A New Friend

It's another peaceful after noon, Twilight and Spike were practicing different types of tricks.

"Growing magic, that's number twenty five, twenty five different types of tricks and counting." Spike said.

Twilight blushes.

"And i think this is the best trick so far, hello Rarity, what's that? Oh it's nothing just my awesome mustache." Spike said while looking at his reflection.

"Sorry romeo, as attractive and enticing as you look it's just for practice and it's gotta go." Twilight said to him while magically removing the mustache.

"Wait! Oh rats." Spike said.

Twilight chuckles.

Meanwhile, Muyo was walking and enjoying the fresh air, he sees Spike and Twilight and approaches.

"Hey Twilight, Spike" He called.

"Hello Muyo." Twilight greeted.

"We were just talking about these twenty five different types of tricks Twilight did and counting." Spike said to him.

"Really? Sounds great, wish i saw it." Muyo said.

"I thought unicorns were only suppose to have a little magic that matches their special talents." Spike said.

"They do?" Muyo asked.

"True, for ponies who's talents are for things like cooking or singing or math, but what if a unicorn's special talent IS magic?" Twilight said then asked.

"Like you Twilight, and you know a ton of magic." Spike said.

"Oh Spike stop, i'm sure there are lots of ponies right here in Pony Ville that know just as much magic as me." Twilight said.

"Are you kidding? I don't think there's another unicorn in all of Equestria with your kind of ability Twilight." Spike said to her.

"I have to agree." Muyo said.

Twilight smiles at Muyo and blushes. Suddenly they hear Snips and Snails yell and ran past Twilight and collided with Spike, they tell them about a new unicorn in town.

"They say she's got more magical powers than any other unicorn ever." Snips said.

"Really?" Twilight asked.

"Aw no way, that honor goes to Twilight here." Spike said to them.

Twilight blushes again.

"Where is this unicorn?" Twilight asked.

"I'm curious too." Muyo added.

"She's in the town square, come on!" Snails said.

Snips and Snails run off.

"Let's take a look." Muyo said.

"Yeah." Twilight responded.

They reach the town square, a voice called out.

"Come one come all! Come and witness the amazing magic! Of the great and powerful Trixie!!" The voice said as she appeared.

The ponies in the audience were in awe, Muyo's eyes widen, the minute he saw Trixie his heart beat quick, he had never seen a pretty mare like her.

"Whoa, she's so... Beautiful." He thought.

"Watch in awe, as the great and powerful Trixie, preforms the most spectacular feats of magic ever witnessed by pony eyes!" Trixie said boastfully with fire works.

"My my my, what boasting." Rarity said.

"Come on, no pony is as magical as Twi... Twi... Twi... Whoa *Clears throat* Hey Rarity i uh... Mustache!" Spike said then left.

"There's nothing wrong with being talented is there?" Twilight asked.

"Nothing at all, except when someone goes around showing it off like a school filly with fancy new ribbons." AJ answered then said.

"Just because one has the ability to do lots of magic does not make them better than the rest of us." Rarity added.

"Especially when you got me around being better than the rest of us." RD said.

AJ glares at her.

"I mean, yeah, magic magic, boo!" RD said.

"Well well well, it seems we have some neighsayers in the audience, who is so ignorant as to challenge the magical ability of the great and powerful Trixie?!" Trixie asked in third person.

"Not me." Muyo said mentally.

"Do they not know that they are in the presence of the most magical unicorn in all of Equestria?!" Trixie asked.

"I know that i'm in the presence of the most beautiful mare." Muyo said mentally again.

"Just who does she think she is?" Rarity asked.

"Yeah! Since we all know that Twilight here is-" Spike said until he was interrupted by Twilight.

"Spike! Shh!" Twilight whispered.

"What? What's wrong?" Spike asked.

"You see the way they reacted to Trixie? I don't want anyone thinking i'm a show off." Twilight whispered.

RD flies up to Trixie.

"Get off the stage Rainbow Dash." Muyo thought.

"So great and powerful Trixie, what makes you think your so awesome anyway?" RD asked.

"Besides looking better than you?" Muyo asked quietly.

"Why, only the great and powerful Trixie has magic strong enough to vanquish the dreaded Ursa Major!" Trixie said.

Fire works explode showing a bear.

"What?!" Snips asked.

"No way?!" Snails said.

"Interesting." Muyo mumbled.

"When all hope was lost, the ponies of hoofinghton had no one to turn to, but the great and powerful Trixie stepped in and with her awesome magic, vanquished the Ursa Major and sent it back to it's cave, deep within the everfree forest." Trixie said.

"Impressive." Muyo said quietly.

"Sweet!" Snips and Snails said in unison.

"That settles it." Snips said.

"Trixie truly is the most talented, most magical, most awesome unicorn in Pony Ville." Snails said.

"No! In all of Equestria." Snips said.

"How do you know!? You didn't see it! And besides Twimmmm!" Spike said until his mouth was zipped shut.

"It's true my enthusiastic little admirers, Trixie is most certainly the best in Pony Ville." Trixie said.

The audience stares.

"Don't believe the great and powerful Trixie? Well then i here by challenge you pony villains, anything you can do, i can do better, any takers? Anyone? Or is Trixie destined to be the greatest equine who has ever lived?" Trixie asked.

"I'd say your destined to be mine but that's too hasty." Muyo thought.

"Please! She's unbearable, you gotta show her, you just gotta." Spike pleaded.

"There's no way i'm gonna use my magic now Spike, especially since-" She said to him.

"Hmm, how about? You?" Trixie asked pointing at AJ.

Twilight gulps thinking it was her Trixie was pointing.

"Well how about it hm? Is there anything you can do that the great and powerful Trixie can't?" Trixie asked.

"I... I..."Twilight muttered.

"Well? Little hayseed?" Trixie asked.

"That's it! I can't stand for no more of this!" AJ said.

"No more of what? She's not doing anything wrong, she's just boasting." Muyo said mentally.

Muyo doesn't dare speak up or say what's in his mind because he doesn't want to hurt his friends.

"You show her AJ!" Spike said.

"Show her what? Why are you so hostile? So what if she's boasting?" Muyo whispered.

"Can your magical powers do this?" AJ asked Trixie while preforming some rope tricks.

"Top that Missy." AJ said to Trixie.

"That was cool but not the greatest thing ever." Muyo thought.

"Muyo are you ok? You've been quiet and looks like you want to say something." Twilight asked him.

"I... Do but... I don't want to offend." Muyo answered.

"Oh ye of little talent, watch and be amazed at the magic of Trixie." Trixie said.

Trixie ties up AJ and puts a apple in her mouth with her magic.

"Once again the great and powerful Trixie prevails." Trixie said.

"There's no need to go strutting around and showing off like that." RD said to Trixie.

"Oh?" Trixie asked.

"That's my job." RD said to Trixie.

"Oh it's your job? I thought your job was to clear clouds, not show off like an attention...!" Muyo said in his mind.

"Muyo? You are starting to worry me, let it out." Twilight said to him.

After RD finished her stunts.

"They don't call me Rainbow and Dash for nothing." RD said.

"Oh for!" Muyo said mentally and resisted the urge to shout.

"When Trixie is through, the only thing they'll call you is loser." Trixie said.

She uses her magic to make Dash spin.

"Seems like anypony with a dash of good sense would think twice before tussling with the great Trixie." Trixie said.

She makes a lightning cloud appear and strike Dash's flank, causing laughter from the audience.

"What we need is another unicorn to challenge her, somepony with some magic of her own." Spike said.

"Yeah, a unicorn to show this unicorn who's boss." RD said.

"A real unicorn to unicorn tussle." AJ said.

"Ok that's enough." Muyo said out loud.

"Muyo is right, enough, enough all of you, i take your hint but Rarity is above such nonsense, Applejack and Rainbow Dash may behave like ruffians but Rarity conducts herself with beauty and grace." Rarity said.

"Ooooh what's the matter? Afraid you'll get a hair out of place in that rat's nest you call a mane?" Trixie asked her.

"Oh it is on, you may think your tough with your so called powers, but there's more to magic than your brutish ways, a unicorn needs to be more than just muscle, a unicorn needs to have style, a unicorn is not a unicorn without grace and beauty." Rarity said to Trixie.

"Rarity won't let Trixie get the best of her, she's strong, she's beautiful, she's-" Spike said.

Trixie used her magic to change Rarity's mane.

"Quick!! I need a mirror!! Get me a mirror!! What did she do to my hair?! I know she did something terrible to my hair!!" Rarity said frantic.

"Nothing." Twilight said.

"It's fine." RD said.

"It's gorgeous." AJ said

"Aren't you suppose to be the element of honesty AJ?" Muyo asked her.

"It's green." Spike said.

"No! Green hair?! Not green hair!!" Rarity shouted.

She runs off crying.

"Such an awful awful color!!" She yelled.

"Well Twilight, guess it's up to you, come on, show her what your made of." Spike said to Twilight.

"What do you mean? I'm nothing special." Twilight said to him.

"Your special to me." Muyo said.

Twilight smiles at him.

"Yes you are, your better than her." Spike said to her.

"I'm not better than anyone." Twilight said to him.

"You think your better than the great and powerful Trixie? You think you have more magical talent? Well come on, show Trixie what you got, show us all." Trixie asked her then said.

"Who me? I'm just your run of the mill citizen of Pony Ville, no powerful magic here, i think i hear my laundry calling, sorry gotta go." Twilight said.

She runs back home.

"Once again the great and powerful Trixie has proven herself to be the most amazing unicorn in all of Equestria, was there ever any doubt?" Trixie said then asked.

"I never doubted you for a second." Muyo said quietly.

After the show, Muyo took this opportunity to talk to Trixie even though he felt like he should talk to Twilight. He watched her brush her mane from afar, Muyo felt a little shy at first, Snips and Snails approached her with a smoothie she asked for.

"Here's the smoothie you asked, with extra hay just how you like it." Snips said.

"Hmm, she like smoothies with extra hay?" Muyo thought.

Snips and Snails ask her to tell them the story of the Ursa Major but she claims to be too exhausted so she tells them to begone till morning, Muyo approached after they left.

"Hello miss Trixie." He greeted.

Trixie looks at him.

"You are that handsome looking stallion aren't you?" Trixie asked him.

Muyo blushes.

"You recognized me?" He asked.

"Yes, you were literally the only good looking one in the audience, i saw those eyes of yours, if i didn't know any better i'd say you have a crush on the great Trixie." She explained.

"A-Anyway... Um, I wanted to talk to you, if that's ok." He said to her.

"Certainly, what can I? Trixie, do for you?" She said.

"Well, I want know about..." He said with a shy look.

"About how I vanquished the Ursa Major?" She asked.

"Sure." He answered.

"Well you see I... U-Uh..." Trixie said.

"How did you beat it?" He asked.

"I-I..." She stammered.

Muyo could tell that something was up, he touched her shoulder.

"It's ok, if it's too hard then don't, I won't mind." He said to her.

Trixie looked at his face, his smile and kind eyes melted her heart.

"Can I... Tell you something? Promise not to tell?" Trixie asked him.

"Sure." He answered.

"I... Made it up... The whole story of the Ursa Major... I made it all up... I'm sorry." She confessed.

"Made it up to make yourself look better?" He asked.

"Yes, pathetic I know." She answered sadly.

"You aren't pathetic, truth is, I don't care, I'm actually interested in you, you are a beautiful mare." He told her.

His words filled her heart with joy.

"Nopony has ever been this kind to me before." She said.

"First time for everything." He said.

"So... You do... Have a crush...?" Trixie reluctantly asked.

"I'll be honest... Yes, you are the first mare I've ever had a crush on." He confessed.

"I thought you and that purple mare were a couple." Trixie said.

"Huh?! No no we're just friends." He assured.

He notices that it's getting dark.

"I have to head home now, I'll see you tomorrow." He said as he leaves.

"Yes, tomorrow, oh my gosh, I'm in love." She said.

Later the same night Muyo goes to see Twilight, he hears Spike talking with her.

"Twilight will you put down that book and just listen to me?" Spike asked.

"Didn't you see how they hated Trixie's bragging Spike? If i go out there and show off my magic i run the risk of losing them as friends."

"It's not the same thing Twilight, you'd be using your magic to stand up for your friends." Spike said to her.

"No Spike it's exactly the same." Twilight said to Spike.

Muyo simply hears their argument, after Spike left he entered.

"Hey Twilight, can i talk to you?" He asked.

"Sure... I need someone to talk to." She answered.

"I know your afraid that your friends will hate you for showing off, but don't be, i seriously doubt they'll hate you for something so small." He said to her.

"Small? But you saw them?" She asked.

"They over reacted towards Trixie's boasting, that's all she did, she didn't do anything wrong, yes she was rather obnoxious but that doesn't mean you have to get on stage and humiliate yourself like that just because you hate it when someone brags about their abilities!!" Muyo yelled.

"Your talking about AJ and Dash?" Twilight asked.

"Yes, look, i won't ever hate you, neither will your friends, your too kind to show off like Trixie, one way or another you'll see that you have nothing to be afraid of." Muyo explained.

"Ok, you really shouldn't bottle up your feelings." She said.

"Bad habit, sorry for the outburst." He apologized.

"It's alright... Don't hide your feelings from me, i won't hide mine from you." Twilight said to him.

"Deal." He said with a smile.

"Why don't you read this book with me? It's about the Ursa Major." She asked.

"I'd love too." He replied.

Meanwhile Snips and Snails bring an Ursa Major, Muyo and Twilight were reading till Spike entered.

"Twilight!! You gotta come!! Quick!-" Spike said frantic.

"I've already told you Spike, i don't want to show up Trixie." Twilight said.

"No you don't understand it-" Spike said until they hear a roar.

"Uh is that what i think it is?" Twilight asked him.

"Majorly." Spike answered.

"Oh no!" Muyo said out loud.

The three of them run outside. The Ursa approaches Trixie and Snips and Snails.

"Great and powerful Trixie, you got to vanquish the Ursa." Snips said to her.

"Yeah, vanquish so we can watch." Snails said.

"It took a lot of trouble to get that thing here." Snips told her.

"Wait!! You brought this here?! Are you out of your little pony minds?!" Trixie asked them.

"But... You're the great and powerful Trixie." Snips said.

"Yeah remember? You defeated an Ursa Major." Snails said.

Trixie tries to vanquish the Ursa but fails twice, they run away from the Ursa, it's roar woke the town, Muyo and Twilight run into Snips and Snails and asked them what's going on, Snips and Snails tells them that they brought an Ursa to town.

"You what?!" Twilight asked.

"Are you insane?!" Muyo asked.

"Don't worry the great and powerful Trixie will vanquish it." Snails said.

"I can't." Trixie said.

"What!?" S and S asked.

"I can't i never had, no one can vanquish an Ursa Major, i just made the whole story up to make me look better."

"Made it up?!" S and S said.

The Ursa approached, everypony coward in fear except Muyo, Twilight gulps, he puts his hoof on her shoulder.

"I believe in you." Muyo tells Twilight.

"You... Do?" She asked.

Twilight does several magic tricks, first she used wind to make a lullaby to calm it down, then listed a water tank and emptied it then filled it with milk, then succeeds in putting the Ursa back to it's cave.

"We knew you had ability but not that much." AJ said.

"I'm sorry, please please don't hate me." Twilight pleaded.

"Hate you?" The three asked.

"Why whatever do you mean darling?" Rarity asked.

"Well... I know how much you all hated Trixie showing off with her magic tricks and i just thought-" Twilight said.

"Whoa whoa whoa magic gots nothing to do with it, Trixie is just a loud mouth." RD said.

"Most unpleasant." Rarity said.

"All hat and no saddle." AJ said.

"So you don't mind my magic tricks?" Twilight asked.

"Your magic is a part of who you are sugar cube and we like who you are, we're proud to have such a powerful talented unicorn as our friend." AJ said.

"And after whooping that Ursa's hindquarters, we're even prouder." RD said.

"You are?" Twilight asked.

They nod.

"I'm proud too." Muyo said.

Spike asked how she knew what to do with the Ursa Major, she explains that she was so intrigued by Trixie's bragging that she was compelled to do a little reading up on them.

"So it is possible to vanquish an Ursa Major all by yourself?" Spike asked.

"That wasn't an Ursa Major, it was a baby, an Ursa Minor." Twilight explained.

"That was just a baby?" Trixie asked.

"And it wasn't rampaging, it was just cranky because somepony woke it up." Twilight explained.

"If that was an Ursa Minor, then what's an Ursa Major like?" Spike asked.

"You don't want to know." Twilight said.

"You may have vanquished an Ursa Minor but you will never have the amazing, show stopping ability of the great and powerful Trixie!" Trixie said as she uses a smoke trick and runs away.

"Trixie don't go..." Muyo said quietly.

Trixie looks back, she felt him call for her but she ran away crying.

RD tries to fly after her but Twilight tells her to let her go, someday she'll learn her lesson. Twilight punishes S and S by cleaning up Trixie's destroyed wagon, Muyo already started. Next day, Twilight sends her report, Muyo feels slightly depressed and is visited by Twilight after she told Spike to drop the mustache thing.

"Muyo are you ok?" She asks.

Muyo stays quiet.

"I know your sad, but maybe you'll find somepony else, so cheer up." Twilight said to him.

Muyo looks at her, he notices something he didn't see before.

"Odd, Twilight is pretty too." He said mentally.

"Let's go to Sugar Cube Corner, something sweet will help." She said to him.

Muyo smiles.

"Ok." He said.

"You know, I like your smile." She said.

"Thanks." He said.

They both go to Sugar Cube Corner for a treat. Elsewhere.

"It's only been a day... I already miss him... One day i'll return... Unless you come for me...." Trixie thought.
