PREH: The monster of hearts and hooves day

We teleported to Canterlot Castle, not knowing what would befall us, or what we would see. We saw the entire castle in shambles. I saw Prince Blueblood’s head impaled on a spike, among other things. Twilight let out a choked sob, looking towards a chunk of purple, pink, and golden hair. “Cadence.” I breathed. I heard a crash as Twilight fell to the floor, sobbing. I ran over to her and started to comfort her. “Shhh, its ok..” I said to her soothingly. She continued sobbing. “I don't see Cadence’s or Shining Armor’s heads.” I told her. She looked up at me with newfound hope.”

“You think they're still alive?” She asked.

“If they are, we will do everything to save them.” I looked at Blueblood’s head again. “At least he’s dead.” I said. Twilight looked at me with a mix of shock and horror. “What?” I darkened. “No One insults my family.” She gave me a look that said really?

“We’d better keep moving, we need to find out what happened to what happened, If there's anyone like us, and why we are not affected.” We headed out, keeping an eye out for the Blood Rangers, as I decided to call them. We came to the main throne room, and we saw something we found horrifying. The Blood Rangers were doing battle against the Royal Guard and the castle staff, every single one of them changed as well, black hair, red eyes, the whole enchilada. The guards and staff weren't doing so well. For every one hit landed on the Blood Rangers, about five of the rest were killed.

“If we don't stop hem, the Blood Rangers will destroy the guards!” Twilight said. But as we took one step into the room, all fighting ceased, and they all turned to us.

“Oh, Fuck.” I said. They slowly made their way at us, brandishing swords, knives, axes, and, I gagged when I saw a unicorn horn as one of the weapons. I started to draw Muramasa, but Twilight stopped me.

“If we use any of our weapons, we could kill them without meaning to.” The Reavers started to charge. “Lets get out of here!” She yelled. We ran, screaming comically. All of a sudden, A door opened, and a light blue magical aura yanked us inside. The room was pitch black, so nothing was visible.

“Who are you, and what have you done to the citizens of Canterlot?” A familiar voice asked us. Twilight gasped.

“C-Cadence?” Twi asked in a shaking voice. There was another gasp.

“T-Twilight?” The voice asked. The lights turned on, and Cadence was revealed, standing in front of us. Twilight powered down, and jumped towards her, tackle-hugging her to the ground, giving her a pinkie style, bone crushing hug.

“oh, thank god you’re ok Cadence! Thane and I found a chunk of your hair, and I thought you-” She couldn't say more because I put a hand over her mouth.

“SHHH!” I shhh’ed her. “We need to be quiet, If they hear us, They will kill us, because Twilight and I alone can't stop the 10 Blood Rangers.” I said quietly, but urgently.

“Speaking of “They”, What are they?” Cadence asked.

“They were once our our friends, our families, but something made them like they are now, with a thirst, a thirst that will never be quenched. A thirst, for blood.” I said, most likely way too dramatically. They both gave me a look that said, really? “What?”

“Nevermind, I'm just wondering why they’re acting like this, I know it was because of the monsters energy wave, but I don't know what it affected.” Twi said, going into science mode.

“Monster, what monster?” Cadence asked.

“Nightmare created a monster, from what me and Thane have figured out, the monster created an energy wave of some kind, and it instills hate and bloodlust, like captain subtle over here,” She said, pointing to me.

“OI!” I said, pretending to be offended, but giving her a smile. She smiled back

“Other than the fact that You, Thane, and I aren't affected, we know nothing else. It seems to make people coco in the head, but nope, we are completely in the dark about this.” When Twilight mentioned coco in the head, I started thinking. Nothing could mess with a ponies brain directly, that was impossible, that much I knew. But it wasn't impossible to mess with a ponies brain indirectly, like with…

“OH MY GOD I'M SO FUCKING STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!” I literally shouted at the top of my lungs. It then slapped my hand over my mouth. We heard crashing down the hallway. “Quick, Cadence, where is the infected Shining Armor?” I asked her. She pointed wordlessly towards the bedroom. “Alpha, teleport me, Cadence, Shining Armor, and Twilight back to the command center now!” The Blood Rangers burst into the room and saw us disappear. They let out an unearthly roar, and left the room. Once we found ourselves back in the command center, I wasted no time in rushing Shining Armor to the infirmary. After running some tests, I went back to Twi’s room. Her and Cadence were comforting each other. “I have good news and bad news.” I told them. “The bad news is that something has changed the brainwaves of the infected, make them bloodthirst. The good news is that I will be able to help them, but it’ll take some time.” More alarms rang throughout the room.

“Rangers!!! The Blood Rangers and attacking Ponyville!” My mind went back to my nightmare that i had this morning.

“Twilight, I need you to promise me something.” I said to her.

“Anything.”

“I need you to stay here.”

“Ok, sure, that sou- wait, whaaaaaa?” She said.

“Please, I need you to stay here, I don't want you to get hurt.”

“I’ve been in plenty of fights!”

“Just please trust me ok?” I need you to stay here!”

“Give me a good reason and I will!’

“I DON'T WANT YOU TO FUCKING DIE!!!!!” I screamed at her. She jumped back in shock. I took a breath. “I had this dream this morning, everything that had happened today, happened in the dream, and In it you died. I can't lose you!”

“I know, but i'm sorry, I have to do this, I have to go with you!”

“I thought you would say that. Activate force field.” A force field appeared around Twilight.

“Let me out!!!” She screamed.

“Cadence, do not let her out! Do you understand?” Cadenced nodded dumbly. “Good, ask Alpha for help to fix Shining, and to make a blaster to fix the madness wavelength” With that, I teleported out, leaving Twilight sobbing in the field.
