Pinkie Pie’s party was fun, Shade really liked the punch and cake and the colorful balloons. Spike was sitting bored in the corner eating some cake and watching Shade and the others talking. “Hmm.” Spike got a idea. “Hey Shade come here a second will ya?” Shade turned to him and walked over.

“Yes Spike?” He crouched down to Spike’s level.

“How much can you lift?” Shade thought for a moment.

“I can lift anything. Why do you ask?” Spike’s eyes grew wide.

“Lift a bookcase!” He nodded and a dark vine came out of his back and wrapped itself around a bookcase, gently lifting it and keeping the books from falling out. Pinkie and Rarity applauded by hitting their hooves together.

“Bravo! You seem to be very strong!” Rarity cheered.

“Your like the hulk or something!” They all gave her confused looks. Spike got up and started whispering in Shades ear, he moved away and grinned.

“Got it?” He nodded. “Alright! GO!” Two more vines came out of his back.

“-and I was like ‘thats not a stool, thats Tank!’.” Both Rainbow Dash and Twilight laughed at the joke. They were coming up on Sweet Apple Acres but before they got there they saw Applejack walk out through the gate. “Oh hey Applejack!” Dash called zooming by Twilight.

“Well howdy Twilight, Dash, what can ah do for ya?” She smiled happily at her friends as Twilight caught up panting.

“Twi’s got a new guy at her place and we’er asking everypony we know to go see him, Rarity and Pinkie Pie should be there already. We’er going to Fluttershy next, so if you could head there and meet him ahead of time that would be awesome!” Dash cut in as Twilight was about to talk. She glared at her.

Applejack grinned. “Ah new guy? AND he’s at Twi’s? I never thought you had it in ya Twi.” Twilight blushed madly.

“N-no its not l-like that!” She tried to argue but Applejack just laughed and walked towards the library.

“Ah know Twi. I’ll see y’all later!” Twilight and Dashed waved at her and began walking towards Fluttershy’s.

“So, you don’t like him?” Dash teased. Twilight, again, blushed madly.

“N-no! I mean I do but not like-” She was cut off by Dash’s laughing.

“AHHHHHHHHHH! LET ME GO THIS INSTANT! THIS IS NOT FUNNY! AHHHHH!” Rarity screamed as she flew through the air, followed by Pinkie.

“WEEEEEEEEEE! HIGHER! HIGHER! FASTER! WEEE!” She laughed uncontrollablely, she was then followed by a bookcase. Shade had been juggling them with his dark vines, a grin on his face.

“You were correct Spike, this is fun.” He turned his head and looked at Spike who was dieing of laughter. He kept juggling them for a while when he looked back at Spike his grin a bit more seeable.

“Whoa what are you planing?” Spike stopped laughing and shot up. Another vine grew from Shades back and grabbed Spike. “WHOA! AHHH!” He yelled as Shade tossed him up into the air and started juggling him like the others.

“IT SERVES YOU RIGHT FOR GETTING THE IDEA INTO HIS HEAD!” Rarity called to Spike as she shot up into the air. As this all happened Applejack was staring at the library in confusion.

“What in tarnation?” She charged and kicked in the door and what she saw did not help. What she saw was some monster shadow pony tossing her friends around in the air with a bookcase. “PUT MAH FRIENDS DOWN!” The surprise made Shade catch all of them and the bookcase to look at Applejack.

“Who are you?” Applejack had a angry glare.

“Ah should be asking you that. Get ready for a world of hurt!” She charged him with amazing speed and bucked him right in the jaw. He stumbled back a bit but shook it off and looked back up at her. A vine shot out at her wiping the ground as she dodged, it left a nasty gash in the wooden floor. Applejack charged again and bucked him where his ribs should be, he flew to the other side of the library and hit the wall sending some book of their shelves. He got up slowly and actually opened his mouth letting out a ghastly roar that shook the whole library.

“You come here and assault me for no reason, for this you must be punished stranger!” A shadow came out of the ground and wrapped itself around Applejack’s leg and whipped her around in the air. Soon she grabbed a book as she flew by a shelf and chucked it at Shade’s head, which made him let go of her sending her into a wall.

“Now yer going to get it!” She ran around him before he could recover and bucked him as hard as she could, which sent him flying out the window. He stood there sizzling in the light of the sun. The others were too stunned to say or do anything to help and soon, Shade melted in the light and out of sight the shadow went back into the library. Applejack walked over to her friends panting. “Y’all alright?”

Spike blinked and started freaking out. “THE LIBRARY! APPLEJACK WHY!? HE’S FRIENDLY!” Applejack flinched.

“You mean ‘was’ friendly right?” Spike grinned and pointed behind her.

“Nope.” She turned to see the shadows gathering together and reform the dark being she thought she killed.

“That......Hurt...” He muttered. Applejack backed up in horror.

Rarity put her hoof on Applejack’s shoulder. “Applejack, darling he’s friendly, if he wasin’t do you think we would be here right now telling you this?” She looked at her then back to Shade with a gulp.

“A-are ya sure?” They all nodded, even Shade. “W-well then,” She walked up to him and extended her hoof slowly. “M-mah name is Applejack.” He grabbed her hoof gently.

“Shade, nice to meet you.”
