Another Cabin in the Woods
Chapter 3
Previous ChapterNext ChapterInstead of the doors in front of me, the ceiling slid open. I squinted my eyes to block my view from the rays of the moonlight. The walls were built in such a way that made it easy for me to climb. I hauled myself out of the lit and crawled along the forest floor. I got to my feet and ran through the forest. I made my through the forest and approached the cabin. Inside, I saw seven young boys wearing orange jumpsuits. Similar to the ones inmates wear. I saw them ascend from what appears to be the basement. I took a few steps back, hoping that they wouldn't see me. Suddenly, I heard movement behind me.
In the facility, the workers, the scientistd, even the corrupt security guards watched the big screen waiting with anticipation to see who'll be emerging from the ground. The boss was a man around his late 40s. He has gray hair, wore a business suit, and had a monocle over his left eye. "And the winners are..." He said. Everyone in the room gasped when they saw the three creatures rise from the ground. "That's a wrap!" The boss shouted. "Those who betted the Redneck Zombie, a Nazi Zombie, and the Headless Horseman, claim your prize!" One of the workers greedily grabbed the jar, chuckling to himself. "Now..." The boss continued. "The fun part. We watch the criminals who summoned these three get slaughtered."
Back above, the three creatures made their way through the forest and spotted me. I pulled out my gun and cocked it. I raised it up and shot the Nazi Zombie in the head, blood splattering out. Inside, the seven teenage cons gasped. "What the hell was that?" One of them asked. Another stood up and approached the door. When he opened it, he was greeted by an axe slicing his head off.
"Trent!" One of the cons screamed as the con's headless body crumpled to the floor, blood pooling everywhere. The headless horseman stepped inside, axe in one hand, sword in the other. The Redneck Zombie also entered the cabin. It wielded a pick axe. The remaining six cons huddled together as the two entities approached them. Suddenly, gunshots rang out, getting the Redneck Zombie in the back. It groaned loudly, staggering forward, dropping its pick axe in the process. I tucked my gun away, grabbed the pick axe sand hooked it at the back of the zombie's neck. With an angered yell, I pulled out the axe, but the top half of the zombie's head came with it. The cons gasped as the body crumpled to the floor. I tossed the pick axe with the attached top half of the head aside. The headless horseman turned around and approached me. I took a couple steps back, breathing steadily.
'Ok, how am I going to deal with this one?' I thought to myself. The horseman tossed me his sword and readied his axe as if I made a move, he'll slice my head clean off. "Shouldn't given me your sword" I said quietly. I lunged forward and stabbed him with ease. Leaving the sword there, I watched the horseman fall to his knees, dropping his axe. I picked up said axe, raised it up, and embedded it into the spot where his should've been. The entity then fell dead. I looked at the shocked faces of the teenagers. "You guys look like you haven't seen a dead body in your life."
In the facility, everyone was not happy. Not even the boss.
"What the fuck?!"
"That kid butchered up the whole operation!"
"This wasn't suppose to fucking happen!"
"Now those teens will continue living, committing more crimes!"
"We can't have that shit continuing!"
"Send them back to the cellar! Have them pick another item!" Even though the boss was as pissed off, he refused to let say anything. He glared at the screen, fuming. He then turned around and angrily punched a computer monitor. "Fuck" he said quietly but angrily. "That fucking kid needs to die, now..." He clenched his fists, listening to the complaints and arguments in the room. And from what he was hearing, he agreed with everything they are saying.
Back in the Cabin
"Holy fucking shit!" One of cons cried out as the watched me drag the body of the headless horseman out the door. I dragged it to the side and returned to the cabin, closing the door behind me. I sat on an old and almost completely torn recliner chair by the fireplace. One of the cons approached me. He was a little short and looked like he was 15. Perfect height for his age. He has short blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Who are you?" He asked. I didn't answer him. Instead I folded my hands, rested my chin on my knuckles and closed my eyes. 'Flutterbat... Wherever you are, I hope you are safe. And I promise you... I'm going to find you and we'll get out of this hellhole together.' A small tear ran down my face.
"Mr.?" The con asked again. I glanced up at him.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Yeah" I lied.
"You didn't answer my question: What's your name?"
"Cale" I answered.
"Rat" he said as he shook my hand. He turned to the other five. "That's Barclay, Speed, Klaus, Lloyd, and Roland."
"Who's the leader?" I asked.
"Me" Roland answered as he approached me. He had dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, and looked 17. "Do you know where the fuck these things came from?"
"No" I answered. "But I know one thing" I said.
"What will that be?" Barclay asked.
"You guys have to get out of here."
"Let's do it then!" Klaus exclaimed.
"But where do we go? It's dark outside" Rat said. Lloyd gasped.
"I got it!" He got up and went down to the basement. A minute or so later, he came back up. "This is the same flashlight we used to look in the basement" he explained to the other cons. He dropped a bag filled with working flashlights. The the other five cons bent down and picked up a flashlight. Roland tossed one to me.
"Anything else?" Klaus asked.
"Nope, this is all I gathered" he answered.
"All right boss man" Roland said, turning to me. "Lead the way" he answered. The seven of us exited the cabin, but I knew what had to be done. I wasn't going to leave here without Flutterbat. I turned to the woods and ran there. But as I did, the cons saw me fall in what appeared to be a pit.
"Cale!" Roland shouted. He and the others ran to where I fell and looked down. "Cale!" He yelled shining his flashlight. They saw me leaning against something. "Are you ok?" He asked. I made a pained groan.
"Kind of" I said. Just then, a slight noise was made. Speed cried out and ran forward, pushing all the cons in. Speed lost his balance and fell in too.
"Nice going Speed!" Klaus yelled. Suddenly there was a click and the sound of a door sliding closed was heard.
"What the hell was that?" Rat asked, clinging onto me like a kid.
"I don't know" I said.
"Hey guys?" Lloyd asked. "Why are we sitting on a metallic floor rather than dirt?" There was a loud clicking sound and the thing we are in started moving. We were brought to a really dark area. The thing we were trapped in suddenly turned on. We were all in a large cube. We continued sliding until we stopped abruptly. Klaus was thrown across the block and slammed against the wall.
He groaned in pain and rolled on his back.
In the Facility
The new worker found a clipboard and with a shaky hand, he ran a finger down the list. The boss placed his hand on his shoulder. "Are you alright?" He asked. The new worker continued to read through the pages.
"I know you're upset that this didn't go well" he said, thinking that the worker was going through the list to find something to kill me.
"That guy... He said that there are 22 creatures in the Jailhouse" he said.
"Don't listen to him... 22 is his favorite number so he uses it all the time."
"How many of these things do you have?"
"49, but because of our new monster, 50. Well, since three have been summoned and were killed by that fucking guy, we have 47 now. I'll give you time to read through the list." The boss left him alone. The new worker's widened withe each name listed on the clipboard.
The place was so quiet, it's starting to scare us. "Is it getting cold in here, or is it just me?" Klaus asked. The cube we were in started moving again. We then felt like we connected with something. We then saw that the floor, walls, and ceiling were all glass windows. Klaus turned around and saw something move in the dark. "What the fuck?" He asked.
"What is it?" Lloyd asked.
"I thought I saw..." Klaus trailed off.
"Saw what?" Lloyd asked.
"Never mind" Klaus said backing away from the window. As he did, he saw something sitting on the floor in the cube beneath them. "Guys look" he said. We all looked down at the cube beneath us. A man was loading what appears to be an assault rifle. When he glanced up, we saw that his face was painted so it looked like a skull.
"Mercenary" I whispered. The cube he was in moved to the left but he never left his gaze. He kept staring at us as if he's going to kill us soon. Lloyd glanced up and saw a creature that's half dragon, half bat, flying around.
"Goddamn... Dragonbat thing" he complained as he moved away. Something connected to out cube.
"Whoa" I heard Speed say. "Am I tripping? Or is this thing real?" We all turned our heads. Connected to us was an anthro bat hybrid. Her wings were folded back, her kegs were drawn up, and her arms were hugging her knees. She had pale fur, red but sad eyes, pink hair, and a pink tail. I turned my head slightly and smiled when I saw three pink bats on her flank. I tapped the glass window lightly. Flutterbat turned her attention to me. Her red eyes widened and went over to the glass window. The cons gasped and moved back, but I stayed where I was. She placed a clawed hand on her glass window and I placed my hand against mine so it looked like our hands were connecting. Another loud click was made and the cube I was in started moving away from her. We stopped somewhere and the doors slid open.
"Get the fuck out here now!" The guard yelled. I tackled him to the floor and punched him repeatedly in the face.
"This is for Flutterbat, you piece of shit" I said with venom in my voice. I drew my gun, pulled the hammer back and pulled the trigger next to his ear. When he opened his mouth to scream, I pressed the gun against his chest and planted two more bullets. I got to my feet, exited the cube, and ran down the hall, leaving the cons to stand there with shock. "Are you coming or what?" I asked. From down the hall. The six convicts left the cube and followed me. Now to find a way to get Flutterbat out of there.
In the main room, a security guard barged in almost out of breath. "We have a problem" he panted. "The new guy has led the convicts in here."
"Hunt them down" the boss said. "Leave none alive. Oh, and bring me the body of the new guy. I want to kill him myself." The guard nodded and left the room.
We ran down the hallway, taking occasional turns. "Do you know where we are going?" Klaus asked.
"Yeah. Trying to find a way to get my friend out there" I said.
"What friend?" Roland asked.
"The bat pony hybrid you saw me interacting with." We turned a corner and entered a large area. One side was a row of elevators doors and on the other was another set of doors. I counted 50 total.
"Holy shit" Lloyd gasped. Rat clung onto me like a kid. Just then, we heard multiple footsteps.
"This way!" A voice called. We spotted a glass window in front of us and hurried over to it. I opened the door and slipped inside along with the other cons. Klaus closed the door and locked it. There was a control panel on one side and on the other was locker. I shot the lock and opened the locker, revealing an arsenal of handguns and assault rifles.
"Jackpot" Roland grinned. While the cons armed themselves, I went over to the control panel searching for something to release Flutterbat. Suddenly gunfire rang. I dropped down as did the others.
"Give us a fucking break!" Klaus shouted over the gunfire. Speed got up and ran over to the dashboard. He grinned when it had to deal with the monsters.
"That's it.." He said angrily as he pressed a button. A red button flickered on and was blinking rapidly. I noticed the warning sign that said RELEASE ALL AT THE SAME TIME under the blinking red button. I eyed a button that said 'Release 5 at a Time under a green blinking button.
"Speed, wait!" I shouted.
"Take this, fuckers!" He pressed down on the blinking red button. Suddenly the control panels switch off. The gunfire suddenly ceased and the sounds of movement came from the elevator doors.
"Speed... What the hell have you done?" I asked shakily. Just then the movemements ceased. A choir of dings was heard and 47 elevator doors slid open.
