"Flap 'em hard!" Rainbow Dash instructed. The alicorn rolled her eyes.

"You do remember what happened last time you told me that, right?" Twilight skeptically asked.

Rainbow thought for a moment. "Ok, maybe not that hard." She sheepishly said. Twilight let out a small giggle as she struggled to keep afloat in the air.

"Ok, different approach." Rainbow said. "Flap 'em like this!" She said as she pointed her hoof at her own wings. "Since your wings are more powerful than mine, you shouldn't have to flap any harder than me!" Rainbow informed. The wings of the princesses seemed to be bigger, with more feathers. This makes the wings much more powerful.

Twilight nodded as she slowed her flapping pace. The princess had now had her wings for almost a month, and still couldn't use them properly. Some lessons from Dash were greatly needed. The purple alicorn teetered still, attempting to stay in the air.

"Woah!" Twilight's wings stopped working and she fell towards the ground, before Rainbow caught her hoof in midair. "Thank you, Rainbow." Twilight said.

"Yeah, ok! You can try to flap now!" The pegasus said. Basically carrying her own weight, Rainbow sunk lower.

"Oh, right!" Twilight said as she began flapping her wings. As soon as Twilight regained her balance, Rainbow let go.

"Yeah, number one thing to work on is to stay in the air for longer than ten minutes." Rainbow Dash said as she shot an annoyed look at Twilight. The pegasus flew further away from Twilight, making a distance for her to fly. "Ok! Fly as fast as you can to me!" Rainbow instructed.

"As fast as I can? Isn't that pushing it a little bit, this early in my lessons?" Rainbow rolled her eyes.

"Just try!" Dash said, clearly running out of temper.

"Fine." The alicorn said. She pumped her wing faster than before, making her speed up. She shot forward, making a small cloud of dust appear where she was. Twilight had to admit, the wind on her face felt good. She reached the cyan mare and gave her a high-hoof.

"That was pretty fast!" Rainbow said. "For a amateur." She added.

"Very funny." Twilight flatly said. "Now what?"

"Bigger distance!" Rainbow said as she floated further away. "With obstacles!" Rainbow added as she pointed at some relevantly placed trees. They were tall trees, spaced apart in the form of a zigzag. "You can fly between these on your way over to me!" Rainbow said.

Twilight raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?" Twilight asked. Rainbow let out a loud frustrated huff.

"For Celestia's sake, YES!" She shouted out across the trees. "Now go!"

Twilight nodded and sped her flapping yet again. She darted towards the trees. She zigzagged past the first one, nose dived under the second one and swerved around the third one. As she flew past the last tree, her wing hit against a sharp branch.

"Ouch!" She chirped. She quickly flapped it off and continued flying towards Rainbow. Her speed became slower, trying not to irritate the scrape that appeared on her appendage.

"What's with the slow-down?" Rainbow questioned as Twilight approached her.

"I think," she said as she regained her stamina. "I hurt my wing." Twilight said.

"Lemme see!" Rainbow said as she opened the lavender wing with her hoof. Shocks of electricity shot up and down her appendage as Rainbow touched it. The flapping of Twilight's one wing and both of Rainbow's kept then in the air. "Mm, that's not very threatening, but maybe you should take a break anyways." Rainbow suggested.

"Okay." Twilight said as she rubbed the scrape on her wing.

She landed on the ground and looked for her saddlebags. She levatated a first aid kit out with her telekinesis. She opened it and found the right size of band-aid and kept it in her magical grasp as she dabbed an alcohol swab on it. As she was doing that, Rainbow landed behind her.

"Y'know, sometimes I with I had a horn." Rainbow said.

"Really?" She questioned as she stuck the band-aid on her wing. "Why?" Rainbow snorted.

"Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my wings, but do you know how friggn' hard it is to put a band-aid on? Let alone pick things up?" Rainbow ranted.

Twilight giggled. "Yeah, Rainbow, I couldn't see you giving up your wings for a horn in which you would only use for one spell: levitation!"

"Yeah, how would I be the Element of Loyalty if I didn't have wings!"

"You probably still could." Twilight answered.

"Yeah, right! Wings is the key to loyalty!" Rainbow shot back.

"That proves absolutely nothing, Rainbow. What about when your wings were taken away from you by Discord?"

"There was nothing loyal about that!" Rainbow argued back.

"Yes, you stick to your friends, everything about that is loyal." Rainbow rolled her eyes.

"You did seee fly away, right?"

"Yes, but if Discord hadn't bribed you to do so, I bet you that would have never happened."

"Whatever, this is getting off topic, are you ready to fly?" Rainbow asked.

"Yes, I think so." Twilight answered.

"Then let's fly!" Rainbow enthused.

Twilight nodded as she began flapping, and slowly making her way into the sky.

Okay let's try the one with the trees again!" Rainbow suggested.

"Okay....."

Twilight zoomed past the first few trees just fine, but when she approached the last tree, she didn't just scrape her wing. The same sharp branch gashed along her entire appendage. Her wing got caught on the branch. She desperately tried to pull free of the bracnch. She managed to pull her wing free, but gravity kicked in, and she hurtled towards the ground.

"Oh, dear Celestia....." Rainbow mumbled as she darted towards the falling princess. "Come on...." Rainbow chanted as she attempted to catch her. "No!"

Twilight felt all the air in her body being knocked out as she landed hard on her back. She started coughing and gasping to get air back into her lungs.

"Twilight! Are you okay?" Rainbow asked, worry in her voice.

Twilight coughed once. "I... Think so..." She said in a raspy voice, still gasping for breath. She slowly stood up with shakey knees. She yelped in pain as she stepped on her right forehoof. She quickly lifted her hoof off the ground. She opened her right wing. There was a long gash along the apendage. Several feather were missing, and dozens were out of place. "Ow."

"You're not okay." Rainbow said. "Where's that first aid kit?"

Twilight weakly raised a hoof in the direction of her saddlebags. Rainbow trotted over to it and pulled out the white box. She walked back over to her injured friend. She stared at all the contents inside

"Uh..." Twilight giggled.

"You don't know what to do, do you?" Twilight asked.

"No...." Twilight giggled again.

"Rub this on the cut." She said, pointing at a large alcohol swab. Rainbow fiddled with the swab, attempting to peel the cover off.

"Hey, Twi?"

"Yes?"

"Can you use your magic to peel the cover off?"

"Ok, I'll try."

"What do you mean, you'll try?" Rainbow asked.

"I'm not in fit shape, making it harder to cast spells." Twilight answered.

"Oh, ok." Rainbow said.

Twilight clenched her teeth and pinched her eyes close. A faint aura enveloped the swab. The cover of the swab peeled off, and was sent fluttering to the ground.

"Thanks." Rainbow said as she picked up the cotton swab. She rubbed it on the large gash, and Twilight winced in pain. "Sorry!" Rainbow said.

"No need to apologize. This would've happened if I did it to you." Rainbow blinked.

"Ok." She said as she continued to rub the cut. Twilight was on her back, both her large wings spread out across the ground.

"Mm, Twilight? Can I look at this wing? She said, pointing to her other wing.

"Sure." Rainbow inspected the wing. She touched the apendage and Twilight winced in pain. Rainbow rubbed her hoof along the apendage. Twilight shivered. When Rainbow rubbed her wing, it felt... Good. But it hurt at the same time.

"Yep, you've got a broken wing." Rainbow informed.

"Great." Twilight flatly said.

"C'mon, let's get you home."
