The Barrier is coming, and like so many other humans, Kevin Stone wishes he could ignore it and continue living his ordinary life with its ordinary ups and downs. But there is no stopping the Barrier, and as it approaches, he too must recognize the decision put to all humans: convert, die, or hold out for an alternative.

From an ordinary day at work forward, the coming end of the world will no longer allow itself to be ignored. Old hurts and new emotions laid raw will change him in ways he couldn't have dreamed, and the choices he makes may have him learning things about himself he never dared acknowledge. There is no fence to sit upon. There is only the Barrier, and it is coming for everyone, whether pony or human.
