What If 1: Lewis and Simon Went to Equestria?
Chapter 2: Lewis Does Jobs For EVERYBO-PONY... and loses something
Previous ChapterPinkie knocked on the door to what was apparently Twilight's house. What startled Lewis was that it was a giant tree. Of course, lot's of Minecraftians lived in trees, he could name several off the top of his head, but this tree was different. The wood was a different color than that he had seen, and it looked like jungle wood planks. But... Jungle wood was an entirely different color than it's planks, that was common knowledge. It was as if... Oh right, he was in a different world. Of course things wouldn't be the same.
Slowly, the wooden door opened, revealing a purple... uh, what had Hannah called it? Ali... Alicorn, yes!! A purple alicorn! She smiled when she saw Pinkie. "Is this another new pony?" the lavender mare asked.
"Yes, Twilight, this is LX," Pinkie exclaimed, "LX, this is Princess Twilight Sparkle. Twi, can you watch him for a bit while I work on his welcome to Ponyville party? I have a feeling something'll happen if I leave him with you."
"Of course, Pinkie," Twilight said, "Only if he can help me clean up the library."
"I can do that!" Xephos blurted out. Twilight chuckled.
"Alright, come on in," Twilight couldn't help but grin, "I'll teach you how to organize the books."
"Well, I honestly think that's the last thing I need to learn," Lewis said under his breath as he stepped into the library.
Twilight looked above their heads before she closed the door. "It looks like it's going to rain," she sighed, "Darn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to cancel with Applejack today. Oh well, there's always next week... and the one after that." She continued when she noticed Lewis was willing to listen, "We've had to cancel a lot, recently. I feel like I barely see her anymore, considering she's always too busy."
"Busy?" Xephos asked, "Like... working, or something?"
"Yeah, right on the dot, actually," Twilight said, picking up a book with her magic and placing it on the correct shelf, "On a family farm, just outside of Ponyville."
"So, you're angry she does her work?" Lewis handed her The Complete Guide to Finding Fairies.
"That about sums it up," Twilight said, putting it on the shelf.
"Well, think about it from her point of view," Xephos added, "She's just trying to support her family, those she loves, right? Keep her business afloat, and everybody smiling. Sometimes, you have to work, to make your friends happy."
"You know about this?" Twilight asked.
"Huh, guess I do," Lewis said, "I just try to make my girlfriend happy, by doing my job, which also includes making my best friend happy, by doing around ninety-percent of his work, without him even knowing. I've gotten good at forging his signature, which is why he has 'signed' things he had to recollection of." Heh, kinda backfired that one time we were getting our fighting licenses back. The look on his face!
"So, out of your friends, you're the smartest?" the alicorn asked another question.
"What?! Oh no, not even CLOSE!!!" Lewis exclaimed, "I mean, there's Duncan the scientist, Rythian the mage, Sips and Sjin, Nilesy, and ALL the girls, honestly, I'm up there, but I'm only above my friend, Simon, and a few others. And Simon used to be above me... I think we actually to make a list, next time we all see each other."
"You wanna see a spell?" Twilight asked.
"Um, sure?" Lewis wasn't quite certain he wanted to see a spell, after his last encounter with Rythian...
"Alright, so I've been practicing a spell that changes your eye color," Twilight said, "And I promise, I'll change it right back after I'm done. Do you want a specific color, or should I choose?"
"Um, red, I guess," Lewis said. It would be fun to pretend to be Israphel, right?
Lewis gulped as Twilight fired a pink beam at him, but it didn't hurt. There was a bright light, which caused him to close his eyes. When he saw it was gone through his eyelids, that's when he opened them.
Twilight sighed, "Still blue... Wait, if it didn't change your eyes, then what did it do?"
Now, Xephos would have said, "I feel fine, I don't think there was an effect," but when he opened his mouth, nothing came out. He covered it with his hoof, and Twilight's eyes widened.
"Oh Celestia, I'm so sorry!" Twilight said, "I'll try to find a cure, as soon as I can!"
Their conversation was interrupted by a knock on the library door.
"Twilight, dear!" a voice with a fancy accent exclaimed, "You have to help me!"
"Rarity, calm down!" Twilight said, "What happened?"
"Twilight, I have a fancy meeting in about an hour," Rarity explained, "AND THE BOUTIQUE IS A MESS!!! I need help cleaning up, do you think you could lend me Spike for thirty minutes?"
"I'm sorry, Rarity," Twilight said, "But Spike is away in Canterlot. He had to help the Princess with something. If you want, my friend LX could help you."
"LX?" Rarity asked, "I could have sworn somebody I met today said those initials..."
