on new wings

unbeknownst to them as they lay to go to sleep there was a figure watching them they had a faint smile on there face they say.

good night my child for u will need it soon. the figure spreads previously unseen wings a fly's away

i wake to the sound of my stomach giving a loud rumble i say out loud

OK OK im up .say looking around

hey were did ruby go.i got my answer by a slight stomping from the back of the cave

well look whose up i went and got us some breakfast .she said depositing a pile of gems between us

gems?. say skeptically

yeah were dragons we eat gemstones. she said

i just raised a eye ridge

we do.said curiously

yeah we do wait if u never had them before what did u eat.she said in a quizzical tone

meat. say

meat.she repeats

yeah it not bad this is better though. i said popping one of the ruby's in in my mouth

hay this taste like raspberries. i thought

well i guess to each there own. she said

we spent the next  twenty minutes eating in silence until i broke the silence with a question

so from what u said yesterday are there any other kind of dragons u don't have to answer if u don't wont to.i said waiting for a answer.

my question seemed to unsettle her a little but she still answered

as far as i know there are three kinds of dragon there your kind with wings are the most common and are mostly mean and cruel but there are exceptions like your self were there nice and then there are the water dragons or serpents as the ponies call them that generally there nice and usually stay live in large lakes rivers and oceans and then there are magic dragons like me we are almost always nice and like are name say were more magical then dragons like u and for what ever reason they really don't like us to the point were they generally attack us on sight and were near extinction that's why i was so scared of u  when u found me.she said concluding her little lesson

i still  don't think that right. said in  a slightly miffed tone

well that just the way it is. she said finishing the rest of our break fast

so what do we do now. i said

well we cant stay here it took me nearly 4 hours just to gather that and its not enough to support 1 adult dragon let alone two

so i suggest we find a new cave.ruby stated

ok that makes sense so where do we start.i said tapping a claw on my chin

well it needs to be some place where were pretty sure that their are no other dragons for territorial reasons and seems to be rich in gems.she said crossing here arms in thought

oh i think i know some place where we can check when i was on my way over the forest a saw a mountain in the distance i still remember the way.i said

well its someplace to start.ruby said

and with that we left with me leading the way

after about 4 hours of walking we stopped to take a break it was near were i woke i could still seen the scorch mark on the ground

i went to get a drink of water when she asked me a question she asked

u can fly so why do u stay on the ground with me. she questioned

i don't fly because it wouldn't be fair to u because u would have to walk the entire way when i could get there in much faster and plus   i don't know what to look for..i said

well that makes sense but u should at least fly around some on the way your not meant to walk for long periods of time.she said with what i think was a worried look in her eyes

ok guess that makes sense well any ways we should get going.i said while giving my wings a few test flaps

i give her a are u sure look she nods and i take off

after about 30 minutes of this i get a idea slowly descending so im within arms reach i hook my arms securely  under her and with a few flaps were in the sky

she give a quick yelp saying. hey what are u doing .covering her eyes

i bend my neck down and say. look at this view its spectacular.in a calm gentle voice

she opens her eyes and all i hear is wow while where flying over what can best be described as a sea of grass with a mountain at the end
