Chapter Ten: The War Begins

David sat on his bed and looked over his DMR, smiling slightly as this, and a magnum pistol where the only two weapons that Celestia allowed him. It was enough. He had ten clips each, it would have to do. Hearing a knock at his door, David stood and walked over, opening it and saw a soldier out of breath. The stallion was a bright red pegasus with a grey mane, his cutie mark was map. When he saw the human standing before him he was a little shocked, since he was expecting another pony. He then noticed the ODST's black jumpsuit, usually worn under the battle armor, two, bright gold bars, his captain insignia.

The stallion then straightened up and saluted "Lieutenant Ruby Lance Sir!" He said with a manner that seemed right out of training.

"At ease soldier, what's the matter?" David said standing before him with his arms crossed.

"Sir, the Minotaurs, they are attacking Applelosa with a new weapon, it's like they have harnessed thunder itself!" The panicked pony said.

David's eyes narrowed, he didn't like the way that sounded. "Send word to Celestia, tell her to get alpha team ready, she will know what I'm talking about, I'll meet you in the throne room" David said and turned walking towards his armor and weapons.

-one week ago-

"So, if I remember correctly, this thing is called a pelican right?" She asked as David started to gather marine armor into a transport warthog.

"Correct," David said loading the fifth and final armor set onto the warthog. "Been on a few of them, but there is no need for it. Anyway, to answer your earlier question, this armor is for a few ponies, I'll need to modify them slightly. I need an elite team that can move quickly into enemy territory, wear an armor that can withstand the most powerful crossbow and be light enough to allow my squad to travel great distances without tire." David said as he helped the princess into the passenger seat and drove the warthog out of a hidden tunnel from under the mountain. Then hid the ground vehicle behind the castle.

"So, are you worried we will be attacked? Or will you be attacking?" Celestia asked concerned.

"I don't know princess, lets hope it's neither" David said holding his helmet.

-the throne room-

Five guards stood infront of the princess, none knowing why they have been called here. Ruby Lance stood at attention while the four battle hardened soldiers sat around the table more relaxed. All looking to the large doors as they opened and there stood their captain in full armor, DMR on his back, magnum on his hip. Ruby Lance stood shocked to see the all black armor.

"You are all here because you have either proven your metal, or where at the top of your class in basic" David begin. "I'll say this only once, if you want out, raise your hand now" not one did. "Good, now Celestia and I have formed a new, elite squad of six guards. Nicknamed A-team, alpha squad will be a first response unit that will engage, and battle the Minotaurs to allow the main force to either secure, or evacuate a town. There is reports of a new weapon in the

minotaur arsenal, I believe I know what it is." David looked at his new lieutenant "Okay lieutenant, tell us what you know." David ordered.

The pegasus nodded "well, from what I saw was it looks like a stick of metal, that let out thunder, smoke and fire, then, regiment just fell to the ground, covered in blood, I was one of the lucky ones, I'm only the pegasus in my regiment got away." Ruby said, the room was silent.

"They are called "guns" and from what the lieutenant described, they are muskets." David said as he started to explain his knowledge of them. "They use gunpowder to send a small metal object great distances and speed. "

The group looked shocked at their enemies new ability.

"This" David began and pointed to the DMR from his back "is a designated marksmen rifle. It was used by my kind many, many years ago. This is a far more advanced version of a musket. Both weapons can make your armor look like paper. That is why you will be wearing these" David lifted a cloth revealing the Marine armor. "Suit up, we leave in ten minutes."

The five ponies left with their armor and David walked up to Celestia "I don't like the world changing like this" Celestia said looking down.

"Don't worry Tia, if we are successful. We can end the war quickly, but you cannot stop progress princess, you either change with the world, or you fall to it." David said taking off his helmet. " damn, we could sure use a Spartan." He said with a chuckle.

"What is a Spartan?" Celestia asked giving him a interested look.

"Well, they are super soldiers, originally created to stop a civil war my race was in, where then repurposed to fight the covenant. I fought along side of one of them a couple times. He even saved my life" David chuckled then saw his squad walking in. He then put his helmet back on. "Okay men, grab your swords and your bows. Where leaving."

-outside Canterlot castle-

"Sir, what are we doing back here? The quickest way to Applelosa is by train" Ruby said with curiosity.

David only smiled as he moved a few branches and revealing the warthog. "Not anymore, now get in." David ordered. Driving off road to avoid the city, and to quickly get to Ponyville, then Applelosa.

-ten minutes later-

Knocks rang out into the library, opening the door, there stood Princess Twilight, and in front of her, stood the alien soldier, but, he wasn't in his armor, and only in jeans, his strong torso shining with sweat. "Da..David what are you doi.." She was cut off by his lips, his tongue roughly invading her mouth and dancing with her own, he lifted her up, roughly grabbing her ass as he pinned her to a wall, her moans filled the library. She smiled thankfully because Spike was in Canterlot. "You don't know how long I've waited for this" she said kissing him, he smiled as his hand slid down her stomach. -knock knock knock- His rough, strong fingers sliding over her wetted slit. -Thud Thud Thud- his middle finger entering -BANG BANG BANG-

Twilights eyes shot open as her dream shattered and she jumped out of bed. "JUST A MINUTE!" She yelled and quickly got dressed, her body desiring a finish that she couldn't give. Walking up to the door her hand grabbed the handle ~whoever this is, it better be important~ the lavender princess thought.

-Ponyville-

Parking the warthog in the everfree forest, David jumped out and looked around "alright men, each of you are responsible to go to each of the elements of harmony, once you get to them, escort then to the library. I'll meet you there. I'll keep in contact through your helmets headset, to speak, just press the button under you right ear on the helmet. Dont say anything on the radio until I break radio silence. You have your orders. Go." David said as they all took off to their given element, while he was given the princess. This order was from Celestia to secure these ponies and get them to safety.

Reaching the library, David noticed the door was open, and the lights where out. Turning on his night vision, David spoke in a whisper "this is the captain David, the library is not secure, I repeat not secure, are the other five secure?" David asked grabbing his DMR. One after another, all five came back as a yes. "Good, get the VIP's to the warthog. Then hold position. I'll be there ASAP." And with that, David entered the library with his DMR aimed and ready. ~okay, lets go~ he thought...
