"They're the exact same, Pinkie..." I slumped down on the edge of the counter.
Jumping out of a flour bag behind me, Pinkie screamed, "The same?! It's like you've learned nothing in this wondiferous kitchen, Massy!"
Ugh... again with that name.
"Pinkie." I said, exasperated. "It's Mason. Not Massy, Masony, and definitely not, Massysysysysysy. Mason. Only, Mason."
She pried my face upwards into a smile and huffed, "Even when I force you to smile, you're not happy... are you, Massy?" She deflated, making that comical sound of a balloon losing air.
Turning my head to see her, I almost cried.
God. Fucking. Damn it. Even though she covers my entire body in confectionery every chance she gets, I just can't help myself to stay mad at her. Dat face...
"You fluffy, pink, bastard." I said, reaching behind myself and flinging the party pony over my head and into my arms. "I can only stay mad at you for SO long before I feel like an asshole." I hugged her tightly and heard a small squeak mixed with her bubbly mane popping back up into its rightful cotton candy appearance.
"W-wha... I-uh-uhm, needtogonowbye!" She slipped from my hug and bolted through the kitchen to her room, but not before yelling down the stairs, "YoucantotallyhandletherestofthedayhavefunMassy!" Then her door slammed shut.
"I... You know what? I tried. Pinkie's just being Pinkie."
I finished the rest of the baking Pinkie left half-assed and stocked the display cases with tasty treats for the ponies of the town, and began my walk out the store. I passed Mrs. Cake who gave me a confused look as she wandered her gaze towards the second floor, and I shrugged in response.
Waving goodbye to Mrs. Cake, I made my way out of the gingerbread kingdom and along the dirt trails of Ponyville.
...I guess I should give a little back story. Might be needed to those reading.
My name's Mason Berlow. I had a life of video games, junk food and on rare occasions, random adventures with my friends. Mostly my life was the internet, t.v and of course, boredom.
Nothing extraordinary every happened, and I was a mundane, apathetic, asshole. Just the way it had always been.
That is until an 8-bit Pinkie Pie came across my screen one night after I finished my lurking on 4-Chan. I should have known something would happen if I clicked on it; a virus, a cryptic code downloading, anything really. We've all been there. But, like an idiot I clicked the pop-up and something happened the likes of which will probably never happen to another person; I was sucked through my damn computer, head spinning, and dropped off in a random land full of color. No joke, I think I was on acid mixed with elephant tranquilizers.
I was out for what I assumed was only a few hours due to the sun already being up, but not too high in the sky. But it didn't exactly matter considering I woke up in the middle of a fucking dark-ass forest.
It took me a few moments to compose myself like it would any other, but I think I was pretty good at- Oh who am I kidding, I huddled into a ball and kept repeating, "My mom just drugged my tea, again. It'll all be over soon..."
It wasn't over. After tripping over anything I could set my sight on, and running from a pack of savage wooden-dog-things, (Thank you Ben, for making me join the track team) I saw a mint-green pony just chillen on a bench.
At first I thought, "How is it even sitting like that?", but after seeing the pastel equine take a sip from the milkshake balanced on its stomach, my questions grew far beyond its sitting position. After walking up to it and trying to whisper, "Who's a pretty pony?" like the imbecile I am, she galloped away screaming, "Haaaaaaannnnnds!".
Ponies shouldn't talk. Ever. Or be able to make delicious fucking milkshakes... Yes, I sat down and took her milkshake. I was having a mental breakdown, I didn't think jacking a ponies milkshake was the biggest problem I had to face at the moment. Also, I like a cooling drank every now and again.
By the time I finished the milkshake, the green unicorn (Saw her horn this time) showed up with a gang of pastel ponies wearing jewelry and frowning at me. Mfw? I didn't do anything wrong, (Other than take a milkshake) so, like my usual spaztastic self, I waved awkwardly and uttered a small, "Sup?".
Not the best way to start off but hey, I'm in a land of fucking brightly colored ponies. Don't judge. Realizing I was less harmful than a lamp, they brought me to their rulers, Celestia and Luna. They were extremely understanding of my situation and were total sweethearts to me.
Honestly, I almost didn't want to leave. Luna was brilliant at any game we played. She asked me what I did in my spare time on my planet and she got, "Game." as the response. Confused as fuck, she inquired further. I told her about the glory that was the Xbox, television, and the PC master race. She magicked up an Xbox, a 52'' flat screen and Halo 4. I was utterly shocked, but she tried to explain something about memories being the key and other such rambling. All I kept thinking was, "Game, game, game, game!" I didn't care how, all I cared about was the fact she made it possible.
I created something beautiful in that mare; I created a true gamer. As proud as I am, I was requested (Threatened) to leave the castle because I quote, "My sister, Luna, is a large shut-in already and your magic box and games aren't helping!". Celestia told me that since I'm stuck here, I might as well enjoy it, so she sent me with her student, Twilight (Codename: Spergle Purplesmarts) to Ponyville to learn the "Magic of Friendship". She talked as if I was never going to leave! (I was in deep denial at the time. It passed.)
Spergle suggested that I work for her at the library with her assistant Spike (Tiny wingless dragon). I cringed at the very thought of being surrounded by books 24/7, but gave it a shot.
I ended up accidentally just giving books out to ponies. How the hell was I supposed to know they had to sign the check-out list. Last time I was in a library to get a book was when I was seven!
ANYWAYS. Getting a little off topic. Purplesmarts sent me to her friend Rarity for a job. The struggle continued throughout the day a little something like this; set fire to Rarity's favorite silk, could only knock down a single apple at Applejack's farm, got mauled by tiny animals at Fluttershy's, and with Rainbow? Well, I can't exactly fucking fly.
That left Pinkie. And baking...
Since I never really had to bake or cook anything in my life, I didn't know if I was any good or not. The Cakes gave me a little test to see if I could make something tasty. They told me I had to bake anything I wanted, but it had to up to par with their standards (Fare, right?).
Even before I took my brownies out of the damn oven, they told me I was hired and I could start the next day. It took Pinkie all of a second to attach herself to my back and tell me how much fun we were going to have as baking buddies.
That was almost a full three years ago. Since then, I've earned enough bits (Equestrian currency) to buy myself a nice little home. Nothing special, a little place with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, and a spare room if I ever decide I want to get passed myself being a prick. No t.v, or computer, just my ipod I happened to have finished charging and placed in my pocket before 8-bit Pinkie came by. (Still trying to put two and two together. She says she has no clue what I'm talking about, but her ravages to the fourth wall beg to differ).
And that's where I am, now. Sitting in my armchair, looking out my bay-window, listening to ACDC like a champ.
Normal end to a not-so normal life. Ponies are weird, man.
Pinkie POV
He hugged me... He NEVER hugs me.
But Pinkie, you've hugged him thousands of times. You've even given him a wake-up hug. Remember that weird thing poking you under his sheets?
But he got mad at me for that! Although you're right... I've hugged him so many times it's stupid to not be used to it.
Then why is our heart beating so fast?
*SMACK*
Huffing and throwing a coconut cream pie (HER FAVORITE) at figurative Pinkie, she cannon-balled into her bed where Gummy was to comfort her.
Attaching his toothless jaws to her poofy mane in his affectionate manner, she broke the silence between them.
"Why is my heart going all poundy pound, Gummy? I don't like it anymore..."
The gator blinked a few times in response.
"You really think that, Gummy?" Unhooking his jaws from her hair, he licked her face and flopped onto the bed. "I... But Gummy, he doesn't like ponies that way. Applejack already tried that, and remember his face and the long lines of, "Nopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenope" that followed?"
Gummy blinked his left eye and Pinkie gave a sad sigh before curling up with him in her embrace.
"You're the bestester pet ever, Gummy."

Food Fights are Fun Fights
Mondays can choke on a dick...
I spent my entire weekend getting groceries and listening to my music. Groceries are the most exercise I get here, thanks to the whole, 'meat eating' part of my diet. Sure, the ponies don't like the fact that I eat meat and some even despise me for it, but fuck 'em. I need meat to live! Or at least that's what I told them. I'll be damned before I give into these veggie eating hippies. There's very little meat that runs/swims free in this world that isn't sentient, so I have to go far out of my way into the WhiteTail Woods just to get a fucking turkey. There's few animals I can eat here, so I have to eat turkey, fish, and of course eggs. If I try to eat a chicken, I get yelled at and they call me a murderer. Been long enough now, so I can catch a gobbling bastard fairly easy.
If I can't have pig flesh searing on my pan, you're damn right I'm going to have eggs and toast with some salmon. Can't take who I am!
Getting to dine on a dead animal is the best part of the morning. The worst, you may ask? Well-

Slowly walking my way up to the door and opening it, I revealed an orange hoof ready to knock again, "Mornin' Mason!" AJ said with a cheery smile. "Fancy meetin' ya'll here." She smiled even wider.
"At my house?" She nodded. "Where I live..?" She just nodded again and waited for me to speak. "Fuck it. What do you want AJ? I have perfectly dead chicken fetus going to waste." I was clearly losing interest by the nano second, but making AJ almost hurl is enough to get me through this conversation.
"Oh, don't be actin' like ya'll don't like ma' company." She waved me off with a hoof and forced a blush. Every morning... "Have ya happen ta' give any more thought into ma' lil offer?"
Ah, yes. Her offer.
"I've given it a lot of thought, AJ." She grinned and inched closer to me. "And the answer's still no. Never. Never will I do that with you, or anypony else." I slammed the door went back to my chilled breakfast. "Fucking AppleJack..."
As I scarfed down my cold eggs but I could hear AJ shout from outside, "Playin' hard ta' get are ya? I like that in a stallion!" Then her hoof beats grew quieter and then became silent.
After being here for a year, AppleJack saw me as a possible mate. I did not. And ever since I first bolted off her farm screaming nope and few hundred times, shes been gunning after me... And my dick.
Her gracious "offer" as she so easily put it, was for me. Yes, that's right. Yours truly, to rut her as much and as hard as I wanted and to marry her on her family's farm so we can stay together forever. And ever. I was scared shitless when she first approached me about it, but now it's just cringe worthy.
She comes by every morning to make sure I know her offer's always waiting. And open...

"Christ, it's only 7:47am and I'm already yelling at myself. Too early, I saaaaay." As I toss my plate and fork into the sink. Still have to get to work.
Work. The only part of the day I can handle and at least get through. To some, this may sound like the opposite of your day. Well, you've never gotten to work with the random ball of ADHD that is Pinkamena Diane Pie.
Yes, she's fun to be around (not to mention fluffy as fuck and adorable) and she can lighten my mood, even if it is only for a moment... I've been thinking about home way too much lately. Hell, when I first got here, my questions were rampant: What are my parents doing? Do they have any idea where I went? Did they look for me? Am I going home?
Now I sit in my armchair, listening to my music til I fall asleep reminiscing.
I usually just get Purplesmarts to charge the thing with a sparking spell. I thought it would fry the fuck out of the Ipod, but after Twilight prying it from my hands and telling me (screaming over my blood curdling cries) it would be fine, she happily charged it.
Now, as my only way to remember home and listening to something other than Pinkies tracks, and Vinyls wubs, it serves but one purpose. Being a bitch and DYING SO FAST!
Anyways... I'm pretty much at Sugarcube Corner. Explaining things got me caught up in the mome- The fuck? Is Pinkie staring at me with binoculars?
Is she spying on my again?!
... Don't ask.
When I got into the kitchen, Pinkie looked calm and casual, not doing anything out of the ordinary; and that's where her flaw lied. The stillness, it's not her... Plus she's still wearing the binoculars around her neck. Ah, Pinkie. Always the clever one, you are.
I swiftly walked passed her and snagged them off her neck, staring at her through them.
"Doing a little birdwatching were you, Pinks?"
I swear I could see the hairs on her neck stand up all at once.
"Uhh-Yes! There'sthisbirdoutsidemywindowandhesbeeneatingGummy'sbirdseedsoI'vebeentryingtogivehimthestareFluttershytaughtmewiththebinocularstomakeitevenworseonhimbecauseGummyreallylikeshisbirdseed." *Heavy Breathing* "Buthehasn'tstoppedatall!" Flinging cookies everywhere and gasping loudly she yelled, "DoyouthinkGummy'sinonit?!"
At times like these, I'm glad I'm in this place. It brings me so much joy to call Pinkie out on her bullshit. To take her down a peg, if you will.
"Saw you in the window," I said nonchalantly, "Nice try, Pinks."
Her fur turned ghostly white. Hah. Never going to get tired of that. She Pinkie Promised me a while back to never ever, NEVER lie to me. Its worked pretty well, so far.
"But-but! But-Iwastotallyallincogneatio!" She always tries to justify it, and tries to get out of saying she flat out lied. It never works for obvious reasons. Taking a deep breath and showing her best puppy face, she tries to plead.
"Hell nah. You know the deal, Pinkie." It's too much power for one man, I swear.
"You... You meanie!" She crossed her hooves in a pout, but at the same time took a whipped cream pie and frowned at me, "Meanie!"
"Liar." The pie hit her face not a second later. I swear I almost laughed. It gets better every time she does it.
"You're making me start to hate whipped cream, Massy." Bullshiiiiiit~
"And that's why your licking it off your face?" I said, not even having to look up from the cake batter to know what she was doing.
"How'd you know?" She asked in her happy voice; tongue slurping back into her mouth.
"Because you need it live, Pinkie. Same goes for chocolate milk and cotton candy." Monotone voice works perfectly for being a smart-ass.
"Smarty-pants!" She blew her tongue out at me and made a little "Phhft!" sound.
"Oh, go taste the rainbow." I might have made her a little angry with that one. (I told her what the slogan was after I nicknamed Bluefast, Skittles. God, the field day I had with her.
"You know she's just a friend!" Sooooo flustered, Pinks.
"Well I haven't seen you with a stallion~. Always hanging out with Skittles? I think you've tasted the rainbow at least once."
"Mason." She said, sternly.
Ah, I hit the sweet spot, so to speak.
"You. Leave. Dashie. OUT OF THIS!"
*Ping*
Was that... Was that a pastry knife that just got lodged into the wall?
Turning my head and seeing the knife wobbling back and forth, I grabbed it. Slowly putting it in the drawer and snagging an egg off the counter with my other hand, I walked up to her and held her withers.
"Calm down, Pinks. I was just trying to rattle you a bit." Her, 'bull ready to charge' face died off and she melted under my touch like most of the ponies do, (Hands, dude. Hands.) and developed a goofy expression. "Always keep your head up, Pinkie."
*Splat*
Whelp, there does that smile.
"An EGG?. You shall taste the fury that is, Madame de le Floure and Sir Reginald, The Sweet!" She needs to get out more.
"Bring it, whorse!"
And so commenced the largest, all-out confectionery battle in history. Flour, sugar, coco powder, eggs, icing, milk, ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate, gumballs, sprinkles; nothing was safe from our grip.
By the time our glorious fight was finished, most of Sugarcube Corner was engulfed in a mushroom cloud of baking goods, and ponies coughing, trying to get out. The Cakes evacuated the ponies and told them to come back later when they have everything sorted out.
Heaving and sweating like a maniac, we both collapsed to our knees and glared at each other from the two foot distance.
"Huah, huah. Truths? *Heave*"
"Truths..." I fell to the floor with Pinkie landing on my back shortly after.
"Ow..." I said, mouth muffled by the pile of sprinkles it was in.
"Oh, *Wheeze* shut up... I'm like a marshmallow to you."
I can't hold it in anymore.
"Hahahahahaha!" I laughed. Good god, did I laugh. I smiled and laughed like there was no tomorrow.
After three years of having Pinkie make her attempts, and fail. I gave in and welcomed the new feeling.
"Well, it looks like you two are having fun."
"Ahahaha- Oh shit."
Mr. and Mrs. Cake are not amused.
"Wait... Is Mason laughing?! Guess I owe you twenty bits, Pinkie," I could hear Mr. Cake shouting from the front doors.
Pinkie exploded in confetti and streamers, the force of her party outburst funneling the clouds of smoke out of the shop.
"You're smiling! Ohmygosh, you're laughing too!" Pinkie took all this well. VERY FUCKING WELL.
ONE MIGHT EVEN SAY... SPINE-CRUSHINGLY WELL.
"Uhm, Pinkie, dear? I think you forgot to mention he's also suffocating." Thank you, Mrs. Cake!
"Halp... Me." I managed to wheeze out.
Pinkie didn't even look up. *Sigh*, Looks like I'm resorting to this trick, again.
Moving a hand close to Pinkie's ears, I could already see them twitch. I gave them each a scratch and a few rubs; she pretty much oozed onto the floor and gave a light hum as I continued.
Dem hands doooooe!
I stopped and watched as her serene smile met a frown on her face. "You always stop too soon..."
"THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID," Mr. Cake screamed from the other room. He just jumped to the top of my hangout list. You know, if I ever decide to stop being such a prick.
"Honeybun~, those strawberry glazes better be done~"
"BUCK, BUCK, BUCK, BUCK!"
"That's what I thought." Pinkie and I snickered. "Now," She began, causing Pinkie to straighten immediately. "You two need to get on damage control before I kick you both in the flank so hard, your mothers feel it."
Never heard, 'shut up and clean' phrased so well in my life. The second Mrs. Cake turned and left, we started fighting over the mop and broom/ washcloths. Apparently she got the mop because, 'Narwhals don't wear socks on Wednesdays'. It's Monday, but nothing she said made any sense, so I let her have it.
We spent two hours fighting, three hours cleaning, and another five baking. When Pinkie placed the last cherry, on the last batch of double funaroos , I almost passed out.
"We're done for the day, right?" I groaned out, splayed across the counter-top.
"Yes, indeedy, Mr. Massy!" She chimed.
Is she seriously still full of pep? I mean, I know I should be used to it after a near three years and all. But damn, I think she's pure sugar and smiles.
"How are you even moving?" She was hopping around like her non worked-to-death self.
"I made you smile~ I made you laugh~. I made you smile~ I made you laugh~" She chanted as she danced and hopped around in the bakery.
Under my breath I whispered, "I knew nothing good would come from it..."
"I don't get it?" Pinkie said, tilting her head with a look as if her train of thought derailed and exploded on the tracks.
Of course you wouldn't Pinkie, bless your innocence...
"Pinks. You've gotta understand something. I," I put a hand on my chest, "will be naked in the bath. You," I patted her head and she smiled, "will be like you always are. You can't take off clothes you don't have, get it?"
God, she better.
"But I'm technically naked all the time, and since I don't have clothes that can't be taken off, by your standards, I'm naked right now, and that makes no sense for you to be wearing clothes if you see me and everypony else like this to begin with, Massy." She sounded quite happy about that, I'm not sure why...
"But... What, no, because... I'm a human, and you're a pony, and..." I couldn't think of anything. "Fuck..." Pinkie grabbed my arm and swung open the door to the bathroom, tossing me into the tub with my clothes still on. The tub that is fucking deep, and HOLY SHIT SOMETHING TOUCHED MY LEG!
I looked down and saw a large pink tentacle with its suction cups around my ankle. I screamed and air bubbles escaped my mouth as I tried to beat the tentacle until it released and made a surprisingly feminine squeak. Somehow having enough water in the tub to flail like a mad man and swim to the surface, I came eye to eye to a frowning Pink pony sucking on her hoof.
"T-that wasn't very nice, Massy... My hoof hurts a b-bunch now." She said, tears forming in the bridges of her eyes.
"Wait, that was you!?" How in the hell did she- NO. Not going to think about this. "Pinks, you tried to drown me, not cool." I said stubbornly.
Wait... Where the fuck did my clothes go?!
"I was playing!" No she looks sad, no, no, not sad! "I was the big scary sea monster, and you were the shipwrecked survivor..." Oh god no, the TEARS. "I'-I-I'm sorry I did t-that! Please don't hate me."
"Ugggggggh, how can you even cry in a bath, you'll fill it up- Wait, oh shit, you are!" I shimmied over to her and started petting her soggy mane, "Come on, Pinks. You know you're my best friend. Hell, if anything you're the one pony I trust here more than any of the others. Calm your pouting and stop filling with bath with tears, it's freaking me out to be in here..."
She stopped her random Pinkie tears and smiled brightly, "Oh, okay!" She resumed what she was doing and dove under the water, giggling into it, making bubbles come up.
I worry about her sometimes. "Pinks, you just never give up on surprising me." I said aloud, slumping onto the back of tub and recoiling slightly as she breached the water, sounding like an Orca doing a barrel roll.
"BWAAAAW~!" She splashed down, sending a tidal wave after me and splashing against my face, letting the tubs water even out while she poured a bunch of bubble bath soap into the water.
"I'm still not getting how the tub is a fucking ocean right now. Care to enlighten me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow and wondering if the Cakes were hearing this too.
"It's easy, MassyMassy!" She giggled as she made herself a beard out of bubbles and continued, "See, when the cakes don't use the tub, I simply fill it up with water and toss Gummy into it. I don't know how Gummy does it, to be truthful. He's a mysterious one, you know~" She ended, making a hat out of bubbles as well and rubbing her hooves together creepily.
"Uhh. Alright? Sounds good I guess?" I'm think I'm starting to get how everypony else feels no- SHE SAID THAT LITTLE THING WAS IN HERE?!
Just as I came to the realization I felt something slither around my lap and jump out of the water, perching on my shoulders. I slowly turned to look at my right shoulder where the toothless little bastard's head was, "H-hey t-th-ere Gummy. H-how you d-doing?" I asked cautiously.
He blinked each eye agonizingly slowly, staring into my very soul and slightly to the left and right. His tail wrapped around my neck and I yelped, being pulled under and thrashed around.
This is what happens every time I see this shit!
While I was being mangled underwater, I could see Pinkie giggling away on the surface and smiling down into the water with a really happy gaze. Seriously, what's up with her lately?
"Those two are always like that... I wonder why Gummy likes him so much; I wonder why I... No, no, bath time!" Pinkie yelled excitedly into the empty bathroom, diving down to her favourite two friends.
"ARRGHH!!" I screamed through the water, gargling it and realizing I'll kill myself before I can scream any more, holding my breath, and biting on the gator's tail hearing a intense growl and spinning around in a frenzy, "Holllllllly shit!!" I yelled into the tidal pool he was creating before being launched back to the surface with a loud splash.
I gulped in air and spat out water, heaving and looking around for Pinks. OH GOD, SHE'S GONE, WHO WILL SAVE ME FROM THE EVIL LITTLE FUCK IN THE WATER?! I thought.
Somehow swan diving to the surface of the water, Pinkie elegantly landed on the mat by the edge of the tub holding Gummy in her hooves, "Bath time's over silly head!" She told me, shaking herself dry as I simply stayed in the water.
"What are you two..." I mumbled to myself scared to get out. Also a little reluctant on letting Pinks see my junk.
"The most powerful team in all Equestria~!" Jesus jones, she heard me! "Now get out of there mister, it's getting late and the cakes are going to be super sleepy, not to mention the twins."
"Uhhh. Thanks, but I'll wait for you two to leave." I said, a little red under the nose.
"But why? Not like you'll be naked, Massy." What? WUT?
"Pinks, I think you're so far gone passed the 4th wall, you can't even understand basic things any more." I said, staying in the tub.
"I told you Massy, I didn't do anything with the water, that was all Gummy here! He has ways~" What does she smoke?
"I'm not getting out of this water until you're outside the room, Pinks." I told her strictly.
"Yuh huh!" She said almost frustrated, "I'm getting you out!" She grabbed me by the arms and pulled me out so fast I didn't even feel the change of air from the water.
Wait... WAIT, WAIT, WAIT. There's a reason I didn't feel the fucking change!
"Pinks, what the hell... HOW?" I asked dumbfounded.
I was in my clean clothes, dry as they were before the food fight. I... I can't do this, my head is going to explode.
"I told you, Massymassy. He has ways~" She said, showing me Gummy and placing him on her mane, hopping out the doorway.
"Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope. I'm going with it." I told myself, following out the door behind her, and watching as she bounced into her room and stopping before she closed the door.
"You... You wanna come in? I have some awesome boardgames we could play!" She smiled over to me in that smile only the Pink ball of candy and fluff can. I couldn't say no this time. She makes me smile now.
"Sure Pinks, why not? I got nothing left to do today anyway's." I gave her my best impression of the smile I mustered earlier and strolled down to her door.
All I saw was a pink flash and a comfy bed with pink and purple frosting coloured sheets by the time I was in eye site of her door. I looked around her room for a moment, taking into account she doesn't really have all that much. Dresser, mirror, table, some toy chairs, bed, side table, and that's pretty much it. Other than the bright colours it's quite plain. I would have expected something different...
"Like it?" She asked almost hopeful from behind me, making me jump a little.
"Holy shit, Pinks you need to stop doing that before I have a heart attack. But yeah, I really do. Simple, not too much stuff around the room. Reminds me of my entire house." I told her, patting her head and sitting down on the bed.
"Really? Your entire house is like this?" She asked almost shocked and sat down next to me on the bed.
"Well yeah. I only came here with what I had in my pockets, I don't really need anything else. I have a lazyboy in my living room, table for meals and my bed. Other than a dresser that has a cool design I rarely even use that Luna gave me, I have nothing else. See no point in it really."
The whole time I told her this she actually seemed surprised.
"You have nothing else?" She said a little saddened for some reason, "Nothing?"
"Well it's all I've ever needed. You ponies don't have computers or t.v's here, so this is all I need." I stopped and looked at her, "Honestly, there's nothing better than laying around after a hard days work and listening to some tunes on my Ipod."
"Ipod...?" She tilted her head.
"Oh right, I don't think I've ever actually let you listen to anything on it before." I told her, reaching into my pocket and pulling out my Ipod with the headphones, "What kind of music would you like... Hmm, fuck it, this calms me down, lets see if sugar incarnate can be tamed, shall we?" I cracked a smirk from my own comment and she actually giggled.
"Sure, let us see." She smiled and shuffled over closer to me.
"Okay, now this will sound weird, but put these into your ears," She looked at me like I was retarded. "Just do it, Pinks."
"Uhmmm, okay. Ew, this feels weird." She said, putting them in her ears and staring blankly at me, "Now what?"
"Now this." I told her, pressing play on Clocks by Coldplay. What? It's a good song, I like to chill out to it.
The second it hit her ears, her eyes bulged and then slowly they closed about three quarters of the way, then half lidded, then almost fully closed, and finally she shut her eyes and started humming to the beat. She actually likes it? Pinkie started moving back and forth, a smile ever present on her face.
She started slowly leaning my way and ended up leaning on my right arm, a serene smile on her face and as the chorus kicked in she held onto my arm.
It... It kinda felt nice to be honest.
It ended and began playing Cage the Elephant, and to my surprise she gripped tighter onto my arm and began trying to hum to this beat as well.
This... This really does feel nice now.
I stared down at her and began ever so softly stroking her mane as she listened to the song and wouldn't stop smiling as it continued.
I couldn't help it, I smiled along with her. She was being just so damn.. Cute. She looks so happy right now, I wouldn't want to make her stop. But I really wanted to ask of what she thought of the music, so I pressed pause on the track and her eyes slowly opened.
She blinked and looked up at me from her new position; right next to me, holding my arm.
"W-why'd you stop it?" She asked, calmly and evenly.
"I wanted to see what you thought of it." She didn't let this stop her smile, "So? Did you like it?"
She let go of me and answered, "I thought it was wonderful, Massy... I didn't know peoples could make such beautiful music. That was great, thank you."
Did she just call it beautiful? Did she just say all that at normal pace?!
"I. Well, no problem Pinks. If you ever want to listen to it, just ask. I'll be glad to let you."
She gestured to the earbuds still in her ears and poked my side, "Can I again right now?"
"But I thought you wanted to play a game or something didn't you?" I wondered, not even really caring about it, actually.
"Not any more." She said, voice sounding so, so, delicate. "I'd rather sit here with you and hear what you like. It's amazing."
This is an intriguing moment. I feel kind of giddy to do this with her; to make her smile...
"Sure, Pinkie." I said as nicely as I could, petting her mane and smiling at her, "Let me pick one you'll like."
"Thanks, Massy." She grabbed my arm again and closed her eyes, leaving me to ponder the new feeling in my gut. Seriously, Pinkie's being so. So, not herself, and I actually want to smile around her.
I sighed and flipped through my songs and came to Today, by the Smashing Pumpkins. As soon as I hit play, she gripped me tighter and crawled to the head of the bed, taking me with her and making me lay on my back with her clutching my arm and grinning.
"Pinks?" I asked. She didn't move or anything, leaving that grin like smile on her face. "Okay Pinks. Fine by me..." I stared at her ceiling, arm behind my head on her pillows and just thought of something.
"I'm happy here."
What's this?
I feel unsettlingly warm... Like there's something latched onto my side.
I don't want to open my eyes! This was a terrific new feeling, and I don't plan on letting it go while I can still sleep.
"No way." What? "Honeybun! Get in here right now, you have to see this." The fuck is yelling in my house so early?
"Well would you look at that." It's too early to get robbed! Ugh fine, I'll get up, you intruders.
I opened my eyes and looked over to the voices, the morning haze still in my eyes. Rubbing them with my left hand, I tried to focus more on the two figures standing in my room.
"What the hell? Why are you guys in my house?" I asked the Cakes in confusion.
"Haha, you better look around if you think this is your house, dear." The hell Mrs. Cake?
I suddenly realized the room around me looks like a bomb of frosting went off and covered the walls, along with the entire room itself. I tried getting up but I couldn't even fully sit up for some reason. I looked down at my arm and saw Pinkie snuggling onto it, a goofy smile on her sleepy face.
"Wait..." I blinked a couple times and looked at the Cakes, blinking a few more times and looking down at Pinkie.
"How long til he figures it out?" Mr, Cake whispered.
"I give it a few more secon-"
"I'm in Pink's bed?!" I blurted out, a memory of letting Pinkie hold onto me while she passed out last night to the sound of my tunes flooding my site. And that's when my pupils grew to fucking dinner plates. "Uh... I can explain?"
"Oh, I'm sure you can, but I think I'll like Pinkies much better." Mrs, Cake said with a devilish grin, walking up to the bedside and poking Pinkies side a little.
"Noooo~.. Massy, you're so warm. I don't wanna move~." She said in a daze, curling up in a ball against me, making my face redden slightly.
"Come on Pinkie~ It's time for work." At this, Pinkie's eye shot open and looked up at me, face deepening into a blush.
"I-I-I-I.. IT WAS GUMMY!" She said quickly, letting go of me and disappearing under her sheets. They flattened out once she pulled off whatever the fuck it is the she does.
I kinda just sat up and followed Pinkie's suit, walking passed the Cakes with my hair covering my face without saying a word to hide the blush, and sprinting down the stairs into the kitchen.
"How long?" Mr. Cake nudged his wife.
"How long til what?" She asked, laughing as I fled the scene.
"How long do you think she's been wanting to do that?" He said in a serious but happy tone.
Sighing, and looking at her husband, she answered, "Celestia knows, hun. Longer than I would have hoped."
Running through the double doors and bitch slapping those fuckers open, I stood on the coloured tiles. "Pinks?" I asked aloud in the bakery. "Come on, I know you're here, there's no where else you'd go."
I heard faint sniffling coming from a cupboard and opened it, seeing Pinkie sniffling and grasping a bag of sugar. I frowned and picked her up, setting her down on the counter and making her look at me.
"Pinks, nothing's wrong, you were fucking adorable last night, okay?" She stopped sniffling and sat there with her mane covering her eyes, "Seriously, I can't believe you liked my music that much, you calmed down almost instantly. Was a site to behold." I told her, poking her belly and hearing a tiny, little giggle.
"You really didn't mind?" She asked just above a whisper, "T-that I was holding you?"
I still couldn't see her eyes so I knelt down in front of her and pushed her mane away, "Why would I? You're my BBFL remember? It's perfectly fine, Pinks." I assured her, letting her name flop down around my face as I smiled at her.
"You're the bestest, Massy.." She calmly smiled and hugged my neck, refusing to let go.
"Yes, yes. I know I'm the best, you tell me that all the time, haha. Plus I already knew that, I'm so clutch I can't even handle myself at times." She let go and punched my shoulder playfully.
"Keep telling yourself that, hehe." There's that Pinkie laugh I was waiting for.
"Good, now that that's settled, what's on the list for today?"
The colour drained from her face and she groaned, "Mrs. Cake has it..."
"Oh come on!" I yelled.
"Looking for something~?" Oh gawd...
Mrs. Cake was standing at the doorway grinning smugly as she trotted over to us, doing a small circle around me, "Yes... yes we are." I said exasperatedly.
"I'll let you have the baking menu if you tell me a little secret~" Why does every pony I like have to be a smartass? "Sooo~. How long are you two going to be dating?" She said giggling, smirking at my reaction of walking over to the fridge and kicking it over.
"Don't test me, pony." I told her, clenching my teeth and glaring at her.
"Ahahaha, that was good enough, here you two love birds go~" She left the list on the order spinner and trotted out victoriously.
I looked over to Pinks and... Wow. "Uh. Pinkie? You okay? 'Cause you look like you're literally about to blow up." I shit you not, her entire face was beat red and her jaw was on the floor, steam coming out of her ears. "Pinks?" I asked, walking to her side and trying to put a hand on her withers before she vanished in a plume of smoke.
Staring at the smoke trail, I could only pray for Cupcake and Carrot. Considering Pinkie went to most likely beat the living hell out of the mare, I might as well get started on the days work.
"Pinkie, dear, you can't keep playing around like this. You're hurting yourself, and you know I won't let you do that." Mrs. Cake told her joyful friend. "You're practically a daughter to us, seeing you do this doesn't just hurt you."
Pinkie Pie pawed at her bed and grabbed her pillow, hugging it tightly, "I can't do this..." She said blankly.
"And why is that, sweets?"
"He doesn't like ponies... Applejack tried, even Rainbow Dash once asked him out. He ran from AJ and turned down Dashie so fast it made her cry... He wouldn't want a 'fluffball of sugar' to be his marefriend." She looked down and fell onto her back, holding the pillow tighter.
"Oh, sweetie." Mrs. Cake hopped onto the bed along side her and draped a forehoof on her forehead, stroking it as a mother would, "You just don't see it, Pinkie. Do you have any idea what he talks about when you're not here?"
Her ears perked up at this but still laid solemnly with her large pillow, "No... How would I?"
"He only ever talks about you. You, and how each day even though he's stuck here, he actually enjoys coming to work. You are quite literally his only ray of sunshine, Pinkie."
She looked skeptically over at Cupcake, "I know when you're lying to me, and I don't like it." Looking away and covering herself with the pillow, she sighed and nuzzled deeper into it.
"Have you ever wondered why Mason comes here each day?"
"So he can earn bits and live?" Pinkie told her harshly.
Mrs. Cake all but chuckled at that. "Pinkie, he personally knows Princess Luna and Princess Celestia. Do you think he would ever have money problems, being the only one of his kind, knowing royalty and being on such good terms with them?"
"Well... no." Pinkie said, more for herself than the answer.
"Do you think he would show up every day he could, just to bake? We both know he never liked it in his own world." Pinkie let go of the pillow and let it flop to her other side, "Think Mason would come here only to see me and Carrot? He can't even stand us let alone want to see us all the time."
"But he said he would never even kiss a pony..." Pinkie lay sprawled out, eyes wide but with the droplets of her coming tears showing.
"I can't believe you would ever think that to be true. I thought I taught you more than just baking." She told Pinkie sternly.
Slowly but surely Pinkie turned and stared at Mrs. Cake, "What's that supposed to mean? You... You think he likes me?" She asked just above a whisper.
Smiling and nodding, she added, "Do you remember when you went to your family's rock farm last month? The entire week, every day Mason came in, he complained about the day being awful, and asked when you were getting back." Pinkie wiped her oncoming tears away and sat up, "The sixth day you were gone, he sat down on the floor and told me there wasn't any point living if you weren't coming back and that he was going to lay there until you returned. I'm sure he was joking, but Pinkie, he didn't move from that spot and refused to leave for the night." Seeing a little glow on Pinkies face she continued and sat right next to her, "Not only does he like you, he cares so much about you, he would sit alone in the cold and dark, waiting just to see your face again."
"H-he.. He w-waited the entire night? For me?" Pinkie's cheek took on a pinker tint and she stared at Mrs. Cake, "He did that when I was gone?"
Smiling and hoping she had finally broken through the thickest skull in Equestria, she answered, "Pinkie. He told me to get out of the kitchen because I was standing in your spot." Gripping her hooves in her own and smiling brightly at the young mare Mrs. Cake couldn't help but giggle, "You're his joy in this world."
"Where the fuck is everyone?!?!" I screamed helplessly at the front counter, diving behind into the kitchen and grabbing more cakes, making Snails' smoothie and giving Lyra and Bon bon Their chocolate drizzles. "I can't keep this up..." I told myself, crawling over the divider and taking the pony's bits, dropping them in the register and letting my head hit the counter.
"Oh come now, that's no way to be while on the clock!" The fuck did that pony just say to me? "Really, I can't believe Sugarcube Corner lets you stay employed!"
Woo, the alabaster skank is here!
"Rarity, you know I have about three hundred knives back there, right?" I told her in a dead tone.
"How dare you, you uncothly beast! I should tell that to the Cakes and get them to dock your pay!" I chuckled and grabbed a whipped cream bag, dabbing it on her 'perfect muzzle' as she always put it.
"Now, now. We wouldn't want the Princesses hearing you tried getting their favourite human fired, would we?"
She huffed and wiped the cream off her muzzle with her magic, "I don't see why Pinkie and the Cakes put up with you." She glared at me and made me laugh darkly.
"Ever wonder what the secret to our cupcakes is? I'll give you a hint; sugar, spice, and your best friends." I grinned evilly at her and watched as her face contorted in horror.
"Y-you retched, animal! That's horrid and simply atrocious. How could you even say such a thing?!"
I leaned an elbow on the counter and stared at her with hollow eyes, "Haven't heard from Flutterbutt recently have you?"
"Well no, but what does that have to do with- OH MY CELESTIA!" She screamed as loud as her impressive and annoying as fuck vocal chords could go and galloped out the doors.
"It's too easy with her, I swear. I can just make anything up and she thinks it's real. Dumb horse."
I finished up the day with relative ease for the most part. Other than being COMPLETELY ALONE THE ENTIRE DAMN DAY, I guess it went alright. Closing the blinds and hitting the lights on the store I thought about where the hell they could be and wandered up the stairs.
A faint light was coming from Pinkies room so I clenched my fists and stormed over to her door, pushing it open slowly and seeing a candle lit on her bedside table. Weird. Pinkie shouldn't even be allowed near fire...
My anger faded and was replaced with curiosity as I cautiously walked through the doorway and looked at the room around me; the entire room was different. She still had her icing coloured wallpaper and carpet, but the her party assortments and the like were no where to be seen. In fact, it was almost like she was cleaning it up for something...
"I wanted to make it look nice for you..." Pinkie all but whispered to me from her seat on her bed, just hidden by the lack of light.
"What do you mean, 'for me'?" I asked, walking up to her bed and looking at her with a puzzled look.
"I, uhm..." She fiddled with her hooves and looked up to me embarrassed, "I wanted to ask if you could spend the night here again... With me..."
I just kind of stood there. "What? All I heard was 'I', Pinks" She looked really embarrassed now.
"I said, I wanted to know if you would spend the night here again..?"
Blinking a couple times and thinking about it, I said, "Pinks, I've been wearing the same clothes for two days now, I know you- well, Gummy washed them, but it still feels off. I have to go home at some point you know?"
Looking completely crestfallen and slumping down a little she looked at me, "Are you sure? I-I could make you breakfast in the morning this time! Breakfast in bed, how about that?" She said almost desperately.
Hnnng.. I can't do this to her! I made her upset, now look at her! She's practically begging me just to spend the night.
"I'll.. Dammit, let me run home for a change of clothes and I'll be back.." I said, defeated by the sheer amount of hurt in her blue eyes. I can't take that kind of torture!
"Wait, r-really?" She asked happily but insanely surprised.
"Yes, for the love of god... You win, I can't help it when you look like the most precious puppy in existence!" I told her, flailing my arms around and walking out of her room, "I'll be back in no time." I told her, waving behind me, "Don't let the candle burn out, or I won't be able to see your happy face when I get back."
As I passed her door frame I could hear a held back squeal and giggle from her, and smiled at the thought.
"It worked.. Itworkeditworkeditworkeditworked, IT WORKED!" Pinkie screamed out in glee, running around her room at a fast pace.
"I can see my advice paid off, huh?" Mrs. Cake giggled and trotted into Pinkies room, being tackled by a mass of overjoyed pink and falling to the ground.
"Oh, thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou~!" Pinkie blurted out, squeezing the life from Cupcake.
"N-o.. Prob-lem..o!" She heaved out, and pushed Pinkie off of her, "Now, all you have to do is be yourself." She smiled and rubbed her mane, "I couldn't think of you any other way but as my daughter, Pinkie. I'm always glad to help." She told her, blushing and smiling brightly at what she just said.
"Y-you.. You really mean that?" Pinkie felt tears in her eyes and hugged Cupcake once more, letting her kiss her forehead and continue the hug.
"Of course, dear. Now remember, just be yourse-"
"I really hope there's still light up there, I might smack into the door or something." I said, walking up the stairs with my fresh set of clothes for the morning.
"OUT!" Pinkie yelled, tossing Mrs. Cake out of her room and through her own door, onto her bed in a flash.
"The fuck was that?!" I asked loudly, running up to her room and staring at her in confusion.
"What was what?" She asked innocently.
"The thing that just..." She was smiling childishly and tilting her head, "That just... Fuck it, whatever." I walked over to her bed and jumped down on to it, hands behind my head, "I ran over to Bookworms and told her it was an emergency, so I got my Ipod charged if you feel like you want to listen to more music. Figured you'd like it." I told her, a genuine smile on my face.
"W-well, yeah! That'd be awesome..." She slid over to my side and laid there looking up at me, "Thank you for coming back."

I Could Get Used To This
I can't sleep. Too many thoughts running through my head, I mean, I actually had a good time...
As I lay there, face staring up at the light blue ceiling of Pinkie's room, I couldn't help but look down at the ball of fluff dangling onto my side. She's simply too cute for words to describe, she's laying across my chest with the happiest smile I've ever seen on her face. And I should know, I've seen her smile quite a lot in my time here.
She looks so... So adorable, and sweet, and simply... I don't know, I can't put this into words.
What the hell are you doing, mate? This is Pinks, your bbfl, not someone you can spend a night with!
Why can't she be both?

Not the worst thing around here, you know. You look at this cuddly little ball of cotton candy and not agree, you dark asshole.

Lightly banging my head against her backboard, and I could hear her starting to wake up, so I did the only thing that came to mind; bring my arm around her and bring her as close to me as possible, delighting in her small whimper of defiance.
Moaning slightly and cracking an eye open she looked at me, mane in its usual curls dangling ever her face. Bringing a hand gently over her cheek, I slid her curls out of the way and saw her lips form a small smile, one I could tell she was sincere about.
"Mmm, you're so warm, massy.. I don't wanna get up todaaaaay" she complained, stretching out and holding my arm tighter.
"Well I actually like getting paid. So I'm getting up with or without you cutting off the circulation in my arms."
Complaining and refusing to let go, she flashed me her puppy dog eyes and slowly started to put my arm down.
"Oh so cozy you two look." Mrs. Cake said from the hallway, creaking the door open.
"Try knocking next time." Mason told her, picking Pinkie up with him and standing her on all fours.
Taking a squinted look at them, she hummed as she walked out the room, "You should take the day off Mason, you've been working pretty hard lately."
I just stood there nodding casually, "You sure? Okay I guess, not going to turn that down."
"You too, Pinkie! We can handle things!" She called from the steps.
"Wowy WOW! We both get the day off like I wanted, how weird is that?!" She said, excited.
"Yeah.. Strange isn't it?"
She smiled and grabbed my hand with her mouth, leading me back to her bed.
I guess she doesn't have anything to do with this.. Pinks can't lie to me at all, even when she tries.
"I'm just happy we don't have to clean up all the stuff we packed into the broom closet. That would be a nightmare!" She said.
I sat on the bed and thought for a second. "Wait. Pinkie, we never put anything in the closet." I told her.
"Really? Then I guess it was just me who filled it with the leftover pudding we were mud wrestling in." She giggled and laughed while I only thought one thing now.
"We should go." I picked up Pinkie and started running through Sugarcube Corner, passing Mr. Cake and out the doors, leaving them swinging.
"Mason, why'd we have to leave?! I'm still tired." She yawned and closed her eyes, snuggling into my arm as I kept running.
"Because I know the first thing Mrs. Cake does in the morning , EVERY morning."
"EE-AAHH! THERE'S PUDDING IN MY EARS!" Cup Cake screeched from the bakery, which happened to be shrinking in the distance.
I fell to my knees after a few more sprinting sessions just to make sure we were far enough away. "Pinkie... I think this is... Where I die." I collapsed after letting her go and rolled to my back, breathing heavily.
Pinkie stretched and yawned, rubbing her eye as she looked around. "You're taking me for a game of paintball?!" She yelled happily.
"What? Where did that come from?"
"Well, usually tall grass and trees means paintball.." She said, obviously.
"Sweet Satan, do I worry about you at times, Pinks."
"Who's Satan?"
I chuckled at her lack of knowledge. "The greatest man I have ever sold my soul to. Makes great burritos."
She just stared at me with her usual, 'whatever you say' face and began hopping all around me as i laid on the dirt finally breathing normally. I sat up, stopping her with a hand grabbing her tail as she kept bouncing in place.
"What ya wanna do today Massy? We have the whooooooole day to decide!" She asked with a quick turn as she faced me.
"You know, even that I've lived here for so long I have never really seen the restaurants. Wanna go get breakfast?" I proposed.
"Oh my gosh! I know the perfect place, you'll love it." She told me with a jerk from her hooves.
She led me back into town and through the main streets (one being mane street lel) then up to a small cafe with a modern sort of look to it. Metal stools and chairs outside with little patio tables where Pinkie chose for us to sit. The atmosphere was pleasant I guess, I mean, nopony was staring since they saw me at the bakery but I was thinking they might be shocked to see the hermit leave his abode.
"Watcha looking at, Massy?" Pinkie asked, drowning out my strange thoughts.
"Eh, nothing. Pay it no mind." I picked up the small menu the was tucked into the parasale's stand through the table and flipped it around. "It's made of wood... Of course it's made of wood. There's like ten items on this thing Pinkie, I thought it was a restaurant?"
"I never said it would elegant sillyhead. It's ponyvilles cafe, they keepit basic, and I know you like basic."
Well she wasn't wrong, I do like things to be as simple as possible. Especially in this world of constant herorics and colourful explosions. Guess she picked well.
"What about you though? You like things to be specific to the extreme. What are you going to order?" I swear if she pulls out another cake like that sleepover at Purplesmarts' I'm gonna just give up.
"I always come here with Twilight for breakfast and order a coffee with a few pancakes, I'm fine."
"Wait really? No ice cream sundaes overflowing in fudge and cookie dough?" I asked surprised.
"You'd be surprised, hehe." She said with a closed eyed smile as the waitress came by, putting our conversation on hold.
"Hello, welcome to the ponyville cafe. My name's Ashy Apron, can I take your order?" There's something else I will never grasp with ponies. The names. Are you just named randomly then your cutie mark just goes with your name?! Damn you Equestrian gods.
"Yes indeedy! I'll have a black coffee and half a stack of pancakes please. "
"Alrighty. And you, then?" She asked with a slight look at my body. I know it's weird, but I thought after three years they'd get used to it. Spike's the same just with a tail and well.. spikes.
"Uhh," I looked over the menu quickly and saw my favourite dish. "Oh wow, you guys actually have this here? I'll take the cream cheese green peppers and a coffee as well."
"No problem, I'll be back soon with your meals." Apron saI'd as she trotted to the kitchen.
"Why so surprised?" Pinkie asked.
"You said simple. Cream cheese bell peppers are not simple." I raised an eyebrow.
"It's one of their best selling dishes for breakfast, that's all." She told me me with a serene look over at the little foals running after each other just outside the school yard. "I wish I could be little again..." Ssighed.
I just stared at her; I bet anything that's not what she's really thinking...
"Yeah, me too. Not a care in the world and you can play as much as you want." I thought back to my childhood and chuckled. "I remember this one time with my friends we had gone exploring in the woods near my house and found an abandoned greenhouse. "Sounds like you had quite the backyard from what you told me about your world. So many buildings, so little trees. I couldn't imagine ponyville like that."
"You're lucky you never will haha. I had a great backyard. West of town and all by ourselves with the beach but a few hundred meters. Was great."
Talking for a few more minutes about Pinkies childhood on the rock farm then the day she discovered her talent, our food came and we ate in silence. Not an awkward silence like the one I usually have by myself, thinking about how to make it through the day without seeing a pony fully break into tears. A calm, reluctant silence that we both enjoyed, glancing at each other every now and then as we watched ponies go about their day.
By the time we were finished it was about ten thirty in the morning so we placed our bits on the table and thanked Apron on our way passed the doorway. I asked Pinkie where she was leading us but she said it was a surprise for me.
...I don't like surprises.
"Where IS that girl at? We've been waiting for nearly ten minutes now." The posh pony said aloud in a huff to her two friends.
"Oh come on, Rarity. She's probaby still with Mason you can't just expect her to hurry over here when she has him do you?" Twilight told her with a knowing smile.
"Hmph, I still don't understand WHAT she sees in him." She added with a flip of her violet mane.
"Clearly something we don't, so I think you should try to be just a little nicer to him. Especially when She's around." She laughed and finished setting the speakers up she got from Vinyl the earlier.
"Okay, okay. Jesus Christ Pinks." I opened the door to Spergles library, and kept my eyes shut. I wandered in, expecting Twilight to ask why the hell I had my eyes closed but all I heard was a random audio buzz. "Wait. Was that a speaker?" I opened my eyes and saw the biggest set up of randomly sized speakers in existence. There had to be at least fifty speakers all ranging from head to fridge size.
"Thought you might like to share your music?" Pinkie said sheepishly from beside me. I looked at Twilight and she smiled then saw Rarity as she looked away. I was about to say something but Pinkie beat me to it, "Rarity, that's not nice. At least say hello, he hasn't done anything." Oh... thanks Pinks.
She sighed and looked right through me, "Hello Mason. Fluttershy sends her regards."
"Hey Prissy. I bet she does."
"Ugh, can you two stop this childish nonsense for just a day?" Twilight inquired, Clearly already exhausted by us. "Just come over here and plug in your iPod. I make a Jack for it from what Vinyls headphones and your iPod look like."
I strolled up there as debinare as I could, glaring at the ivory bitch all the while and plugged in my iPod. "So you want to hear some music?"
They nodded except for Rarity who laughed and told me, "I wouldn't call anything you enjoy music."
I was ready to let fly the insults but Pinkie looked up at me pleading with her eyes, telling me not to do it. Not to start a war between her friends. I took a calming breath and flipped from my rock to my classical and put on My favourite of all classical music; Beethovens seventh symphony.
As soon as I hit play, I realised how loud the speakers were and almost covered my ears. I looked and saw Raritys face slowly forming one of shock and then she had to cover her mouth with a hoof as I could see her almost in tears from the first minute and a half.
When the song ended, I hit stop and just kinda leaned against the table my iPod was on, looking at Rarity. "Not what you were expecting, huh?"
She only shook her head, hoof still slightly covering her mouth. "T-that... That was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard..." she whispered.
"Good. I'm glad you have a great taste in music." Silence hung for a second before I broke it. "He was deaf."
"Who?" They all asked.
"Beethoven. The artist. He was deaf."
They were all in shock before Twilight asked, "Then how could he make music? Or even know what it sounded it?"
"He wrote it down and in his age they were creating tools already to help keep rythym. But they created a device for him because he was so talented in his first symphony, so he could continue. it measured the beats and notes by going back and forth, so even without hearing he could understand what it was like. He created a huge amount of symphonies and each was more beautiful than the last. That was his seventh, my personal favourite for a reason as you can tell."
Again, the silence overtook before Rarity walked over and nuzzled my hand slightly before looking up. "I'm so, so sorry for the things I've done to you and said, Mason. You're not anything like I thought you were. I shouldn't have judged a book by it's cover."
I... I actually had to feel my pulse for a moment. Nope, I'm alive still. "N-no problem Rares... I wasn't being the nicest of company to begin with. I just had a problem with you thinking you could talk to me like that... guess we both got caught up in the others ways. I'm sorry too, can you forgive me?"
"Oh darling, you're forgiven alright. As long as I am as well?" She said hopefully.
"Y-yeah... Of course." She grazed my hand again and sat on a pillow, ushering the girls over to sit down with her.
"Do you think we might be able to hear more? Not just classical but any you might like?" She asked politely.
I slowly nodded and put it on party mix, the first song being Painted Black. I walked over as nd was about to sit down on Pinkies side but they patted a pillow in the middle and sat down, Rarity leaning on my side as Pinks sat in my lap curling up, with Twilight on my other side.
"I knew you would get along..." Pinkie said happily and a small poke to my chest.
"I... I could get used to it."
