On the outskirts of Ponyville, we find a gathering of ponies from far and wide. They consisted of Shining Armor’s friends, Co-Workers, and family. They are all weeping from the passing of some pony that they all cared for and loved.

“…And we all hope and pray that our dear Shining Armor has a peaceful and meaningful rest. Twilight is there anything you or anyone would like to say as your final words to your beloved brother?” asked Princess Luna.

Twilight, who has been crying her heart out, looks up at the princess and nods her head slowly. She walks up and stands, looking at the crowd of people that all cared for her brother. She begins crying for she sees how many lives her brother has touched personally. Everyone sees this and tries to smile in order to show Twilight that it is alright to cry for they all miss him, but not as much as she will.

“My brother is a stallion of honor, loyalty, and safety. He gave his very life in order to keep us safe. I know that he is now under the watchful eye of the queen and shall be treated with kindness so great that he will want all of us to be grateful for him and to move on with happiness for his life. I know that I will never get him back but I wish him the best of luck and I hope he is in the place that was in his dreams that he told me about as a kid. I will forever miss you my Big Brother, Best Friend Forever.”

Later, Twilight is home with her friends and Spike. They are all hanging together for they know how terrible this is and that Twilight is going to need all the support that she can until this stage of her being is complete. How long it will take, no pony knows. But they all know that no matter how long it takes, they will stand by Twilight until the very end.

“Twi, I know exactly what you are going through, for I went through the same thing with both of my parents. I want you to know that I will stand by your side and that you can talk to me whenever you want,” Applejack said with assurance.

“Thanks AJ. It’s just so hard. I feel so alone and I hate the world for taking my brother away from me. I wish that he would be knocking on the front door with a big smile and ice cream like he always does whenever he visits. I am going to miss him so much and I do not know if I will ever be truly happy again.” Twilight says through her tears and trouble breathing.

The girls separate for it is getting late and they all have to get home. Spike and Twilight are left alone in the library with nothing to do or say, just cry and hold each other. They continue crying for another hour or so when Twilight stands and starts walking out the door. Spike knows what’s happening and follows. They walk. They continue walking until they come to the cemetery. They continue onward to Shining Armor’s tombstone.

Spike grabs Twilight’s hoof and begins crying. She notices and tries staying sturdy for her younger friend. Her securing walls fail and she begins crying as well. Picking spike up and hugging him as tight as she can, she cries and wishes for her brother back. They look up into each other’s eyes and can see the sadness within the others heart. They knew this day would eventually end up coming. They just did not expect it to be so soon and when they were so young.

Spike can see Twilights happy memories of her brother being there for her as a friend to help her be strong and be there when she was sad. He also saw how he was there for Twilight as a brother. He saw the day she learned how to fly a kite. There, teaching her was Shining Armor. He was there to play with her and to keep her safe in the terrifying thunder storms that seemed to never pass, and in the times when she was scared at night from the darkness.

Likewise, Twilight saw the times in Spike’s eyes where Shining Armor was playing football with him, and all the times when they hung out together to have their little “Guy’s time”. She saw the moments when Armor taught Spike how to protect those he loved with logic instead of power. The time when he was on the little league baseball team and Shining Armor came and cheered the loudest for Spike when he was out training for the army.

They each saw how important Shining Armor was to one another was and that made them cry even more. They loved him so much that they knew that they would never stop crying until they all saw him again. That day, they would both be happy again and be able to continue on. Sometime later, they returned home and went into their rooms to end this retched day.

A couple of months later, everything seems to be back to normal, except for the fact that Twilight and Spike return to the cemetery every weekend in order to honor their brother. This weekend, however, is different. There is almost no food left. Twilight notices this and asks Spike to run to the store to retrieve some food. However, she asks him to go and bring their friends back to the house.

Spike thinks nothing of the request and runs to the store and gathers together enough food and supplies to last a month. He remembers that Twilight wanted all of her friends to go to the library and proceeds to get them. He gets Rainbow Dash first since she is the fastest and asks her to get Applejack, and Fluttershy from their respective homes while he goes and gets Rarity and Pinkie Pie from their own homes. They rush off and everyone meets in front of the library a half hour later.

Spike grabs the doorknob and instantly knows something is wrong. He opens the door slowly. When it is fully open, they all walk in to the obscure and abnormally tranquil library. Rarity uses her magic and turns on the light. What they all find is a gruesome sight. Twilight was swinging back and forth, by the neck, from the ceiling of the library. She was about ten feet in the air, but it was not completely her.

It was only her head. Everyone looked off to the left and found Twilight’s body smashed into a corner and completely covered in blood. Besides the blood and body parts everywhere, they find that she has cuts across her wrists which everyone thought was anomalous. They all looked to Spike for answers but he was in a complete state of shock. He was still looking at her head, hanging from the ceiling with the same expression from when she learned Shining Armor was dead.

Fluttershy immediately covered Spike’s eyes and pushed him outside. However it was too late. Spike had seen the last person he cared for dead and completely empty. He fell to his knees, and looked to Fluttershy.

“Tell me that I just imagined all of that. Please tell me that Twilight is in there alive and reading a book just as usual. Tell me that her head is not hanging halfway between the floors and ceiling and that her body is in a corner smashed with blood everywhere. Please tell me what I saw.”

“I- I’m sorry Spike. What you saw is the truth.” Fluttershy said while crying and with complete sadness in her voice.

Spike begin crying his heart out for he had just lost the last person he cared for with all his heart. He was alone.

“I think you should come and read this,” Applejack said. Spike turned and looked to AJ who was holding what appeared to be a book, a diary of some sort.
