Ponyville is going to try and kill Twilight and Ty? That’s just too perfect.” I think smugly to myself while watching the crowd far below me. I was hovering over Ponyville on my cotton candy cloud when I overheard the townsfolk crying over their fates. They’re going to attack Ty and Twilight after they kill the dragon when they are weak. A great plan, to bad I didn’t think of it first. No matter. When they try and kill Twilight and Ty, no matter how wounded he is, Ty is sure to try and protect Twilight. But when he has his back turned to Twilight, thinking he is protecting her, I’ll be there. I will kill Twilight while Ty is busy. When Ty and Twilight are weak, and Ty is busy fighting against the army from Ponyville, that is when I will kill Twilight. It’s the perfect time to attack…
Ty’s POV
Twilight and I are walking across the large rocky field before the mountain when I feel it. A deep cold that chills me to the bone. I stagger, and Twilight looks behind her at me.
Twilight gallops back to me and asks, “Are you okay? What happened?”
I don’t respond for a minute, instead I focus on catching my breath. A few seconds later I nod to Twilight, showing her I’m okay.
I say, “I’m alright, I just felt a really deep chill.”
She asks, “Is that something that happens often to humans?”
I reply, “No, not at all…”
Sensing my discomfort, she asks, “Does it mean anything?”
I sigh, “Well, it hasn’t been proven, but a lot of people say that when a person feels a deep, unexplainable chill, it means they are at the spot where they will die…”
Silence.
Finally, she speaks, “But that’s just a myth right?”
“Uh, yeah… just a myth. I’m sure nothings going to happen…”
Twilight nods and says, “Yeah, of course! I don‘t believe in anything I can‘t prove.”
It sounds like she is trying to convince herself more than me.
“At any rate, we’re almost to the base of the mountain, lets go!”
I nod, and we start walking again.
A/N If you couldn’t tell, some serious shit is going to go down in the next chapter. The Royal Sisters, Discord, Fluttershy, and a makeshift army from Ponyville will all be converging on Ty after he fights the dragon. Will he survive? Anyway, the next chapter WILL BE THE LAST ONE! Sort of. After the last chapter I will have a small epilogue. Also, the last chapter will be massive, I’m expecting around 10k words. So please, give me any feedback now before I write the last chapter. I am open for suggestions, but if you have a story suggestion, message it to me rather than write in a comment or review, to avoid spoiling it for others if I do decide to use your suggestion. I do have a very definitive idea of what’s going to happen next, but if your suggestion is really good, I may use it. If you have any questions about anything, just ask! See you all at the last chapter!
