Earth has lost its protection against the magic-eaters, and its people can only retreat so far. Thankfully, someone has been watching out for them, and has found a new option in her counterpart, Celestia.

The human race is going to have to emmigrate, and a select few will be brought forward first to see firsthand how humans can adapt to live with and among a very different race.

And in the meantime, they have to learn to handle something that humanity hasn't had to wield for nearly twelve-thousand years: magic.
