In Ponyville the birds were chirping, the sun was being risen up by Celestia, and everypony was slowly awaking to another work filled day. It was a busy day in Ponyville as all of them were preparing for a big party, which was hosted by the one and only Pinkie Pie. Everypony was getting ready to celebrate the day of Ponyville's finding and also celebrating Vinyl Scratch's birthday, which she was the entertainment for the event. Vinyl thought it would be a perfect opportunity to get away from Canterlot because of all the drama that had happened to her recently. The pain, the tears, the everything.

She just needed to get away for awhile.

Pinkie invited her to Ponyville to help her give the party a bit more spice, which is what Vinyl was good at when it came to a party. Vinyl packed some clothes to stay in Ponyville for about a week, but she plans to stay there for at least three months to make sure what she left behind her stays there and doesn't come back. Pinkie told Vinyl that she would make tons of cupcakes and muffins for her to celebrate her birthday and Vinyl simply laughed, joking around with Pinkie that she makes too many cupcakes.

Vinyl stayed at Sugar Cube Corner until the night of the party, which was in five days. When it came to the night of the party, Vinyl prepared herself for one of the biggest nights she will ever encounter, fixing her mane up, putting on her glasses, and making hard rocking gestures in the mirror, looking to see which gestures will make the crowd go crazy. Vinyl smiled at her reflection and was about to head out the door, until she heard a knock at the door. She went to go answer the door and standing before her was a pony messenger, he had a letter in her mouth and gave it to Vinyl.

Vinyl took the letter over to the dresser and looked at it. She looked at the letter nervously as she saw the name on the letter. Her stomach went into knots as she saw the name, her teeth started to grind, and she screamed in anger. She took the letter, threw it away and ran out the door. "Nothing, not even her, will get in my way." she softly says to herself, making her way to the party.

The lights were flashing, the music playing loud, and the whole ground shaking as the ponies in Ponyville were shaking their flanks to the heavy beat of the music coursing through their hearts. The bass was at maximum, the ponies were cheering, and Vinyl was rocking her mane as she put her hoof up in the air cheering into a microphone, "Let's party till we drop Ponyville! Yeah!" The ponies cheered for Vinyl, screaming her name, rocking their manes harder as the music switched to a vigorous and heavy beat.

Vinyl wiped the sweat off of her head and let out a deep breath; she decided to take a break for awhile and let one of her back ups take the DJ set for now until she had returned. She went back behind stage to grab a cider or two to chug down before she went back to one of the best party's she has ever attended, but as she went backstage she didn't know what, or who, was waiting for her. She went into the mini fridge, grabbed a couple of ciders, and set them on the long snack table. The table had all kinds of assorted snacks from cupcakes to muffins and sandwiches too, which none of them favored Vinyl at the moment as she opened one cider and started to chug it.

In the middle of her drink she had a strange feeling that somepony was watching her, which was unusual for her since it is simply impossible for anypony to backstage with her now. She carefully set her drink down and turned around slowly, but nopony seemed to be there as she had predicted. Her heart started to race as she looked back and forth to make sure she wasn't hallucinating that a pony was there. Vinyl looked very carefully, but it was no use, she couldn't find anypony there. She turned around to continue drinking her cider and dosed herself up with the two bottles of cider.

She came back onto the stage and everypony went nuts as she appeared before them, cheering, "Vinyl! Vinyl! Vinyl!" Vinyl felt amazed by the crowds reaction of her coming back, but it shouldn't surprise her knowing that she's the number one pony musician and has sold thousands of hits. She rose her hoof up and the crowd went absolutely crazy as she slammed her hoof down on the set in front of her and started up another one of her singles. The crowd started dancing, the bass was at maximum, the ground was shaking. This was Vinyl's best night ever.

Until... The lights went out, the music stopped, and everypony became silent.

The light turned back on and everypony started asking Vinyl what happened. "Everypony!" Vinyl screamed to silence the crowd, "I don't know what happened, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience, we must be having some technical problems. I'll go che.." But before she could finish, she was stopped by the appearance of one pony that came onto the stage and was in tears. She looked at Vinyl like she was desperate and angry, mascara dripping from her face and smudged around her eyes. It was one of Vinyl's worst enemies...

Her ex. This wasn't an ordinary ex.... This was, THE ex.

"Why... You... Fucking... Bitch..." The pony said very slowly.

Vinyl was surprised and she became angry, "What are you doing here?!" Vinyl yelled.

"To take you back!" The pony said.

"You'll never get me back!"

"You never gave me a real chance!"

"I did too! But you threw it away you psychotic bitch!" Vinyl yelled as she stomped her hoof.

The other pony started to cry softly, "You promised forever Vinyl..."

"Well, when you never tell me anything, lie to me, and only want me for my body, why should I stay with you?!" Vinyl yelled as she started to cry.

"You shared everything with me... You stole my heart... You promised me..." The other pony said softly.

Vinyl started to shed tears and cry softly, "JUST GO AWAY! GO AWAY YOU BITCH! I HATE YOU! YOU LIED TO ME! YOU FUCKING LIED TO ME! I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!"

The other pony looked up with tears running down her face, "But Vinyl..."

Vinyl looked away, "Lyra... Just go away. You've... Done enough damage" Vinyl burst into tears and Lyra stood up approaching Vinyl slowly, with something strapped to her hoof.

"Please Vinyl... Don't make me do this..." Lyra grabbed the thing from her hoof and held it in her hoof, pointing it at Vinyl's head. "Take me back... Or else..."
