While chasing down Scourge with the Chaos Emeralds, both get thrown into the human world by accident. Stranded in a foreign world with little knowledge of being human, now Sonic has to team up with Twilight Sparkle, the Main 6 and and some familiar faces to stop Scourge and Sunset Shimmer.

Just to clarify, the Sonic that is used will be a combo of the Archie and Games. Sonic will be the ex-boyfriend of Sally, and will still have memories of her and adventures that took place in the games; where most comic stuff didn't happen.
