Smart
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI wrote on a paper. I didn't really know to write but that was okay because I was going to remember this time. I drew a picture of a tree and a book.
I went outside and looked at my paper over and over.
I saw the tree. It wasn't on paper like it was the last two times. I knocked on the door and waited.
I forgot what I was doing at this tree.
"Hello?" An adult purple unicorn asked me a question.
"Hello." I copied what she said because I couldn't think of anything to say.
"Are you book?"
"Excuse me?"
"I drew a picture. I don't remember what it's for."
I gave her my drawing.
"You came for a book?" She asked me about books. I don't know how to read.
"I think so."
"You mean, you don't know?" She was kinda upset.
"I don't... how... ung." I gave up talking. The ground was dirt, not carpet this time.
"Come on inside, then." She was talking again.
"Huh?"
"You needed a book?"
"I think."
I walked inside and I saw a lot of books. There were so many colors. I don't have books.
"I remember!" I remembered what I came for! I promised myself.
"Come again?" She said something I didn't understand.
"Oh... I remember," I stared at the big purple pony.
"I'm been being a bad mommy. I don't know how to remember or write and I put a mop on the table today."
"That's not all that bad, everypony makes mistakes..." She said nice things to me.
"My baby is hungry and I spent all our money on pencils." I cried a little.
She hugged me and treated me like I treated my baby muffin.
"I need to learn how to be smart. You're smart. I don't want my baby to take care of her mommy." I cried a little more and the books started to become not-squares and turned into waters.
Adult pony showed me a little cup with a top on it.
"What's that?"
"Well... hm... to put it simply, a magicly enchan--" She stopped talking. She knew I was dumb. "It's a pill that can... make you, remember better and... uhm, pay attention." She said it really slowly. I like it when ponies talk slow for me.
"Can I have them? I want my baby to have a good mommy, not a stupid mommy."
"They can be very bad for you if you... take too many of them. Very bad."
"If I take them do I get smart?" I wanted to be a good mom.
"Well... sure, I guess."
"Can I give pencils to you? I don't have money anymore. I made it into pencils instead of food." I told her about my money.
"No, no, it's alright. You can have them. I haven't needed to use them in months."
"Smart ponies do stupid things too?"
"Something like that."
I grabbed the little cup in my hooves and tried to chew it.
"No, you open it like this." She did something with her hooves that I couldn't remember unless I tooked the smart pill.
She gave me a little button and told me to put it on my tongue.
"Now swallow it and don't chew."
I did.
