Chapters The Guardian Of Equestria
I was completely shrouded in darkness, alone and lost. No on was there to help me...
"Maxis... Maxis...Maxis..."
A female voice was calling out to me, I turned and searched desperately to find who ever the voice belonged to. *smack* something had hit me right across the face. I found myself someplace new, yet recognizable. A blue pegasus laid on top of my stomach iving me a stern look. She had a rainbow colored mane with cerise colored eyes.
"Did you just slap me?" I questioned.
"No. I just tried to giving you a high five but your face got in the way." Rainbow Dash answered.
"You don't even have fingers."
"So." Rainbow Dash smiled.
I rolled my eyes Leave it up to Rainbow Dash to to wake me up with a slap. I took a quick glance around the room. A white ceiling and floor, a wall full of trophies and one that was in cased in glass the read, 'Best Young Flier'. This was most definitely Rainbow Dash's house. Now the only question that remained was how'd I even get up here? If memory serves me right we were at a bar last night, so how'd I get up here without breaking any bones is beyond me. Guess I shouldn't question it.
"Come on get out of bed we need to meet with the others at Apple Acres." Dash said biting down on the covers and pulling them off. "Wow I didn't know you that happy to see me." Dash spoke as her face turned red.
"You know it's morning wood!" I shouted though I could tell she wasn't paying much attention to me.
"Yeah yeah. How about you go hit the shower you perv." She stated. Those last words were music to my ears. RD's Shower was amazing, not that it wasn't expected to be, but the shower was beyond cool there are no words for it. I immediately got out of bed and went straight for the shower leaving Rainbow Dash behind. I opened the door to see a miniature waterfall that turned into a small river that that turned into a pool. The water must be rally warm to make steam come off of it.
"This never gets old." I thought out loud.
"Yeah enjoy it. I'm thinking about changing this old thing. It's one of the most lamest things here."
I gave her a shocked look,"No way! This is the coolest thing I've ever seen! You can't get rid of it!" I exclaimed. She just stood there staring at it, finally nudging me into the shower.
"I'll leave your new clothes by the door." She told me as she left.
Once I was done showering, drying myself, and changed into my new clothes; I went outside and walked about the house for a bit. Dash's house was pretty cool. It had a basket ball court, a weight room, a pool (or shower which ever you prefer to call it) and an obstacle course, but that's not really surprising. The house did have some not so cool things about it, one of which was it's all white. Seriously I don't get why pegasus enjoy having white homes. I feel if I lived in one of these houses as long as Dash has, I'd go insane. Dash was sitting down out in back looking down off the clouds.
"Hey. Is there something wrong?" I asked sitting right next to her.
"No."
"That's obviously a lie. Normally you start yelling and complaining at me about how long I take getting out of the shower followed by I did this many laps while you were in there why can't you shower any faster." I smiled but she didn't seem to be happy. "Ok seriously what's wrong?"
There was an uneasy silence, "Do you really not remember who you are or anything about your past?" She questioned staring off into the distance.
No one had ever asked me if I truly remembered anything about my past. For the entire year that I have lived in ponyville everyone has always tired help me regain my past, a past that I could not remember to save my own life.
"No. Why do ask?"
"It's just... I guess, well it was just a bad dream. Like the time I dreamt Pinkie killed me."
"Annnndd"
"Well what if your some kind of experiment gone wrong, or a assassin sent to kill Celestia and Luna, or what if you're a mass murder!"
"Don't worry. If I ever remember my past and find out that I was any of those type of guy. I'd give it up for you girls." I re-ensured her petting her as she smiled.
"Come on let's go!" She whined. She was flying outside the house already, I stood by the door and stretched as new clouds formed creating a staircase down from her home. "Now that's cool." Dash spoke up. I don't remember who I was or the life I once had but I found out I could control the clouds after a little adventure with the cutiemark crusaders. When I finally got to the ground we began to make small conversations. After an 15 minutes we made it to AppleJack's farm, I saw almost everypony from ponyville was there as we walked onto the property. The entrance had a banner that said happy birthday Maxis. That was a surprise, even though my birthday was two days ago, well actually it was the day they found me. It was more like an anniversary thing more then anything. To be honest we decide to make that day my birthday because Pinkie was having a panic attack over me not knowing when to through a party for me.
I began to greet everyone at the party and as I went through I noticed a grand table with royal guards around. There sitting at the table was princess Celestia and the newly crowned princess Twilight.
"Hey! How are you Twilight or should I say princess Twilight." I greeted "And how are you princess Celestia?"
"Maxis you know I don't like being called princess." Twilight complained.
" We are doing quite well. I sorry that we all missed your birthday two days ago I do hope this makes up for it." Celestia responded.
"Oh come on you didn't have to do this all you had to do was just say Happy birthday not through this giant party." I told her.
"Are thou saying this does not please you?" A voice asked me from behind.
"Luna!? Aren't you suppose to be a sleep? Its morning...well it is three or four in the afternoon." I remarked. I never understood why every time I slept in Dash's home I would be a sleep for most of the day.
"Do not fret about me I know I can do my job as a princess of the night even if I stay up a little longer then I should. And besides I do believe that I can enjoy a party now and again." She answered.
"Yeah I guess you're right but still-"
*Boom* something hit me like a ton of bricks my head felt light and my mind went blank and my body felt as heavy as stone. I collapsed on to the ground as I heard the others scream for help as there voices became quieter. I closed my eyes and when they opened once again, I found myself looking at a chess board on the other side another human sat. The room was completely white nothing but the table and chairs were around us. Even then I felt as if I knew the where this was.
"Make your move Maxis." He told me. The bored had just been set up and I would be making the first move. I moved my pawn on A-2 to A-4.
"So how did you leave the young mistress?" He asked moving his pawn from H-7 to H-5.
"She is fine. She was tired from all the running in the yard so she went to bed." I answered. Moving my rook from A-1 to A-3.
"That is fine I suppose." He replied moving his knight from G-8 to F-6.
"If I didn't know you better I'd say something is bothering you Mus." I said moving pawn B-2 to B-3.
"You would laugh if I told you. Or possibly get angry at me for even having these thoughts. You seem to have quite the attachment with mistress Luna." He told me moving his pawn C-7 to C-6. Then my eyes closed and then opened to find myself sitting on a bench.
"Are thou ok?" Luna asked.
"Yes I am fine mistress Luna you should not worry about me." I answered. I looked up and saw everyone around me giving me weird looks.
"Did you just call Luna your mistress?" Some asked.

Regaining False Memories...
"Did you just call Luna your mistress?" Rainbow asked me.
"I don't - maybe I'm not sure... my head is spinning...I.. Uh my head." this has happened before it wasn't as strange as you would think. When ever that happened I would regain parts of my memory, that's how I ended up finding out what my name was, but there were times that I would re-live old memories such as now. When I first arrived at ponyville I had no recollection of who I was, but while I've been here and time passed I began to regain my memories.
"Did you regain a memory?" Twilight asked.
"I... I think. I was playing chess against another human... his name was Mus or at least that's what I called him. We were talking about a young mistress, I think it was Luna. How she had fallen asleep after playing outside. I think you were still a filly." I looked up at Luna.
"Now don't be silly darling. Celestia and Luna are, I do apologize for what I am about to say, they are quite old for how young they look. There is no way you could possible have known Luna as a filly." Rarity said. she had a point, but at the same time I did feel as if I did. Looking over at Luna I could see that she was happy and behind her Celestia looked afraid and unhappy with my with what I had said.
"Yeah your probably right. But this felt just like the others and... well the first time another human has appeared in my little black out of mine." I stated. "Sorry for scaring you all, guess it was a false memory." I told everyone giving a week smile and standing up. Everypony went back to whatever they were doing. As for me I went and talked to Twilight and asked how things were going in Cantorlot. She seemed happy to be back in ponyville, she had been in Cantorlot the past few days, 'she was doing official business' I had no idea what it was and I wasn't going to pry the information out of her. If she wanted to tell me I'd be happy to listen to her. When night came everyone left only Twilight and her friends stay to clean up the mess. I was out by the barn when some tapped me.
"Luna? Wh-what are you doing here shouldn't you-"
"You really should think about your dream, it may have more meaning they it may appear." she said cutting off my sentence turning away from me. I didn't quite understand why she would go out of her way to tell me this but guess if she was telling me to give it thought I should.
"Ok. I will." and with that she went her away to who know where. I went back to cleaning whatever was left and decided that I should check in the back of the barn.
"Hey there Maxis!" a voice called out to me. It was AppleJack, "Hey every one is done out in front. When yer done why don't you join us in front of tha barn." Applejack continued.
"Alright I'll be there in a bit I'm done here either way. I kinda just want to think about something alone before I go with you girls." I replied.
"It's that false memory of yers ain't it."
"Yeah and I don't know maybe it's not false what if I'm like Luna and Celestia and don't age the way that others do. Hell I'm not even pony I'm human. What if... what if they know who I am and don't want to tell me." I responded.
"Ah come on don't be silly. Celestia and Luna wouldn' lie about not having infermation about ya'." AJ told me. She would be right but Luna and Celestia have never been asked if they know me or if they know my kind. What if I'm right and they're hiding who I am for some reason.
Apple Jack most have read my mind, "Look if they knew anything about ya' and where hiding it from you. I'm sure they would have a good reason to."
"I guess but even then if they are... it kinda scares me what if I was murder and they're seeing if I'm telling the turth about me not having memories. What if I'm some experiment that went wrong and I got away and they were trying to put me down but others know about me now. What if-"
"Calm down. You aren't a murder and ya' ain't a darn experiment. You're a friend one that we wish you to find a her." Herd It's been a long time since someone said that word.
By the third month after arriving in ponyville I was together with Pinkie Pie though that didn't last very long, she was way to excitable. She was the first to talk to me and befriend me though. No pony was surprised with that, she was known to be... a bit out of the ordinary. Once her friends started to know me they made a deal, without me even though it had to do with me, I never really figured out what the deal was.That same day they sent me to Ms.Cheerilee's and I learned about herding, weird custom. Equestria is mostly made up of females so they had a rule or law if you are not married you can have more then one mate. They ended up calling it herding I personally thought it was strange, but hey guess I can't judge I don't even know my past . Not knowing anything about yourself can be quite a pain but after awhile you kinda get use to it.
After cleaning up we had a little talk all of us out by the barn. "You're crazy you know that." Dash told Pinkie.
"But it's true ask Maxis." She point at me as everyone began to stare at me.
"Yeah what she said is true." I backed her story up which again was true.
"But how did you know which was the true Pinkie?" Rarity questioned.
"Simple they look and think like Pinkie but they don't keep her memories so I told her a key word that only the real Pinkie knew. The other one said-"
"Pineapples!"
"Coconaut."
"Cream pie!"
"Coconaut pie."
"Chimichangas!"
"Anyways. after knowing who the real Pinkie was I gave her a blue bracelet so I could tell which out of the 20 was real."
"And that's why we destroyed the entire cave entrance" Pinkie declared. She was always so happy how could she be like that, she must have a lot of sugar in her system at all time almost every day to be like that.
"Hey! Maxis could ya' tell me and the girls a bed time story?" Applebloom ran up with Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle right behind her. I looked at the the rest of gang,
"Well looks like I have to go but hey let's continue this at Twilights tomorrow. I think I'll go to sleep as well after story time with the girls." I said. Once in Applebloom's room ad the girls were ready and tucked in,
"Oh tell us a story about an awsome hero!" Scootaloo shouted.
"No do a romantic story about two lovers meet and loose touch but end up togther at the end." Sweetiebelle squealed.
"Tell us about one of your dreams." Applebloom spoke up between the two. They both brightened up, "Yeah let's hear one of your dreams."
"Alright alright. let's see... I once fell asleep and began to dream about being a purple banana cutting hair in a race."
"Come on be serious Maxis." They all yelled.
"Ok ok. There once was a time that I saw my mother. She glowed as bright as the sun if not brighter. She told me never to pick fights, to avoid them if possible. There was once when I got into a fight I knew I could not beat the man that I was fighting and so..."

The next morning right as the sun was coming up AppleJack woke me along with the cutie mark crusaders so we could go to Twilight's. It was a pain in the ass, I don't know how AJ and Applebloom can handle waking up so early every day. When we finally arrived at Twilight's, everyone was there already waiting for us. The CMC didn't stay very long, they still had to go to school today.
"Maxis, could you be a dear and make some of that delicious tea that I do so adore." Rarity told me.
"Sure. You girls want anything from the kitchen while I'm back there?" I asked them.
They all looked at one another, "No we're all alright,thank you for the thought though." Twilight Spoke up.
I left the main room that the girls were in and went into the kitchen. There I found a small purple and green dragon on the kitchen counter top. Spike was stuffing his face with cupcakes that Pinkie made before coming from Sugar Cube Corner. I didn't have a problem with him stuffing his face with the cupcakes, they were for him, but still I felt like I should warn him.
"You're going to get sick if you eat that many that fast."
"Don''t *much* worry *much* we dragons *gulp* have a stronger stomach then humans and ponies." He claimed before stuffing more cupcakes into his mouth.
"Ah... Where's the tea kettle?" I asked him as I went through the lower cabinets.
"Muher merraf nufer camit."
"What?" I questioned turning to him.
"*Gulp* Top far left cabinet."
"Thanks."
After finding the kettle I began to pour some water in, after that I put the kettle on the stove and put the fire on high. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a brown paper bag. Curiosity poked my interest, so I went to check it out. Inside contained a a peanutbutter and hay sandwich with a small glass of milk that was sealed by plastic wrap, and an apple. I turned it around to see the name "Applebloom" written on it in black-marker.I went back to the main room where the girls were.
"Hey AppleJack Applebloom left her lunch." I told her revealing the brown bag with he name.
"Gosh darn it! That filly is always forgetting her darn lunch! I swear if her head weren't attached to her body she'd forget that to. Sorry girls I have'ta go." AppleJack said miserably.
"You know if you want I can take the lunch to her." I suggested.
"I don' wanna bother ya' or nothin'."
"I don't have a problem with taking this to Applebloom. Heck I'm more then happy to, besides what's the worst that can happen."
"Well if ya' say so."
"Then it settled. Let me just put down the fire so it can be ready by the time I get back." I exclaimed as I went back to the kitchen.
On my way to the school house I saw ponyville all full of energy. Everypony was going back and forth did what they need to do. They all seemed so busy today.
"Oh man, can't believe it's this hot today. Hope the kids aren't dying in the class room." I spoke out loud to myself.
When I got to the school I noticed that the door was wide open. 'Well at least they're getting some of the cool air in the class.' I thought to myself. I continued to walk toward the school and stopped at the door frame. I saw the entire class sitting at their desk except Applebloom, Scoootaloo, and Sweetiebelle who were standing in front of the class with Ms.Cheerilee standing next to them. 'This can't be good.' I then proceeded to knock while standing in the door frame.
"Oh. Why hello Maxis. How are you today?" Ms.Cheerilee greeted me.
"I'm doing well. How's everything going in here?"
"Everything is going well... or almost everything."
"What's wrong?"
"These three forgot that they were suppose to bring somepony special today." She responded staring at the three fillies.
"So what brings you here? Did Twilight send you to learn something new about our culture?" She asked.
"Uh, no two things actually. The first is this." I lifted the brown bag. I made sure not to show Applebloom's name but everypony automatically turned at Applebloom. 'Wow, AJ wasn't kidding. Guess Applebloom really does forget her lunch a lot.'
"The second is, the girls asked if I could be their special somepony er someone to come to school." I told her obviously that was a lie.
Ms.Cheerilee stopped and looked at the girls then at me. Her face said it all she was not buying it.
"Well if you say they told you then I'll trust you mister." She smiled at me.
Guess it was the girls lucky day. Even though Ms.Cheerilee knew that I was lying she still let me and the girls play it off, she really is the nicest teacher ever. I walked all the way to the front of the class and stood behind the three young fillies and just ready to do what they asked of me.
"Maxis is special in more then one way. Not just because he's the only human here but because he has attributes of all three ponies." Scootaloo explained.
"Magic." Sweetiebelle said as a grey aura surrounded the three fillies and began to float into the air.
"Strength!" Applebloom shouted.
I let the girls down nice and easy so they wouldn't get hurt. After words I went to Ms.cheerilee's desk, and very carefully lifted the desk up. I tried not to let anything fall off or mess things up, everypony was impressed. I then placed the desk down again slowly and carefully.
"He may not be able to fly or be as cool as Rainbow Dash, but he sure is as fast as her! He is also able to control the weather!" Scootaloo yelled to the rest of the class.
I didn't do anything for that one the class was so clustered I wouldn't be able to run and controlling the weather in a class is not a good idea.
"Alright class it's time for a break. You can all go outside but-"
Too late the entire class was gone, they'd moved so fast it would have made the wounderbolts jealous.
"If only they moved that fast when I tell them to bring out their books and study." Ms.Cheerilee sighed.
"Ah don't take it personally they're still just kids. All they can think of is playing and messing around, not taking anything serious."
"I know its just I wish they'd take my class a little more serious."
"Like I said don't worry, I've seen how much they adore you."
"AHHHH!" The children were screaming, both of ran out to see what was causing such a commotion.
We stopped a few steps out of the class room. Another human stood a few yards from the school, or he appeared human. He had some human features I had, though there were somethings that made me think he wasn't close to being human. First was his skin and color of clothes they were different shades of purple, mostly dark. His irises were blood red, and from his body emanated a dark purple smoke. That wasn't the scary part, he held a sword that was dripping from to tip of the blade with fresh blood.
"Are there any students missing." I questioned Ms.Cheerilee.
She quickly gave a head count, "No they're all here."
That was good news, but if the blood didn't belong to the kid then who's blood was it?
"Fight...me..." He spoke out. his tone of speech was bland and he sounded like a new born child learning to speak words for the first time.
"What?"
"Fight...me..." He repeated this time he pointed the blade at me.
"Why? I- I don't know who you are. Beside we'r both human. We can try to help you with what ever is wrong with you." I told him.
"Fight...me..."
I shook my head,"No."
He seemed lost as if no one had every told him no. To him it seem foreign.
"Fight...me..."
"No. I wont fight you. I have nothing against you."
He began to scan the area and with just blinking he was gone.
"What... what was that al-"
"Fight...me..." His voice now came from behind.
Some how he managed to get past both me and Ms.Cheerilee. Worst part, now he was holding a child. The student was a filly who went by the name of Diamond Tiara.
"Let her go." I calmly said taking a few steps into the room.
"Fight...me..."
"Let her go she doesn't have anything to do with this."
"Fight...me..."
"Fine! I'll fight! Just let her go. please..."
He slowly placed her on the ground. She ran toward me, her expression said it all she was frighten to death.
"You're not hurt are you?" I asked. She shook her head.
"Good. Now go to Ms.Cheerilee and the others. I have something to do." With that she ran out the door.
"Keep everyone away from the school building." I told Ms.Cheerilee.
I closed the door so no one would be able to see what ever happened. They were too young to see any violence. He placed his blade on the teacher's desk. He walked to me and stopped 2 maybe 3 feet from me. He went on one knee and bowed. Out from the ground more smoke came out lifting up a sword.
"Draco's...sword..."
Why does my head hurt hearing that name? That name, Draco... it's so familiar. My body began to reach for the blade for an odd reason it's as if I was drawn to it. Once I grabbed it, he immediately jumped back to the desk and grabbed his sword. He wasted no time and attacked me head on. I quickly pulled the blade out of it's sheath in order to block his first strike.
His blade connected with mine. He was strong, stronger then he would appear. He kept on the attack not allowing me to retaliate. For every hit he landed on my blade it forced me to take a step back. On one of the steps back I tripped on one of the kids desk knocking me down toward the ground my back against the wall. He jabbed his blade right into my right shoulder. The burning pain of the blade piercing my shoulder bone was unbearable, I screamed out in pain. And from the screams coming from outside, I could only assume that the blade went right through the wall as well.
'Great. I'm as good as dead. There is no way I can continue this fight without my right arm.' I closed my eyes as my final thoughts went by. I was sure that I would be dead in just a few seconds. Then I heard two blades clash, I opened my eyes but only darkness was there. The blades clashed again and a small spark lit up allowing me to temporally see. The blades continued to clash as the sparks began to reveal to me the fight. Soon the final spark lit up causing my vision to completely come back. I stood on something that allowed me to have higher ground, so that my blade would be coming down from above him. I had no idea why I was still able to fight with out my right arm... or at least why I was I still able to move that arm. He held his ground and I continued to put down force down upon him.
"I...concede..." He spoke up slashing away my blade, then jumping back a few feet.
"What?" I questioned.
"Concede..."
I couldn't tell why he went and got into a fight with me and just give up, just like that.
"Father...pass..."
"What did you just say?" I looked at him unable to fully comprehend what was going on.
He then slowly turned into the exact purple smoke that followed off him. Soon the the class of filled with that gas. It didn't appear toxic, or it just could be I haven't inhale enough to kill me. I started for the door but when I reached for the door nob, a strong gust blow me right out of the door. My body twisted and turned as I hit the ground. I lifted my head with every ounce of my strength just to see the school burning. My vision began to blur, my body grew heavy, sound became muffled and hard to comprehend. I saw a group of ponies running toward me, but I just couldn't keep myself awake. I finally collapsed unable to move and slowly fell into darkness once again.
The Guardian Of Equestria
I felt someone grab my shoulder and began to shake me lightly. I slowly opened my eyes.
"Is it time for us to move?" I asked.
A man in his late 30's early 40's with a black tux stared at me. He had unreasonably long white hair for a man, that went past his ears which was combed back. He had yellow irises as well, his eyes were calm and collected, yet wild with the look of insanity as well. I began to look around, 'That's right I fell asleep in the forest, he told me to rest up before we strike.'
"It is time. We shall not let their army reach the city." He told me.
I stood up from the tree that I was leaning against and pick up my blade. My blade was black with a red edge, like a samurai's blade. The blade's sheath was black as well. The man held a cane in one of his hands, black with a gold flat bottom and a gold sphere on the top of it. We began to walk toward some smoke that we saw coming deep with in the forest. We walked a good 20 minutes before saying anything.
"I do not understand why the mistresses would send us this far from our post." I told him.
"I am sure they had a reasonable reason for doing so. It is not like our mistress Cellestia would do something like this with out reason or logic." He told me.
"Need I remind yo,. Cellestia is your mistress Gallus. My mistress is and will always be Luna. She just told me to go with you because she thought it would make her older sister happy."
"I see." He spoke pondering this thought for a moment.
I did not understand why that interested him. Gallus was always an odd one at times, but there is always logic in his madness. As we got closer to the smoke we began to hear voices. We'd finally reached the enemy's camp , the dragon's camp. I was glad that we had reached it. I couldn't bare that I was gone from my post for so long. The longer I was gone the more time they had to get to my mistress. What if they were on the attack right now. My mistress would have nothing but lowly guards protecting her. I got ready to fight, placing my hand on the blade's handle. That's when I felt Gallus placing his hand on my shoulder.
"Do not rush this. You must think reasonable, one false move may cause us to stay away from our post even longer."
The nerve he had to give me orders! I wanted to turn around and slice through him! But, he had a point. If I rushed and screwed up, this would take much longer then it would be necessary. Leaving Luna to those normal guards did not please me. If I want to return to her I must do this right.
"What is your plan then?"
He stopped and thought for a second, "I say you go left and you go right to scan the area, then when we meet up we fall back and exchange Intel. From there we can make our move."
His plan will cost a lot of time, but if we do this right I can be with Luna by the following morning.
"Agreed."
We went around the camp and as I did I saw watch towers, six to be exact, heavily armed with long bows. Followed with the mess tent. In the mess of all the other tents there was one tent that caught my attention. A bright red tent that had guards surrounding it, all highly armed with to their teeth. Once I had made my way around all the way to Gallus we fell back and made a plan.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes! I am most certain that our target is in that tent Gallus. Once night falls we we can sneak in and be done with it. We will be able to go home." I grinned though I know he wasn't to happy with my idea.
"Maxis."
"No! I know what you're gonna say. 'We need another plan.' No! We are not making another-"
"That's fine with me."
...
"What?"
"That's fine with me. All I was going to tell you that we had to be careful of the guards. Oh and not to be shot by the log bows of course."
I stared at him, I did not believe that he would except my plan so easily.
"Rest-up Maxis. We must be at our fullest if we wish be home by tomorrow after noon."
My eyes widened with joy, to think I would get an approval by him. I will not let him down nor will I let my mistress be a lone any longer then this.
When night finally fell on this land we began to move in for the kill. we came from behind the tent so we would not be seen, but there were more guards now then at day, which was to be expected. There were two guards close to us, I went for the one closest to me. I pulled my blade out and got closer and closer to him. When he finally turned his back on me completely, I plunged my blade into his throat not allowing him to call for help. I lead his body down to the ground slowly. I turned to see the other gaurd only to find him on the ground with his head on backwards. Gallus sure made quick work of him. We did this pattern twice before a third dragon walked and found me out. I had to act quick so I allowed my blade to pierce through his head from the bottom of his jaw going up right into his brain.
"You must be careful. We don't want our cover blown so early now."
"I know. I won't let my guard down again."
We continued to go forward until we finally ran into five guards, not the best of things when there are only two of you. Galuss move swift and removed one bone from three of the guards spine. As for me I cut the heads of the other two, allowing them to roll on the ground before moving on.
"We are so close to the entrance. How will we get rid of the two guards standing in front?" I questioned.
"We shall take their heads and move in for the kill. I am sure that there are guards on the inside as well so we must be quick about it."
So we did. We moved quick, I cut the head off, and he removed it with his hands. We then rushed in, once again I cut through the dragons head with ease allowing his blood to spew out as Gallus punch a hole into the dragons chest and pulling the heart right out. He then dashed to our target and with ease removed the head before he could yell for help. I ran to him with joy, we'd finally be able to go back to our post, to our mistresses.
"Maxis!" Gallus shouted as a cold metallic rod impaled me from behide. The dragon he had pulled the heart from managed to lift his spear and impale me before collapsing onto the ground. The spear had gone through me my chest, my blood slowly dripping from the tip as I watched in shock. I looked up at Gallus, no, not Gallus but my brother. He to was paralyzed from shock. My legs gave up allowing me to fall and hitting the ground laying on my left side as the blood continued to leave my body. I could hear his panic. He spoke to me but the he words that came out were so soft that I could not understand.
My eyes closed and opened once again, but I was no longer where ever I once was instead I now laid in a bed. The sound of a machine beeping came to my ears. My arms had needles and wires pumping blood and other liquids into my body. I turned to my right to see Twilight and her friends stand there with concern looks.

I opened my eyes to find wires and cords attached to my body, the sound of an even beeping of a machine, and the looks of my friends at my bed side.
"Are you ok? You seemed to have been having a nightmare." Twilight asked with concern.
A nightmare? What could I have been dreaming of?
"Yeah I'm ok."
"That's good to hear. We were frighten when we saw you get wheeled in on a stretcher. What happened?"
"Wait , when you saw me get- Hold on why were you here in the first place?"
"We were here because Spike needed to get his stomach pumped, he ate to many of Pinkie's cupcakes."
'Ha. Dragon stomachs are much stronger then human's or ponies.' I smiled at my thought.
As though on cue Spike and a doctor walked in. Spike was green in the face, but I could only assume that it was from him getting his stomach pumped.
"My. You certainly look better then when you arrived. Actually you don't seem to have any damage that you once had." He gave me a questioning look.
He then walked up to me and began to examine me.
"That's incredible. You were brought here with burns and slash marks. But now, now you don't have any sign of them. Has this ever happened before?" The doctor asked raising an eyebrow.
"N-no. I've never gotten hurt like this before. I mean there was that one time that I sprained my ankle, but that took weeks before healing."
"That sure is fascinating." He told me before walking out of the room and telling me I was free to leave.
After filling out my release paper work. We went on our way back to Twilight's home. The sun was now setting on us, I also filled in the girls on what had happened or at least the bits I could remember.
"My! What a horrific experience!" Rarity clamored.
On our way to Twilight's we passed the school, most of it was burned to the ground. I stood in front of the school, that human was looking for me. He was was willing to try and harm a student just to get me. His blade was already stained with blood. What would have happened to the foals that were there if I wasn't there to be the target would they fall victim like the poor soul that met him first?
"You alright?" AppleJack asked.
"Where's Applebloom and her friends?"
"After you were drop off at the hospital. They went back to tha farm, said something about a sword."
"What?"
I looked at them waiting for it to finally dawn onto them what words had come out of her mouth. We soon rushed to the farm, who knew what problems or harm they might cause with a sword. We were in a panic when we got to the farm. We ran around and searched for them. Where in the world could they be? All I hoped for was that they didn't harm any pony or themselves. I entered the big barn that they had and at the very back were stacks of hay were saw a small pink and purple tail. I slowly crept up to it. I tried to brace myself for the worst.
"Sweetiebelle?" No reply. "Sweetiebelle you alright?" Once again no reply. I peeked around the corner of the hay to see her clenching the sword in her hoofs.
I picked her up with relief.
"Oh thank goodness. I thought you might have been hurt." I hugged her with joy and relief.
"Maxis!?" She squeaked dropping the sword then hugging me back. "Oh I thought we'd never see you again!" She cried out as tears began to form.
"Where are the other girls?"
"They're out on patrol making sure that no one would try to take your sword." She explained to me as tears now ran down her face.
"I don't care about that sword. All I care about is that you three aren't hurt or getting your selves in trouble. Now let's go look for the others so we can talk."
Sweetiebelle and I went and got Scootaloo, who was not that far from the barn. As for Applebloom, she was out doing laps around the farm trying to find any intruders. Once the three were gathered we met up with the rest of our search party. We went to the Apple house living room, Rarity and Applejack were both relieved and filled with joy to see that no one was hurt, but they weren't happy to see that they were protecting a sword. The Cutie Mark Crusaders Stood in the middle of the room as the black and red blade laid in front of them out of its sheath. I truly felt sorry for the fillies they had gone through so much today, the fight with the other human that causes their school to burn, the fear of losing a friend,and now they're going to be yelled at by their sisters. This was not a good day for them.
"Now why in tar nation would you keep and pertect such a dangerous thing?" Applejack questioned them.
"Because its what Maxis used to protect us when that other human showed up." Sweetiebelle explained.
"Cause if that human ever showed up again Maxis could just use it again ta defeat him." Applebloom added.
"It the sword of a hero!" Scootaloo finished off.
"Now girls. I'm not going to get into anymore fights with that human. Or at least not for a while." I told them.
"How'da you know that?" AJ questioned.
I had told them some parts of the story that I remembered but there were some parts that I left out just because I was still trying to make sense out of it. Guess now would be were I'd tell them the parts I did leave out.
"When we were fighting he said odd things. Some even made my head hurt... Just before we began to fight, he gave me that sword and said that it belonged to someone named Draco. I know that name. I know I've heard it some where but I can't remember where. Then he surrendered the fight. Said that 'Father passed.'. what ever that meant." I looked down at the ground with sorrow, trying to figure out the name and what he had said. "You don't think that I'm. Could it be that I'm a dad and not know?" I asked looking at everyone in the room.
No pony said a word. I don't blame them, with what I just said what would they say. 'Oh you could be. No you're not.' I mean seriously what was I expecting them to tell me.
"It'll be ok Maxis. Even if he is your son." Twilight encouraged.
At that moment someone began to knock on the door. No one moved at all. I went to answer the door for who ever was behind it. It was Derpy the mailmare.
"Here you go it's for you Mr.Maxis." she pulled a small brown box the size of a box that could hold a proposing ring.
"Thanks Derpy."
For someone that was called Derpy she wasn't such a derp at finding ponies or humans. She would be a great detective, solving unknown mysteries.
Once the box was in my hands she went her way, to deliver her next package. I went back into the living room with the small box in my hand.
"What's that?" Rainbow asked staring at the box.
"I have no idea. I think I'll go home and rest its been a long day for all of us. We can talk more about this tomorrow." I claimed as I went to pick up the sword on the ground. They walked me to the door, from there we said our goodbyes and went our ways.
My home was on the outskirts of ponyville, close to the Everfree forest. No not close by Fluttershy either, but around the same premise. I opened the door to my house and walked in. My house wasn't that cool or big for that matter, even if it has two floors. On the left was the living room and a bit behind that was the kitchen. Above the kitchen was my room. To the right of the entrance was a small closet that held cleaning supplies. On the top of the stairs a little to to the left of it was a bathroom. On the right of the top of the stair case was a guest room. I rarely ever had guest so for the most part it was just an empty room. The only ponies that ever stopped and stayed the night was the CMC. I went straight to my room so I could get some sleep. I sat on my bed with the small box in my hands 'what in the world could it be' I thought to myself.
I began to unwrap the box to find an odd coin. On one side of it it had a pegasus, unicorn, and earth pony with arrows pointing from one to next one, making a circle. On the other side had a face of a human, one of which I thought I knew. I placed the coin on top of a night stand that stood next to my bed along side with the sword that I had brought for Apple Acres.
"Weirdest day ever."
With that I laid down in my bed and closed my eyes to go to sleep. When I finally woke up, surprised that I had no dreams or anything strange. It was nice, not dealing with the bullshit strange things that happened since yesterday.
I got out of bed still partly asleep. I walked out of my room went to the bathroom. I splashed some water onto my face and got a good look in the mirror that was in front of the sink. There was a refection of a grey unicorn with a black mane with the tip of his mane white. He had a grey eyes, but who was this unicorn and how'd he get in? I turned but no one was there. I looked back at the mirror.
"Well that's odd." His mouth moved to my words. My eyes darted wide open, so did his.
"No no no no! Tell me I'm not a-" My words stopped there. Soon I ran to the front door only to see a flash of white light and running into somepony. My vision had become obscured, but I was still able to make out two pegasi and a unicorn or maybe a third pegasus... No, not unicorn or pegasus but an alicorn. A purple one at that which meant I had crashed into Twilight.
"You got some nerve teleporting in here when its closed and then running into my friend!"
The voice that I heard came from RD I know that voice and tone all too well. The second pegasus was a light yellow and pink that now spoke to me in a soothing hushed tone, asking if I was ok. Fluttershy for sure. Know I knew the three that were in here but I still couldn't see them clearly.
"Oh am I glad to hear your voices. Look you not going to believe me but I got changed into a unicorn and I have no idea how this happened." I told them.
"Woah! Woah! You're asking for our help after you crashed into my friend and pooffed in here when the library is closed! Then you talk about not being a Unicorn when you obviously are!" Rainbow Dash argued.
"Rainbow Dash. If he needs our help we should at least try to listen to him. Now what do you mean you don't know how you became a unicorn? Were you not one before? If not what were you?" Twilight ask ed me asked me as she stood up.
"Really? You don't recognize my voice?" I looked at them puzzled.
"Maxis." A timid voice cried. The pegasus that I assumed to be Fluttershy gently hovered down to me and stood in front, at that moment my eyes became clear.
A smile grew on my face as I now saw them clear as day now. I hugged her so fast that she was taken by surprise.
"Yes! Thank you! I knew at least you would figure out who I was!" I shouted with joy.
Twilight and Rainbow Dash just stared at me. Once I let go I turned and looked at them, waiting for them to give me a reaction.
"Maxis!" They both yelled.
"How, how did this happen?" Twilight asked walking around me.
"I have no idea. I just woke up like this."
"Did you do anything strange happen after you left last night?"
"No. All I did was open the box I got. Well there was that strange coin that was in it, but how could this have happened?"
"Strange coin?" Twilight repeated before leaving the room we were in.
When she returned to the room she held a coin with her magic. 'There is no way that she could have the coin I got last night. Besides I literally just got here from my home by magic. There is no way, no how- that's the coin I left on the counter...'
"How did?" I stopped I couldn't comprehend how she managed to get my coin so fast.
"It appeared earlier today on one of new books this morning."
"But-but...oh never mind."
"You know, your cutie mark is almost the same thing as one side of the coin. The three types of ponies, one arrow point to the next pony. The only difference is that instead of an empty spot in between them, there's a question mark." She explained.
I quickly looked at my flank. She was telling the truth. I was a unicorn with the cutie mark of the three types of ponies that had arrows point one to the next one. Now the only new question was, what in the heck is my talent? For half an hour or so we began to look for any book that might help us figure out what happened to me. Unfortunately no luck what so ever.
"How can there nothing about this coin here." Twilight questioned.
"Maybe somepony else might know something about it." I suggested.
"Ok, but who?"
There was a slight pause before we figured out someone that might know about things we've never seen before. She was just the pony, or zebra to ask.
A few minutes later we found our selves at Zecora's place. We knocked to see if she was home. There was no answer, so we tried and again, still no answer.
"Maybe we should go home and try again tomorrow." I suggested.
We turned around ready to leave when suddenly the door opened.
"Why if isn't Twilight Sparkle and her friends, what is this a new one shall attend." Zecora asked staring at me.
"N-no. It me Maxis."
"Maxis my dear, this is the strangest thing this year. Come on in and sit around, I take it this is the reason you stop on bound."
So we did we went inside and explained everything, about that odd little coin.
"Hmhm a strange coin you say, show it to me it'd be better that way."
Twilight pulled the coin out and gave it to Zecora. She stopped and stared at it for a while before she began to laugh.
"This coin is but a relic, but the effects is how you say 'quite epic'. "
"So it turns humans into ponies."
"Yes and no, for there's a story you must know. There was a man, who was from a clan. He was nice to my tribe, and there relation had a good vibe. The man would soon die, which meant my tribe would surely cry. But before he die he fell in love, to impress the mare as a pegasus he past the clouds far above. As a earth pony he ran across the land, for a special flower brand."
"Like cooking flower?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"No. I think she means as plant wise. Like roses are special during hearts and hooves day. But he's looking for a flower that is special for weddings." I corrected, Zecora nodded in agreement.
"Yes in deed, and as a unicorn he did plead. But soon a war begone, soon he left for he knew what needed to be done. When his battle won, he came back and was very stun. For wedding bells rang so loud, the entire tribe was oh so proud. By the end of the night, their family grew with delight."
"But two days later an enemy that he spared in his fight came back and took his life. The tribe killed the enemy but couldn't save his life. In the end he said he would come back to see his family, but he never did. So ever pony began to use the coin to turn themselves human to see what it was like. They felt the last emotions that he felt. Love..." I didn't know how I knew the story but it sounded so familiar to me. Like a night time story a mother would read to their child. I thought made me sad as if I once knew this person. That's when I noticed that everyone was looking at me.
"Have you heard this story before?" Twilight asked.
"I don't know it feels familiar. I don't know maybe I read it in a book over at the Cantorlot castle, or over at the crystal empire." I replied, though my answer didn't feel right at all.
I looked around me to see there faces. They all look worried about me, but why. I mean I'm fine, other then that I'm a unicorn now, but I'm fine.
"Zecora can I stay here for a day or two. That way I can learn more about this coin. If that's ok with you that is."
To it's fine, I will not wine." She replied.
"Thanks. Will you tell the others I won't see them until then." I turned and looked at Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy.
""Yeah... sure. We'll tell them. I guess we'll see you in a day or two." Twilight agreed as they all left the Zecora's house.
I turned back to Zecora, "Well guess now's the time to ask. Any idea why I might know a story from your homeland even though stories are told not written?"

"Even in that sate you are human yes, ancient blood lines would be my best guess."
"So you think that I'm related to the human in the story."
"It could be, check your heart and you tell me." Zecora said .
I stopped and began to think about that. It felt somewhat true, but also wrong. Like if I knew that person, but one thing was for sure though, I was not related to him.
"I'm not related to him, not by blood. No full human has ever had blood relations with another human. Yet we have brothers and sisters, none of which have blood relation to other other one."
"For someone with no past, your memories do quite last. For in the tribe they say, no human with the same blood could stay."
"Ok I normally get what you're trying to say but this time, I have no clue. I mean what does, 'no human with the same blood could stay.' "
"Think about it, then tell me in a bit." She answered before turning around and gathering herbs as she then proceeded to mix things into a brew.
"No human with the same blood could stay. Mhmhm they could have forced them out the tribe but that wouldn't make much sense would it. Why force someone to leave is the actual question if it was forced. No no force just doesn't add up. They could have left by choice, but why?"
" You think they are well and a live, when you should think the opposite of thrive."
"The opposite of thrive... So very little of them and struggling to survive. That still doesn't add up."
"The site of one another was a bother, so the life they took of one another."
"Why? Why would they kill each other?"
Zecora didn't respond instead She paused for a moment then continued to mix the herbs around.
"So what are you cooking up in that brew of yours?"
"This brew, is just a simple stew."
"Need help with that?"
"Yes in deed, go into ever free get me a blue flower that I need."
"Alright I'll be back in a bit." I finished off before leaving her home.
It was quite the odd thing I felt so at home in Everfree. As for the blue flower, poison joke, that funny flower. The CMC got me once with that. Little bugger's. Though I had quite the laugh when I figured out what was going on. That simple flower turned me into a wolf, why I have no idea. So this time around I'm going to make sure that I don't physically touch that darn flower. I don't want to be some pony's pet again...
I found that pesky poison joke close to a small lake that was surrounded by tress that had moss hanging down from their branches. Even in Everfree there is something beautiful in Equestria. The sun shined down from the from the canopies of the trees that made the reflected from the lake that made it seem almost crystal like. I wanted to have more time to stop and look at the area some more but I knew that I had to get back to Zecora. "Oh well maybe next time."
Managed to get back to Zecora's hut.
"Hey I got the poison joke you wanted." I called out to her as I walked in through the door holding the poison joke with my magic.
"Thank you so much, though I was hoping for a bunch."
I slowly stopped and looked at the three flowers I had picked.
"Heh heh sorry about that. I didn't think you'd need so much see how its a plant that enjoys messing with you. Be sides what does poison joke have to do with making a stew?"
"A simple stew it is not, the poison joke hits the spot."
"What?"
"Memories are sad lose, but they should this should help after a quick snooze."
"...so let me get this straight this should help me get my memories after I take a nap."
Zecora nodded as she took the poison joke and dropped it into the pot. She began to stir it for a while, then she gave me a bowl full of it and told me drink it all. Which I did I wasn't just gonna let an opportunity to regain my memory pass by without trying. So I drank it all up and knocked out completely. When I woke up I didn't feel any different at all, no memories no nothing.
"I see you slept well, and by the look you have something to tell."
"I don't feel any different."
Zecora just stared at me, "Do you not recall your past? Was my brew wrong at last?"
"No. It could be the lack of poison joke. Maybe even something else, but you being wrong about a remedy. Not possible."
Zecora gave a smile before turning around which oddly enough I couldn't help but stare at her flank. "The hell is wrong with you?" I murmured to myself. Later that night after Zecora fell a sleep I couldn't stop thinking about that flank of hers for some stupid reason. "Ah! What is wrong with you today? Seriously. You've been around flanks for an entire year. Why is it that you take interest now?"
After a few seconds later I fell a sleep. Woke up to Zecora's flank shaking right in front of me.
"Maxis."
I turned to the right and saw some pony else.
"Oh hi Luna.... Luna!"
"What is the meaning of all this?"
"I- I- I don't know ask-... This is my dream isn't it?"
"Yes. Quite odd for someone like yourself to focus on some pony's flank."
"I don't know its just been odd for me the past few days. Plus this stupid coin turned me into a unicorn."
Luna's face grew sad, "Did thou not like my gift?"

"Gift?"I questioned raising an eyebrow.
"Yes the coin."
"Wait you sent the coin?"
"Yes I found it in some old things of mine and thought it would help you regain your memories."
"I see. How did you get- ok! Is there any way I can make her stop shaking her flank !"
"Plot. And you just have to wave your hoof in front of you."
"Wait plot?"
"Yes plot. Not flank. There is quite the difference."
"Huh. I've been saying flank all this time." I then waved my hoof causing the Zecora figure to turn into gray smoke.
"Ok back to- where are we?" I questioned as I now found myself standing in a new bedroom. This was a huge bedroom at that. It was dark but oddly lit good enough by moon light to be able to see. The floor was black marble, which had small white specks that almost seemed like stars. To the left of the bed was a balcony that looked over who knows what was out side. There were dressers and shelves as well at some ends of the room. The room also had giant stone pillars that almost seemed to be the only reason that the room was held up by. In across from the bed was two big doors that had these black metal handle bars, making the bed the first thing you see as you walk in. On the bed the covers were a dark blue color like Luna's coat. The bed also had these thin see through curtains that were like Luna's mane.
"This place looks familiar..." I noted. Which made Luna give a big smile. I didn't like it at all, something about this room gave me an uneasy feeling as if something bad that I regretted happened here. I tried to shake the feeling but no such luck. Luna was happy to know I recognized this place, there has to be some happy and special moments. I placed a small smile on my face and tried to act as if I remembered something happy here, for Luna's sake.
"You seem to know more about me then your leading on. So why don't you tell me what's going on, why I can't remember anything and why you know so much about me?"
"Me and my dear sister know you quite well actually. As for what is going on, those are the side effects of the magic you use, the soup, and the coin all mixed. It should not last that long. It is only for a while that you be looking at flanks and plots. I thought it might be better to change somethings about you for your own good."
"What do you mean?"
"Your dream at your party was right but I was not allowed to tell you that, not there. You had a cold stone heart back then, always putting your job over everything else. I thought I might change that, make it possible for you to fall in love. When you find that perfect somepony you won't be turning them down this time." Luna explained.
"That would explain the plot fetish." I joked causing Luna to giggle.
"So why take my memories was I that bad of a person?"
"Neigh. You were a great person, one that I looked up to. Though I would imagine that living the way you did back then could be quite lonesome. That is why I felt it was best to change that small part of you. That is why I asked Zecora to help me. As for why you don't have memories, that is all because of Gallus."
"Who?"
Luna's face saddened, "It makes me sad to know that you don't even remember your own brother. Gallus is responsible for you begin here."
My eyes widened could the man I fought have been my brother?
"Luna listen to me how does my brother look like? Does he have this purple color to him. A strange purple smoke around him?"
"No. That is nothing like your brother. Who in Equestria are you describing?"
T"There was a human I fought that looked like that."
"That's impossible you and Gallus are the only human in exists right now."
I told Luna everything not a single detail was left out this time. By the end of it all she seemed calm and collected.
"I see. I must tell my sister at once."
"Wait!"
Luna stopped in her tracks.
"I don't think he'll attack anyone else he seems interested in me. Beside it probably won't be for a good while."
"Good. That gives you time to move to Cantorlot." She proclaimed.
"What? I'm not going any where I'm staying in Ponyville."
"You do not speak that way to your mistress. You shall obey my orders!" Luna shouted, her eyes glowing bright white. The sound of her enraged voice shook the entire room, causing the floor to break allowing even more bright white light into the room.
My heart fill itself with sadness and anger, "Luna I am not your servant, I am your friends and if you can't see that then just leave my head!"
Luna slammed her hooves on the ground breaking the ground and allowing even more light into room. I shut my eyes and found myself waking up to morning's light. I walked around the Zecora's home to find that I was the only one there. 'Guess Zecora knew Luna would explain everything.'
While walking around I find a blank sheet of paper and a quill, and began to write a small note for Zecora.

That was quite the trick you and Luna had. Thanks for the help either way though.
I'm heading back to Ponyville. I'm sure that the rest of the group will be happy to see me.

I then left the note somewhere noticeable, so she could find and read it and not worry about my disappearing act. From there I went back into town. When I got there I had the urge to walk around as if I was new in town. After a while I decided to go to one spot in particular, the school.
I sat down in front of it staring at the burned remains of the school house just thinking, 'what if?'... What if I wasn't here?, what if I failed to protect them?, what if I was too weak?
"That use to be the school in this town." A feminine voice spoke up from behind me. It was Ms.Cheerilee, she walked up and sat right next to me. "They're going to rebuild it. I know you're probably asking why it's burn down. Well there was an accident. It would have been worse if it wasn't for someone."
I knew what had happened, and from the looks of it she didn't know it was me. Curiosity got the better of me, I wanted to know what her thoughts were about this unfortunate event was.
"Who was this someone?"
"He... he is an odd creature. One who wasn't liked by many when he first arrived, even know someponies don't like him. Some think he's a danger to us because we knew nothing about him. Everyone thought he would hurt us, but over time he grew on most of us and gain our trust, especially with this incident. He raised the bar for stallions and made quite the impression on mares as we'll."
"What do you think of him?"
"Me? I think he's a young, smart, sweet, reliable, and trusting even if he did lie to me. It was a small white lie though. He was helping some of my students out."
"What's his name?"
"Maxis. He's sweet and all but I feel bad. He's going to live a lonely life style. He doesn't seem to care about looking for that special somepony. I worry about him."
"Then why don't you ask him out."
"No I can't he's just a friend. Besides I'm too old for him."
"Nonsense. You don't look any older then 20."
"Stop, you're making me blush."
"I'm serious you don't look that old." I what I said was true I meant every word. She didn't look old at all. She would be a perfect wife to some stallion one of these days. Now what she said had caught my attention, she sounded just like Luna.
She stared at me for a while, "What's your name? You're definitely not from here."
'Crap think fast Maxis, think fast. What would be a good fake name?'
"Shadow End." That name somewhat felt right, but I knew that I would have to change it later if I am to change into a pony again."
"Hello Shadow End. I'm Cheerilee pleased to meet you." She introduced herself.
"So tell me what brought you to Ponyville?"
"Nothing really. I just happen to be passing by thought I'd visit a friend who lives here."
"Who?"
"Her name is Twilight Sparkle. I haven't seen her in almost a year." I know that lie to her again isn't good but I had to make it believable. So she thinks I don't know about Twilight being an Alicorn.
"Hehe you'll be surprised by all she through."
"What do you mean?"
"Oh nothing." She giggled.
"I have to admit this is quite a nice and peaceful."
"Yes. Most of the time." She agreed before staring at the burned remains of the school. I never really noticed how important the school was to her and the town.
"I caused all this..." I mumbled.
"What was that?"
"Nothing. Excuse me I need to go."
"Wait...how long are you going to stay?"
I thought and thought about it for a few seconds before answering her question.
"If you want we can meet up at Sugar Cube Corner tomorrow around three, after that I think I'll keep moving on."
She smiled, "I'd more than be happy to see you tomorrow at three."
With that I stood up and walked on to Twilights home. Once there I opened the door to a small dragon sweeping the floor.
"Welcome to the library." He greeted.
Hoof steps came from up stairs as Twilight came out and greeted me.
"Hello welcome to- Maxis!? What are you doing here? I thought you would still be at Zecora's until tomorrow."
"Well that was the idea, but some things happened and well. I'll fill you in."
"Maxis? Ok he clearly is a unicorn, not a human." Spike cut in.
I looked at Twilight with a puzzled look.
"Didn't you tell them?"
"I told you'd be staying at Zecora's. I thought it would be better if you told or, ah showers them, this."
"Alright I guess that's reasonable enough."
I then filled in Spike as we went up stairs with Twilight so I could fill her in with what had happened last night. Though I didn't tell her about ms. Cheerilee.
"Well that sure seems like a lot to take in for one night."
"Yeah. Hey think you can send a letter to Celestia telling her to make sure Luna doesn't go all nuts about taking me back?"
"Sure."
"Wait how old are you?" Spike questioned.
I shrugged, "No clue. Not yet anyways."
"Shadow End. I thought I'd find you here." A voice announced from downstairs.
"Ms.Cheerilee."
"Shadow End?" Twilight muttered to me.
"Ah tell you about that later."
"Twilight here is one of the books you lent us." She pulled a book and placed it on top of a table, "it's one of the few that made it out unscathed."
The book caught my attention. It was called Fallen Angel, the cover was of a human like creature with giant bird wings being dragged down by black chains as he reached for a city on top of some clouds. The city was fenced off by giant gold fence with tall towers and and a golden shine that came from the city. The name rang a couple of bells but it didn't seem too important.
I caught myself saying, "That's not how it looks."
"Excuse me?" Cheerilee questioned.
"The city, Fallen Angel, it doesn't look like that."
"So you've read the book. Almost everyone thinks that the creature is the fallen angel."
I caught what I had said, but it looked like no one else did.
"No. I've only heard things about it."
"The creature is called a human. This book was out way before Maxis ever showed up, but after he did he this book became really popular."
"How you'd even learn about this book."
"My friend Lyra. She is a really big human fanatic."
"Right."
"Oh why doesn't I show you around town."
"Ah no I-"
"Oh come on Shadow End. Let her show you around town."
I turned to see Twilight with a grin on her face that told me, this is pay back for prank week. Which made me laugh out loud causing both mares and dragon to just stare at me. To think that little old Twilight would get me back when I am in the up most uncomfortable situation. I never thought that ol' little Twilight would get me back.
"Ok *gasp* ok *gasp* I'll I'll go around town just done me a favor will yeah. Send my message and is it fine if I stay here for the night?"
Twilight just gave me a look, as if saying what happened to your place?
"Yeah. It's fine just don't be out so late ok."
I smirk as I went down stairs to ms.Cheerilee.
"Yes mother! I promise to be back home before dinner!"
Cheerilee laughed and with that we both walked out of the library and went out around town. Soon after going around re-meeting some ponies I began to notice some things that got me upset. They were a hole lot nicer to me as a pony then when I first arrived as a human. Though it got under my skin and at some point I felt like telling them it was me. Though for my sake I didn't tell them.
We had actually spent the entire day with each other. By their end of the day as the sun began to set we found our selves at the top of a hill close to a cliff right under a small tree.
"Today was a lovely day." Cheerilee sighed.
"Yeah. It most definitely was."
As the sun continued to go down I noticed a small flower at the edge of the cliff. For some odd reason I felt like picking that for her. I stood up and began to walk over to it.
"Shadow. Where are- oh be careful!"
"Oh don't worry about me. I won't get too close to the edge."
I got a few 5 feet away from it when I decided to try and use my magic to pick the flower, but it didn't work so I got closer and closer. Then finally I got the flower.
"See nothing bad happened." I told Cheerilee. Her smile brought a nice warm feeling that I've never felt before.
*crack* "The hell?" I looked down I was all the way to the edge of the cliff. How did I not notice this?
*CRACK* The ground below me completely broke sending me free falling down. The last thing I saw was me about to hit the ground. Then absolute darkness.
