The mane 10!
Chapter 3: Twilight gives him a chance
Previous ChapterNext ChapterLater on that afternoon when the mane 6 went out for lunch, Fluttershy told them about the mysterious and wonderful stallion that she tended to. After she explained her encounter with him, Twilight huffed and told them about her morning with the pig known as Artie. After she had gotten to the part where Artie commented on Princess Celestia's flank, Rainbow Dash hit the floor laughing. She was tucking in her sides and groaning from laughing.
"It's not funny Rainbow Dash!" Twilight exclaimed. Rainbow Dash finally got it together and stood up.
"Sorry Twi, it was just so funny that someone is that rude to comment on the Princess like that! What did you do to him after though?"
"I threw him out like any other sane person would. I hope I never see that pig ever again!" Twilight sighed.
"Well lookie here Twi, you cant be so hard on 'im, just think, he came all the way from Canterlot just to see you. That sure is some commitment if nothin' else Twilight." Applejack said with a helpful look in her eyes.
"You should give him that Twilight." Pinkie said while eating a slice of cake.
"I guess you guys are right." Twilight said.
"You should go talk to him and let him know you don't want to rip his head off anymore." Rainbow Dash said.
"I don't even know where he is." Twilight sighed.
"He's at the train station getting ready to leave back to Canterlot." Pinkie Pie said. They all looked at her in astonishment.
"What? I know everyone in Ponyville remember, even if they just came here." Twilight left to go clear the air with the Earth stallion.
She caught him at the last moment before he got on the train.
"STOP." she yelled before accidentally ramming herself into him.
"Ow, now I know how it feels to be ram- never mind." he said.
"I just wanted to let you know that I'm not mad at you any more. What you did in your past only makes you a better and wiser person."
"Oh...really? So do you want to go on that date now?"
"No, never, you still said that to the Princess."
"Oh. Please?
"No."
"Pleease?"
"No."
"Pretty please?"
"Nooo."
"Pretty, pretty please?"
"NONONO!" It was quiet for a few moments before Artie decided to try his luck again and ask.
"Please?" She sighed and said,
"You wont stop until I say yes will you?"
"No."
"Even if I magically turned you into a frog?"
"Nope, you'd just hear a lot of croaks."
Twilight yelled a tired yell and finally succumbed to him.
" Okay fine, one lousy date, but if I don't like it, you'd better leave me be okay?"
"Okay! Deal! Pick you up at eight?"
"No, seven."
"Okay see you soon!" And he dashed off.
It was no later than six fifty when she was officially ready to go. She had on dark purple eyeliner and a black, and glittery dress she bought from Rarity.
"He better not be late." She muttered to herself. She gave Spike the day off so he wouldn't see her like this. She knew he was bound to ask questions and tease her and she frankly, knew she was gonna hate the embarrassment. He came five minutes earlier in a suave black tux with a red bow tie.
"Shall we?" He asked while holding out his forehoof for her to wrap hers around. She was astonished that a bum could look so wonderful in a tux. She stammered a bit before he told her she looked nice. She decided to stay quiet and follow him into the carriage.
They ended up at a poetry club and they took their seats in the far back.
"You come here?" Twilight asked.
"No, I'm from Canterlot remember? There's a club like this there and I do my poetry there, I just knew there was one here because the owner owns the one here as well."
"That's interesting." Twilight said. A few minutes the pony up front was done saying her speech about Earth Ponies needing to be heard, but frankly, Twilight was listening to her because she was stuck staring at Artie. She didn't notice them call his name up until he stood up to go.
"Guess it's my time to shine." He murmured. He went to the front of the stage confident. Twilight blushed when he looked at her and blinked.
"This poem is dedicated to a very beautiful alicorn, and this poem is called A Ponies Beauty:
A ponies beauty is patient and kind
It feeds your heart, soul and mind
It brings you joy and happiness within
Knowing that she will be with you
Through thick and thin.
A ponies beauty can be recaptured
Only if the partners heart has not been
Fractured.
A ponies beauty has no mistakes
It plays no one not even games.
A ponies beauty is slow and kind
Easy to learn but hard to find.
A ponies beauty.
Everyone was quiet at first until Artie said I'm done. Then everyone in the crowd starting capping harder and harder, astonished that he could make a poem so wonderful. He soon had gotten a standing novation, but he ignored them all and sat back down with Twilight. She had tears welling up and the rest of the night ended smoothly with everyone else doing great on the platform. It was ten o clock when Twilight went home and she was in bliss. She kissed Artie on the cheek and let him know they were going to meet tomorrow for brunch. She came in with Spike asking where had she been and why was she dressed like that.
"Rarity had a banquet and I was a guest of honor." Twilight said. Spike, satisfied with his answer but sad that Rarity didn't invite him, scuttled off to sleep. Twilight on the other hand, lied awake in her bed, happy that she actually gave the pig, no, the stallion a second chance.
