I could have sent her back...

Dear Diary,

I bought her a large salad this time. It was only a dollar extra, and I wanted to enjoy my chicken sandwich today.

While we ate, I talked to Dashie about why she's here, and what she can remember. She said that she was in the alley because she was hungry. She was eating the flowers they would throw away, as well as the occasional rat, when she was desperate. I tried prodding her about where she came from, but she doesn't seem to remember anything from before the alley. As far as she knows, she was born in this city.

I know I've written before about how "impossible" isn't a word I'd like to use anymore, but that just didn't click with me at all. The idea of an obviously two-dimensional, fictional creature simply existing in this world somehow sounded far more outlandish to me than the idea that she came from a parallel dimension. Call it a hunch, call it insanity, call it whatever you want, but I feel that some way or another, she came here from Equestria.

I've been thinking about getting her a diary of her own. After all, she has to go back to Equestria some time or another. May as well have something to remember her by. She already seems really interested in reading the books I have lying around the house, so I figure she'd have fun writing in one as well. I'll see about getting her one tomorrow.

Her salad really didn't last as long as I'd hoped. I ended up having to give up my sandwich again. Two salads next time. Seriously, how much can one filly eat?
