Have you ever fell in love with someone, or somepony, and thought, "This is it."? Love is a mysterious thing that controls part of the world, and yet love may feel really good and safe, it can be dangerous too. This is what Vinyl thought when she found the perfect pony to be with, but realized what her "special somepony" was really like in their relationship and became depressed as they days went on.
